Duplicate IN parameters for PreparedStatement

Question

I have a prepared statement like
"SELECT a FROM b WHERE c =? UNION SELECT d FROM e WHERE f =?"
In this case I will always want to both parameters to be the same. My code currently has two lines:-
preparedStatement.setString(1, value);
preparedStatement.setString(2, value);
I would really like just one line:-
preparedStatement.setString(1, value);
Is there any way to set the syntax of the prepared statement such that this is possible?
I'm thinking something along the lines of
"SELECT a FROM b WHERE c =? UNION SELECT d FROM e WHERE f =1?"
Where if a parameter placeholder is directly preceded by number then its not treated as a new parameter but a duplicate of an existing one (with the number representing wihich existing one!).
Is there a syntax for this already? Are there any insurmountable issues with the idea (whatever the final syntax)?
