Document Security API Issue

I have developed a web application through which I can apply a policy to a set of documents present on my server's file system,(using APS and DSS API's ) and it is working fine on my jboss.I want to develop an application through which i can apply policy to documents from remote client's file system. And I don't want to upload my files to the server. Imagine if i have a 100 mb document
Document Security service can't be accessed remotely.
Is there any solution to this

Acrobat and Acrobat Professional can both apply policies to documents. The engine on the server side that does this is called PDF Manipulation but the same technology is built into Acrobat.

I am trying to implement document security in the web service. here for that i have create a Ejb and exposed it as web service. now that i have enabled the Document security for the SOAP message. i want to know that which certificate (Keys) are used for the encryption and decryption of the message.
I saw in help.sap.com that i have to use view WebServiceSecurity in which their is a key XMLEncryption.
Now i have following issues with it.
I found no key in the view with name XMLEncryption
Should i create one or not.
Now i created one key with that name.
Now when i am using that key from .Net client to access the web service i get following responce form the web service.

Add certificate to document security

hi,
i want to certify documents through document securirty.
i am familar with the api, and there are no questions so far.
1. a x.509 certificate will be ok for certifying documents, isn't it?
2. i read the documentation of document security. i know how to sign the trust.xml, but i do not know how does the entry for my certifcate must look like. i was searching for an example of trust xml, but i couldnt find one. can someone post a valid trust.xml as an example?
3. my servlet will sing the document. how do i manage credential, who are allowed to connect to my servlet.
i am running win2003 and jboss environment.

Remove Document Security Rich Client 3.1

Login to Central Management Console. Go to Access Levels and open the Access Level for the member experiencing this issue. Grant access to the "Web Intelligence Rich Client: Remove document security" in "Web Intelligence" entry under "Application" section.

Add Security API to ess~cat project

Hi All,
I am trying to add the com.sap.security.api.jar to the esscatsap.com project (ESS - Working Time). I can add the file using "Add External Jars..." in project properties->java build path->libraries, but when I rebuild the project the jar file is lost and so I am unable to deploy with the security jar. Has anyone run into a similar issue? Any ideas?

SSL & Document Security Server

Previously I had successfully implemented a solution to allow me to apply a policy to a PDF remotely. I did this by creating an EJB to interact with the Document Security server. The EJB takes a byte[] as input (which is the unprotected PDF) and returns a byte[] as output (which is the protected PDF). This was working well.
I've now implemented SSL on JBoss/Document Security server and although the certificate seems fine, the application no longer works. At the point where it's writing the data back to the client the following error is presented within the server.log file:

The system doesn't actually seem to terminate as my client just sits there waiting for a response that doesn't seem to come.
Has anyone seen this before? Have I done something wrong when implementing the certificate? Is it unrelated to the SSL work that I've been doing?
I'm really confused and can't seem to find any forum topics addressing this issue so am very stuck. If anyone could offer any ideas as to how to solve this issue I'd be most grateful.
The steps I took to implement SSL were:
- generated a new certificate
- generated a CSR to get signed by a trusted authority
- added the signed certificate into my java environment
- performed an 'expert' installation of document security server to incorporate the new certificate (I had to do this as configtool doesn't seem to work on my machine)
- added the certificate to the JBoss installation & configured JBoss
If anyone could help me with this I'd be very grateful.

Hi Steve (and anyone that can help!) - I've installed my SSL certificate onto JBoss etc, and when I go to: https://<machine>:8433/edc/Main.do I see the certificate and it is trusted etc. The certificate appears fine. But when I run my application to apply a policy to a PDF (which works without the SSL connection) I get a problem being displayed in the server.log file. It initially says it has a problem retrieving the trust info (I assume that it's related) and then when it tries to do the work I get an SSLHandshakeException. javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: How do i deal with 'security certificate' issues on my iPad2? I'm unable to answer the security questions that pop up when Im trying to download an app because the pop up does not load properly...

Basically my Ipad2 stopped allowing me to go to sites such as Tumblr a little while ago. It wouldn't display the page properly because of 'security certificate' issues. This in itself would not have been such a problem, but when I went to the App store to try and download the Tumblr App, a pop up appeared asking me to answer some security questions before I could successfully install the App. However, the pop up would not display correctly because of 'security certificate' issues and as a result I can't download any apps from the App Store. Can anyone help with this??

Over the years, I've tried to grow the Mac side of our forum, but, as you may know, there is little or no interest in security within the Mac community. From which SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 SPS Digital Signatures and Document Encryption api is supported ?
I found Javadocs for SAP NetWeaver 04 SPS15.Is this api supported from SPS 15 or prior to SPS 15 also?

How to use BEA Security API to build ownuser admin

I want to build my own interface for a user admin module (create user, get role
names, etc) by using the BEA security API. I have been looking through the Javadocs
but can't find the key to how to start it, meaning what are the basic steps to
begin (e.g. first get connection to server bean, then create some generic bean,
etc etc).
Has anyone doen this?

Server has a model where application code runs in the containers and the
containers call into the security framework where authentication and
authorization is handled by plug-in modules. Are you attempting to build
one of those plug-in modules? Are you trying to write an ejb or a
servlet?

Essbase Security Filter issue.

Hi,
Its regarding the security filter issue.
The major problem is whosoever user is provisioned under that security filter, if the user is trying to connect to Application using Excel Addin / Smartview, it crashes the essbase server [Network Error [10061], timed out error)]
When we figured out because of this filter essbase server is crashing, we tried to edit the filter. sometimes if we click on edit, it crashes the server or sometimes we can see some junk characters in the filter.
We have applied the security on Entities dimension and problematic filter is ASP.
Now the hirerachy is like this.
Entities dimesnsion and then ASP member and under ASP we have our several members.
Filter is like this:
Write : @Idescendants("ASP")
It was working fine for almost 15 days.
Now if i edit the filter, i can see like this:
Write : @Idescendants("ASP")
Metaread:@Idescendants("*&^%?)
Junk characters are coming in and no idea from where they are coming.
I can't delete the filter also, again it crashes the essbase server.
As a workaround i have created a temp filter and dome the assignation for this group, according to that.
Everything is working fine.
I just wanted to know, has anybody faced such kind of problem earlier.
What cud be the root cause for this.
How could I delete the filter.
I have also get messages like security file is corrupted (we have restored it from old backup) but really worried about security file as we are moving the whole thing to production server this weekend.
Please advise me on this, Please help me. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Try to edit the filter from MaxL command line using
alter filter sample.basic.filt7 add write on '@IDescendants("ASP")';
here sample=application
basic=database
filt7=filtername
have good luck
