Dynamic FLV StreamName using MySQL

Hi there,
I am trying to display a *.flv movie which has its filepath drawn from a php MySQL dataset
The recordset works ok and is tested with just a text output of the filename but i cant get the flv player code right.
<param name="FlashVars" value="&MM_ComponentVersion=1&skinName=Corona_Skin_2&streamName=../videos/art istvideos/<?php echo $row_selectedcharactervideo['videofile']; ?>;autoRewind=true" />
or do i need to set this as a $videofile then insert that somehow am completely n00b at this one.
Any help is appreciated
Cheers

Sorry, my mistake.
Ok, I think that if you used a prebuilt component, the play
button i used only to start the clip. You have to create your own
Play button, that verify if the video exist or if it has to load
it. So the first time, the video does not exist, then when the used
will click on it, it will start the video load. Don't put the video
path on the component, just feed it with actionScript. After that
if the user stop the video or just pause it and press Play button
again your code will check, then the video already exist and it
will not start the load again, but just play it.
Has I said, this is the way I think it should be, you have to
Script your own play btn. May be there is other way, but I don't
know them.
Hope that can help you!

12.2. Control Flow Functions
CASE value WHEN [compare_value] THEN result [WHEN [compare_value] THEN result ...] [ELSE result] END
CASE WHEN [condition] THEN result [WHEN [condition] THEN result ...] [ELSE result] END
The first version returns the result where value=compare_value. The second version returns the result for the first condition that is true. If there was no matching result value, the result after ELSE is returned, or NULL if there is no ELSE part.
mysql> SELECT CASE 1 WHEN 1 THEN 'one'
-> WHEN 2 THEN 'two' ELSE 'more' END;
-> 'one'
mysql> SELECT CASE WHEN 1>0 THEN 'true' ELSE 'false' END;
-> 'true'
mysql> SELECT CASE BINARY 'B'
-> WHEN 'a' THEN 1 WHEN 'b' THEN 2 END;
-> NULL
The default return type of a CASE expression is the compatible aggregated type of all return values, but also depends on the context in which it is used. If used in a string context, the result is returned as a string. If used in a numeric context, then the result is returned as a decimal, real, or integer value.
Note: The syntax of the CASE expression shown here differs slightly from that of the SQL CASE statement described in Section 17.2.10.2, gCASE Statementh, for use inside stored routines. The CASE statement cannot have an ELSE NULL clause, and it is terminated with END CASE instead of END.
IF(expr1,expr2,expr3)
If expr1 is TRUE (expr1 <> 0 and expr1 <> NULL) then IF() returns expr2; otherwise it returns expr3. IF() returns a numeric or string value, depending on the context in which it is used.
mysql> SELECT IF(1>2,2,3);
-> 3
mysql> SELECT IF(1<2,'yes','no');
-> 'yes'
mysql> SELECT IF(STRCMP('test','test1'),'no','yes');
-> 'no'
If only one of expr2 or expr3 is explicitly NULL, the result type of the IF() function is the type of the non-NULL expression.
expr1 is evaluated as an integer value, which means that if you are testing floating-point or string values, you should do so using a comparison operation.
mysql> SELECT IF(0.1,1,0);
-> 0
mysql> SELECT IF(0.1<>0,1,0);
-> 1
In the first case shown, IF(0.1) returns 0 because 0.1 is converted to an integer value, resulting in a test of IF(0). This may not be what you expect. In the second case, the comparison tests the original floating-point value to see whether it is non-zero. The result of the comparison is used as an integer.
The default return type of IF() (which may matter when it is stored into a temporary table) is calculated as follows:
Expression Return Value
expr2 or expr3 returns a string string
expr2 or expr3 returns a floating-point value floating-point
expr2 or expr3 returns an integer integer
If expr2 and expr3 are both strings, the result is case sensitive if either string is case sensitive.
Note: There is also an IF statement, which differs from the IF() function described here. See Section 17.2.10.1, gIF Statementh.
IFNULL(expr1,expr2)
If expr1 is not NULL, IFNULL() returns expr1; otherwise it returns expr2. IFNULL() returns a numeric or string value, depending on the context in which it is used.
mysql> SELECT IFNULL(1,0);
-> 1
mysql> SELECT IFNULL(NULL,10);
-> 10
mysql> SELECT IFNULL(1/0,10);
-> 10
mysql> SELECT IFNULL(1/0,'yes');
-> 'yes'
The default result value of IFNULL(expr1,expr2) is the more ggeneralh of the two expressions, in the order STRING, REAL, or INTEGER. Consider the case of a table based on expressions or where MySQL must internally store a value returned by IFNULL() in a temporary table:
mysql> CREATE TABLE tmp SELECT IFNULL(1,'test') AS test;
mysql> DESCRIBE tmp;
-------------------------------------------+
| Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra |
-------------------------------------------+
| test | char(4) | | | | |
-------------------------------------------+
In this example, the type of the test column is CHAR(4).
NULLIF(expr1,expr2)
Returns NULL if expr1 = expr2 is true, otherwise returns expr1. This is the same as CASE WHEN expr1 = expr2 THEN NULL ELSE expr1 END.
mysql> SELECT NULLIF(1,1);
-> NULL
mysql> SELECT NULLIF(1,2);
-> 1
Note that MySQL evaluates expr1 twice if the arguments are not equal.

Don't use IFNULL for comparisons (especially not for Joins)
(example:
select aa from a left join b ON IFNULL(a.col,1)=IFNULL(b.col,1)
It's terrible slow (ran for days on two tables with approx 250k rows).
Use <=> (NULL-safe comparison) instead. It did the same job in less than 15 minutes!!

IFNULL is like oracle's NVL function (these should help people searching for NVL() ..)

When using CASE, remember that NULL != NULL, so if you write "WHEN NULL", it will never match. (I guess you have to use IFNULL() instead...)

You can ORDER BY a dynamic column_name parameter using a CASE expression in the ORDER BY clause of the SELECT statement:
CREATE PROCEDURE `orderby`(IN _orderby VARCHAR(50))
BEGIN
SELECT id, first_name, last_name, birthday
FROM table
ORDER BY
-- numeric columns
CASE _orderby WHEN 'id' THEN id END ASC,
CASE orderby WHEN 'desc id' THEN id END DESC,
-- string columns
CASE orderby WHEN 'firstname' THEN first_name WHEN 'last_name' THEN last_name END ASC,
CASE orderby WHEN 'descfirst_name' THEN first_name WHEN 'desc_last_name' THEN last_name END DESC,
-- datetime columns
CASE _orderby WHEN 'birthday' THEN birthday END ASC,
CASE orderby WHEN 'desc birthday' THEN birthday END DESC;
END
Since the CASE expression returns the "compatible aggregated type of all return values", you need to isolate each column type in a separate CASE expression to get the desired result.
If you mixed the columns like
CASE _orderby
WHEN 'id' THEN id
WHEN 'first_name' THEN first_name
...etc...
END ASC
.. both the id and first_name would be returned as a string value, and ids would be sorted as a string to '1,12,2,24,5' and not as integers to '1,2,5,12,24'.
Note that you don't need a "ELSE null" in the CASE expressions, since the CASE expression automatically returns null if there's no match. In that case, you get a "null ASC" in your ORDER BY clause which doesn't affect the sort order. If for instance orderby is 'descfirst_name', the ORDER BY clause evaluates to:
ORDER BY null ASC, null DESC, null ASC, first_name DESC, null ASC, null DESC
Effectively the same as "ORDER BY first_name DESC". You could even add a new set of CASE expressions for a second order column (or more..) if you like.

Occasionally the previews show in the list component but will just
not play.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

• Dynamic FLV Loading Entire Video

Using Flash 8 and the tutorial at
http://reallyshiny.com/tutorials/flash.php,
I created a dynamic FLV player. Everything works but the player
loads the entire FLV video when going to the URL. Is there an easy
way to prevent FLVPlayback component from loading the complete FLV
video until someone clicks play? If there were several videos on
the page or one video was very large it could take an unnecessary
about of bandwidth to display the page, especially if the end user
wasn't going to view that video.

Sorry, my mistake.
Ok, I think that if you used a prebuilt component, the play
button i used only to start the clip. You have to create your own
Play button, that verify if the video exist or if it has to load
it. So the first time, the video does not exist, then when the used

• Any tutorials on creating a simple Login using Mysql and sessions?

Hey guys. I cannot seem to find any information(online) or books that cover sessions in JSF and how to do a simple log in. I can get the application to query a mysql table and check the credentials and go to the next page, but I'm not sure how to make that page locked from non authorized access. I am very familiar with PHP and using it to create database driven applications. It's very straightforward, making safe logins using mysql, and creating sessions once the user has logged in(making pages locked unless the user is logged in, etc).. I have the core java server faces book but it's a joke. I feel like its an incomplete book. It merely skims a topic, and when you think it's going to get interesting it moves on to something else. It teaches basic stuff but nothing of what I want to do(or need to do). The older Javaserver faces book that came out in 2004 from O'Reilly doesn't seem to help either. I'm just wondering where people learn JSF at. I know Java, I would say pretty well as far as desktop applications go. I really like the way JSF is layed out and would really like to use it in my next project. At the level I know it now it's perfect for static web pages with no dynamic information.(but I could use plain html for that). Thanks for all your help.

dothedru22 wrote:
but I'm not sure how to make that page locked from non authorized access.You can use a Filter for that. Map the filter on the desired url-pattern and write doFilter() logic which checks if the user is logged in (basically: if there is an User object in the HttpSession) and handle accordingly (chain.doFilter() on success or response.sendRedirect on fail).
and creating sessions once the user has logged in(making pages locked unless the user is logged in, etc).. The HttpSession is backed by a cookie (as is PHP's $_SESSION, did you know that?), you don't need to do any low-level stuff with cookies. Maybe at highest if you ever want a "remember me on this computer" option.
booksThe mentioned books learns you the JSF basics. They doesn't really learn the best practices / practical use cases. There you have other resources for (or just practical experiences). Besides, I recommend you to go get a book which covers JSF 1.2 or newer. The mentioned ones are outdated, as is everything else older dan two years in the programming world.

Hi,
You can very well use DBMS_SQL Package supplied by Oracle for doing this.
Search for DBMS_SQL in OTN. You will get all info regarding this.

• How to create Exchange dynamic distribution list using multivalue extension custom attribute

I am trying to create a dynamic distribution list using an ExtensionCustomAttribute. I am in hybrid mode with Exchange 2013. The syntax I have is this:
New-DynamicDistributionGroup -Name "DG_NH" -RecipientFilter {(ExtensionCustomAttribute2 -eq 'NH')}
This works correctly on-prem. But hosted always results in an empty list. I can see in dirsync the attribute is in the hosted environment, but for whatever reason, the distribution group gets created but always come up null.
If I create a group looking at the single valued attributes, such as CustomAttribute6 -eq 'Y', it works correctly on-prem and hosted.
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

I don't think I provided enough information about the problem. Let me add some and see if it makes sense.
I have an Exchange 2013 on-premise configured in hybrid mode with Office365. For testing purposes, I have 2 users, Joe and Steve, one with the mailbox on-prem, and the other with the mailbox in the cloud. Each of them has CustomAttribute6 = 'Y'
and ExtensionCustomAttribute2 = 'NH'. Dirsync shows these users and these attributes are synced between on-prem and cloud.
Using on-prem Exchange powershell, I run the following command:
New-DynamicDistributionGroup -Name "DG_NH" -RecipientFilter {((RecipientType -eq UserMailBox) -or (RecipientType -eq MailUser) -and (CustomAttribute6 -eq 'Y')}
This correctly finds the 2 users when I query for them as follows:
$DDG = Get-DynamicDistributionGroup DG_NH
Get-Recipient -RecipientPreviewFilter $DDG.RecipientFilter | FT alias
So I then delete this DG, and recreate it this time looking at the multi-value attribute ExtensionCustomAttribute2, as follows:
New-DynamicDistributionGroup -Name "DG_NH" -RecipientFilter {((RecipientType -eq UserMailBox) -or (RecipientType -eq MailUser) -and (ExtensionCustomAttribute2 -eq 'NH')}
Replaying the query above, I can see this also works fine and finds my two users.
Next I open a new powershell and connect to Office 365 and repeat the process there.
New-DynamicDistributionGroup -Name "DG_NH" -RecipientFilter {((RecipientType -eq UserMailBox) -or (RecipientType -eq MailUser) -and (CustomAttribute6 -eq 'Y')}
This correctly finds the 2 users when I query for them.
And then delete the group and recreate it using the multi-value attribute:
New-DynamicDistributionGroup -Name "DG_NH" -RecipientFilter {((RecipientType -eq UserMailBox) -or (RecipientType -eq MailUser) -and (ExtensionCustomAttribute2 -eq 'NH')}
When I run the query this time it produces no result. Every test I try results in an empty group if I am using a multi-valued attribute in the search criteria in the cloud. If I use single valued attribute, it works fine.
I really need to be able to get multi-valued DDG's working in the cloud. If anyone has done this and has any suggestions, I would appreciate seeing what you did. And if this is the wrong forum to port this, if you can point me to a more suitable
forum I will report there.
Thanks,
Richard

• How can I use mySQL with OC4J

Hello,
I have standalone OC4J and I want to use mySQL database (Oracle is no problem). My data-sources.xml for application (not global data-sources) is:
<data-sources>
<data-source class="com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource"
connection-driver="org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver"
ejb-location="jdbc/MG_DBDS"
inactivity-timeout="30"
location="jdbc/MG_DBCoreDS"
name="MG_DBDS"
password=""
pooled-location="jdbc/MG_DBPooledDS"
url="jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/test"
username="root"
xa-location="jdbc/xa/MG_DBXADS"/>
</data-sources>
Deploy return me:
Error initializing data-source 'jdbc/MG_DBCoreDS': DriverManagerDataSource driver 'org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver' not found
Then I run this command:
java -jar %OC4J_HOME%\admin.jar ormi://192.168.1.14:23791/ admin heslo -application Register -updateDataSource -oldLocation jdbc/MG_DBCoreDS -jar mysql-2.0.11-bin.jar
this action is success and create in OC4J folder lib with jar file mysql-2.0.11-bin.
When I use this configuration in application, I get connection but creating Statement cause SQL Exception - No suitable driver.
When I try to restart OC4J, I get the same message as throught deploy - Error initializing data-source ...
What is go wrong???? Could me help anyone?
Thanks
Libor

pooling solution:
1) put driver mysql.jar into any directory wich described in OC4J application.xml file like
" <library path="D:\j2ee\home\lib">jdev-generated</library>"
2) put a new datasource in data-sources.xml:
<data-sources>
<data-source name="MySqlDS"
location="jdbc/MySqlDS"
class="com.mysql.jdbc.jdbc2.optional.MysqlConnectionPoolDataSource"
max-connections="100"
min-connections="5"
inactivity-timeout="200"
wait-timeout="10"
username="scott"
password="tiger"
url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/oln?useUnicode=true"/>
</data-sources>
OC4J needs a special pooling class in comparision with other containers. For example, JBoss has own implementation of pooling broker, so pooling is enabled by default.

it only told me about installing mysql to unix platform tomcat , not windows xp sp1, is there any tutorial tat's useful for using the mysql-connector-java-3.1.10? where should i place this folder after i unzipped it? what is CLASSPATH as being written in the previous URL that told us to set the environment variable?..anybody care to help?

You need to place the driver jar in a place that tomcat can access it; if that place is not already in the classpath for Tomcat, then you need to add it.
After that, you need to supply application code for Tomcat to contain that will use the driver and do whatever it is you want.
If you don't know how to do any of that, you need to either read the Tomcat documentation, or learn basic Java development.

• Using MySQL database in Jdeveloper

I am using MySQl database in my applicaion.I have successfully created connection to the database and have created entity beans from the tables and a session bean as well to use the entity beans
now when i am trying to call persistEntity(object obj) of session bean, basically to insert records into tables.
i am getting following exception :
Internal Exception: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '"tdmce_approval_status" (APPROVALLEVEL, DOCREFNO, STATUS, COMMEError Code: 1064
Call:INSERT INTO "tdmce_approval_status" (APPROVALLEVEL, DOCREFNO, STATUS, COMMENTS, DMCETYPE, ACTIONDATE) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)
bind => [1, 12355, Approved, abcd, import, 12/03/2008]
i believe this insert query is automatically generated by Jdeveloper. have tried executing the same query in sql sheet it has worked perfectly fine.
Can any one please suggest on this ?

• Dynamic Receiver Determination using Soap header

Hi ,
I am trying to use a field in SOAP Header to determine the receivers dynamically.
1, Using XPATH gives me only values in the Payload and not the SOAP header. Is it possible to pull the value from the SOAP header to the payload and then do dynamic receiver determination.
2. Using Context Object is it possible to transfer the value of the field in SOAP header to variable header Xheadername1 and then use it to determine the receiver. I am having problems in passing the value of the field in soap header to XHeadername1.
Any help is appreciated and points will be awarded.

I'm working from the Web UI. This is BSP. Here I add 2 Methods (GET_PDF and SEND_MAIL).
The GET_PDF gets all data for the form and then sends the FORMOUTPUT to the SEND_MAIL method.
Here I add the PDF as following:

Do I need to add it as another TYPE or ....
