DW8 Tool Bars Greying Out

Greetings --
I am experiencing the menu bar links within dreamweaver 8
greying out after
a period of time. This is the menu directly above the design
window, where
you can select the group of commands (ie: Common / CFML /
Application)
and subsequent commands are displayed across the top.
In order to get them back I have to close out the program and
re-start it.
As anyone else experienced this situation?

Acrobat 9 Properties bar greyed out for highlighting

I have posted on this issue last year, and also wrote to one of the admins -- all without any solutions, and the problem remains as bad as ever. I imagine there are a lot of other people running into this.
Acrobat 9 Properties bar greyed out (or disappears entirely) when text selected: it happens to me CONSTANTLY, using both Acrobat 8 Pro & Acrobat 9 Pro, all fully updated. Tech support is useless and refuses to acknowledge or solve this extremely annoying problem.
I need to highlight text (using different opacities of highlighting) in a variety of PDFs: scanned-ClearScan OCR, ebooks, downloaded journal articles, etc. None of them are "restricted" in any way for security, commenting, etc.
Within a few minutes of editing, when I go to highlight some text or change opacity, one of two things will happen spontaneously.
1) Properties bar disappears entirely when text selected (erroneously changes to "No current selection")
or
2) Properties bar suddenly greyed out when text selected
It is absolutely inconceivable that Adobe is unaware of this absurd defect -- and is unwilling or unable to fix such a simple functionality so that it works consistently and correctly!
And no, this is not a matter of "turning on/off" the bar using <cntrl-E> -- that's irrelevant to this defect.
And furthermore, commenting text formatting changes are not retained when set as new default (e.g., opacity of highlighting changes randomly from 20% > 60%, etc.)
And I don't want to reset all toolbars, because I have them customized just-so.
Can someone with more expertise PLEASE, PLEASE explain this problem or suggest a fix?

Assumptions for this test:
1. Acrobat has been configured so that the "Text Box Tool" (part of the "Comment & Markup Toolbar") is visible on the toolbar.
(Tools --> Customize Toolbars... may need to be used to se this up)
2. The "Properties Bar" is visible (a Ctrl-E should bring it up if it is not already so)
If you had to make changes to get this configuration set, close all Acrobat windows before proceeding so that the settings will be remembered and used when new windows are open.
******BUG******
Text box TEXT PROPERTIES only accessible in most recent file opened.
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Open a 1st PDF
2. Open a 2nd different PDF
3. Arrange so both are visible.
4. in the 1st PDF create a text box and notice how the window for the 2nd PDF gets the TEXT BOX PROPERTIES BAR
5. notice how there is no way to change the text box properties in the first window.
Results: Text box properties can only be changed in the most recently opened window.
Expected results: Text box properties should work for all windows!
Note that no properties (color, fill, font, ...) of any object (line, rectangle, callout, ...) can be changed using the Properties Bar if the properties bar is not part of the last window opened.
The only kludgy workaround I've found is that if I need a working properties bar in a particular window I can:
1) save the file to capture any outstanding changes that might not have been captured (this is an optional step)
2) make a throw-away minor change to the file (I usually draw a short line segment)
3) Go to File --> Revert (& Confirm)
The file will close and reopen without the throw-away change and it will now be the last file opened so it will now have a working properties bar.
Go here and report it and perhaps if they hear from enough of us they will take the time to do something about it.

After loading a picture into Photoshop some of the menu tools are greyed out and I cannot use the keyboard short cuts, for instance I cannot use Ctrl + T for free transform, how do I resolve this problem. In addition the tool Icons are so small I have to get close to the screen to see them, is there anyway the Icons can be made bigger without reducing the resolution of the screen.

Are you working on a background layer? If so, Ctrl + T will not work. Press Alt and double-click your background layer to convert to a normal layer (or right-click BG layer and select Layer from Background) and try again.
If you're working in Photoshop CC 2014 you can go to Preferences > Experimental Features and tick "Scale UI 200% for high-density displays" to make your buttons and icons larger.

Acrobat 9 Pro comments tools are greyed out...

I just installed Acrobat 9 Pro and am trying to use the pdf portfolio feature. All of my comments tools are greyed out. I have checked te security settings and they are set to allow comments. What am I doing wrong?

it was not before, but I needed to wipe my computer, and reload all my software.

Yes, I do have onOne Perfect Photo Suite 6. Before I bought the Suite, I used a free program they offered. I also had Perfect Portrait installed. At that time the automation tools were not grayed out. But due to a computer glitch, my OS (windows 7) needed to be reinstalled. I then reloaded all of my software, including the new Suite 6. That is when the automation tools got grayed out.

Generally the automation tools menu is resevered for legacy plugins, scripts or third party plugins.In the default install of elements, at least in recent versions, the automation tools menu is grayed out. Did you have any third party plugins installed like onOne plugins?

Properties & tools are greyed out

Hi,
Whenever I open a new document in Flash CS5 Pro, the properties & tools panels are greyed out. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

PLAY button and search bar greyed out

Hello! I've had an issue the past couple of days where my play bar and the search bar are greyed out. I can still play music, and pause it by clicking next to the track currently playing, but the main controllers at the bottom do not work. This persisted through the update I just ran on Spotify, updating it to the most recent version, 1.0.2.6.g9977a14b. See attached image for how this looks in my client. I have a premium subscription if that makes any difference, and as said, I can still play music. Thanks for the attention,Nuala ETA: And of course another update gets pushed out after I post this message, and I now have a functioning play button again. Never mind this. :)

Hi,
I am not creating any Systemaction (No body can creat it ).
I useing the Hyperlink System action .
I am adding a Push button with a system action hyperlink and Draging the filed where we will enter the URL in Runtime into Hyperlink address .
If you enter the address in Inputfield and After pressing the Submit button .
It will navigate to your URL browser.

FCP 6 and 7 - "Tool Bench" greyed out

Wondering what is up with this issue - both Mac Pros are showing this issue - 3,1 has FCP 7 and 1,1 has FCP 6

Please disregard - saw earler both to turn on Vector Scope, etc. - then the Tool Bench selection is possible.

Text Tools Greyed out Acrobat 9 Pro

I really need to do a quick fix on a PDF document. My text tools are greyed out. There are no security issues on the document. I put "never" in the PDF/A view Mode as per another person suggested when I googled. I can't get anything to work.

I opened the document on my home Mac computer and the text tool worked! My 'newer' home Mac came with Lion. My Mac at work was purchased in May 2008 and it came with Tiger. I had to upgrade it to Leopard and then Snow Leopard, then Lion. I think these upgrades have caused lots of problems. I took my Mac into an Apple Store and they upgraded it to the point for me to purchase Lion, which I did. I have a bunch of Adobe products and have had problems with many of them since upgrading to Lion (Tiger worked great). Bridge gets stuck all the time and I have to force quit it all the time. Can't drag and drop files very easily in Bridge. Photoshop has some problems, and there are other nusances I can't think of right now when I work in InDesign and Illustrator. Just don't know what to do about it. (I am the only Mac user at work.)
I guess the text tools worked because I shut down the computer at the end of the day. I didn't think about rebooting when I had the problems because I am getting use to having so many!
Thanks for trying to help me. If you have hear of any of the other problems I wrote above and can lead me in the right direction, I would be very appreciative.

Link tool greyed out

I need to edit the links in a few pdf docs. But the link tool is greyed out. Is this tool ususeable with the trial version? How can I change the web links?

I am a Flash newbie and am following the Adobe 'classroom in a book' course, but I am encountering a simple problem.
All I want to do is to draw some shapes using the 'pen' tool.
However I suddenly find that all the tools beneath the 'magnify' tool are greyed out.
Has anyone any idea how this tool may be restored?

Sign Document is greyed out, option not available

I am trying to sign a form I have filled out digitally, all fields are open including signature block but the Sign Document under tools is greyed out. the form's title includes "(SECURED)" after .pdf. is there a security setting I need to remove? The fields in the signature area are not digital signature fields, but rather are normal text fields, so it's intended for you to type your name. If the form did have digital signature fields you would be able to sign them. The type of security that they've applied does not permit you to create new digital signature fields, which is why Sign Document is greyed-out.
