Document operations missing when using my palette

Question

Hi,
after a lot of trial and error I have finaly managed to get a custom palette running in my Photoshop CS6. The problem I have now is that when my palette is active I am missing some functions from the Photoshop File-menu, i.e 'New', 'Open', 'Browse'. Is this to be expected?

Could it be that this code is preventing Photoshop from running all functions?
I would really like to have this running in a dockable panel in PS but I havn't found a way yet. Any suggestions are very welcome.

I see.  So when you scan, copy, or fax through the ADF, it acts like everything is working fine, but nothing copies, nothing scans, and nothing faxes.  When you use the glass, scan, copy, and fax work fine.  The c6180 has two seperate scanner lamps, one for the ADF, and the other for the glass.  It sounds like the ADF lamp has gone out.  There are a few things you can try to get it working again outlined here, but most likely if it's gone, it's gone.  The scanner lamps aren't something that you can replace seperately from the printer.  To replace the scanner lamp you gotta get a whole new printer.  If you can make due, then I would hold off, but if you gotta have it and the document doesn't fix it, you gotta get a new one.  The down side to getting a new one, for you at least, is that the PhotoSmart printers don't have traditional faxing anymore.  To get taditional faxing you have to get an OfficeJet or a LaserJet.  The OfficeJets will use way less ink than the PhotoSmarts, but the photo printing quality isn't quite as good, and the scanning options tend to be more limited.  The LaserJets are the most stable printers made.  They are efficent and will last almost forever, because there isn't alot that moves so there isn't alot that can break.  The downside to LaserJets is that they can be a larger initial investment, more so if you want color printing, but they do pay for themselves in the long run.
