Document - how to use it?

I have never used a document, but I believe it can be used for what I want.
I have some HTML code that I need to run, can I put this code in a document? for example if my HTML code was:
<html>Click Here</html> ...could I put that in a document and it show up as a link aying Click Here?
if so, can you help me out, i have never used a document before.

How To use a wireless in Satellite L305-S5968

I just recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5968 and I've never used or been able to set up a wireless PC.
How exactly can I use this PC to be wireless so I can login for free at the local library.
My wireless network card is this one: Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter.
I have the LAN working just fine but I'm afraid that the library does not have LAN plugins there.
What all do I need and what do I need to do to make this work.
I need step by step instructions on this please do not post vague answers.
I'm not a PC idiot, but I have never set this up before so this is new for me.
EDIT: Sorry I realize this may help...
I'm running Windows XP SP2 on here I believe.
I have my own disk i installed it with. I'll also be installing the wireless driver becasue apparently its missing as well.

Im a little bit confused about your posting. What you want to know exactly?
I mean you can WLAN instead of LAN without problems. Its the same just without cable. You have only to check the TCP/IP settings on your computer that is also depending on the router and type in the right password from the router Thats all!

I have found links to the the knowledge base document "how to use knowledge base keywords" online but all the links lead to a dead end. The document number is 75178, and explains the use of prefixes in the knowledge base keyword search. Has anyone any info on where this page is or if it still exists?

How to Use document.Lines.SetCurrentLine

Hi there, due to an enormous amount of time spent on this issue, I thought I would share how to use the SetCurrentLine method as posted to me by SAP support:
It seems very cumbersome, as I have now to do an extra Recorset look up to get all the lines if I want to get the correct index - but at least it works (hopefully).

the way the SetCurrentLine works is as following:
You do not have to use neither the LineNum nor the VisOrder as your
parameterfor the setCurrentLine method.
The system will use the corresponding index (starting at zero)linked to
that line when running a query on the database and sorting the lines by
LineNum.

See example above, that is the result of querying the database on that
sales order and sorting by LineNum.
The order in which the items are displayed in the application is based
on the VisOrder. In this example items are displayed A1001, A1005 amd
A1003.
In order to update Item A1005 I will need to create a recordset, query
the database and then loop the recordset to find the corresponding item
and then use that index from the recordset to set the value for the
SetCurrentLine method. In the example above index 0 from recordset
points at item A1001, index 1 points at item A1003 and index 2 points at
A1005 so your code should use setCurrentLine(2) to update item A1005.
If you try to use LineNum (3 in this case) you will get an error message
as index 3 does not exist in the recordset collection ( only 3 items
with indexes 0,1 and 2). If you use visOrder 1(for item A1005) then the
system will update item A1003 as 1 is the index for A1003 in the
recordset.

Your situation sounds a little different to mine, in that I know the LinNum of the documentline that I need to update - that is what the lineNumber variable is...
To update all the rows, I guess you would just iterate through all the lines sequencially (ie starting at 0 and ending at document.lines.count:
for(int i = 0; i < doc.Lines.Count; i++)
doc.Lines.SetCurrentLine(i);
// do your thing here...
How do you know what lines you want to update??

How to use xsl document() function with LiveCycle XSLT processor

I would like to use LiveCycle XSLT processor to merge xml documents by using the xsl document() function.
However, I have not, yet, found clear reference information on the specifics of how to accomplish in LC. For instance if you have
a transformation that does merging using a standalone xml editor (such as Oxygen), than what is required to accomplish the same
using the LiveCycle XSLT service. How do you specify the URI of the XML document that is specified as an input in the xsl document() function. Your insight is appreciated. Regards

I checked the reference that you cited (XSLT Transformation). The reference omits discussing how to use xlst document() function within a stylesheet. I think that probably means that feature of xslt technology is not directly available through LiveCycle. Does anyone know how to use pages so you can export pdfs from the internet and automatically drag words from the document into the file name of the pdf (i.e., author, title of a scientific paper). For example, if I am downloading a paper by smith called "Surgery" that was published in 2002, it will automatically set the file name in the download to smith- surgery 2002. I have heard pages is smart enough to do this.

Pages can export only its own documents. They may be exported as PDF, MS Word, RTF or Text files.
Pages can import (ie. Open a file as, or Insert a file into, a Pages document) documents in several formats, but won't rename the document as you describe. Documents that can be Opened (eg. Text, AppleWorks 6 WP, MS Word files) are converted to Pages documents, and retain their original names, with .pages replacing the original file extension. Files that can be Inserted (generally .jpg, .pdf and other image files) become part of the existing Pages file and lose their names.
It may be possible, using AppleScript, to extract the text you want and to Save a Pages file using that text as the filename, but that would depend in part on being able to identify which text is wanted and which is not.
How will the script determine where the author's name begins and where it ends?
How will the script recognize the beginning and of the title, an decide how much of the title to use in the filename?
How will the script recognize the year of publication?
For papers published in a specific journal, with a strict format for placing each of these pieces on information, or containing the needed information as searchable meta data in the file, this might be possible. But it would require knowledge of the structure of these files, and would probably handle only papers published in a specific journal or set of journals.
Outside my field of knowledge, but there are some talented scripters around here who might want to take a closer look.

How to use Cross Company Code document number as Reffrence.

Actually user wants to post the same debit credit line items with Editing the amounts which he has posted last month
So i suggested him to use post refference of the previous month document number.
Since that is Cross company document number. There is no source to give in T.Code FBR2. There is a fecility to give only document number of a company code not cross company code.
Assume that there are 3 company's involved in that document.
company X --- 25 line items
company Y -- 75 line items
Company Z -- 100 line items
Since he given in header data X Co code it has generated the Cross company code document number 1000X 08 ( which means 1000 is doc.number X is company code 08 is year. This is sap standard cross company code doc number format)
and individual document number is
X - 1000
Y- 2000
Y- 3000
If he post with the reffrence of X company only 25 lines will come remaining 175 line he as to post manually.
If he take Y Doc number only 75 lines will come
If he take Z Doc number only 100 lines will come
To bring all lines there is no provision to give Cross company Doc number.
Please advice how to use cross company doc number as refference.

How to use Add Shipments functionality in Shipment document creation

Dear All,
We wanted to use the Add Shipments functionality in the Shipment document creation / change.
We have two different shipment types.
I want to add shipments of one shipment type in to Shipment document of anohter shipment type.
I am not able to do it now as system is saying in the selection log that the shipment types are not same.
Please let me know what are the pre requisite configurations to enable us to add shipments in to another shipment.

Hi Venkat,
The option "find shipments" is provided to select the shipments to reassign or deassign the deiveries etc in VT01n or VT02n
transaction planning screen. Basically you can play around to assign and reassign the deliveries to different shipments
This option is not creating the shipment within shipment. It is just selection of shipments for planning purposes

How to edit a pfd document then save using Preview?

I received a form in pdf format. I need to fill out some blanks with text and e-mail it back to the sender. I could not figure it out using Preview. Actually I tried the Adobe acrobat reader also and had zero success. Thanks

Apparently, you must own the full Adobe Acrobat package. That will allow you to do all sorts of things with a PDF.
I think getting to the bottom of what works and what doesn't in a thread titled "How to edit a pdf document then save using Preview" is hardly doing a disservice. I appreciate your giving me the inclination to try a fill-in form using Preview again. I am quite pleased to learn that PDFView and Preview (in Tiger and Leopard) will allow you to enter data into a filled-in PDF form. Somehow I missed that. Often, it is a good idea to go back and re-try something even if you are sure you know the results. Sometimes things change underneath without your knowledge and sometime your knowledge expands to allow you to accomplish what had before been "impossible."
You can sigh all you want. But please, check your facts next time. And a bit more civility would be appreciated too. Sometimes people are wrong. That's life. The ADF is used to automatically feed a number of pages for scanning, copying or faxing. Paper is loaded into the ADF with the printed side facing up. When you then copy (or scan or fax) the pages will be automatically pulled into the scanner mechanism one at a time and then deposited in the output tray.

Using 10.6.8, internet pdf documents not opening using Adobe Reader; how is this corrected? I've tried changing "sharing and permissions" to "read and write" as suggested on other help sites, but this did not correct the problem.

I had the same problem---contacted Adobe and their service rep helped me by
A.   Deleting Adobe Reader from my iMac's Applications in Finder
B.   Downloading Google Chrome browser and then
C.   Downloading the latest Adobe Reader for Mac 10.6.8 in Google Chrome--it works
Adobe acknowledges problem with the latest Snow Leopard update 10.6.8 and with this work around, I can open PDF's using the Google Chrome Browser.
Is this the ideal solution---NO. Safari is my main browser. I now have to use a separate browser for PDF's.
Am I happy to be able to open PDF's---YES
You can't believe the time I spent to solve this problem before calling Adobe for help. My Apple Care policy expired a month ago . As I use Photoshop Elements, I was not charged by Adobe for their help on the telephone.
