Downloading Sap Office Document in Webdypro

Hello All,
I have to provide a link to a document that is present in SAP Office Folder.
I am able to read the document using SO_OBJECT_GET_CONTENT. But the contents are in the form of a table of character type.
The File download UI Component of Webdynpro requires the content to be in  Raw string format.
Is there anyway I can convert or any function method that gives me the data in Raw format.
Thanks,
Anand

Thanks Thomas,
I was able to find a function some time back.
SO_SOLITAB_TO_SOLIXTAB.
This can also be used for converting the content to hex.

  • SAP Office Document - open in customcontainer

    HI,
i try to open to SAP Office Document in "inplace" mode in my own dympro.
Therefore I have an reference of a CL_DOCUMENT_BCS class. There is an interface with a if_document_display_bcs ~ display_outplace method and a if_document_display_bcs ~ display_inplace method. The first one works very well. But the second one does not seem to do that.
I want to view this document in a custom container of my screen l Is this possible?
    kind regards
    Micha

response.setHeader ("Content-Disposition","inline;filename=" + vo.getFileName()); This is the line that causes it to open in a browser.
The problem here is that you are using a link to a document...or it appears that way. I dont have any experience with a link to a direct document.
What I've always done is in the Java class I read the document into an object, then write that object to the ServletOutputStream.
    So something like this:
    1) Set Headers
    2) Get word document into some sort of Java object
    3) Write that object to the ServletOutputStream
My documents are mostly built on the fly, so hence I need an object anyhow. If you store your files in the database, you will need one too.
I personally would attack it the same way if my files were on the OS as I'd never want a direct link to a physical file. Rather I'd want a link to a page which opens a file.

  • Archiving SAP Office documents

    Hi.
I am looking for ways to archive mail sent from SAP. So far I have not found any archiving objects for e-mail. Are there anyone that have found a solution for archiving e-mail in archiving systems, such as CommonStore?

  • Force download of Office document in a manner that works for anonymous users.

    Hello,
We have SharePoint 2013 with Office Web Apps server.  A large portion of our site is accessible by the public.  In a couple of places, we have Word documents linked, and we would like the behavior in these spot instances to be to download the file
(i.e., give a "Save As" dialog), rather than to try to open them from the server (resulting in a login challenge).
I'm aware that some use download.aspx in the layouts folder to achieve this, but that doesn't work anonymously.  Any other ideas?  Bonus points for anything that can be maintained easily by my user base (though not required).

If possible you can use HTML5 'download' attribute, this will open the 'Save As' dialog regardless of file type without taking
    you away from the page.

  • How to integrate and index SAP R/3 Office documents into  resp. through KM

    Hi,
Is there a way to integrate an existing store of SAPOffice documents on R/3, stored by default in the SAP R/3 table SOFFCONT1 (KPro repository SOFFDB), into the KM on the portal, so that these documents can be indexed and searched through TREX from the portal ?
I know there is the SAP DMS KM Connector available right now, but apparently this connector only allows access to documents stored in DMS on R/3.
What the best approach to this problem.
Could a migration of these documents to SAP Content Server be a solution ?
Thanks in advance for your input.

    Vishal,
    Thanks for your suggestions.
I think building a custom connector (RM) is indeed the best option.
I am not an ABAP developer, more familiar with KMC
Could you point me to some more detailed information on the BDS/KPro APIs. Are these also available as BAPIs, callable from an external Java application.
Something else, the SAP Office documents I am referring to are actually attachments to Notifications in R/3s QM module. So, the documents I want to build a RM for are   these QM notifications (the parent business documents) and their related attachments (the SOFFCONT1 stored docs).
Could you point out which RFC modules I will need to get at both (bizdoc + attachments).
Thanks in advance for your input

  • Sap Office PDF to ArchiveLink

In one of our workflow we create a PDF in SAP office with the request information that we send to the employee. If the request is approved, HR people archive this in the employee archive. This is done manually and takes lots of time.
We want to do this automatically. We have already have a archivelink link to our archive.
Is it possible and if how to copy the SAP office document to our archive by archivelink. We also need to specify the correct archive.
    Some documentation would be helpfull.

    Hi,
Check the function group ARCHIVOBJECT (not sure if this was spelled correctly, but check for example function ARCHIVOBJECT_GET_TABLE and its function group). This function group includes many useful functions which you can use to programatically archive documents with archivelink. There is also lots of examples in SDN - just search with some of the functionas that you can find and look promising.

I upgraded to Mountain lion. I could not open any of my word documents so i downloaded Libre Office. It is downloaded but how do I get it to work with my old documents??

I don't know what file formats LibreOffice supports, but my guess is it can only handle the OpenXML format (new Office docs).
You could use this online converter: http://www.zamzar.com/convert/doc-to-docx/

  • OWA 2013 - No download option for office documents

Using Chrome, Firefox and IE browsers I do have a "download" option right next to the attachment as long as the attachment is NOT an office document (.doc,xls,ppt,etc). If the attachment is an image, a download link is right next to the attachment
    as expected.
But if the attachment is for example a .docx file I only have a preview option available and no download. Also right-click to Save-As only shows an HTML download.
    I have enabled in ECP

  • Why office documents download is so slow in a specific mail provider?

I have macbook air and few days ago it started to be so slow to download office documents in a specific mail provider. The others download are fine. Can someone help me?

Are you sure the problem isn't the provider?  There have been providers in the past that were offering services, often free, but when you read the fine print they say that if you exceed a set amount of data transfer they reserve the right to restrict your access speed.  Others also say that but don't often enforce it.
Check the conditions of the provider and see if they are restricting your speed.

  • Editing office documents online after Integrating them from Windows

    Hello all,
After following these instructions http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/ed/b334ea02a2704388d1d2fc3e4298ad/content.htm  to integrate our windows system into the portal, I'd like users to have the ability to edit documents online. I've seen it happen in other situation in BI where the portal is calling "Office Web Components" right inside your IE session, so users don't have to download/upload etc.. And then after editing your spreadsheet/document you're just hitting the save button.
Is there such possibility? Is it only possible with manual developing..?
    Regards,
    Samer

    Hi,
Dont get confused with local and online editing.
The link I sent has both informations, but the information that you need for your usecase is only Online Editing.
OnlineEditing: Is done Online in the portal. You can edit documents with the MIME type text/* directly in the portal (online).
Local Editing: You edit locally on the client PC.
So all the activeX things are only for Local Editing, which is not relavent for your usec case.
So the only option for you is to do custom development to implement OnlineEditing for office documents.

  • Downloading SAP NetWeaver Portal

I was wondering if I could get some help in downloading the trail version of SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.1.
I downloaded SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version. I am installing the SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Part 1. But it seems that this package does not include the Net Weaver Portal. How do I get the portal installed? Did I get the right package of NetWeaver? My project has to do with Content Management and I was interested in the Knowledge Management component of Net Weaver Portal.
Please help me guide through the process. Thanking you in advance.

Yes, it supports creating and editting documents through a simple approval/workflow mechanism.
Through WebDAV it can be used from Office.
    It doesn't do document conversion.
Try the SAP Help pages http://help.sap.com for NetWeaver and there you will see KM...

  • Different behaviour between IE6 and IE on opening Office documents via KM

    Hi all,
we're in the process of rolling out Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) and noticed something unexpected when opening non-html documents from a KM navigation iview. When clicking on the links in the ivew the documents are all opened in a new window because the hyperlink / href contains "target=_blank". When the document itself is for instance an Excel document, the browser will ask wether you want to open the document or not. When you choose to open the document, Excel launches and the blank IE6 window is closed in the background. When the user is done with the document he or she will return to the portal screen.
This nice behaviour does not occur with IE7. The blank window remains open so when the user closes the Office document they are looking at an empty IE7 screen.
Is there any way to fix this by customization or even by code change? It seems to me that this is more a SAP issue because for all HTML pages and for all documents that have IE plugins such as PDF'syou want to open a new window but for the others you want only the application to be lauched, not an empty IE.
