Dynamic Build in Java

Hi,I'm wondering if anyone has done a dyanmic dimension build in Java using EES and JavaAPI. I can't find examples on this, so any help would be appreciated. Basically, I see that I can create new dimension by using IEssDimension class, but I don't see a way to add descendants to it. Thanks,Tony

be appreciated. Basically, I see that I can create new dimension by using IEssDimension class, but I don't see a way to add descendants to it. <<I haven't built an outline using the Java API yet (I am using it to get data for front-end apps). That being said, I think you have to get the IEssMember interface of the dimension member you created (using IEssDimension.getDimensionRootMember), then use one of the overloaded IEssMember.createChildMember methods to append members to the dimension.Tim TowApplied OLAP, Inc

  • Error during generation of the WSDL:  BUILD FAILED java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/javadoc/Type

    When I create an EJB Transport Business Service, after selecting the jar that has the EJB 2.1 artefacts (Remote, Home, etc) the oepe plugin fails and can't continue.
    As I understand it seems that there is a problem with the classpath of ant build.xml  that oepe creates inside folder /tmp/alsbejbtransport/ to compile the bs and generate the wsdl. I checked if tools.jar is in the classpath (in eclipse) and is included, so I can't figure out wich is the problem.
    I found this in Oracle, but not helps solve the problem:

  • How can i create an dynamic report in Java

    hello everybody,
    I want to make dynamic reports in Java. Report contain data and images with good layout.. such as crystal reports presentation..
    Reports fields decided at run time or we can say that it is generated according to user requirement...
    can it is possible in Java. If it is then which tool is better for it..
    please suggest me.. this is very urgent requirement for me...

    i don't know what types of tools are avaiable in market... Tools for what? You still didn't tell us what exactly you want to do.
    i just imagin that
    "An user create a database dynamically on server
    databaseNobody "dynamically creates a database".
    and he decide reports desgin according to
    his requirement..... we provide an control for this
    type possibilities....."
    so this is question is build in my mind.. so i
    forward this question to this forums..
    I am just going to check the physibility of my mind
    imagination...Feasibility you mean. IMHO, the feasibility of creating that stuff yourself is very low. Reinventing the wheel usually doesn't make it better, and it's likely to be more expensive to pay you for creating an inferior solution (not because of lack of skills, but simply because the available products had a few years time to grow, feature-wise) than to simply buy the licenses. Look at Crystal Reports or JFreeChart or Jasper Reports. Or use Google to look up J2EE-based reporting libraries. There might be more.
    Which of these is best, I don't know, I never used any of those. Also, the definition of "best" changes with the requirements. What's better, a Ferrari or a truck?

  • How to create dynamic images in java servlets?

    I want to create dynamic images in java servlet. Can servlet create dynamic images that based on the input data files? The results can be displayed in GIF, JPG..format? how can this be done? any example in internet?
    What OS do I need to install and what other requirements needed if i want to build up a servlet server?
    Thanks a lot!

    Also worth having a look at SVG http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/REC-SVG-20010904/, you can get a viewer at http://www.adobe.com/svg/ or you can use Batik http://xml.apache.org/batik/index.html to convert SVG to other formats such as JPEG.

  • Dynamically build a SAP Transaction menu?

    Hi All,
    We are connecting EP7 to an ECC backend to run SAP transactions.
    Rather than building hundreds of roles in the portal, or uploading them,  is it possible to have the portal dynamically build a detailed navigation menu for each user by reading a person roles in the backend ECC system?
    I've heard that this can be done with a custom iView.  It reads the User Menu from the backend and displays it in the portal. Is this iView available for downloading?
    Thanks

    Hi Anton,
    If I understand you correctly then you have a webdynpro iView with 2 values and you want to access a transaction iView by sending these 2 values as input parameters.
    You can achieve this using Portal Navigation. This document provides details:

  • Free way to dynamically build a form that adobe reader can fill out?

    It's 2008 and we don't have a open, free way to dynamically build a pdf form that adobe reader can populate with data? Why is Adobe charging for this sort of thing? Does this make sense to anybody?

    > Why is Adobe charging for this sort of thing?
    That seems to me the way economics works. People charge for things
    that other people are prepared to pay for. It's no good trying to
    charge for things that nobody will pay for.
    >Does this make sense to anybody?
    Adobe's shareholders, I would think, who will sack Adobe's management
    if they do not make money.
    By the way, the PDF specification is open. If you want something for
    free, why not implement it and share it with the world, who will
    surely be pleased. (You will not be able to implement a form that
    Reader can save, however, this is based on trade secrets).

  • How to use the build-in Java parser

    Hi All,
    I want do use the build-in Java parser. Is this possible? For example I have the following code:
    package ch.fhnw;
    import javax.tools.*;
    public class JavacExample {
         * @param args
        public static void main(String[] args) {
         JavaCompiler javac = ToolProvider.getSystemJavaCompiler();
         String arguments = "./src/ch/fhnw/JavacExample.java";
         int rc = javac.run(null , null, null, "-verbose", arguments);
         System.out.println("Return value: " + rc);
    }After parsing, it would be great to have an object or similar which contains the methods, arguments used by the methods, etc. The target is to extract method declarations from java files. Is there a simple way to do it without defining my own EBNF like in JavaCC? Or any other way?
    Thank you for your help.
    kind regards,

  • Dynamically build parameter list

    I'm after an easy way to dynamically build a list of ALL the defined parameters within the additional PL/SQL code section on a portal report. I then want to use p_arg_names / p_arg_values to retrieve and store the passed values in a table.
    To clarify, the report may have 10 parameters of which say only 5 are passed on a particular run. I need to then populate 10 columns which includes nulls for the parameters not passed. This way parameter values will always be written to the same column.
    I aiming to use this as generic code to apply to several other reports which will write to the same table.
    Ron

    In case anyone else needs this I'll post the solution myself.
    1. p_arg_names and p_arg_values (shows only the populated parameters / values)
    2. l_arg_names and l_arg_values (shows all the parameters / values)
    So in my case I needed to reference l_arg_names and l_arg_values.

    How can i build a java parser/interpreter
    i know java offers a tokenizer, how can i use it for build a parser or interpreter that recognize tags like this:
    <query db="db1" select="row1, row2">
    and then perform some actions

    how can i use it for build a parser or interpreter that recognize tags like this:A compiler design class would help understand the issues involved.
    Or as suggested if you are merely trying to parse XML then there are variety of existing solutions.
    Of if not XML and you already understand the principles of compiler design (formally or perhaps with experience with lexx/yacc) then you could use JavaCC

    I was asked following in the interview-
    What things are dynamically loaded in Java?
    How can we change this behaviour so as to load things
    statically?
    Can anybody clarify this for me or give some reference
    URLs etc?
    Sounds like an absurdly general question to me.
    For example shared libraries are loaded dynamically. And there is no way to do it statically unless one modifies the jvm.
    Or using Class.forName() loads a class dynamically. Statically one could create a null reference which would be a 'static' load. Of course that is a rather tentative definition because java is still going to load it when the method is reached rather than on start up.
    Or one could say that the core jvm is statically loaded, for example the system class loader, since it is implemented in C (but of course it actually exists in a shared library so it is loaded dynamically as well by the OS.) All other classes are loaded dynamically and again it requires changing the JVM to alter the behavior.

  • Any OS build in Java

    Hi everyone.
    There's any OS build in Java? And the JVM is the "kernell" of the OS?
    If none, is it a good idea to build a complete OS in Java?
    Thanks!

    There's any OS build in Java? And the JVM is the
    "kernell" of the OS?There even exist hardware JVM's!
    If you want to build a Java OS I think you're better off if you steal/borrow a kernel, for example Linux, and then build the higher OS functions in Java. Java isn't that well suited for low-level systems programming.

  • Dynamically build the cube

    hi
    I unable to cretae the dynamically outline for dynamaic cala and dynamic calc and store and rest data storage property.
    in my datasource i dont have information regarding storage properties. how can i add the storage properties to rule file for dynamically building..............

    It depends on how you source data is set up. If level or gen ref and you want to make all upper level members dynamic calc, that wouldn't be too bad. Just add a column for Gen2 properties with text value 'X' and then set that column as the properties for Gen2. Repeat for other Gens as needed.
    Now for Parent/Child it gets more messy. You could make a copy of your child member column in the load rule, then use Find/Replace to update the value to the storage property you want.
    For example let's say you have a load file like
    PARENT -- CHILD
    Year -- Q1
    Q1 -- Jan
    Q2 -- Feb
    Q3 -- Mar
    You could duplicate the child column in your load rule
    PARENT -- CHILD -- CHILD2
    Year -- Q1 -- Q1
    Q1 -- Jan -- Jan
    Q2 -- Feb -- Feb
    Q3 -- Mar -- Mar
    You could then use Find/Replace on the new CHILD2 column
    (Replace 'Q1' with 'X', Replace 'Jan' with '', Replace 'Feb' with '', Replace 'Mar' with '') your end result will look like
    PARENT -- CHILD -- CHILD2
    Year -- Q1 -- X
    Q1 -- Jan -- NULL
    Q2 -- Feb -- NULL
    Q3 -- Mar -- NULL
    Set new CHILD2 column as the property for CHILD column and you'll get your properties as needed. This obviously gets difficult if the dim is large.
    In General I would not take this approach unless you just had to do one or two. You are better to manipulate your source before hand.

    I am in the process of doing a Proof Of Concept / Evaluating products that can help us build a Java Application to Convert a PDF document to a Searchable PDF.
    I wanted to check is there any simple JAVA API from Adobe to achive this ? Any direction in this regard is greatly appreciated.@

    You can achieve this using LiveCycle PDF Generator JAVA API. You can find required code here:
    Adobe LiveCycle * Quick Start (SOAP mode): Converting a Microsoft Word document to a PDF document using the Java API
    In parameters:
    //Set createPDF2 parameter values
    String adobePDFSettings = "Standard";
    String securitySettings = "No Security";
    String fileTypeSettings = "Standard OCR";
    "Standard OCR" file type setting will run OCR on input pdf. In the code, instead of doc file provide a pdf file. Resultant pdf will be searchable PDF i.e OCRed PDF.
    Feel feel to ask any further questions.

  • Need help dynamically building combo-boxes...

    How can I dynamically build drop down lists?
    I was thinking about using a dynamic page, with bind variables
    set for sql statements inside <oracle></oracle> tags, or passing
    the variable from the first selection to the second selection of
    another page (or the same page?)...
    Another thing I was thinking about would be to base a form on a
    DB procedure, and pass the selections to the procedure, and re-
    build the lists that way...
    I need to avoid client side processing (javascript) because of
    accessiblity concerns.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

    Ajay,
    The following is an excerpt of the code I used. Because of a
    lack of time, I haven't made the code generic. The code is used
    to interface with Oracle Reports 6i & Oracle Configurator. The
    configurator (config_hdr_id & config_rev_nbr) parameters are
    selected by the user and passed into Oracle Reports using related
    dynamic combo-boxes. Pay particular attention to the
    wwpro_api_parameters.get_value function as well as the onChange
    javascript. Hope you can take pieces of this for an example.
    The following is the code for a Portal dynamic page:
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
    charset=iso-8859-1">
