i have garageband for my ipad 2,but i wan't to install it on my old ipad....Where / or how can i find the old version 1.4.1?
A full version of GarageBand cannot be downloaded - you have to buy it. If the MacBook has originally been sold with Mac OS X (10.6.8), GarageBand may be on the installer disks, that came with MacBook - check the CD with the bundled applications. If not, try to buy an iLife '11 installer at Amazon. The early iLife '11 installers should run with your system version.

After purchasing and downloading GarageBand on App Store the software won't start and switch to download over and over the software. It's virtually impossible to reach someone from Apple for support grrrrrrr.... So can someone could kindly give me a clue or solution for this issue?

if that does not help, repair the permissions on your system drive using the "First Aid" panel in "Disk Utility" (launch from Application > Utilities)
And if this does not help, reinstall Garageband:
Quit the AppStore.
Move the GarageBand Application to the Trash, but do not empty the Trash.
Reopen the AppSTore and sign in again with the same account you used to buy GarageBand. Now you should be able to download GarageBand again and to reinstall it.

I did this a few weeks ago to be sure it was going to work for a young person I was giving my ipod to. Then I reset the information for her and now it will not load. Very sad. She is so talented and she really needs this. Anyone know?

I just got a new imac, App store says I downloaded garageband update and it says it's installed. But there's nothing new to it. Is there something I'm suppose to do? I restarted the imac, no difference
Weird, that's not the one I was initially downloading but I think that is the one that installed, so I think that solves that. But now the problem is that the one I was updating is no longer being shown. It's over 1gb that had all the loops and instruments.
Now when I try to use say strings lunar strings. It tells me to download at app store. It doesn't show. I go back to garageband try again and says the instrument or loop is currently being installed. But it's not. -

I bought my new Mac not too long ago, 27" desktop OS X version 10.7.2. It's an ex demo model from the store, but was only on display for about 6 weeks.
I've been trying to download Garageband, but whenever I do, a message pops up saying "These apps cannot be accepted on this computer. Future updates of these apps can be found through Software Update."
I'm not sure what's going on, but as far as I'm aware Garageband should be fully capable to run on my computer. Am I missing something??
CheersIt appears that it *thinks* it was installed from DVD. Check for Garageband receipts, if they are there, delete them, and try the app store again.
You may need to go back to the store to sort it out or get iLife on a DVD. -

I got the OS X Lion 10.7.3. App store just says someting like this "This computer can't accept these programs. You can get the upcoming updates for these programs by software update".
Does it mean that i need to update the whole OS X?The last owner probably trashed the iflie apps.
I think it should have come with DVD with the os and software. You can install from a external DVD or a DVD player on another computer (Mac or PC) wirelessly.
You should be able to buy iLife app from the app store. Your mac may still think the apps are installed. Maybe trash the Garageband (ilife) preferences folders or re-indexing the volume will help. -
Hi I need Garageband to do some audio recording but when I tried to download Garageband 10.1 which is the only one showing available for downloads it says it won't download to my Macbook Pro 10.8.5
Where do I find on that will in Australia!? Apparently you have down load into I TUNES and then I'm told the Australian Apple Itunes store doesn't have Garageband available!!

If it came with your mac it should be on your install disk.
To use the newest Garageband you will need Mavericks. -
Long story short, I downloaded garageband and deleted it in the trash can and emptied it. When i o to the apple store it says that its installed but i cant find it nowhere in the iMac. Please help
Yet another example of why it's a VERY BAD IDEA to do a clean install of Lion unless you are already VERY familiar with how to tweak the Mac OS. There's a reason Apple engineers removed it as an option. To accomplish it you have to erase your disk; not for the faint hearted.
Do you have a backup? PLEASE don't tell us you did this without a robust backup.
You erased the operating machine, so your computer went to the only place it could find one, the Recovery partition. And it's minimal, so it has to download everything in small chunks to reinstall itself. So yeah, it could take 10 hours.
Here's another option. Do you still have the original disks that came with your machine? Put one in and restart from it. You can reinstall your old system much faster. Then go to the Mac App Store and your purchase history and see if you can redownload Lion (I think that still works).
And this time just do yourself a favor and install per Apple's instructions. When the machine starts into Lion, use Setup ***'t (the first thing that fires up) to migrate from your backup.

All of the instruments are listed. It prompts you if you want to buy all of the instruments if you try to use one that is locked. If you bought your device after the iOS 7 release, you're fine and all of the instruments are unlocked.

Trouble downloading GarageBand
Earlier today I saw GarageBand available for iPod touch users! Yay I was so excited! I saw it required around 503MB and I knew I only had around 200mb available. Anyways, I did some cleaning of my iPod and got to 1.2 GB free space. Went to iTunes (all on my touch, no access to Mac) and went to download GarageBand but it said something like "not enough space, delete some photos or videos." I already got rid of everything I could. Still with the error. Why is it saying this when I have enough space? Specs: 8GB iPod touch 4 running iOS 4.3 which I checked and GarageBand is compatible with 4.3 or later. And remember I have no access to my Mac so I can't update to iOS 5. Thank you in advance for any advice or answers!

No. GarageBand '11 only runs on suitable Mac computers. GarageBand for iPad only runs on iPads.

10.9 is free, so you could upgrade to that if you wished
if that's not an option for software compatibility reasons, you'd either need to re-install it from the original disks (that came with the computer, or a seperate iLife disc), a backup, or purchase a boxed version from someplace like eBay or Amazon (Amazon has iLife '11 for $39) -
How do I stop GarageBand '11 Loops from downloading after I first download GarageBand?
I have just downloaded GarageBand from the Mac App Store, and want to use it to create ringtones from existing tracks in iTunes. That part is not a problem. The problem I am having is that when I open GarageBand, it wants to download 1.2GB of loops. I am on a slow internet connection (has been throttled by ISP as we have not exceeded a poor download limit), and do not have the time to wait for it to download before I can use GarageBand.

How do i successfully download GarageBand lessons?
I have recently repeatedly tried to download GarageBand lessons but the download always fails and quits before even one of them is completed.
Perhaps a firewall or antivirus filter is interfering with the connection to the App Store.

Could there be a problem with your country settings? Have you bought GarageBand in a different country or with a different AppleID? -
I downloaded GarageBand to Ipad2 for $4.99 and worked fine. When I updated Ipad2 to Iso5 it automatically took Garageband off my iPad2 and downloaded it to my Iphone4. So I removed it from iPhone4 and when I go to download again at app store onto my IPad it says it is downloaded but when searching for icon on Ipad2, it won't show up at all. I have tried hard reset and all. Help!!!
