Does Report Builder 6i support Spatial Functions

Does Report Builder 6i support spatial functions? I would like to use the following query in a report:
SELECT id, rseq
FROM gps a, user_sdo_geom_metadata m
WHERE m.table_name = 'GPS'
and mdsys.sdo_lrs.is_geom_segment_defined (a.geom, m.diminfo) = 'FALSE' and a.id like '01%'
It does not recognize the spatial LRS function. This query does not return geometries but rather will only return tabular information.
Thanks
Dave

Hello,
Your colleague is right. Even if the SQL query is executed by the DB server , Reports needs to parse the SQL query.
The SQL parser included in Reports 6i is based on 8.0.6
You can see this version in the Reports Builder help :

  • Does Struts frame work supports Onclick function or not ...?

    HI,
Does TLD support Onclick() onMouseOver Function or not ...?

What? Haven't you read what this forum is about?
By the way STRUTS just copies the attribute to underlying html (meaning the language, not the string) tag (if onclick is allowed, as you can easily check reading tld or pressing Ctrl+Space in any IDE). So support depends on the browser. Bye.

My MSSQL Server express 2014 edition x64  and My desktop "Report Builder (RB) 3.0' is 32bit (x86).
Does Report Builder x64 exist? I didn't see anywhere so I downloaded x86 RB

    Hi mujb,
Per my understanding you are using the report builder 3.0 to design the report and when you click the query designer button to execute the query you got the error message above, right?
I have tested on my local envornment and your issue can be caused by the user "SQLServer2014\Mubs"  and "mujb-HP\mujb"  haven't grant permission to the report server or the shared dataeource/dataset if you have used this.
I would like to confirm if you have assigned both the Item-Level and System-Level role of the user above to sucessfully access the report server, If you haven't grant any access to the above user and when you connect to the report server in the report builder,
you may got the error message:
More details information below for your reference:
Please execute the query in the microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to see if you have permission to execute the query.
If the query works fine in step1, please run the report builder as Administrator and if you are using the shared datasource/dataset the issue can be cause by the you haven't grant access the share datasource, Double click to open the Datasource
and click the "Test Connection" as below to test if it can connect successfully:
If the "Test Connection" failed, please click the shared datasource/dataset on Report Server to check if you have grant correct permission.

  • Does the 6600GT-VTD128 support video capture?

    Hi,
I recently purchased an MSI 6600GT-VTD128 video card.  The product information seems to suggest that the card has video input capabilities, and there is an adapter that plugs into the card that has a number of connections, one of which is labeled S-Video in.  However, I haven't been able to get any video capture to work.
Does the card actually support this functionality?  If not, what are the video input connections for?  If so, is there some documentation as to how to set it up?
So far, I tried installing the video capture drivers that come with the card.  I checked the manual.  I checked the MSI web site FAQs.  And I searched the forums.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Daniel

Thanks Richard.  Yes I do have a breakout cable like that.  Actually, I described it in my original message.  So, I am guessing from your message that you believe that the card should have the capability to capture video.
In my original message, I asked if there was any documentation on setting up the card for video capture.  The manual does not describe the procedure, nor does the MSI web site.
There are drivers on the CD that claim to be for video capture, but they had no effect when I installed them.  In fact, there appears to be no way to tell whether the drivers were actually installed successfully.
If anyone out there has successfully used this card for video capture, please let me know.

  • Print information from a row - Report Builder 3.0 - printer button option?

Does Report Builder have any way of printing information from a row selection onto a page, rather than the whole report?  I don't think it has a print button option when you create the report?

    Hi KittyCat101,
According to your description, you want to select some particular rows when printing the report. Just as you said, there is no such feature in Reporting Services.
To work around this issue, we can create a parameter with the key field value in the report. Then we can print the particular rows based on the selection in the parameter. For more details, please see:
Create a multiple parameter named filter in the report.
Specify Available Values and Default Values from the dataset key field which is acted as filter when printing the report.
Add a filter as below in the tablix:
    Expression: [Key field]
    Operator: In
    Value: [@filter]
When we render the report in report builder, it displays all data. While we can select the particular rows in the drop-down list when we want to print the report.
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,

  • How to merge 2 or more Report Builder reports and output as one pdf

I'm in a J2E shop in which I develop Oracle reports that are called and published by the application as jsp's. I need display output multiple reports sequentially and then print them out (as one pdf). All component reports currently exist as their own jsp file so the desire is to string together these JSP's without recreating them in a single jsp thereby doubling maintenance.
Does report builder have an option to do this or is there code that can be added at the end of a Report Builder jsp file that will call the next jsp sequentially.

    Hello,
I do not believe that Report Builder has a way to merge multiple PDF's into a single output file. I found a FREE product that will merge multiple PDF's into a single file that you could use as long as merging the outputs one after another is acceptable.
Go to http://www.somepdf.com and look at their product.
    Good luck,
    Don.

  • Do Report Builder support custom SQL Functions

    Hi All,
I’m new to SSRS Report builder. I had written a SQL query which executes really well when I run in Management Studio. I tried to put that same query in new report to everyone can easily access.  I build the DataSource and connection successfully tested.
At the time of creating new Dataset, I pasted same query and that’s where I got stuck.
Is it possible to add custom SQL Functions in the Report Builder SSRS?
The Syntax of method is as follow
    Create Function [dbo].[ufn_Sqlstatement]( @str as varchar(max)) RETURNS varchar(max)
    Thanks in Advance

You do not need to put the create function script into the query. It only needs to be executed once. Instead, run it on the database server. Then, simply call the function from your query:
    SELECT dbo.ufn_SQLstatement('select * from table')

I would strongly suggest that the reports development team's idea to contact Support on this is a flawed one. I had very similar issues with my reports builder except that the Dr. Watson happened every where (even while just invoking reports builder) - opening the layout editor when graphics were involved, running the report, using the chart wizard, etc.
I opened a TAR on this with Support. Their response? We can't reproduce it on our computer so bad luck and good bye.
All I ask is that the reports team give us something to be able to provide some kind of function call trace information when the Dr. Watson does occur.
I use patchset 5a. Also, btw, I tried to run a report with graphics on Solaris from the builder and guess what? It core-dumped. Any way to send you guys trace files from there atleast?
Calling support is not an acceptable solution.

  • [ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function

    HI every body
In Win Server 2008 R2 , I tried to retrieve data from my ODBC Driver
by Report Builder , my connection test is successful , but after any retrieve data by SQL Statement I encounter with this Error :
IM0001: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function
I use Win Server 2008 R2 , and my ODBC Driver installed on :
    %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
Can anyone help me to solve this problem, its realy urgent for me ,
    PLEASE HELP ………………..

ODBC Driver name is PMSDK (32 bit) and installed by Primavera software
I use SQL Report Builder to connect the driver and try SQL Statement in it
Report Builder may be executing an ODBC function to retrieve meta data, and that function is not supported by the PMSDK driver.  Are you using the latest version of the PMSDK driver?  You might try turning on ODBC tracing to find out the problem
    function.

  • Refresh of a Report Builder Dataset does NOT show newly added field

I'm working with Report Builder 2.0 (we don't plan on getting SQL 2008 R2 - so NO 3.0 for us!) and have found that if I have an existing report using an existing stored procedure (it has 4 existing parameters) and I add a new field to the stored procedure
    it will not refresh the
data set.  I have gone to the DataSet properties and executed the query(SPROC) where it does show the new field (so I know the sproc will
execute), but when I click OK and hit Refresh Fields it stops responding.  I also tried the same steps without the Refresh Fields and still stops responding.  I also tried to add the field name and it errored out as invalid.
The only work around I've found is to
create a new dataset referencing the updated SPROC with a different name, deleting the old dataset and then re-naming the newer dataset with the old
one's name so all the field references are the same.  I do know that in the case of renaming
a field in a sproc that this would end BADLY because there is no way any of the old field's references would work.
But it seems odd I have to go through so much to refresh for new fields, so perhaps I'm missing a step in dealing with this situation.  Any recommendations would be appreciated.

    Hi CinBH,
I understand that the Report Builder 2.0 hangs while flush the dataset by executing the query. In that case, I think it is necessary to capture a user dump when the problem occurred. And then, you can send the dump to Microsoft CSS support. Support Professionals
from Microsoft will assist you to solve the problem.
I am providing the steps below for you to gather the hang dump or crash dump to further work on this issue,
    Hang dump,
    a. Open Report Builder as usual, and wait for a while.
    b. When you found that the Report Builder application hang, and was not responding, please open TaskManager by one of follws,
    - Pressing “Ctrl + Alt + Del” button and then click “Start Task Manager” item.
    - Or right-clicking your task bar, click “Start Task Manager”menu.
    c. Once the Task Manager opened, switch to Process tab, find the “Report Builder” process MSReportBuilder.exe.
    d. Right-click the item, click Create dump file.
    e. After that, it will prompt a window and let you know the location of the dump file.
You can copy the hang dump or crash dump file to your development machine configured with symbols files, and open it in Visual Studio 2008. Next, you can analyze the error / exception, and call stacks to see why the error happens.
    Thanks,
    Eileen

  • Report Builder: can i define a function in  the rdf file ?

    Hi All,
About the report builder, can i define a function in the rdf file ? and then i want invoke it in the report SQL, just like :
function Get_Ap_Prepay_Balance(p_Invoice_Id IN NUMBER, p_End_Date IN DATE) RETURN NUMBER IS
    l_Amount number;
    begin
    RETURN l_Amount;
    end;
    thanks.

You can create functions in reports, but slightly different from doing it in PL/SQL
    function Get_Ap_Prepay_Balance return number is
    l_Amount number;
    begin
assuming that you have invoice_id in your select statement and p_End_Date is a report parameter, you can refer to them in your function as :p_End_Date and :invoice_id
    for example select prepay_amount_remaining into l_Amount from ap_invoice_distributions where invoice_id = :invoice_id and accounting_date = :p_End_Date
    return(l_Amount);
    hope this helps

  • Does Numbers support Excel functions CELL, SUBSTITUTE, and REDIRECT?

Been trying to find the list of Excel-compatible functions but did not succeed. I would like to use Numbers to edit my Excel files in iPad. I often generate reports by pulling data out from a seperate sheet using Excel functions like CELL, SUBSTITUTE, and REDIRECT. I have not purchased Numbers yet, that is why I would like to know where I find the complete list of Excel-compatible functions or at least know if Numbers support these functions.  Thank you in advance.

Numbers does support the function substitute()
I did not see the functions cell() and redirect() in the function browser.

To see which ODBC function DG4ODBC is looking for and unixODBC isn't supporting it would be best to get an ODBC trace file. But as your unixODBC driver (unixODBC-2.2.11-10.el5) is outdated and these old drivers had a lot of issues when being used on 64bit operating systems (for example wrong sizeofint etc). So best would be to update the unixODBC Driver manager to release 2.3.x. More details can be found on the web site: www.unicodbc.org

  • How to use LIKE function with a parameter in Oracle REPORT builder??

how could i use parameter inside a LIKE function in Oracle reports builder?
it works in SQL plus, but not in report builder!!
    Example:
select code, desc from item_master where desc
    like '%&give_desc%'; ---works in SQL
like '%:give_desc%' ---doesn't work in report builder!!

    Hi Renil,
You will need to use the wildcard character (%) and the concatenation character (||) to join to your user parameter.
    i.e. like '%'||:give_desc||'%'
    Regards,
    John
