Do you use a screen protector? for powerbook.

Do you use a screen protector for your powerbooks? if so, what do you use?

No, I thought about it and decided that a screen protector was not something I needed. The reasons:
* Key marks are generally finger oils, not physical scratches, and are therefore not permanent and can be removed using a damp cloth and gentle pressure. I have had my PowerBook for 2 years and this has held true. Various parts of my PowerBook have deteriorated far faster than the screen.
* I didn't want to have this additional thing to have to remove after opening the lid and to replace before closing the lid. To me that's annoying and complicates the experience. I love being able to get going as soon as I open the lid.
* I transport the PowerBook in such a way to avoid having other items in the bag compress the lid to the keyboard. If you carry a PowerBook in a backpack with 3 classes worth of textbooks and give the bag a hard landing on the library table with the PowerBook on the bottom, well, you might make some permanent marks that way.
* When thinking about all the things I might want/need to buy with the amount of money the screen protector would cost, I decided the screen protector was way far down on the list.
Nothing personal to those who find screen protectors useful, but that's the reasoning I arrived at. My opinion is that screen protectors are one of the many accessories that profit from unfounded consumer anxieties.

  • Do you need a screen protector for iphone4s

Do you need a screen protector for iphone 4s ?

It depends on how you handle and use the phone.  If you put it in a pocket or bag with loose change, keys, grit, etc, the oleophobic coating will likely scratch and sometimes the glass will scratch as well.

  • Should I use a screen protector for an iPhone 6 Plus?

I just bought an iPhone 6 Plus and can't decide if I want/need a screen protector on it. I take great care of my phones and do not set it carelessly down on any surface.

    Yes.
We were going without for the first time, and after only 2 weekes,  my wife just showed me a hairline scratch on hers.  She says it could not possibly have happened, but it did.
I just ordered screen protectors for both of ours.

  • Do you recommend using a screen protector for iPhone 5?

Does iPhone 5's screen scratch easily with normal use? I'm really careful with my Apple products, but I don't want to have scratches on my screen.

    had
2 ipod  touch never used one
1 iphone never used one but did crack the back glass a bit a screen protector would not have helped there though
1 ipad crack the front screen a bit from drop doubt a protector would have helped
don't really have much in the ways of scratches on any of them but if you are the type who will try to sell
the device  you own as soon as a new one is released then maybe both a rugged case and screen protector would be a good investment

  • Can you use a screen protector to cover a corner crack? If not, how much is a replacement iPad Mini?

    Basically what title asks.

It will cost you approximately US$219.00 to US$299.00 depending on the model.
Apple will replace the entire iPad; they don't repair.

  • Screen protector for TouchPad - yea or nay ?

If you use a screen protector for your TouchPad, please help the community (well, and me too!) by letting us know your experiences, in particular:
    What brand?
Ease of application (and removal)...getting the bubbles out?  Dust trapped?
Quality of the view (Glossy or matte finish?  Does it minimize glare/reflection?  Does it give off any distorted effects?)
Feel, and touch screen sensitivity issues?
    Many thanks!

    1. PhantomSkinz and some el-cheapo cling-type protector off eBay
    2. Horrific application for the PhantomSkinz.  I will never, ever buy another of their products that requires water to apply.  The el-cheapo cling protector was MUCH easier to apply, but I could never get it 100% dust free under the protector.  Every time I applied it, there was always dust underneath.  So annoying.
I gave up on any screen protector for my TP.

  • Do you recommend using a screen protector with the new ipad?

I just got an ipad with retina display.  I am wondering if I need to get a screen protector for it?

A screen protector can also significantly degrade the touch screen experience.  I know one very talented sketch artist you does some amazing art on her iPad and she says she cannot do it on anything but a naked iPad screen as otherwise the screen looses too much sensitivity.
They also make most stylus work poorly too, for the same reason (I use a stylus a lot with NoteShelf and Note Anytime for work stuff, and a screen protector really interfers with it).
Just to warn you that, depending on how you use it and the type of apps you use, you may find them more or a problem then a solution to anything.

  • Are there any cons to using a screen protector?

Hi. I'm going to be getting an Apple smart case for my new Ipad Mini today at Best Buy and wonder if I should also get a screen protector?. I've been using it without one for 5 days and like the feel of it. I know a protector would keep the screen pristine, however on my Iphone 4S it seems to diminish the display by slightly blurring it. I'm using my Mini mostly for Ibooks. The other concern I have is trusting whether BB will get it on the device right but I would not want to try myself (too worried I would make a mistake!) Thanks for your guidance and loving my Mini. Missy

I was considering the same thing when I bought my iPad Air. I really enjoy using the iPad with no cover/case at all. The way Apple designed it. The cool aluminum and smooth glass. I understand you on those points. The same can be said for the iPhone. I have both a case and screen protector on my iPhone. I can remove the case, not the screen protector. Those aren't made to install and remove repeatedly.
I'd prefer not to use a screen protector because of how it blurs the screen but also because it affects the "feel" of the screen. Gone is the silky smooth feeling of the glass. I got a scratch on an iPhone screen once and use a screen protector now. I carry the iPhone with me 24/7 so it needs more protection.
My iPad Air is a different story. I also bought it at BestBuy and use it for iBooks quite a bit too! I use the new iPad Air SmartCase to protect it but haven't installed a screen protector. I haven't installed one because the screen is only vulnerable while I'm using it and is protected by the case while I carry it. I like how the display looks and feels without the screen protector on.
The good news is, if you decide to install a screen protector, you can easily remove it if you change your mind. I hope this helps...

  • Screen protector for the zen sle

I am looking for a clear screen protector to fit the screen of my sleek as a temporary until i get a case. Does anyone know where i can find one that isn't to costly and works very well and fits snuggly with the screen of the zen sleek?

I am using the Photodon protector for the TX2. It's honestly a bit small. They will cut them to size. I found videos online and apparently the Photodon interfered the least as far as glare reducing screen protectors go. It does reduce the touch sensitivity some, but I've noticed very little difference after initial adjustment. I like to take my college assignments and reading to the park with the kids and the nice mirror screen does not do well for that, so I went for the glare reducing despite the bit of fuzziness that results. The display works quite nice in spite of it. The inking, which I thought was excellent before the protector, is actually even better. I think the minute amount of texture actually enhances pen action. My two cents. I'm ordering another custom fit to size presuming my replacement machine performs better than my initial. I'm having a ton of post errors. I think it's bios, honestly, but HP offered me a deal I'm having a hard time refusing...still very torn. I ordered this to my specs with nearly every upgrade included. The replacement would not have my fingerprint reader and I've been trying to go without it to determine whether I can live without it. Frankly, in tablet mode, it's a godsend, although it is not nearly as functional as my old Toshiba laptop's was...It would register far more websites and programs than the one included with the tm2...still, logging on from sleep in slate is miserable without it! I tried an app that lets you sign your name instead, but it doesn't seem to like Win 7 64 no matter what I do, including unpacking the MSI and manually placing files in folders.
Sorry, got off topic...but give Photodon a try.

  • Screen Protector for the TM2

Anyone know of a good screen protector for the TM2 that doesn hinder the touch screen? I have done a search but nothing comes up. Maybe its just too new for now.
    Will a TX2 screen protector fit? I don't have a TX2 so I can't compare the screen sizes.
    Thanks

  • Should I get a screen protector for my iPad air 2?

SShould I get a screen protector for my iPad air 2?

It's a personal decision. I've had a screen protector on my iPad 2 since the day it was bought. Same with my touch 4 and 5 (and I was able to sell my touch 4 to Best Buy in 'like new' condition thanks to a screen protector and case). other people swear never to use them and their devices are just fine.
I have two nieces that like to use my iPad so I appreciate the protector and the ability to clean it off without worrying about messing with the screen. Others don't like how the screen protector feels and won't use them. So I'd say it boils down to how are you going to use your device. Will it sit on the coffee table and never leave the house and only be used by adults? then you can probably do fine without one. Gonna take it to school  and on vacation and all over the place using it wherever? then you should consider a screen protector and case
Just don't go for the super cheap ones off amazon. They're cheap for a reason. I use a zagg one. it is expensive but it has a lifetime guarantee. If it's messed up protecting your device they replace it free. So worth it for me.

  • Screen protector for macbook

    Hello peeps,
I'm currently using Moshi iVisor for my Macbook Pro 13 inch screen protector.
It's anti glare, but the sharpness and brightness of my screen diminishes quite significantly.
Do you guys have any better recommendation?
Prefer one which is clear and retains the sharpness of my screen
    THanks

Any time you stick a piece of plastic over your screen it's going to degrade the quality of the image at least a little.  Why do you feel you need a screen protector?  Just don't poke at your screen and all will be fine.

  • Screen protector for Ipad2

    Hello!
I´ll buy and Ipad2 in the next weeks. I´m planing some accesories for it, and have a question. Screen protector for Ipad1 fits on Ipad2? or I have to use an specific one?
    Thx

Why would you glue a piece of plastic to your screen risking damaging it's treated surface? Plus, I've had iPhones and iPads for 3 years now and I have yet to scratch one of their screens, not being overly protective of them. The adhesive on many of these screen protectors can destroy the oleophobic surface, plus the responsiveness and the feel of the touch screen could be affected.
