DTR server and J2EE restart

Our J2EE server is not starting due to following error :
Severe error in network I/O of centralserver. Please restart DTR server application. If the problem occurs again, please refer to SAP note 774339 for more details on how to analyse the error condition
we want to restart DTR server.
since J2ee engine is not started, we are not able to logon to Visual Admin.
can anyone tell me about any other way to restart the DTR server.
or
else how to start j2ee engine for above error.

Sun ONE generally refers to the Sun ONE Application Server version 7.x. This is a J2EE 1.3 compliant application server from Sun. Sun also released a Reference Implementation version (RI) as a requirement of the J2ee 1.3 spec. This is the J2EE server you are refering too. The Sun ONE Application Server 7 is a more robust production ready App Server.
Going forward, Sun combined the 2 seperate groups to include just 1 release. The J2EE 1.4 Reference Implementation is the Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition version 8. SJS AS 8 PE is both free and production ready. Other version will include High Availability, Managing and Monitoring features.

JCO_SYSTEM_FAILURE and J2EE restart

We are currently encountering an issue with IDOC to HTTPS scenario that we we are working on. There are several RFC that are being performed in the mapping to retrieve information from R/3. The mapping has been tested sufficently with data from R/3 DEV system without any issues.
We have the scenario tested in DEV, and its works fine. But when we test the same onjects connected to REL r/3 system, we are noticing that the messages always get stuck in the outbound queue with the status as "transaction executing". After a while the below message is logged:

There seems to be an issue with RFC communication, but we can't seem to find the problem. This above error is logged a number of time, after which the J2ee server process will either restart or stop. We have been manually restarting the J2ee server and the cancelling the message with errors.
We have tested the TCP RFC Destination AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER, it works fine, before the mesages get stuck.

This kind of issue occurs for many cases.
First of all, if there is a server restart(in specific the java stack) and during that time, if any synchronous interface was in execution it would fail with this error.
Since, it is a HTTP adapter at the receiver side, it can also occur if the connection is down at the receiver side.
Because of an untimed restart of a server node/cluster, async interfaces could also fail with this error.
As of now to clear that issue, you can save the payload and delete the blocked message from the queue and check if other messages are getting processeed on not.
Check if the connections to target system are working fine.

Error while starting NW server and j2ee server is getting stopped.

I am working in NW04s. It contains ABAP sp5 and java sp9 versions. The server was working find till ten days back. After the gap of ten days, when i started to work on this SAP system, i was not able to start the j2ee server. You can ping this machine from your portal-nodes and you can connect to the port "sapgw00" (should be 3300) ?

This is the reason why your j2ee-server stops - the portal can't connect to the ume. What did you configured as the ume - the portal database, a ldap-server or a r3-system ?

i am developing simple bean managed persistence bean. i want to know how could i use microsoft SQL Server as my database with ejb's in J2EE. i don't want to use cloudscape rather i want to connect through jdbc bridge with sql server. can any body help me out ?
i have developed DSN for my database with the name of DsnProduct and user name for DB is guest and password is guest123.
so do i have to change configuration is my J2EE server . or put some additional code. so far i have added the following line in my implementation class

I have just started looking at SBO and R3 integration (as you are doing too, I suppose). Talking with our SAP people, they told me there are 2 ways to face this scenario.
- Use the SAP Exchange Infraestructure (XI) as a bridge among R3 and SBO. This software exports some webservices that interact with SBO DI Server.
- Create your own mapping rules and create the comunication with the SBO DI Server. I think this is exactly what you are trying to do.
I suppose the XI would be quite expensive. Haven´t started yet with the second one, but I suppose we will try that way too. What I´m not sure is what technology we are going to use. We are more experienced with .Net and we are investigating how to face it this way.
I must say that there are some documents in the SMB marketplace regarding to this issue under SolutionsIntegration CapabilitiesIntegration Toolkit.

How to integrate Crystal Report Server and J2EE platform

Hi,
It's my first time using Crystal Report, so I don't know exactly how I should start...
As what i've searched around, there is a method of generating crystal report from a JSP file. By this way, everything will be handled within the application server.
But in my project, we intend to leave the part of handling and generating report to another server, i.e. there will be 2 servers: application & report. Anyone experienced with this can guide me through? By splitting into 2 servers, that means I will need to have the Crystal Report Server right? And if doing so, from the application, how do I call the Crystal Report server?

You can use [Crystal Reports for Eclipse|Crystal Reports for Eclipse 2.0 Release Update 8 is Now Available!; to do exactly this. It comes with an example application for displaying reports using the CR Web Report Viewer. It's EXTREMELY easy to use and even to integrate in your existing web app. If you're using Eclipse and have the CR4E plugin installed, you can go to File > New > Crystal Reports and select Crystal Reports Web Project. This will create the CR server application for you. You can also right click on an existing web app and have Crystal Reports integrated directly into your existing app.
To do this, just right click on your web app and go to Project Properties. Then, go to Project Facets, check the box next to Crystal Reports, click Apply and then OK. It will copy all of the necessary runtimes into your lib folder and will even update your web.xml to include the stuff needed for CR. On the left, you should see Crystal Reports File Versions. Click on that and you should see the version of Crystal that was just installed into your web app along with all of the files that were copied or modified.
You could probably then create a report viewer in your other app (maybe an iframe?) that includes a link to the report in the CR Web App.
If you need more assistance with this, let me know. I'd be glad to help out as I've already played with something similar to this.

Switching one DTR Server to other...

Hi,
I had configured one DTR server in my NWDS and it was working fine. But now the development needs to be done on the other DTR server.
I have changed the URL at "development configuration pool" and created a new client for the new DTR server. But when I try to login with the user of the new server, the authentication is getting checked with the previous server only and hence its failing. The error is: "Build Server <previous server>: Invalid Username and/or Password"
Can anyone please sugesst me what needs to be done in order to change the build server to the new one.

Thanks for the reply. By creating same user I'm able to login to the new DTR. But, I'm getting some errors while importing configuration.
The error is : "com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient.LcrException: com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient.CIMClientException: HTTP response code: 403 Forbidden"
And the solution in this way doesn't seem to make sense to me. What if I want to scrap the previous DTR server and want to totally switch over to new one? Do we have any reference file where in I can change the DTR server name and completely remove entries for the previous one?

Intune is forcing updates and force restarting machines linked to it

as of recently Intune has started forcing updates out overour onsite WSUS server and force restarting out machines we use a mixture of Windows 8 and windows 8.1 machines. From looking at both group policy's and windows intune it does not look like
any settings have changed.
are there any reason for this and can we control when our machines restart this is happening across all of our intune machines.

You can control when your machines receive updates and the reboot policy in the Agent Settings policy. Please take a look at that. If you still are encountering issues please contact support.

CPA Cache and J2EE server issues

Hi Experts,
I am having a File to File scenario where the sender channel picks up csv files ( around 3MB each). Once I finished the configuration of the scenario, the J2EE server started to restart continuously five times and stops with a out of memory error.
After going through the defaultTrace.trc file in logviewer, this is the first error that I could see after starting the J2EE server.
CPA Cache not updated with directory data, due to: Couldn't open Directory URL (http://pi-dev:50000/dir/hmi_cache_refresh_service/ext?method=CacheRefresh&mode=C&consumer=af.pid.pi-dev), due to: HTTP 503: Not Ready
Source Name: com.sap.aii.service.cpa.impl.cache.CacheManager.I checked the RFC destination of INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI and also checked if PIDIRUSER and PIAFUSER are locked or not. But they are not locked.
After the above error, the errors just build up probably because of the adapter framework not firing up. One of the error is:
Failed to lookup object from JNDI for name localejbs/AFWListener within app level thread. Reason: com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Path to object does not exist at localejbs, the whole lookup name is localejbs/AFWListener.

I also increased the max thread count in the Application Thread Manager to 250 in the Config tool. I kept the heap sizes as posted above.

I ran the suspect code which i believed was causing the issue as a standalone Java program using the same Java executable and it worked fine without any crash.

I just wanted to throw in one more thought. I have also seen that there is a restart=true parameter. Maybe if we set this to true, and just issue the command to shut down the server in the script, the managed server will restart on its own.

u don't need j2ee and struts to do file uploading. An example is as such
in JSP. u use the <input> file tag like
<input type="file"....>You need a bean to capture the file contents like
class FileUploadObj {
    private FormFile srcFile;
    private byte[] fileContent;
    // all the getter and setter methods
}Then in the servlet, you process the file for uploading

babowa, it seems like it is using Fuse & NTFS, so I don't think it's the classic WD + 10.9 mess, but extra WD tools & drivers can still break things MtTran.
MrTran, if you must use unsupported disk formats on your Mac you must also consider actually paying the developers that made the trial software.
It's probably a good idea to follow the developers removal instructions, reboot & then install one tool at a time.
MacFuse, FuseOSX, NTFS-3G are all likley to confict if you run older versions so you need to be sure you are using the latest version. I can't remeber which one depends on the other, so you will need to read the manuals.
When the disk is readable copy the data to another disk. You could probably do this from a Linux distro or Windows if OS X won't do it.
If you insist on only using the trial versions you will need to reinstall Mac OS, copy data off this disk & reformat it.
Is there any good reason for not using the Mac HFS extended format?
