Dynamic directory and file name

Hi
I have requirement of dynamic file name and dynamic directory with condition based on doctype from source
I have used the following code and for file and directory with two different udfs. If I am using only file it is working but not with the directory
try
String directory = new String("");
DynamicConfiguration conf1 = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
DynamicConfigurationKey key1 = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http:/"+"/sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","Directory");
  if (var1.equals( "DOR" ))
   directory =   "/Inbound/DOR";
   else {
   directory =   "/Inbound/KOR";
     conf1.put(key1,directory);
     return directory ;
     catch(Exception e)
       String Exception=e.toString();
      return Exception;
in message mapping i used var1 to one of the not used field in target
similary i did for file  with different udf and mapped sourcefield- to targetrootnode with same condition with different filename
But it is not working getting the following exception Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.exception.standard.SAPIllegalArgumentException: The parameter "argument" has the value "remote://*/PACK _TEST20140226-152149-483.dat", so it contains the character "remote://*/PACK _TEST20140226-152149-483.dat" which is not allowed
Thanks for your help

Hi Mahesh -
The parameter "argument" has the value "remote://*/PACK _TEST20140226-152149-483.dat", so it contains the character "remote://*/PACK _TEST20140226-152149-483.dat" which is not allowed
>>> I see that paramter name as "argument" in the above error. So you mean to say when you simply use the UDF just for file name it works for the above input.
But the same udf fails if you enable another UDF for the directory? having the same payload?
Is my understanding correct.
However i would suggest you to have a one UDF for both "directory" and "Filename" and map the field to Target message type but not to any of the fields..

  • Dynamic Directory and File Naming in Receiver Adapter

    Hi ..My Receiver file should Look like this.
    COLCCYYMMDDHHMMSSLPMASTER___.tmp
    1st 3 bytes: COL  ( Sender File name is COLMASTER.txt)
    Next 14 bytes is timestamp: CCYYMMHHMMSS
    Next 1 byte: L ( constant Value )
    Next 1 byte: P/Q/D (Production/QA/Dvlp.. Can we do this based on Sender Logical System ?)
    Next 20 bytes ( Part of it comes from Sender file name and remaining fields should be filler with underscores )
    Next 4 bytes ( .tmp)
    After Iam done with writing this file in .tmp format I should change the file name to .txt format for further processing. Since File gets created dynamically how should I change Name from .tmp to .txt file?
    Appreciate help and guidance with steps I neeed to follow to make this happen. Thanx again.

    Hi Ram,
    One option~~
    Use ADAPTER SPECIFIC INDENTIFIERS in both sender and recievr file adapter with the filename selected.
    In this case, the filename of sender will be made the file name of the reciver.
    Now, change the file name in the mapping in an UDF with the following code, and this will be used as the filename,
    String newfilename="";
    // Write the logic to get the new file name into this string.
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    conf.put(key, <b>newfilename</b>);
    return  "";
    Now, this filename in newfilename string will be used in the target filename.!!

  • How can I get Directory and Files from a Maped Networkdrive of the AppS

    Hello,
    we have the following Situation.
    We have a Windows-Server (Server-A) in an Network with ActivDirectory and an Windows-Server (Server-B with an WebApplicationServer outside of these ActivDirectory as standalone.
    On Server-B we mapped a Directory from Server-A (FileExplorer and then MapNetworkDrives) as Drive Q.
    Now i tried to get the Directory of Q:\abcd but it doesn't work.
    I tried the FM EPS_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING and also RZL_READ_DIR, but both doesn't worked.
    RZL_READ_DIR is doing a "CALL 'ALERTS' ..." and is comming back with sy-subrc = 1
    EPS_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING is doing a "CALL 'C_DIR_READ_FINISH'..." and comes back with "Wrong order of calls" in the Field file-errmsg. Next Call is "CALL 'C_DIR_READ_START'..." and this comes back with "opendir" in Field file-errmsg.
    I tried the same with two Servers in the same ActivDirectory-Network. The Result was the same, i don't get the directory of the mapped drive. But now i get from the Call "CALL 'C_DIR_READ_START'..." the file-errmsg "opendir: Not a directory" and file-errno 20.
    Is there any idea for solving my Problem?
    I have to get this directory, read the files from the List and have to rename them after wriing the data to our databasefile.
    I want to read them with OPEN DATASET, rename them by writing a new File (also OPEN DATASET) and after that i do an DELETE DATASET.
    Thanks and Greetings Matthias

  • Max length of VI file paths and file names

    Hi,
    Is there a maximum allowed length of VI file paths and file names in LabVIEW? I'm running LV 6.0.2i on NT and is trying to save a VI inside a LLB and LabVIEW crashes each time. I have also tried to copy the VI from the LLB to a temp folder with the Librarian VI, but LabVIEW crashes as well. The total length of the file path is around 260 characters and I strongly suspect the file path length in combination with LLB because when I use a shorter path the problem disappear. If I use a long path without LLB (just regular VIs) a warning appear "Invalid file name" instead of LabVIEW crashing.
    Does anybody know the solution to this problem or must I use shorter filepaths? Perhaps it depends on which platform I am running
    LV on?
    Sincerely,
    Mattias Ericsson

    I believe windows has a 255 character pathname (file+path) limit. We once
    had that problem because we had a long filename and a longer pathname.
    Moved the directory up a couple levels and problem solved.

  • Read application server directory and file

    Hi,
      I'm using the FM "RZL_READ_DIR_LOCAL" to retrieve the application server directory and filename.  The returned result contain all the directory name and filename.  Is there any other FM can separate the result into directory and file??

    Ya One more FM is there - Call Function Gui Upload.
    It will read the file from the app server.

    Hello Ram,
    Execute the function module BBP_PROCDOC_ITEM_GETDETAIL by providing the item guid,object type . Now it will populate the  et_attach importing parameter with the attatchement details.
    In the ET_ATTATCH internal table , the field PHIO_FNAME/PHIO_PATH_FILE provides the physical storage location of the document.
    Hope this info will be helpful.

    How to show rating dots and file name underneath thumbnail in Bridge CS4 preview workspace?

    Thank you! That was it. The option to change it is not available in preferences (though I believe it was in early CS versions). It's hidden in a dropdown menu associated with an icon at the top. It sure wasn't easy to find, and I probably would not have done so without your lead. Thanks again!

    I have a sample that attach a file to the PDF and write in a text field the file name. I don´t know how to get the full path and it only works in Acrobat. • Check image details like resolution, dimensions, color mode, file format, file size and file name

    I have 1000 images in a folder, i want to check their details like resolution, dimensions, color mode, file format, file size and file name into excel with nice user interface.
    Pls help me, m just learning ABCD in VB.

    The code in the file at the link below might give you a starting point. Firstly it gives you the opportunity to list all of the properties of a file type and then you can select the properties that you want and the second utility gives you the
    opportunity to list the selected properties for all files in a selected folder.
    Download and extract the file and open the file in Excel.
    Click the first button List Meta Data for One File (Run first)
    Navigate to and Select any ONE individual photo file. (Photo files because that is what you indicated you are working with.)
    You will be presented with a list of the available properties for the file. Where the Item value is blank, that property is not recorded for the particular file. Different file types have different properties and it is also dependent on how the file
    was created but generally if all of the files come from the same source then the same properties are recorded for all files from that source.
    Now insert a Y in column D for all of the required properties. (Don't select any with the Item value blank)
    Click the second button List Selected Meta Data for all Files in a Folder (Run after selecting the required properties).
    Next select a folder where the files reside. (You might need to back up to the folder if dialog is blank because it will not show individual files because the code only allows Folders.)
    You will be presented with a report listing all of the selected properties for all of the files in the selected folder.
    The user interface is not that great but you can improve on that if you want to with a Userform as you get to know VBA a little better.
    Download the file from here.

  • Insert a directory path and file name option

    I built a program that runs three tasks when a voltage triggers the data acquisition. I would like now to insert an option/control for two issues: selection of the directory where the data will be saved, and selection of the file name. How can I do this such that after I press 'start' I should be asked which is the directory where I want the data to be saved and then what is the file name?
    Another option would be the following: After I press 'Start' I will have a control where I can write or browse for the folder where I want to save the data; then I have another controller where I write the new file name. So in this case I should not be prompted except the case when I am trying to use the same file name.
    Where should I con
    nect this new subvi in my loop - before the tasksand before the trigger, or after the tasks and before the trigger?
    Thank you.

    Programming with LabVIEW might be fun but it is quite time consuming
    OK, here is what I want to do.
    I have to monitor a machining process. I have to record cutting forces, power consumed, vibrations, and temperature. From each of these sensors I get a voltage as output and I used Measurement and automation and NI-DAQmx to program my tasks (I have LabVIEW Express running in Windows XP).
    The triggering of DAQ is generated by the input of a 4.5V DC when the CNC program starts; the stop occurs when CNC program ends and the output voltage becomes 0V. I have finished all the connections and now I have to build the vi.
    The small picture could be described this way:
    I want to record the parameters and save them in files that I could process later using specific vi.
    The big picture would be the following:
    I would like to build a stand alone program that will do the following: when I run the program [ i. e. double-click the shortcut (or the file)] a panel should come up in the center of the screen in this panel I would like to be able to select what process am I going to investigate: grinding, turning, milling, drilling, tapping etc.
    Once I selected what process I am going to investigate, the front panel of a vi should come up In this panel I should be able to select what parameters I am going to record: forces, power, vibrations, and temperature. On the front panel I should be able to see the waveform of the acquired data. A start/stop button and a led green/red for each parameter should show me the status of the acquisition (green is on, red is off). The start/stop button should allow me to manually start or stop the program at any time. Additionally, on the front panel I should also have icons with a choice for directory (folder) path, file name, and comments regarding the experiment. The date and time should be recorded in the file that is saved. There should be an option (check box or selection icon) for saving the data in binary or ASCII format.
    Similar to any program, the front panel should have a toolbar containing File, Operate and Help options. The File option should contain Clear graphs, Setup DAQ and Exit and the Operate option should contain: Use digital alarm, Use digital trigger, and Write data to disk with the option to be selected or deselected. The main front panel should close when I select File -> Exit.
    The File -> Setup DAQ selection should bring up another front panel in which I should be able to see the acquisition control panel (device, channels to get, buffer size, units English or metric) and the calibration factors (for the tasks, including triggering voltage) including sampling rate.
    Well, thats almost all. I understand I cannot do this all at once. Unfortunately, I have a very close due date in getting the system up and ready. I am hoping that I could get some help setting up a simple program and I could develop the rest step by step later...
    Can anybody help me with this program? I have attached a first attempt that would allow automatic triggering and stopping as well as displaying of forces, power and acceleration.
    Thank you in advance.

  • How to dynamically define a file name and its path in a web application

    Hi, I want to create a simple web application that reads from an XML file and displays the data back to the user. The xml file is created independent of my application on the same machine that the Application Server runs. How can I define my xml file name and/or path to be independent of my code and not hard-coded in my application?

    By an external configurationfile? That can be a propertiesfile, a xml file, an ini file, a plain vanilla txt file, etcetera.
