Droplists: explicit widget width, dynamic item field
Hello,
Does anyone know how to have the item list that drops down from a droplist
expand dynamically to fit the longest item
in the field? We need to keep the widget itself and explicit size. Some
of our items are very similar, so when they
are cut off in the field, the choice is ambiguous.

Probably all those double-quotes causing syntax errors. You
need to concatenate the image source name.
Try adding this between the TD tag and the IMG tag:
<%x = "Pix/tn_" &
rsOneProduct.Fields.Item("ProductID") & ".jpg"%>
Then change the vbscript inside the SRC attribute to:
<%=x%>

Is there a way to change the width of the fields in a shuttle item? I have some rather long data items that I'm using in a shuttle. The field width is so narrow that the majority of the data is not displayed. I'm using APEX 4.1
Oddly enough, I actually did search the forum before posting. Apparently I didn't submit the appropriate search terms to yield the answer I needed, but somehow I was able to put the correct terms into the title of the post. I'll have to pay a little closer attention next time. My apologies for transgressing forum etiquette, and thank you for gently pointing it out.

Dynamic recordset field width.
When I'm placing my fields on my form in my table the width of the field is set to the width of the description of the field and the recordset name ( {myrecordset.myfieldname} ) even though the data of the field may be much smaller than that description, which leaves a lot of empty space on my report.
Given the above example if this were a field that contained a 5 digit zipcode the form would show the width of 23 ( "myrecordset.myfieldname" ) instead.
Can this be adjusted and how would I do that?

Making a dynamically generated field as Read Only
Hi All,
I am extending a standard CO and in that I wanted to make an entire table as read only. I checked by personalizing the page from front end, but as the items are dynamically generated fields , they are not visible in personalize page.
So is there any way to cach these fields and make them read only programmatically.

I have looked into the view source and took the name of a input type ( There is no ID for the field) and used it in findIndexedChild, but it returns a null. I guess this is happening is the current CO is a mere region level CO and it is not being given the access.

Dynamic Items - Restoring values on error
I've got a page with some dynamic items. When I display a error on the page the values do not restore to reflect changes that the user made, rather the values stored in the DB. This makes sense as my code does not check to see if a error occurred.
I'd like to check if a error occurred and if it did I can restore the user changes using the htmldb_application.g_fxx(x) function. So I'm wondering how do I know if a error occurred? i.e. is their a variable like the REQUEST variable which will be set if a error occurred?
Now a bit on a side topic, when dealing with error validation of dynamic items I run into the following issue. I do the validation through one pl/sql check. It checks that all the fields have values in it. Imagine there are 5 fields (1 through 5), and the first 2 are empty. My error message says "Field 1 is empty... Field 2 is empty"... That all works but the page just says "1 error has occurred" and I have to list all the problems under that 1 error. I'd like it say "2 errors have occurred" instead. How can I do that when I only have 1 validation function? Is their a variable that I can increment for each error I find?update

Autopopulate Dynamic Dropdown Field LC Designer
I am trying to autopopulate dynamically created dropdown fields within another section of a form.
Here is what I am trying to do:
I have a report (home inspection) that is also an estimate for repairs. I have several section of the report that have a button to add additional items (e.g. Kitchen, Living Room, ect). The button dynamically adds new items for each area (e.g. Kitchen, Living Room, ect). Code is below, what I want to do is have all of the dynamically created items appear in the estimate section of the report but am not able to figure out the best way to do this. Basically, all of the items that appear in the report also need to be in the estimate and I need to figure out a way to have the items duplicated from the report to the estimate. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I don't think, that it is possible to change the values of the dropdown by changing only the xml-file.
I found another solution:
1. open the form in Acrobat Pro
2. select in the menu bar Form->Manage Form Data->Import Data
3. choose your current xml-file
4. save the form
Now the values are available.
To change the values, you have to repeat these 4 steps with a new xml-file.

Adding a progress loader to a dynamic text field / scrollPane
I have a dynamic text field which is loading images from an external html. This text is named scrollPaneImage and is a child of a movieClip called scrollPaneContent. I then load scrollPaneContent into a scroll pane named scrollPane
When the user interacts with my swf different images are loaded into scrollPaneImage. Since some of the images take a few seconds to load, I'd like there to be a progress loader displayed in the scrollpane.
I have tried adding the progress event listner to the dynamic text, the movie clip and the scrollpane and cannot get it to respond or track the loading.

Dynamic item Proposal is nothing but listing the materials to customers
use t.code va51 and use document type PV
and maintain the list and save system will generate the document number
that same document number u have to assgin to customer master in sales area view , sales tab page : item proposal field and assgn the number
and now raise the order , select the item proposal field insales order u will get the list (ctrl+F11)

We have developed cross tab layout using template builder v.10.1.3.2.1 in EBS.I am trying to increase column width dynamically and the width is coming xml.
i looked at document and found one command <?split-column-width:name?> for the same.i tried but it is not increasing the size of one column.

How to add dynamic jquery fields into DB
I am using the script from: http://www.coldfusionjedi.com/index.cfm/2009/2/19/Using-jQuery-to-add-form-fields to dynamically add fields to a form. I am having trouble actually inserting the fields into a DB. It seems that the field name is the same each time so they just get combined into one variable. For instance, if field 1 is "John" and they add another person and his name is "Frank" field1 becomes, "John, Frank".
I have a few more fields then that, so I am unsure how to proceed. Anyone have any ideas or code samples that have worked for them? Essentially I am trying to loop through the form and insert each additional field seperately.
Any ideas?

DLINR - Dynamic Item number - problem, please help

We have a problem with one of our quotation enhancements:
For DP82, we have an enhancement in place for one of our DIP profiles.
Anyway, we are sending component data to DP82 with several custom fields in place. In our enhancement, Dynamic item numbers (DLINR) are assigned to the components via FM AD11_DLI_GET.
However, some of the components are assigned the same DLINR number.
The problem with this is that after our enhancement runs, a standard program calls a standard FM that reads back our component data (FM AD15_DLIS_FOR_OBJECTS_READ). The data read back shows all components with the same DLINR numbers combined into one component. This is wrong.
What is the importance of DLINR (dynamic item) numbers? Do they need to be assigned?
What do I do?

Anyway, we are sending component data to DP82 with several custom fields in place. In our enhancement, Dynamic item numbers (DLINR) are assigned to the components via FM AD11_DLI_GET.
However, some of the components are assigned the same DLINR number.
The problem with this is that after our enhancement runs, a standard program calls a standard FM that reads back our component data (FM AD15_DLIS_FOR_OBJECTS_READ). The data read back shows all components with the same DLINR numbers combined into one component. This is wrong.
What is the importance of DLINR (dynamic item) numbers? Do they need to be assigned?
What do I do?

Dynamic mandatory field error message is not getting displayed in webui

In Appointment if the importance is HIGH i made Location as mandatory.For this i enhanced BT126H_APPT/ApptDetails. In the get_p_location() method of BTACTIVITYYH i have written the code.
Now the problem is Error message for this dynamic mandatory field is not getting displayed in webui.
I debugged in DO_FINISH_INPUT error message is getting generated but it is not getting displayed in ui.
Can anybody tell where the problem is?

How ever quick solution for your problem would be just keep your validation in 'DO_VALIDATE_INPUT' method of the view controller.
Means even if the User clicks on SAVE , Since it fails here , it would not allow you to go further.

Dynamic Text Field is not displaying foreign characters... HELP!
I have a dynamic text field that is not displaying foreign characters properly. They appear as boxes.
Here's what I've tried.
Under properties for the text field, I clicked on the embed characters button. In there, I pasted all the special characters I would need and clicked okay. Shouldn't this be enough for the text to display properly? What am I missing? Please help...More info: I'm noticing that in the actual dynamic text field in my .FLA file, if I type a foreign character like é, it pops up as a block. My family font is set to New Caledonia... is it possible that New Caledonia doesn't have those particular glyphs? The thing that doesn't make sense to me though is, last year when I made this card, it worked fine with New Caledonia... Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Is it possible to display only dynamically selected fields in the out put? i need to display set of columns in the selection criteria, but in the output i have display only input given fields. because i need to convert it into .csv file. So i have to display selected fields from internal table. In oracle they are using"execute immediate". is there any equivalent in SAP?

If yes, there are concepts like RTTS which facilitates it.
Yes, the select query also supports dynamic selection of fields. ( Please care about ( ) in dynamic sql ).
Do more research on Field Symbols and statements like ASSIGN COMPONENT OF.
