Dynamic File, Directory names - File2File Scenario

We donot have message mapping in our Scenario  ( Ftp file 2 Ftp file scenario ) where we like to change filename, directory before writing file on the target ftp server. Basically Dynamic configuration has to be manipulated based on  file name pattern. How can we change Dynamic configuration variables without message mapping step.
Thanks

Bhavesh, Aamir,
I am not as learned as you all are...However i have one doubt...
Can you tell me how..you would use variable substitution  or any of the other features besides the dynamic Config bean...to make a decision..with this logic.
If(filename.equals(a)){
String dir = /usr/sap;
else if(filename.equals(b)){
String dir = /usr/pas;
Can someone please enlighten me as this is a problem i have had before and had to do a workaround on...

  • Pass export file/directory name in Web Engine plug-in

    I use a custom Lightroom web engine plug-in that I use to publish my website (5000+ pages).  Here is an example of an output section:
    http://www.johnkane.com/2010-03-01-MuirWoods/index.html.
    I use Dreamweaver to synchronize all the assets such as menus and links, including the plug-in files (Lua pages).  Each web gallery is published to its own folder in my website.  It works great except that every time I publish/republish a web gallery, I have to scroll and identify the directory in the Export / Save Web Gallery dialog box (or type the file (directory) name in for an initial export/publish).
    I have created a panel text box and variable (metadata.directoryPermalink.value) that can contain the directory name.  By storing this directory permalink along with the web gallery, I hope to ensure that each gallery is always published to its correct directory...
    ... except I don't know how to pass this variable to the export dialog box (as "File name" which actually is the directory name all the gallery files are exported to.
    Do I specify this in the manifest?  I don't see references in either the manifest or galleryInfo files... or in the sdk LrWebViewFactory section.  Perhaps I've missed it?
    Any help appreciated!
    Thanks,
    jk

    Hi,
    I haven't tried to write a web engine so don't know the answer off the top of my head. A quick glance at the SDK guide and the two SDK samples didn't give me any hints at the answer.
    Before I nudge one of the gallery developers to see if they know the answer I need to confirm one thing. Can you please confirm you have a file in the same directory as your manifest using the name "myfunctions.lua", and that your require statement looks something like this:
      require "myfunctions"
    (Thie filename should be considered case sensitive).
    I know its an obvious question but I need to ask before I ask one of the others for assistance.

  • Dynamic file Directory : Sender File Adapter

    Hi all
    In one of our interface development ,at  we require a dynamic Directory path at the sender file adapter ..
    ex :
    path = Root/A/B/C
    filename = test.txt
    now in Root Directory, Folder & subfolder  " A ( B ( C )))  are dynamic.
    Subfolder "C"  wil contain the source file..
    Will it possible...with Z module development..??

    hi,
    if you want your directory name dynamically from Payload, you can use the option variable substitustion;
    For example follow below procedure:
    1)in the Target directory name --> /%dir%
    2)go to advanced tab and check for the variable substitution option(enable),
    3)variable name:dir
       Reference:Payload:mt_filetest,1,name,1
    according to the given details in the communication channel your  payload should be like this
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:mt_filetest xmlns:ns0="urn://filetest">
       <name>madhav</name>
    </ns0:mt_filetest>
    now  directory is created with the name of madhav (Dynamically according to the payload directory name is created).
    Note: points if it is useful
    Thanks

    I am assuming that the plan and location fields are part of the data structure and the path D:SXCommon will always remain the same in all the environments.
    In that case, you can write a generic UDF for this that will handle in Dev, QA and PRD

  • Upper and lower case in file/directory names

    I am a newby with Mac OS X and have a question concering the command line and X11. In the UNIX world, file and directory names distinguish between lower and upper case characters, i.e. test.c is not the same as test.C. I try to port my software, but need the distinction between files ending on .f90 and .F90 (the latter go through a preprocessor first). With Linux or other UNIX derivates, this is no problem. However, with OS X (Darwin) the shell does not distinguish those files.
    Is there a way to implement that behavior in OS X?
    Thnaks for any helpful comment!
    Best
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
       As Camelot said, the HFS+ (case insensitive) filesystem is case-preserving but not case-sensitive. When you said that you, "need the distinction between files ending on .f90 and .F90", do you mean you need both filename suffixes for a given filename? If you ever need both for one filename then you have a dilemma. However, if there will always be only one or the other, the case-preserving aspect of the filesystem can work for you. It not only gets the case write when you write the filename but when you read it as well. Thus, you can work around case-insensitivity in scripts and code that you write. What you have to do is to not use file tests that stat a filename. Instead, always read the filenames from the disk to the script and perform string tests on what was read. The string tests and tests with UNIX utilities on the strings are still case sensitive.
       Many UNIX utilities function much as I described above and so function in a case sensitive fashion. For instance, the "find" command is case sensitive. I think there are even some file tests that are case-sensitive but not the most useful ones, like the test for existence.
       Thus, if you write most of your code and have the time to change it, you can deal with case sensitively.
       If you need to have both of the .f90 and .F90 filename suffices, you will have to use the HFS+ (case sensitive) or UFS filesystem. However, this could be on a disk image. Lots of software is distributed on disk images. I suppose that it's usually precompiled binaries but there's no reason you couldn't compile the code in the disk image and then install it. You could even include a little double-clickable AppleScript with the code that opens a Terminal window, cd's to the directory containing the source code (the disk image should always be mounted in /Volumes with the name you give it) and kick off the compilation and installation. That would be somewhat of a novelty.

  • Problems with spaces in file or directory names and Word.exe

    Hi
    I'm trying to open a file with Word from my java aplication, and I have a problem with some file/directory names.
    I have this
    String cmd = "c:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Office\\Office10\\WINWORD.EXE" + " " + path;
    try {
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
    } catch (Exception errorea){ }
    Here is what happens:
    if path is something like this: "c:\people\info.doc" , there's no problem, Word opens the document, but if path contains blank spaces somewhere, it doesn't work. For example:
    path = "c:\Documents and Settings\info.doc"
    path = "c:\Hi everybody\info.doc"
    path = "c:\tests\test results.doc"
    with the above examples it doesn't work :( Word tries to open "c:\Documents", "c:\Hi" or "c:\tests\test".
    Can anyone help? thanx a lot ! : )

    Hint: use the variant Runtime.exec(String[] args).
    Create a command array, with each token in a separate argument. The entire filename with spaces goes into one argument.

  • Dynamic File and Directory Name without Mapping

    Hello Experts,
    We have following requirement:
    1) Files will be picked from R/3 AL11 directory and would be placed in corresponding folder in target system.
    2) On source side ,there would be only one folder for all types of files(around 20),but on target side,there would be one folder for each kind of file(20 folders)
    3) File name should be same on the target side but target directory should be selected based on file name.
    I have gone through a number of posts related to similar requirements and hence,sorry for a new post but I am not yet able to find a solution to this.
    I could understand,this can be achieved using DynamicConfiguration UDF .
    But I have no possibility to have mapping in my scenario.It would just be a pass through scenario.
    Can anyone please suggest a solution to this?
    Thanks.
    Regards,

    Hello,
    Thanks a lot for suggesting solution to this problem.
    I could achieve this using following Java mapping:
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.*;

    import java.util.*;
    public class GetDynamicConfiguration implements StreamTransformation {

                param.put(DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/Dynamic", StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION), "");
                DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) param.get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);

                String filename =conf.get(key);
                conf.put(key, filename);
                   trace.addInfo("File name is "+filename);
                if(filename.equals("in.txt"))
                directory = "/home/ftpxi/in";
                   if(filename.equals("test.txt"))
                   directory = "/home/ftpxi/in/test";

  • Dynamic file names on file based  processing

    Hi Experts
    we are doing file to file scenario using file based processing not on message based ( No Reposiitory Objects - No mapping , no interface objects ).
    we need to pickup the file name from the source directory and place it in the target directory with the same file names.
    the source file name is added with the time stamp and client number,
    Since there no mapping , we can't use the dynamic file concepts.
    Please help me with the possible solutions
    thnz for the help in advance.
    Cheers
    Faheem

    Hi Faheem,
    You will be using the dynamic config when u want to map the input file name to a field in the target message.
    As per ur requirement ASMA will do :
    try this:
    In both the sender and receiver file adapters , select Adapter Specific Identifiers and File Name
    In the receiver file adapter give some dummy value for file name and directory.
    In the runtime, the source file name and directory will be used as the target file name and directory.
    You need not use any UDF or a mapping here
    Hope it helps!!!!!!!!

  • Dynamic file name from input payload (RFC 2 flat file)

    Hi,
    I have an RFC to flat file scenario. The output flat file has not an XML structure, it's just a plain text file generated with abap mapping.
    In my source interface (RFC), I have a field called <FILENAME>, I want to use the value of that field to create the target file using dynamic file name. But if  in variable substitution I use payload:ZRFC_NAME,1,FILENAME,1 It doesn't work because the dynamic variable substitution try to access to output payload, not the source one...
    What can I do?

    Hi Marshal,
           You can add a extra node to your target strucutre like
    FileName- Node
    --FileName - Element.
    do the mapping from the field filename of RFC to FileName field in u r target strucure. And use this  field path at Refrence in variable subtituion.
    In the Content converison add the Name & Values as below
    FileName.fileldNames -- FileName
    FileName.fieldFixedLengths -- 0
    FileName.fixedLengthTooShortHandling -- Cut
    So the extra field in u r target structure would not populate in u r target text file.
    Cheers

  • SharePoint 2010, Visual Studio 2010, Packaging a solution - The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters.

    Hi,
    I have a solution that used to contain one SharePoint 2010 project. The project is named along the following lines:
    <Company>.<Product>.SharePoint - let's call it Project1 for future reference. It contains a number of features which have been named according
    to their purpose, some are reasonably long and the paths fairly deep. As far as I am concerned we are using sensible namespaces and these reflect our company policy of "doing things properly".
    I first encountered the following error message when packaging the aforementioned SharePoint project into a wsp:
    "The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters."
    I went through a great deal of pain in trying to rename the project, shorten feature names and namespaces etc... until I got it working. I then went about gradually
    renaming everything until eventually I had what I started with, and it all worked. So I was none the wiser...not ideal, but I needed to get on and had tight delivery timelines.
    Recently we wanted to add another SharePoint project so that we could move some of our core functinality out into a separate SharePoint solution - e.g. custom workflow
    error logging. So we created another project in Visual Studio called:
    <Company>.<Product>.SharePoint.<Subsystem> - let's call it Project2 for future reference
    And this is when the error has come back and bitten me! The scenario is now as follows:
    1. project1 packages and deploys successfully with long feature names and deep paths.
    2. project2 does not package and has no features in it at all. The project2 name is 13 characters longer than project1
    I am convinced this is a bug with Visual Studio and/or the Package MSBuild target. Why? Let me explain my findings so far:
    1. By doing the following I can get project2 to package
    In Visual Studio 2010 show all files of project2, delete the obj, bin, pkg, pkgobj folders.
    Clean the solution
    Shut down Visual Studio 2010
    Open Visual Studio 2010
    Rebuild the solution
    Package the project2
    et voila the package is generated!
    This demonstrates that the package error message is in fact inaccurate and that it can create the package, it just needs a little help, since Visual Studio seems to
    no longer be hanging onto something.
    Clearly this is fine for a small time project, but try doing this in an environment where we use Continuous Integration, Unit Testing and automatic deployment of SharePoint
    solutions on a Build Server using automated builds.
    2. I have created another project3 which has a ludicrously long name, this packages fine and also has no features contained within it.
    3. I have looked at the length of the path under the pkg folder for project1 and it is large in comparison to the one that is generated for project2, that is when it
    does successfully package using the method outlined in 1. above. This is strange since project1 packages and project2 does not.
    4. If I attempt to add project2 to my command line build using MSBuild then it fails to package and when I then open up Visual Studio and attempt to package project2
    from the Visual Studio UI then it fails with the path too long error message, until I go through the steps outlined in 1. above to get it to package.
    5. DebugView shows nothing useful during the build and packaging of the project.
    6. The error seems to occur in
    CreateSharePointProjectService target called at line 365 of
    Microsoft.VisualStudio.SharePoint.targetsCurrently I am at a loss to work out why this is happening? My next task is to delete
    project2 completely and recreate it and introduce it into my Visual Studio solution.
    Microsoft, can you confirm whether this is a known issue and whether others have encountered this issue? Is it resolved in a hotfix?
    Anybody else, can you confirm whether you have come up with a solution to this issue? When I mean a solution I mean one that does not mean that I have to rename my namespaces,
    project etc... and is actually workable in a meaningful Visual Studio solution.

    Hi
    Yes, I thought I had fixed this my moving my solution from the usual documents  to
    c:\v2010\projectsOverflow\DetailedProjectTimeline
    This builds ok, but when I come to package I get the lovely error:
    Error 2 The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters. C:\VS2010\ProjectsOverflow\DetailedProjectTimeline\VisualDetailedProjectTimelineWebPart\Features\Feature1\Feature1.feature VisualDetailedProjectTimeline
    Now, the error seems to be related to
    Can anyone suggest what might be causing this. Probably some path in an XML file somewhere. Here is my prime suspect!
    <metaData>
    <type name="VisualDetailedProjectTimelineWebPart.VisualProjectTimelineWebPart.VisualProjectTimeline, $SharePoint.Project.AssemblyFullName$" />
    <importErrorMessage>$Resources:core,ImportErrorMessage;</importErrorMessage>
    </metaData>
    <data>
    <properties>
    <property name="Title" type="string">VisualProjectTimelineWebPart</property>
    <property name="Description" type="string">My Visual WebPart</property>
    </properties>
    </data>
    </webPart>
    </webParts>
    .... Unless I can solve this I will have to remove the project and recreate but with simple paths. Tho I will be none the wiser if I come across this again.

  • How to read dynamic file names in RSEINB00?

    Hi, ABAP Gurus,
    actually I'm a PI Consultant. Now I have a scenario to use the report RSEINB00.
    In the Applicaton Server i put ASCII IDocs with the following name convension: <static name>+<time stemple>:
    SAPIDOC20111127-224128-952.txt
    SAPIDOC20111127-224129-115.txt
    I created a new port in WE21 and the Outbound file and Inbound fiel tabs haben the same configration:
    physical directory: /ABC/DEV100/inbound/
    Function module: EDI_PATH_CREATE_DATE_TIME
    Inbound file: SAPIDOC.txt
    To execute the report RSEINB00 I must give the complete file name and port. It is not convenient.
    My target is, with a job to run RSEINB00 once daily to read all files with name "SAPIDOC + <time stemple>" full automatically.
    Is it possible? how to figure it out?
    thanks a lot in advance! <removed by moderator>.

  • Dynamic file name ?

    Hi,
    I am following this blog to name the target file/directory dynamically at the runtime :
    /people/sameer.shadab/blog/2005/09/23/an-interesting-usage-of-variable-substitution-in-xi
    But I am getting this error in the CC monitoring :
    Could not process due to error: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.configuration.DynamicConfigurationException: Error during variable substitution: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.varsubst.VariableDataSourceException: Unknown message header category 'interface_name ' for variable 'var1'.

    Hi,
    Try following this weblog for dynamic file name.
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    Dynamic filename come under the Dynamic configuration in moni, for your messages.
    This is the code used inside.
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    String ourSourceFileName = conf.get(key);
    return ourSourceFileName;
    That is why Dynamic configuration is coming in output.. It is a class to generate dynamic configuration file at runtime provided by SAP XI.
    Hope this will help you.
