Documentation on Retail Method of Accounting

Dear all,
can anyone help me out or provide me some document on Retail method of accounting (RMA).
Thanks in advance.

Within SAP Retail, SAP supports essentially three inventory valuation methods: cost method of accounting (CMA), retail method of accounting RMA), and extended retail method of accounting (ERMA).
CMA and ERMA are calculated in ERP (see values and units in table MBEW) with stock ledger reports provided in BI.
The RMA Stock Ledger sits in BI and takes goods movements and revaluations from ERP and POS to recalculate inventory according to an RMA formula.  At the end of the period, adjustments -- the difference in ending inventory and COGS between CMA and RMA -- are posted into the general ledger so that the G/L reflects RMA results not the standard, ERP, CMA results.  Standard RMA stock ledger reports are also offered in BI.
Additional information for RMA can be found in the online documentation here:

  • F110 error - No Valid Payment Method found - Account ID missing

    Hello All,
I am trying to clear some Vendor invoices in F110 using a Payment method. We have entered the House Bank at the time of posting the Vendor Invoice (Invoice is posted through an BAPI) and I am able to see the House Bank in BSEG - HBKID.
Further for the Payment Method we are using only one House Bank and one Account ID - which has been configured correctly in FBZP - Bank Determination.
However when we are running F110 for clearing the invoices - we are getting an error no valid payment method found. I am able to see the Payment Method & the House Bank while editing the Proposal - only Parameter which is missing is Account ID - though we have maintained it in Bank Determination configurartion.
Any help will be appreciated a lot to fix this issue.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ankur

    Dear,
Everything may be alright but payment method is assigned to Bank Account in Bank selection section FBZP. So, system will process payment from the bank account with assigned payment method. So, there is no Account ID system is not able to find the payment method. It is difficult to provide remedy. If house bank and account ID is not in the vendor master then update them.
Just try it out....all the best.

  • Payment method in accounting document (F-36)

    Hello,
I would like to add the payment method field in accounting document. In fact, I would like to get the field when screen F-36 (line item 09 W) is displayed.
Can anyone help me on this issue?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ronan

I have checked field status for my account but I could not find the method of payment. Do you know in which group I could find the information. I thought it would be in the "payment transactions" group but it is not.

  • Is this a documented Collision Avoidance method???

I keep the avatar in my app above the terrain by checking the x and z location every frame and then positioning it at the appropriate y point (i.e. the height of the terrain at point y) - I've seen methods of collision avoidance implemented before using picking, it seemed fairly complex. I want mine as simple as possible so I plan to do it like this:
    - Add the objects to the terrain so the avatar would go over them regardless of their height
    - At every frame, store the current x,y and z co ordinates
    - Then calculate the hieght of what the new x, y and z coordinates will be
    - If the the new y coordinate has too greater difference between that and the old one (relative to the differences betweeen the x and y as this will reflect the speed) then keep the avatar in the position of the old x, y and z.
The value that represents the difference between the old y and new y cordinates would in effect be how steep the avatar can climb.
Is this a documented mothod of collision avoidance?
How good is this, speed wise, compared to other methods - I favour speed over accuracy.
    Thanks.

I think it is quite a standard technique - the only
danger is that if you are moving fast with a low frame
rate you may jump up vertical faces like this:B            B
    |              /
    |             /
    A   |         A  /
-------         ---If you only have a frame drawn at A and B you would
find no difference between those two examples, whereas
from a gameplay point of view you may want there to be
one.Hmmm, yes this thought had crossed my mind. Anyways, I'll give it a go and see how it works :)

  • Exceptions - documentation on which methods throw exceptions ?

Hi, does anyone know where I can find full documentation on iphone SDK methods
The iphone SDK documentation seems to be incomplete.
For instance, the discussion section of the SDK documentation for NSMutableArray addObject method doesn't mention anything about exceptions.
However, the method could throw an exception (and this is mentioned in http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Reference/Foundation/Classes/NSMu tableArray_Class/Reference/Reference.html)
I'm assuming that alloc will not throw exceptions and that it will just return nil if no memory is available. However, I haven't found any documentation that states this.
Does anyone have a pointer to Apple documentation for methods (that includes information on any (and all) exceptions thrown by the method and also includes information on possible return values for the method) ?

    There is this
    http://java.sun.com/products/jdbc/driverdevs.html
I am pretty sure that there is little in the meta data stuff that has to be supported.

  • COI Method in Accounting Technique

    Hi
my client is looking to clear system Generated Goodwill where this is offset with Negative Goodwill.
We were looking to impair both the +ve and -ve Goodwill.  However the current config posts the Amortisation Balance sheet entry to seperate accounts than the Capitalised Goodwill/ accounts.
There is 1 single COI methiod assigned to all companies.  My question - if we create a seperate COI method for the different Amortisation treatment, are there any downfalls to changing the assigned COI method in the accounting techniques, during the fiscal year. Also once changed, can this be changed back again in the next period ?
    Regards

    Dan
I am trying a few things in a sandbox, and we do not get PL02/12/22 docs, however upon CoI, you get a method change doc.
I have come across another issue in that I have gone back to the period in which GW was created, updated the GW activity to amortise the GW, and then rerun COI.  The amortisation is posting at different group levels than the GW. This seems like a bug, but I was wondering whether anybody had come across this before.

    Hi,
Valuation at retail in SAP Retail corresponds to all aspects of the retail inventory method as used in the trade. Valuation at Retail is transparent and easy to follow. When you use this method, inventory is updated in the article master at retail and at the same time in the Retail Information System (RIS), allowing you to carry out a number of powerful analyses.
Stock margins and inventory valuation in Financial Accounting are always up to date. And thanks to the integration of valuation at retail with Inventory Management and the integration of Inventory Management with Financial Accounting, Controlling and Profitability Analysis, the valuation data is consistent in all areas.
Valuation at retail can be used for both quantity and value-based Inventory Management and Inventory Management on a value-only basis. The following explains how you can best use valuation at retail for your requirements:
In SAP Retail, the valuation area must always correspond to a site.
In retailing it is common practice to record the retail price of inventory (retail method). Since it is extremely time-consuming to determine all the costs associated with the procurement of an article without the use of modern IT systems, it is all the more difficult to determine the delivered cost of merchandise. In view of this, the delivered cost of an article is usually taken as an average price calculated on the basis of the retail value.
    (a) Valuating inventory at delivered prices (cost inventory method)
You can only apply this method if you can ensure that all changes involving an article can be accurately recorded. What is known in the trade as the u201Ccost inventory methodu201D or the u201Ccost methodu201D involves valuating stocks at delivered prices and assigning costs to individual articles.
    (b) Valuating inventory at retail (retail inventory method)
What is known in the trade as the u201Cretail inventory methodu201D or the u201Cretail methodu201D involves valuating stocks at retail, often aggregated at merchandise category or departmental level. Stock is updated at retail for every merchandise category and department. For balance sheet valuation purposes on the balance sheet key date, the delivered cost of the stock is worked out based on a gross margin between cost and retail.
Both the cost method and the retail method can be used in SAP Retail.
    Bye and all the best,
    Muralidhara

  • Reg:Account Assignment

    Hi
I have created PO doc type as ZCAP (for Capital items).whenever we select this doc type we have to select account assignment "A" in Acc.*** Category field in PO line item.As it is manual entry, user (by mistake) is giving "K" instead of "A".
My question how can i make "A" as default to doc type ZCAP.so that whenever we select ZCAP, automatically acc.assign "A" should come and all other account  assignment categories should be deleted.
    plz suggest me some way.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    JNRKMM

    Hello
There is no standard configuration to control the account assignment with Purchase order document type. Purchase order document type is an header level control where as the account assignment is Item level comtrol.
You need to use Badi to control the account assignemnt category at PO line item level with reference to the PO document type.
    Please consider the Badi ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST
Application components: MM-PUR-PO, MM-PUR-PO-GUI : Main program: SAPLMEPO
The Business Add-In (BAdI) ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST enables you to extend the business logic of the Enjoy purchase order on an individual basis. You can thus influence the dialog transactions ME21N, ME22N, ME23N, and ME29N, and the BAPIs BAPI_PO_CREATE1 and BAPI_PO_CHANGE.
Typical applications for this BAdI include:
    Processing of own objects
Processing of additional data on standard objects
Implementation of additional checks and derivations
Change of data in standard fields
    1. Start of transaction
    Documentation for BADI method INITIALIZE
    2. Opening of a PO
    Documentation for BAdI method OPEN
    3. Checking of data
    Header data of PO
    Documentation for BAdI method PROCESS_HEADER
    Item data of PO
    Documentation for BAdI method PROCESS_ITEM
    Delivery schedule lines of PO
    Documentation for BAdI method PROCESS_SCHEDULE
    Account assignments in PO
    Documentation for BAdI method PROCESS_ACCOUNT
    Processing of Account Assignment Data
    Functionality
The PROCESS_ACCOUNT method enables you to change the account assignment data and check it for correctness.
    Parameters
    The following parameters are available:
    IM_ACCOUNT - Account assignment
The interface reference is of the type IF_PURCHASE_ORDER_ACCOUNT_MM. You can use all methods defined there.
    Note
Please note the general hints on Error Handling.
If you wish to mark the account assignment data as invalid, use the method INVALIDATE() of the IF_PURCHASE_ORDER_ACCOUNT_MM interface.

  • Documentation, success factor? Time consume? Tools, methods to use?

    Hello,
Some questions in my mind, Please share your experience and knowledge. This is not a very technical question, it's a discussion.
Experts, database team leaders, Consultants, managers, CTO, CEO can share their thoughts....
    - How many of you believe in documentation?
    - Is documentation a success factor or is it just a waste of time in some cases?
    - How much time should a database team spend on documentation per work day?
    - How to "invite" database team members to use, write, maintain the documentation; which "smart" methods can be used?
    - How can I know the documentation done is up to date? Should I just "trust" in my team members OR which "smarts" methods can be used to verify it?
    - Which methods, tools can be used of a good, complete documentation of the database libray, logical structure, procedures, jobs, backup / recovery, installation, migrations, etc ... ?
    Best regards,

Experts, database team leaders, Consultants, managers, CTO, CEO can share their thoughts....I am non of them...
    - How many of you believe in documentation? 100% (Because its the number i.e. 100% which is representation of completeness)
    - Is documentation a success factor or is it just a waste of time in some cases? It depends. It is waste of time only, if reader is either not having any approach to solve the problem or he/she is not doing practice as per instructions in docs.
    - How much time should a database team spend on documentation per work day?Rather than opening facebook, chat room, playing games etc. (of course they are also meant for a mean), but one should think that i am an Oracle DBA; so my first task in free hour is to read docs.
    - How to "invite" database team members to use, write, maintain the documentation; which "smart" methods can be used? Some sort of motivation in term of money and/or appraisals.
    - How can I know the documentation done is up to date? Should I just "trust" in my team members OR which "smarts" methods can be used to verify it?It depends. First you can ask for proper documentation, check it and make necessary correction (if any required). As far as matter of concern of trust, yes you can but not blindly.
    - Which methods, tools can be used of a good, complete documentation of the database libray, logical structure, procedures, jobs, backup / recovery, installation, migrations, etc ... ?As far as Oracle concern, i think there is no such great need to have documentation, because database dictionary is having all sort of metadata; but yes for DBA concern, you have to properly outlined the major in and outs of business, person, technical resources with higher administration that any DBA has to write procedure in this way, these are backup strategies, rules, Guideline for Installation, How to perform migration etc. If any DBA find fail to follow these "Working Manuals" then they might be punished by any mean.
I am not sure, how much all these are helpful, but i expressed my opinion/views.
