Dump-Phenomenon No Auth Function Group HRSSC00TRACKING

Hi guys,
we have a strange phenomenon occuring and I can't come up with an explanation, please help:
On our production System we went productive on EHP 4 yesterday. I got a call from basis team today that we have about 2000 Dumps DAILY in production. The problem is the following:
User XXX has no authority for Function Group HRSSC00TRACKING.
I traced the error down to Function Module HRXSS_SER_RFW_RFC_GET_FORM which is responsible for parts of the JAVA environment in process of the ESS Scenario for the Payslip. So this error occurs EVERY time when a user calls his payslip on ESS (we have over 20000 Users...). However, the end user functionality is not influenced by this. The end users o not get any error.
The error can be reproduced on the QS System.
The error can NOT be reproduced on Development System.
The respective R3-Roles with the authorities for the Portal Role which contains the authority for our customer ESS Role are All Equal on all three Systems. The Role does not contain the authority for this function group, which explains why it isn't working on prod and QS. But this should also reflect on Development then, which it doesn't. I'm confused with this and don't know where to approach. There are no SAP-Notes concerning this.  X-Search only turns up one thread which doesnt help either:

The Stacks on ECC and Portal are Equal for all Systems in the Landscape and there is no Stack-Missmatch.
I know we could just assign the authority and transport the Role "because hey, it might just work out" but this still doesn't clarify the situation and makes it all even more troublesome. Also I probably won't be able to reason with our Authority expert because the error can'r be reproduced on all systems....

Yeah, when taking a closer look at *hr_ssc_create_service_object both tables are called WITHIN the FM which the users don't have the RFC Authority for. No other choice than giving the authority then...

    Creating a function group via SE80 in BI system generates a dump when trying to create a transport request as local object. Below is the error in the dump:

    Hi, Akhil, the rfc call is of course not run in foreground, but in dialog work process. Thats the same work process type, that performs requests of dialog users. Even though it does not sound much logically in first look, it has a logic. Also other limits for dialog users will apply.
    If you have to run the FM through RFC, there is no way how to bypass the dialog work process runtime limit on destination system, it will just apply, in my opinion I would recommend you don't loose your time to work around this point. afaik it does not matter if you start it synchronously or asynchronously.
    But as I wrote, you can try to throw a commit work in destination system occasionally, if you can (e.g. if you are not blocked in one big select query), you can also increase the runtime limit (but for all users on the same instance). You can redesign your application...
    If you will study the dump, you will find that it occurred on the destination (accounting) system, not in the calling system - where you are really ok since you run in background work process.
    Also, during the active RFC call you can monitor the destination system with SM66, where you will see this running process in DIA work process with the time increasing, before it will fail.
    On the other hand if you will start SM66 on caller system, you will see the work process is BTC

  • UWL and function group swk1

    I have configured my UWL but could not see any work items in the Portal. Checked the user's RFC authorization to fuction group SWK1 via fuction module AUTHORITY_CHECK_RFC, and found that he didn't have that. How do I give a user RFC authorization to function group SWK1?

    Hello,
          You have to manually add the authorization object S_RFC from tocde: PFCG -> Edit the role you want -> Authorization tab -> Change authorization data -> From the menu: Edit -> Insert authorization -> Manual input -> Add the auth object S_RFC here -> Now you will see the object and make the required entries

    Function Group creation -
           A function group is a program that contains function modules. With each R/3 system, SAP supplies more than 5,000 pre-existing function groups.
         In total, they contain more than 30,000 function modules. If the functionality you require is not already covered by these SAP-supplied function modules, you can also create your own function groups and function modules.
          We can put all the relevant function modules under one function group and all the global variables can be declared in this FG.
    FG Creation:
    1)     Function group can be created in SE80. There choose the 'Function Group' from the list of objects.
    2)    Then give a name for ur function group (starts with Y or Z) and press ENTER.
    3)   The click 'YES' in the create object dialog box and give a short desc. for this FG and save.
    Function Module:
                 A function module is the last of the four main ABAP/4 modularization units. It is very similar to an external subroutine in these ways:
    Both exist within an external program.
    Both enable parameters to be passed and returned.
    Parameters can be passed by value, by value and result, or by reference.
    The major differences between function modules and external subroutines are the following:
    Function modules have a special screen used for defining parameters-parameters are not defined via ABAP/4 statements.
    tables work areas are not shared between the function module and the calling program.
    Different syntax is used to call a function module than to call a subroutine.
    Leaving a function module is accomplished via the raise statement instead of check, exit, or stop.
    A function module name has a practical minimum length of three characters and a maximum length of 30 characters. Customer function modules must begin with Y_ or Z_. The name of each function module is unique within the entire R/3 system.
    Defining Data within a Function Module
    Data definitions within function modules are similar to those of subroutines.
    Within a function module, use the data statement to define local variables that are reinitialized each time the function module is called. Use the statics statement to define local variables that are allocated the first time the function module is called. The value of a static variable is remembered between calls.
    Define parameters within the function module interface to create local definitions of variables that are passed into the function module and returned from it (see the next section).
    You cannot use the local statement within a function module. Instead, globalized interface parameters serve the same purpose. See the following section on defining global data to learn about local and global interface parameters.
    Defining the Function Module Interface
    To pass parameters to a function module, you must define a function module interface. The function module interface is the description of the parameters that are passed to and received from the function module. It is also simply known as the interface. In the remainder of this chapter, I will refer to the function module interface simply as the interface.
    To define parameters, you must go to one of two parameter definition screens:
    1) Import/Export Parameter Interface
    2) Table Parameters/Exceptions Interface
    Then in the FM interface screen, give the following
    1) Import parameters
    2) Export parameters
    3) Changing parameters

    Syntax for the call function Statement

  • Adding authorization object for "Function Group"s ?

    Is it possible to add any authorization object for any function group ?
    We have an issue i.e. whenever user "XYZ" is getting some Windows Excel related error whenever trying call an excel report from BW server. System log related to "XYZ" user shows that -> User "XYZ" has no RFC authorization for the function group "ABCD". The RFC authorization object is S_RFC.
    Function Group you can check through SE37->GoTO->Display Function Group
    Now is it possible to add authorization for any "Function Group" ?

    You give authorisation for all function groups by giving auth object S_RFC a * value in field RFC_NAME
    However I do not recommend this as giving wide access to RFC's can bypass a lot of the security you have implemented for the users.
    In this case, add only the function group that the user requires in this instance into S_RFC

    you need to give that user auth. object S_RFC for FUGR SYST and activity *.
    You can double check in transaction SU53 of the target system which check failed for the respective user. There it should show the auth. object mentioned above.

    Well you should test function groups and function module coding as per your normal procedures. They are widely used.
    Whether they are accessible depends on your roles, right?
    Which release are you on?
    Prior release 7.01 you can only control at function group level with object S_RFC.
    Subsequently you can use RFC_TYPE 'FUNC' to control at module name level if FUGR fails.
    Luckily, this check is central and to my knowledge only one developer ever hardcoded it for list outputs, so you should be okay to convert for manual authorizations.
    For standard ones from the menu, you will need to deactivate S_RFC (there is not option to un-merge, unfortunately..........). Easiest is to get the names from the menu and paste them into the manual authorization, or use a Su24 "dummy" for the role or scenario.
    Dummy's are usefull workarounds and protect you against upgrades as well... (when SAP adds a load of stuff because GRC needs it, and then toasts your roles, sets active auths to inactive and adds new ones which are merged automatically...)

    tehre was  a short dump in qas sysatem and i forun that reason wa that the function group zfi creted as in tdv did not moved to QAS
    not i dont hvae any idea reagrding what changes done to that function group and i can see that function group in tdv and not in qas
    now i want to move all objects fo this funtion group to QAS
    from se80 i am able to see all objects in tdv but i want to move this not to qas
    so how can i create request for this function group in tdv to include all objects in it and move to Quality

  • Programming an Exit in a Maintenance View Function Group

    I have the requirement to fill some administrative data fields of a table which is maintained using a generated maintenance dialog and a maintenance function group. Does anyone have an example of how one can do this?I defined a subroutine to be called before the data is saved to the database, but I have no clue where exactly I must implement this subroutine and how i can reach the data of function group, or which data to reach?Thanks.

    Hi Sukru,
    go to your table maintenance, throught SE11 or directly SE56.
    Set your table name and go to menu Environment > Modifications.
    There you can enhance your table maintenance.
    Just remember that if you regenerate source code you will lose your custom modifications.

  • Error while transporting a Function Group!

    HI ABAPers!
         We have created many function modules in a single function group. While we are trying to transport the function group we succeeded in releasing the function group from the development server to the quality system. But while we are trying to import the same function group from the quality system, it is throwing an error 'FUNCTION GROUP NOT FIT IN SIZE'. what might be the reason for this behaviour and what would be the remedy? Please help this out and points would be awareded for the solutions.

    just an hint (i don't know if it will help u).
    Try in se37 trx , menu "Utilities", shoul be "Repair function group" (o something like that).
    Sometimes u have to do also with standard FM.
    In second step, use unconditional mode -126 in your transport (call to your system admin ho to do that).

    But here's my question.  To load the new table from the SAP table, I've had to use the code below.  Is there any way to simplify this code?  (I don't think there is because the drseg structure is included in the old and the new, so you can't simply say new-drseg = old-drseg.  But maybe there's another way to do it and I'm not seeing it.  Also, note that I had to loop on each of  the inner three tables because it wouldn't compile when I tried statements of the form "new-table[] = old-table[].)

    I've made some change on the screen related to my Z maintenance view in dev. It did not requested for a transport order. Therefore I am wondering if there would be any way to transport the whole Maintenance view without having to re create it.

I tried with Include object then freely selected object but I 'm not sure which object to chose to make the list complete (function groups / tables...)

    Function Groups
    Function groups are containers for function modules. You cannot execute a function group. When you call a function module, the system loads the whole of its function group into the internal session of the calling program (if it has not already been loaded). For further information, refer to Organization of External Procedure Calls.
    The following diagram shows the structure of a function group: The name of a function group, fgrpcan be up to 26 characters long. This is used by the system to create the components of the group (main program and corresponding include programs). When you create a function group or function module in the Function Builder , the main program and include programs are generated automatically.
    The main program SAPLfgrp contains nothing but the INCLUDE statements for the following include programs:
    &#65399; LfgrpTOP. This contains the FUNCTION-POOL statement (equivalent for a function group of the REPORT or PROGRAMstatement) and global data declarations for the entire function group.
    &#65399; LfgrpUXX. This contains further INCLUDEstatements for the include programs LfgrpU01, LfgrpU02,... These includes contain the actual function modules.
    &#65399; The include programs LfgrpF01, LfgrpF02,... can contain the coding of subroutines that can be called with internal subroutine calls from all function modules of the group.
    The creation of these INCLUDE programs is supported from the ABAP Workbench by forward navigation (for example creation of a subroutine include by double clicking on the name of a subroutine in a PERFORM statement within a function module).
    You cannot declare a COMMON PART in a function group. Function groups have their own table work areas (TABLES). Function groups encapsulate data. In this respect, they are a precursor of ABAP Objects (see From Function Groups to Objects ).
    All of the function modules in a function group can access the global data of the group. For this reason, you should place all function modules that use the same data in a single function group. For example, if you have a set of function modules that all use the same internal table, you could place them in a function group containing the table definition in its global data.
    Function groups, like executable programs and module pools, can contain screens (selection screens and lists) as components. User input is processed either in dialog modules or in the corresponding event blocks in the main program of the function group. There are special include programs in which you can write this code. In this way, you can use function groups to encapsulate single screens or screen sequences.
    In SAP, it is a function group - instead of function - that is loaded into active memory.
    Function ( or function module ) is the one that you call from the program to do things.
    A function group contains functionally related function modules, global variables and procedures .
    To display / edit function module you use SE37,
    To display / edit function group you use SE80 .

    I have table maintenance genertor in a function group that contains lot of tables . I by mistable regenerate the whole function group using table mainteance generator.
    Now i want to check which of the programs changed during the regenerator. I am looking for some sap table that contains all the changed objects and their transport number.
    Please rememebr i have still not released the transport,
    I have checked E071, E071, VRSD . That contains the entry for function group and does not contains the programs inside the function group changed

    Sometimes when u copy any standard function group into ZFuntion group u will get some systax errors saynig some varaible is not defined .
    then
    goto SE37
    Enter the fucntion module  and get into function bulinder
    select EDIT Menu option and Interface Submenu option inthat u will find GLOBALIZE PARAMETERS and LOCALIZE PARAMETERS  Just do that operation u will be free of errors.
