Can you give an example? I haven't noticed it yet.
For example, the wikipedia search url contains a '%'.

Haven't found an appropriate solution yet. So far i see two possibilities:
* lock all commands until the new page is loaded (won't work if one types too slow or the page loads too fast).
* Only follow a link after pressing return.
Any ideas are welcome.
Iirc, vimperator use a short timer during which all commands are disabled.
portix wrote:I thought about implementing vi-shortcuts in textfields, i never used the readline shortcuts, maybe i implement both.
I thought of the readline one because is what vimperator use, but if you implement vi-shortcuts, it's better
Readline shortcut however, would be useful in dwb 'command line'.
Using dwb as my main browser, I enjoy surfing the web with it. It is fast and it starts as fast as a terminal window (which is fast . Coming from vimperator but looking for a lightweight alternative, I was afraid that I would missed some of its functionality but it's not the case, though a command to cycle focus backward and another one to undo the closing of a view would be useful. Oh and maybe a way to copy the url of a link without having to reach for the mouse.

Daily Kernel Panic while web browsing
Hello,
I'm receiving nearly daily kernel panics while web browsing. At first this was happening in Chrome, so I uninstalled it and went back to using Safari. The problem occurs in Safari as well. It seems to occur most often when I launch additional browser tabs (usually after 3 tabs have opened - happened in both Chrome and Safari) The latest log is below followed by the output from EtreCheck. Any suggestions?

Hi all.
I have a problem with my MacBook. Sometimes I can not browse internet. Internet is connected, skype, lync, outlook, everything is ok except web browsing. Chrome and Safari browsers do not work - it looks like there is no internet conectivity.
I have a windows based PC connected to the same router and everything including web browsing is ok there. Only mac has problems.
I am really confused from it. Can you help me?
Thanks a lot.I have a windows based PC connected to the same router and everything including web browsing is ok there.
Only the Mac has problems. Chrome and Safari browsers do not work.
Internet is connected, skype, lync, outlook, everything is ok except web browsing
And I couldn't reach admin page of my router from os X.
If you have room on the Mac's boot drive, create another Admin account and log into it and try Safari and Chrome there.
If it works, install Firefox right away as it's a non-Webkit browser, which Safari, Chrome (and now Opera) are and suspectible to the same exploits that Apple just released a huge patch for. So also hit Software Update until clear.

Try the Mac in both accounts at other Internet locations, also bypass the router and connect to the modem (power off/on) directly to see if your router is the cause (compromised or outdated) by the Windows PC.
A white hat hacker just released publically a proof of concept code for a Windows vulnerability without first notifying Microsoft -
Creating a Web Browser.
Hello,
I'm still rather new to programming, but my question should be a rather simple one. First, I am using this tutorial to create my web browser.
http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/mac/2004/01/23/webkit.html
Now the question that I have is, how do I add these buttons to my window and make them work?
http://homepage.mac.com/jkish2/server/example.png
I used to think it was a toolbar, but appears that I was mistaken.
Thanks for you help!
Jayson
iBook (12" Late 2004) Mac OS X (10.4.4)Are you talking about the "Apple", "Store", ".Mac", etc buttons across the top of the web page?
Those buttons are not part of the browser's window, they're part of html document the browser is displaying. -

Changing Default Web Browser After Reboot
Hello,
I am using Webkit as my default browser and every time I reboot the machine, it keeps changing my default web browser back to Safari.
I have used the settings in the preferences pane in Safari and applied the changes and after reboot it still occurs. I have read somewhere (I do not remember what website) that FileVault has something to do with resetting my saved settings. I do have FileVault enabled on my system.
Thanks for your help,
supersmoothI would like to advise anyone reading this post that after some more researching, I have found several other posts in different forums that deals with this topic.
Although the suggestions within the other posts did not work, I did try them and had no resolve.
Here are the other posts within the links posted below;
http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-72578.html
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=531812

I hope that anyone reading this post and the other provided above can use them to help shed some light on this issue or possible resolve it.
Once again, thank you for your time,

Web browser update for 5th ed.
nokia should give browser 7.3 update to s60v5 devices which is available with symbian anna or atleast give existing 5th ed. browser 7.2 an update to webkit ver. 533 or 534 for stable browsing.
Uh, again do not compare PC to mobileOS. web browser update is given to S^3. They have Flash 4.0...
You asking them to rewrite a Qt based app so it could be compatible to s60v5? I doubt they'd do that. Yes the webkits are the same, but what you are asking is not simply rewriting, thats making an entirely new app all over again. Making an entirely new browser again, and integrating that again to a new firmware. EVEN IF the do that, it would only go to the newer s60v5 phones, like the C5-03. Why? Most likely performance issues, the C5-03 has 600Mhz procs, the other s60v5? 434Mhz. This is one of the reasons s60v5 is dead. The hardware is just so outdated. And from your pic you're using a 5800? I doubt that phone will ever receive another update after v52. Nokia has a history of only supporting a phone with updates for only a maximum of 2 years. Even if they do release new updates, the 5800 would not probably get any.
Second. Do you actually think Nokia would still give s60v5 phones these updates? They've practically stopped making s60v5 except for really cheap ones to sell (and really cheap phones dont usually get updates).
Companies are like this. If they've got something new, they put it in new phones and force you to buy the new stuff. I doubt that they would spend more time and money on the already dying S60v5, and would concentrate on S^3 already. Its the same for every company. Older/cheaper models get left out of the update lists etc. Its just like that. Its capitalism.

I have had this happen with dwb before... a couple times actually. But not often enough to really have it concern me.
Just a bit of advice, rather than post the entirety of your logs, it might be better next time to find the relevant areas and include that with maybe a bit before and after. It is pretty obvious where the oops happens, and it is timestamped.
I’ve edited the logs to skip out all of the noise. -
I've selected "none" for association but it doesn't work. In other words, I have a Dropbox folder on my desktop. I'd like to be able to open that same folder using the same shortcut on different Lion desktops. However, whenever I try to use the same shortcut on a different desktop, it switches to the one where it's already open. Same problem with web browsers; if I try to just click on a web browser to create a new window, it will take me back to the other desktop.
I didn't have this problem before I had to replace my hard drive and update everything again. I am aware of the "restart Finder" option as well as associating programs with individual desktops. All of the things in question are currently selected as "none."
Any help would be greatly appreciated!I just set Safari's option to None. That is I right clicked on the dock, selected options, and chose none. Also, in Mission Control's tab of System Preferences I clicked Off When switching to an application, switch to a space with open windows for that application. That let me open a new Safari window no matter what desktop I was in. But I had to do both. Just setting the desktop option to none didn't seem to do it. Finder seems to work okay with just the none option set.

A way to have part of the screen presentation and part live web browser?
I'm trying to put together a presentation that involves demonstrating a
live web site.
Neither Keynote or Powerpoint will let me imbed live web pages into a presentation on a MAC. (ibrowser plug-in will do it for powerpoint PC but not MAC).
I'm wondering if there isn't some way to use two programs to accomplish my goal, which is to have notes about the live web page on screen (sort of prompting and reminding me of what to show next on the web site), while showing the web site and working with it on another portion of the screen.
I come close by creating a powerpoint presentation creating my "prompting notes"
on only the far left side of the powerpoint pages, then turning it into a PDF, then opening the PDF but pushing the window all the way to the right side of the computer screen so on the right I see my "notes" and on the left to center of the computer screen I have the live SAFARI web browswer. I can move from page to page on my slides by hitting the "next" page button on the pdf PREVIEW window.
It kinda works, but isn't anywhere near as slick or clean as I'd like.
Can anyone think of a cleaner way to do this with any combo of MAC applications?
Thanks for any input.I figured it out myself! I'm making a quicktime movie out of the presentation,
scale the quicktime window to a corner of the screen, and then have the web
browser on the rest of the screen.
Just thought I'd post in case anyone else had this problem and was looking for
an solution! -
Photo Gallery not showing photos in computer Web browser
None of my photo gallery photos are showing up in a computer's Web browser? They show up fine when you click "View Web Journal in Safari" on an iPad 2, but when I publish them to iCloud and Share the Web Journal Link, the photos don't show up?? It's happening with all of my Journals. It doesn't work on a Mac or Windows? What gives??
You try it:https://www.icloud.com/iphoto/projects/#1;CAEQARoQdoVWsxptdYjcSQD-Rg1QVg;B692688 8-A220-4FF7-848F-6383BB15A5DBArrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, matey. They all show for me in Safari but require several page refreshes to get them all to display. Those that don't display will if I click on it and then go back to the page. However, when retuning to the first page will put be back at square one and require multiple refreshes to get them to display, but not always.
Also, the page links are all messed up. Clicking on them just returns me to the first page. If I Option click on a page link from Page 1 I will get to the right page.
I am unable to get Firefox or Chrome to work at all on your gallery.

Can I view documents in a web browser?
I was under the assumption I would be able to send my documents to iCloud and then edit them within a web browser. Is this not the case?
When I go to iCloud.com all I see is an option to install iWork on IOS devices.Your assumption was wrong. You can not edit them online.

I just got Windows 7 and have been having problems since loading it. Most of my drivers only go to Vista and don't recognize 7.
I have trying to download some manuals from their website
and keep getting this message; Adobe Acrobat/reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in Web Browser.Could I suggest a workaround for PDFs until a solution is posted? Open them directly in the Adobe application rather than in a browser tab.
In your Adobe application(s), go to:
Edit > Preferences > Internet
Then uncheck "Display PDF in browser"
(There are very few sites where having PDF integrated is really beneficial.) -
Chrome - Adobe-Acrobat/Reader can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser.
I can't view PDF files via Chrome (it works on Internet Explorer but I prefer Chrome) - the error below has arisen recently on Chrome, though I can't see what has changed.
"Acrobat plug-in
The Adobe-Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again."
I have looked through Forum articles on similar errors and have tried the following(text copied from other Forum entries)
Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Acrobat)
Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Control Panel
Configure Acrobat as a helper application: Choose Edit > Preferences., Select Internet on the left., Deselect Display PDF In Browser Using [Acrobat application], and then click OK.Quit Acrobat or Reader
Create a registry item for Acrobat: with Regedit: If the registry item doesn't exist on the system, do the following: Go to Edit > New > Key and create the missing HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe.Go to Edit > New > String Value and name this key (Default).Select (Default), and then go to Edit > Modify. Type the Adobe Acrobat path in the "Value data" for your product.,restart your computer
Repair the HKCR\AcroExch.Document registry key: Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroExch.Document., Right-click AcroExch.Document and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts, Right-click AcroExch.Document.7 and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts. Repair your Acrobat installation
None has solved the problem. However it still works ok with IE. But I want to stick with Chrome because I find IE is so slow!
I am using Vista, with Adobe Acrobat standard 9.5.2 and Google Chrome version 23.0.1271.64 m which is marked on Chrome as 'up to date'
Does anyone know why I might be getting this error on Chrome but not IE?I think I have discovered the answer to my own question!
I have disabled Adobe Reader plug-in, and can now see PDFs in Chrome.
(Steps: Chrome Menu, Settings option, Click Advanced Settings link, then Content Settings button, then select Disable Individual Plug-Ins, and a list of plug-ins is offered to enable or disable).
I then get a different result depending on whether or not Chrome PDF viewer is enabled - with it enabled I see the PDF document in Chrome, or with it disabled then the option is offered to download it, but either way I can get it it via Chrome without having to run Internet explorer in another browser window. -
Reader 9.2 - "can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser"
Hello,
I recently deployed Adobe 9.2 within our organization. I used the Adobe Customization Wizard 9 to transform the install set, and selected the "Display PDF in Browser" option as default.
When opening a PDF linked from a web URL, we get the message: "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Please exit and try again." This occurs under IE8 and IE6, in both Windows XP SP2 and Windows 7.
If I launch Adobe Reader and unselect "Display PDF in Browser" in preferences, PDFs open normally.I think I have discovered the answer to my own question!
