To answer your questions, you can use a scripted data source which allows you to call Java objects to fill the data.

Yes, it's possible to get a list of participants in a Role using PAPI. If you're doing this within a project (i.e. not from an external PAPI client), you can use the out-of-box catalog component Fuego.Lib.Role. Using Java syntax, it will look something like this:

Participant[] participantList = theRole.participants;If you're doing this from an external client, you'll find similar functionality in the class DirOrganizationalRole. In Studio, you can find this and related classes in the package Fuego.Fdi.*.

Creating a new work item instance in a process using PAPI

I'm seeing that there are a lot of questions on this forum about using Oracle BPM 10g's Java API called PAPI.
I just uploaded a step by step document on how you could do this using JDeveloper 11. Here's the link to this document: http://www.4shared.com/file/126507332/e814a3a8/CallingPapi.html. The Oracle BPM project I used for this step-by-step document is also in this zip file. If you're curious, this also describes how to download, install and start JDeveloper 11.
This is not formal Oracle documentation, but I know from teaching our Oracle BPM Bootcamp class that getting PAPI to work is sometimes a challenge and thought this might help. I tried to write it with the "Java Newbie" in mind so do not panic if you aren't an expert in Java (I'm sure not ?:| ).

i have gone through your example. It gives good information how to connect to BPM engine through java papi client. I have followed exactly the same steps given in the PDF document. But it throws the exception on both java client side and BPM Suite.

Here I have a Problem regarding the creation of Table using CSS.
In My Application i have a table with multiple rows(Rows are Dynamically added to the table).First i am setting the table with the following properties:
width:900px;
height : auto,
Overflow : visible,
Max-height: : 200px.
If I use above properties,I'm getting a table with 5 or 6 rows(height upto 200px).After that i am getting the Vertical ScrollBar.
The problem is when a table has many columns, Vertical and Horizontal Scrolls are coming at the time of setting the table. The table height is not Increasing dynamically.
How can i use "height" property in CSS? (I want the table height to be increased when the columns are more.)

Dynamic creation of ComponentUsage

Hi people,
I want to reuse a view (ViewA) in different views (ViewB, ViewC, ViewD).ViewA has a quite complex logic, so it is necessary to outsource this view. Not only the logic, but also the count of UIElements and contextelements is quite large, for this I don't want to implement this part redundant in the views A, C and D.
I have to use ViewA in a table in the TablePopin UIElement. Every line of the table should have its own instance of ViewA. Is that possible?
My idea is it, to put the view in an own component. For every tableline I need an instance of the componentUsage. My problem is now, that I'm not able to create at runtime a ComponentUsage and at designtime I don't know how many instances I need. Is it possible in webdynpro to create dynamic instances of ComponentUsage?
If you know an other way, that prevents me from implementing the view and its logic more times, please tell me!

just for clarification. Principally it is possible in Web Dynpro to dynamically create new component usages of the same type like an existing, statically declared one. This means after having defined a component usage of type ISomeComp (component interface definition) you can dynamically create new component usages which all point to the same component interface definition ISomeComp:
wdThis.wdGetISomeCompUsage().createComponentUsageOfSameType();
But this dynamic creation approach implies, that you must also embed the component interface view of this component usage to the view composition dynamically; and this is (unfortunately) quite cumbersome and complicated based on the existing Web Dynpro Java API (it is not yet optimized for a simple dynamic view composition modification.
Additionally, like Valery pointed out, the dynamic creation of new component usages is not compatible with table popins.

Dynamic creation of date in selection variant

Hi All,
I have a Z program for updating a field in BOM item. One of the input field in the report is "Valid From Date". Actually the current date is automatically fetched through a function module and it is defaulted in that field.
Our client is using selection variant for ease of use. The problem here is old date in the selection variant is replacing the current date. I want current date to be created automatically during insertion of variant also. How can i solve this problem. Is there any selection variable inside the variant for dynamic creation of Date?

As I know there is no setting for this. For any std or Z report variant function with L should act same way...anyway you discuss with your ADABer.

Global Activity to use while using PAPI

I want to create an instance by adding PAPI code to a web-service or by exposing my process as a web-service. Which Global Activity do we use while creating an instance using PAPI ? Is it Global Automatic or Global Creation?

You can create a new work item instance in a process using (1) PAPI (the Java API) or (2) PAPI-WS (the web service API) or (3) the process specific web service running on the Engine's port 9000. When you do this, the work item instance goes directly into the Begin activity of the process. Once there the work item instance is created and is automatically routed to the first activity in the process.
There are many reasons for using Global Interactive and Global Automatic activities in a process but you do not need to use a Global Interactive or Global Automatic activity when creating instances using any of these 3 APIs.
Once an instance is created using any of these 3 APIs, the work item instance immediately and automatically flows to the next activity in the process downstream of the Begin activity.

Dynamic Creation of Buttons and Actions HELP

Hi there,
I have got a problem (or maybe even two) with the dynamic Creation of buttons. The code below creates the buttons.
My main problem is, that the parameter created for the button's action isn't propagated to the assigned event handler. I get a null, though the name of the parameter in the event handler and the name of the parameter added to the action are the same.
Could it also be that I'm always using the same action? I.e. does wdThis.wdGetAddElementAction() always return the same action instance? If yes, how can I create individual actions for each button?
Any help is appreciated!

You have done everything correctly....except for 1 line
in the code...
Replace the following line in your code:
actionAddElement.getActionParameters().addParameter("featureIndex", new Integer(i).toString());
Replace the above line with this code:
button.mappingOfOnAction().addParameter("featureIndex",i);
Actually in your code, you are not associating the parameter with the button...
Note that addParameter(...) comes with two signatures: addParameter(String param, String value) and addParameter(String param, int value). You can use any of them based on yuor need.

Yes, I knew Fuego.Lib.ProcessInstance is able to get creation date.
But my code is not in the that process. I am using papi to get the process instance which returns me Fuego.Papi.Instance. Is there a way to get Fuego.Lib.ProcessInstance from Fuego.Papi.Instance?

Dynamic Creation Form

Hi friends,
Is there a way to create dynamic creation forms in ADF,in jdev 10.3.3?
By this I mean--I need to populate a table in my DB and on my page I have an add button,
now at each click of add button,a new creation form should be displayed on the page one below the other.
finally there would be a Save button that would save all my entries to the table.
I searched a lot for the same...Please do help if anybody has any ideas..

Hi,
well, the easiest would be to create an updateable table and add new rows. If you need a form then you can use af:forEach or af:iterator with the table binding to render input form elements (more like a custom table rendering). However, its quite a bit of development that is required for this.

My question was, How do I send the instance dynamically to multiple partipants.

First thing that comes to mind is to utilize a SPLIT-N JOIN.
Put 1) an AUTOMATIC, and 2) the activity that needs to have multiple participants in between the SPLIT-N and the JOIN. In the code for the SPLIT, iterate over your variable that contains the counter of participants (intParticipantCount) and do the following:
1) set another variable for the desired participant (varParticipant)
2) clone the instance for as many particpants as you have.
In the code of the automatic, put the "participant.next" code and use your varParticipant
So if your process looked like the list below, and Activity 2 was the activity that needed to have a dynamic number of participants:
1) begin
2) activity 1
3) activity 2 (has dynamic # of participants)
4) activity 3
5) end
It would now look like:
1) begin
2) activity 1
3) SPLIT-N
4) Automatic (to set next participant)
5) activity 2
6) JOIN
4) activity 3
5) end
All of this assumes that Activity 2 needs to be completed by EACH user. If this is not the case...for example if you want to assign Activity 2 to a dynamic list of users (1-5) but you only want 1 user of the dynamic list to complete the activity, then I have no proven or tested suggestion, but you could perhaps look into seeing if you can 1) create parametric roles at runtime and 2)modify the members of the parametric role during runtime. if this is possible, then at runtime you would create a new parametric role, add the users to it, and set the parametric value. But this approach is all theoretical. Not sure if you can actually do that.

Creation of role using T-code PFCG in R/3

Hi Experts,
I have created a Role using PFCG inorder to give acess only to three T-codes(PZ09. PZ80,PZ88).
so i have created a role intially using PFCG and incorporated PZ09 tcode in it and assigend the Role to users in R/3. it is displaying the TCode(PZ09) in Portal.
Now again i have added PZ80 & PZ88 to the same Role in R/3, but now i am getting an error:
Infotype 0000 does not exist.
but whereas when i assign SAP_ALL they(PZ88 & PZ 80) are working fine.
Is they anything i can do so that i can avoid assigning SAP_ALL Profile to the users and eliminate the Error "Infotype 0000 does not exist.
