Does "Error 213:11" as non-admin go away once paid for?

After Roxio disappointed me for the last time, I tried trial versions of both Premiere Elements 11 and Premiere Pro 6.0.3. Both gave me similar problems when launched as a non-administrator on Windows 7 Pro. After initially launching either application with "Run as Administrator," presumably to get any initial post-setup setup done (yes I meant to say that), the application would launch precisely once as a non-admin, present me with a pop-up window with the Error 213:11 code, then exit. Subsequent launches would present me with the pop-up without actually launching.
If this is related to whatever copy protection Adobe uses, does this issue go away once the products are paid for?

Mine is from my wife's subscription to the Creative Cloud since we share a PC. So it is paid for. But I can't imagine that is the problem. It sounds more like a firewall issue is keeping the program from getting the permission it needs to run.

I was able to solve this for my users, buy giving them full permisions for two locations:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe
and
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe

  • "Error while printing" in non-Admin user

    I have a non-admin account (for my wife) in my iMac G5, and from some days ago, all applications refuse to print. A msg telling "Error while printing" appears, and the application trying to print crash in some sort of way.
    I can print the test page from the Printer Utility, so the printer (a Canon MP130) is fine.
    Entering with my Admin account, i have no problem printing.
    I check some help in Apple support, and as there is stated, i repaired permissions on both accounts.
    And the problem doesn't solve. Still, ALL applications gives this message.
    I'm not very tech in this, but i just note that the msg appears while the doc info is "going" to the printer, after i accept "Print" (spooling??)
    Does anyone knows what i can do to correct this?

  • Disabling Windows Explorer For Non Admins and Leaving it Enabled For Admins.

    Good evening,
    I am running a Citrix XenApp environment and I need to disable explorer.exe from running for non admin users. My team and I have discovered that exporer.exe can be accessed by any app that is being used by the end user and therefore can grant that user access
    to the XenApp server interface--this is a BIG NO NO!
    The users do not have admin rights when in explorer.exe but they can shutdown the server. I can disable a few areas such as the taskmgr, regedit, cmd, windows+x, and I can prevent the user from shutting down the system by only allowing them to log off,
    and prevent them from making changes to desktop icons, but it would be much preferred to stick it to the users and not allow them to access the XenApp server interface at all,
    I have tested changing the shell for explorer.exe from explorer.exe to iexplorer.exe and this worked fine (it only displayed the desktop wallpaper for the logged on user), but the change was not reversible. Luckily, I took a snapshot of my virtual test system
    before hand. 
    Is there a way to prevent Windows Explorer from running for all non admins and also so that the local administrator account is not affected by the change as well? I have also tried preventing explorer.exe from running via GPO but that didn't work.

  • Error:6 when a non-admin user tries to run Adobe Photoshop Elements 9

    Loaded Photoshop Elements 9 on a computer that is not on the internet and works fine as long as the user logging into the computer has admin privileges but a user who does not have admin priviledges gets an Error:6 that says to uninstall and reinstall the product.  Uninstalling and reinstalling the product has no effect.  I believe this to be that the normal user doesn't have permissions to a file somewhere that it needs to write to but can't seem to locate that file as I have given write permissions to Adobe under Programs & Common Files but no success.

  • Sniffer_gpu error/crash only when non-admin is logged in

    I successfully installed Adobe Master Collection CS4 on our lab machines at school, WIn XP Pro (machine has all MSFT updates).  Worked great for ANY local administrator.  But when a student, a NON-local admin logs in, he/she gets sniffer_gpu error when running PhotoShop, PixelBender and AfterEffects immediately; can't use these products at all.  I tried giving all users full control of C:\Program Files\Adobe and all sub folders and files and in the registry HKey_LocalMachine\Software\Adobe and all subkeys and still same prolem.  Any ideas?  It can't be an issue of drivers/etc 'cause the software works perfectly for all admins (like me and our "installuser" and "testuser" that is used to set up a machine.  We also have "Active Directory" policies on our login/domain controller servers.  But those policies only keep users from getting into things like the control panel and from installing/uninstalling software.
    Any knowledgeabel help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Well no answers from anyone so I went back to another hard drive that I had set up personally for this lab rather than using my default hard drive that someone from the county office of education had set up for me in another school district with their default settings and default software load.  Since somone else had set up that original machine in another school district the login used as the "installer" was an "unavailable" user in this school district.  That resulted in a whacky set of security rules in the registry, making some keys totally unavailable even to local admins in the hkey_classes_root, as I found other errors for other software titles as well.  So when I went to a hard drive that I had set up from scratch in this school district, everything is good to go, so far.  So, not using hard drives set up in other domains seems to be the answer.

    What discount is this?  Never heard of Apple accepting trade ins for discount on a new item.
    If you mean the Apple recycling plan, it is actually not run by Apple, but by a 3rd party recycling company.  They would be the ones to make the decision on how much you would get for your device.  Non-functional devices are not worth a whole lot though, so you should not expect much from them.

  • I have attempted to download ML but it does not install. The App store confirms I have paid for it, and while I have clicked yes to redownload, I am unable to find the file and it has not loaded automatically. Any help

    I have been asked several times if I want to redownload ML and answered yes, but nothing appears to happen and nothing installs. Somewhat surprisingly my internet service provider howevere has infrmed me I have exceeded my download limt today ( which suggests I have downloaded multiple copies of ML file, but I cannot find any evidence on my hard drive of where it has gone. Help appreciated.
    I am attempting to install ML on a 2009 Macbook pro, core2 duo, with 8mb RAM. I am currently running Lion 10.7.5.

    Problem resolved itself. Turned out that I had ben unable to contact the App store to confirm purchase. Once this resolved itself program downloaded properly and installation went without a hitch.

  • Unable to sync to iDisc when in non-admin account

    Hi,
    I use my non-admin account on my Mac for all of my work. iSync will only back up my work to my iDisc if I am logged into my admin account but not if I am logged in to my non-admin account. This means that iSync does not back up anything to iDisc that I have created when in my non-admin account. I get a dialog alert that states:
    "FileSyncAgent
    Unable to turn on iDisc syncing. Please check your MobileMe username and password in the MobileMe preference pane."
    I have no problem connecting when I am connected through my admin account so what gives? Anyone any ideas? Thank you for your help in advance.

  • Allowing Shockwave Player to run for non-admins

    Hi all, I see the following problem on and off for years now, with Adobe Flash and in particular Adobe Shockwave Player.
    I have a school that has a Windows 7 lab. Shockwave Player 11.6 is installed as part of the base image. It shows up in "Programs and Features"
    After it was initially installed, I tested the plug-in by going to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome and it worked fine.
    The problem I'm having is with non-admin users. Our students aren't local admins. Say they go to a website that has Shockwave content, for example, http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aso/tryit/dna/index.html
    When I (with a non-admin student account) click on the link to play the Shockwave content, a pop-up window appears. Then IE 9 displays a message "This webpage wants to run the following add-on: "Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6" from Adobe Systems Incorporated. Allow/Allow for all websites?" I don't want to see this again, so I click Allow for All websites. Then I get another window: "Adobe Shockwave Player is now installing....Installing compatibility components." So far, so good. The problem is, once the installation progress bar gets to the end, Windows User Access control pops up prompting for an admin user account and password to complete the install. Since they don't have an admin account, the install can't complete.
    How do I get Shockwave Player to "just work" for non admin users? I see for Flash there is this document at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/987370 about registry permissions, etc. Is there a similar solution for Shockwave Player?

    Hi ...   What does error -10810 mean ?  I could find anything on Google for this.

    It's a process table error, usually indicating a buggy third-party app. See the explanation here.
    A tricky point about searching for Mac errors in Google: always remove the minus sign.  If you search for (say) os X error -10810, Google will interpret the minus sign as a request to exclude all pages that contain the string 10810, which is exactly what you don't want. 

  • Multi-user system, non-admin-users get "error 46" when downloading quicktim

    Thanks in advance if you have some idea about where the root cause is.
    Error message:
    "Error 46: Could not load or find the QuickTime ActiveX control."
    Context:
    - WinXP SP2 fully patched (as of 06/20/2006)
    - Multiple users: 1-Admin, all others a member of the Users group
    - Simple File Sharing is enabled (this problem does not change when this option is disabled)
    - iTunes 4.9.x and QuickTime 7.1 installed
    - Programs have been uninstalled and reinstalled several times, with no change
    Symptoms:
    - All system users can view quicktime movies when they are embedded in web pages.
    - Administrator can launch quicktime and view *.mov files, all others get Error 46 (see above) when attempting to launch quicktime or double-clicking on .mov files
    - File association properties (under Contorl Panel | Folder Options | File Types) shows .mov opens with QuickTime Player (deselecting this displays WMP as the application)
    - Users Browsing to a directory where .mov files are located, displays the WMP icon instead of quicktime (as under folder options)
    This all used to work. It appears that this became broken in the last month or two, after either patching XP, or installing QuickTime 7.1 to gain H.264 codec functionality.
    Is there a guaranteed way to force system wide file assoc that is reliable?
    Is there a tool that parses the registry and displays what activeX controls are in use for a particular system operation?

    Fixed this using http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html and regedit.exe.
    On my system, found that non-admin users were being denied access to these registry keys:
    HKEYCLASSESROOT\QTOControl.QTControl
    HKEYCLASSESROOT\QTOControl.QTControl.1
    fix (both): add group users: read
    That's because the non-admin accounts are members of the "users" group on my system. You may need to adjust this to match what is on your system.
    Regedit can modify these permissions (but don't do it unless you are confident you can recover if you cause a problem). An easy fix, once the problem is identified. Some of you have already figured this out already.
    Use regmon to get comfortable with how it works, make sure you grok the filtering, it's your friend.
    Modifying the registry at your own risk. Remember to use a registry backup utility! I used http://www.fixregistry.com/download.htm "Registry Healer"
    All non-admin users are operational at this time. I did not have to update iTunes and H.264 content works!
    So it looks like this is a bug in the QuickTime 7.1 installer? Anyone have any insight about why this is happening with some regularity (at least according to the message board posts I'm seeing this month...)

  • Flash player does not work on Non Admin accounts

    I have 2 citrix servers running Windows Server 2k3. Flash
    installs and plays fine as the administrator, but once logged in as
    a regular user. Flash does not work. I have set the security
