Dynamic link to a portal component

Hi
We are developing a masthead for the portal with a dropdown list. this list as the event " onchange " with a link to a custom component responsible for changing the user language. Is it possible to generate a dynamic link to this component having the component name? i know this is possible in web dynpro using web dispatcher
Example of final link:
Final path: www.server:portal\irjpath\com.company.component.PortalLanguageComponent
Only Parameters i would know PortalLanguageComponent / com.company.component

Let's say your custom component (<Component-Name>) is developed in a project (<Project-Name>), then you can call this component using this url: "/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/<Project-Name>.<Component-Name>", hope this helps.

   Sorry for late response, too busy yesterday.
   Currently, I want to create a URL link in the page which links another JSP page in the same portal component, but the problem is this JSP page is under PORTAL-INF folder, so due to privilege problem, I can not create the link like the following:
<a href="jsp/test.jsp">Link</a>
   I konw if I move test.jsp out of folder PORTAL-INF, the above way should work, but then, I found the JSP page can not access componentRequest and get resource bundle object.
Am I clear, please let me know, thanks!

How to write code to redirect from one portal component to another portal component.
I am using Response.Redirect("portalcomponent.ascx") like how we redirect page in asp.net application.
It shows runtime error...

a key to keep in mind is that with the PDK you are programming in EP using ASP.NET as a language / syntax class implementation (very similar to how J# uses the java language syntax for .net classes)

Howto create a dynamic link with current domain

We need to create a dynamic link on a html page in the portal.
The link should contain a dynamic part containing the domain where the CLIENT is in. It should look like this : http://mytool.windowsdomain.corp/tool where "windowsdomain.corp" is dynamic. Where could we get this information from?

How to create a dynamic link in a Form to link to a specific FOLDER

Hello,
I have created a reports of all employees of my department.
This reports shows me the empno and ename
When I clicked on a empno ( for example empno = 1 ) then then I got a MASTER DETAIL FORM about that employee(empno = 1) .
Who he or she is and which course he or she had followed.
I want create a dynamic link in the MASTER DETAIL FORM which shows me directly the folder of that employee ( in this example folder 1 ).
If I clickt on the report with all employees of my department on an other number ( for example empno = 3333333) then if I click on the dynamic link in the MASTER DETAIL FORM I want to see the folder of employee 3333333 !!! You know what I mean ?
What I want to know is, how to create a dynamic link that shows me directly a folder which is dependent on which empno I had clicked on in the report ( report with employee numbers and ename )
Is there any way to pass some parameters into a link to a Folder ? Is this possible in Portal ? Does anyone know how to do this, or do you have a suggestion how to solve this problem ?

I am glad that someone had replied on my question.
I will explain it to you again.
I have created a report that shows me all employees. If I click on a employee number then I get an MASTER DETAIL FORM on my screen with all the information(where he works now and which number I have to dial ifhow can I reach him by telephone) of that employee on which number I clicked on.
I really like this mechanism. (You click on a number and the information that you see in the next screen is dependent of the number you clicked on ! )I have created all this. It works fine.
What I want is to expand this example.
Every employee has a FOLDER (yes, those ones in Content Area ) which they can insert text or image into that folder. The folder name is just the employee number. ( employee with employee number 3303, he owns a folder which is named 3303 and an employee with empno 9999, he or she owns a folder with the name 9999. )
Every employee can tell more about himself in that FOLDER by iserting text and images. For example : What he likes, pictures of his vacation, something like this.
What I want is this :
If I click on the first report,which provides me all employees on screen, on a employee number 3303 then I get a Master Detail Form on my screen with all information about that employee with employee number 3303. And I want in this MASTER DETAIL FORM to create a link that shows me directly the FOLDER of that employee ( 3303), so I can learn more about employee with employee number 3303. But I don't know how to create this link.
That link had to be dependent on the employee number. The difficult thing about this link is that this link had to be dynamic.

Calling a procedure from a dynamic link

I have the following situation-
I have a report created using SQL Query.
I need to call a Stored Procedure(move_to_portal) through a link from one of the fields in the report (Exec_id field of the report).
How can I do this?
The links do not allow me to choose a stored procedure as the Target component....so maybe I have to create a dynamic link.
How to do this? Any help would be appreciated.

I have just another question-
I have a procedure testing_del_archive which is being called with 2 parameters...from a dynamic link in my SQL Query.

Error in service call of Portal Component

Hi
When user trying to access the ITS screen through portal he is getting the following error.
Portal runtime error with exception id.

With the same exception id i could see the another error...
com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Exception in SAP Application Integrator occured: Exception occured in layer CommonTopLayer
All other users can access it successfully..
What could be the problem.

Entry point errors can usually be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of from the programs and features control panel. Unfortunately you neglected to include the detail of which dll is mentioned.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Creating iViews Based on Remote Portal Component iViews

Does anybody know if Portal 7.0 EHP 2 supports creating a local iview for a remote transactional iview? I saw this SAP Help link, but it is not really clear on Transactional iviews.

Hi Prasanna,
this needs some clarifying concerning wordings:
1.) An iView is an "instance" of a portal component. Within the Portal, you have deployed different applications, each app consists of one ore more components (and/or services, but services are faceless).
2.) The "traditional" way to implement such a component is to do it directly via HTMLB, JSPDynPages etc. Deploy this app within the portal and then you can create an iView build directly on this component.
3.) Alternatively, you have components at hand, which import other applications / or web stuff. The most simple for example is an URL-iView. This is an iView using a component which just retrieves the content from some URL given. A more complex example is the ApplicationIntegrator, which does the same plus passing login params etc.
4.) One possibility is to integrate WebDynpro-Applications via a specific WebDynpro iView. The combination of this has the added value that from WebDynpro Applications you are able to use the Portal Services, so you have a far more tight integration.
5.) With all this at hand, the rest should be self declaring: Yes, you can develop "normal" J2EE-Apps, based on "good old JSP/Servlet + EJB" technology and integrate it via URL/AppIntegrator iViews. But you can also use WebDynpro for your frontend and EJB's for your backend with the advantage of tighter integration.
