DropDown in each table row

Question

Hi,
using ADF BC and JSF, I'm not able to display drop down in each row like described in Steve Muench screencast if the ID field is DBSequence. When it's set to Number everything works well, but if I change it to DBSequence I get WARNING: Could not find selected item matching value "22" in CoreSelectOneChoice[UIXEditableFacesBeanImpl, id=_id4]... I have to use DBSequence, because in other pages I'm inserting rows in that table. I can create another entity and view but that's not a good solution. Any suggestions.

I've never used custom converters so I'm lost. I'm trying to follow this example http://www.oratransplant.nl/2007/05/08/custom-jsf-converter-to-display-minutes-as-hhmm/
but so far without success.
this is my converter class:

My faces-config.xml:

I cannot add converter to af:selectItem only before or after, so how should I apply converter to af:selectItem and is my approach ok or not.
