Dynamic name in formula column header

Greetings, i have a question - is it possible to create dynamic header of formula column?
For example - year on the form is 2012? in the header i want something like ratio "current year picked from forms year" to "current year -1", i.e. ratio 2012 to 2011
Is it possible?

It looks like forms are not supporting text functions like FR yet, I gave it a try <<MemberName("<Formname>","<POV DIM Name>)>> in the formula header area and it didn't like it. It is just displaying what ever I typed in there.

  • Dynamic Columns, using the element name as the column header name

    BI Publisher Experts,
    I'm a relative newbie in the RTF layout world and i'm trying to acheive a layout which dynamically nominates the column headers as the element name.
    For example using the XML below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ROWSET>
    - <DATA>
    - <THREECOLUMNDATA>
    <FIRST_NAME>First Name</FIRST_NAME>
    <LAST_NAME>Last Name</LAST_NAME>
    <EMAIL>[email protected]</EMAIL>
    </THREECOLUMNDATA>
    </DATA>
    </ROWSET>
    Excuse formatting, looked ok in preview!
    I'd like to acheive the following output:
    | FIRST_NAME | LAST_NAME | EMAIL |
    |-----------------------|---------------------- |--------------------------------------------------------|
    | First Name | Last Name | [email protected] |
    I've managed to get the row data columns working using:
    <?for-each@cell:current()/*?><?.?><?parent::*/text()?> <?end for-each?>
    And i've been working on the header for a while now, using
    <?for-each@column:current()/THREECOLUMNDATA[1]/*?><?name(.)?><?end for-each?>
    But no luck with the header. I only ever get a blank header.
    I've also reviewed the following syntax:
    <?split-column-header:THREECOLUMNDATA?> <?/FIRST_NAME?>
    But of course, this pulls specific element data out as the header, not quite what I need.
    Question is: Is there specific functionality to pull the element name out as the header, or do I somehow specifically need to include the header name as a data value in the XML?
    Advice appreciated!

    If you could get your XML to look like this instead of what you have, you will be able to use split-column-header and split-column-data
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <ROWSET>
    <DATA>
    <THREECOLUMNDATA>
    <COL_DTLS>
    <COL_LABEL>FIRST_NAME</COL_LABEL>
    <COL_VALUE>First Name</COL_VALUE>
    </COL_DTLS>
    <COL_DTLS>
    <COL_LABEL>LAST_NAME</COL_LABEL>
    <COL_VALUE>Last Name</COL_VALUE>
    </COL_DTLS>
    <COL_DTLS>
    <COL_LABEL>EMAIL</COL_LABEL>
    <COL_VALUE>[email protected]</COL_VALUE>
    </COL_DTLS>
    </THREECOLUMNDATA>
    </DATA>
    </ROWSET>
    Now if you <?split-column-header:COL_DTLS?><?COL_LABEL?> and <?split-column-data:COL_DTLS?><?COL_VALUE?> you'll get the required output...

  • Dynamic table  with  multilevel  column header

    Hi all ,
    Can u please tell me how to create dynamic internal table and display which has two level column header using alv.
    For example : |  amount   | year | Month     |
    in $
    in #
    oct
    nov
    Thanks in advance ,
    SA

    Hi SA,
    For your first question - Creating dynamic table refer code below...
    PARAMETERS: p_input TYPE i OBLIGATORY.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
    DATA: v_fieldname TYPE char30.
    DATA: v_char TYPE numc4.
    DATA: it_fldcat TYPE lvc_t_fcat.
    DATA: wa_it_fldcat LIKE LINE OF it_fldcat.
    DATA: gp_table TYPE REF TO data.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <gt_table> TYPE table.
    DO p_input TIMES.
    v_fieldname = 'COL'.
    v_char = sy-index.
    CONCATENATE v_fieldname v_char INTO v_fieldname.
    CONDENSE v_fieldname.
    CLEAR wa_it_fldcat.
    wa_it_fldcat-fieldname = v_fieldname.
    wa_it_fldcat-datatype = 'CHAR'.
    wa_it_fldcat-outputlen = 5.
    wa_it_fldcat-intlen = 5.
    APPEND wa_it_fldcat TO it_fldcat .
    ENDDO.
    CALL METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table
    EXPORTING it_fieldcatalog = it_fldcat
    IMPORTING ep_table = gp_table.
    ASSIGN gp_table->* TO <gt_table>.
    Now you can use <gt_table> ..
    2. It is not possible to have multiple format column for ALV..
    Hope this solves ur prob..
    Enjoy SAP.

  • How to dynamically display value in column header

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where in the user selects a particular value from a drop down list, and the same has to be displayed in the column header. For example, there are A,B,C,D types of quantities in a drop down list. Once the user selects these values and submits, the column header should display the quantity type selected. Kindly let me know how this can be achieved.
    Regards
    Snehith.

    Hi Snehith,
    In Layout Mode, Double click the Column in the Table, the Control Properties window is opened, switch to the "Display" tab, then press on the formula button next to the "Label:".
    Use the Expression Builder to have the label be the value you want it to be: for example:
    NSTR(#ID[ACA9TU]@MAX_ROWS,'Z3.0')
    This formula takes a numeric field, formats it into a string and displays it.
    For more information about how to build expression, please see:

  • Dynamic names for Datagrid column headers?

    How can I put data from my ws into the headerText for a
    DataGrid?
    I was hoping to find a defined property something like
    "HeaderTextFunction" built into the DataGrid but I didn't see
    anything like that. Do you have to use the Advanced DataGrid for
    something like this?
    I also can't make out whether I should import the WS value
    into an XMLList or just parse it directly into a function, or what
    the syntax of this should be vis a vis e4x etc.

  • Dynamic Column Header

    Hello!
    Does anybody know how to set the column header dynamically, e.g. set the current month name as the column header?
    Thanks!

    If you have following alias defined on the MTD and QTD.
    MTD- month
    QTD - quarter
    then you can use current <<MemberAlias(....., ...,.) >>_
    If dont have alias defined then use conditional formatting, to display whatever you want.
    Hope this helps.

  • Dynamically changing the Advance table column Header.

    Dear All,
    I want to change dynamically the Advance table column header.
    I tried the below code and its working process request,not in process form request when button pressing.
    Please suggest me.
             OAAdvancedTableBean tableBean =
                               (OAAdvancedTableBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("advanceTableRN");
                           if (tableBean != null) {
                           System.out.println("tableBean");
                               OAColumnBean columnBean =
                                   (OAColumnBean)tableBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("column3");
                               if (columnBean != null) {
                                   System.out.println("columnBean");
                                   OASortableHeaderBean colHeaderBean =
                                       (OASortableHeaderBean)columnBean.getColumnHeader();
                                   if (colHeaderBean != null) {
                                       System.out.println("colHeaderBean");
                                       colHeaderBean.setText("Segment3");

    You can try 2 options:
    1. Try to call pageContext.forwardImmediatlytoCurrentPage();
    2. Try yo set a vo attribute to the columnbean text property and set the vo attribute programmatically. (I have not tried this but I think it should work)
    Cheers

  • Interactive Report, issue with backgroud color of Column Heading.

    Hi,
    I am using Theme -16
    and there is a Interactive Report with the following columns Headings
    Employee Name   Employee No  DOB
    Now, the label of the first column is changed from Employee Name to Employee<br>name.
    The column heading is now displayed as follows.
    Employee   Employee No   DOB
    Name         problem is when I add a break in any of the column heading..the background color of the column headings is different than the first one (little bit darker).
    Why the background ground of the column heading is different in both these cases??.
    Thanks,
    Deepak

    Why the background ground of the column heading is different in both these cases??.The report heading background is controlled by the CSS rule
    .apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA th {
      background: #4e4e4e;
      font-weight: bold;
      color: #fff;
      border-top: 1px #ccc solid;
      border-bottom: 1px #aaa solid;
      white-space: nowrap;
      vertical-align: center;
      letter-spacing: 1;
      font-size: 8pt;
      background-image: url(../ws/report_bg.gif);
      background-repeat: repeat-x;
    }This uses a [gradient image|http://apex.oracle.com/i/ws/report_bg.gif] that is repeated horizontally to provide a shaded background from light to dark grey. As the background image doesn't repeat vertically, when the height of the heading is more than the height of the image the gradient is replaced by the underlying background colour (#4e4e4e). This is what's happening when the break is inserted into the header text: the height of the heading increases, causing more of the darker area of the background image/underlying colour to be visible.

  • How to change the column header name dynamically based on sysdate

    Dear All,
            i have designed some reports. i would like to change the column header dynamically based on sysdate. up to 24 months. can u help me, which add month function using the universe. i dont know if-then-else function is having the universe tool or not?

    Post Author: prasingh
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
    Are you saying you are not able to create an object by value (select: statement) as sysdate and put it onto the headers of your report? You can use the add_months() function on the object to add the numbers of months you wish.
    Please let me knnow for more.. You can get in touch with me on [email protected] for quick reply.

  • Field Header / Column Header Dynamic Name change

    Hi,
    I have built a query using SQ02 and SQ01. I have a question, what is the easiest way of changing the Column Header using ABAP Code? I have 3 columns which i have added myself,
    1st colum name should be the current month
    2nd column name should be current month +1
    3rd column name should be current month + 3
    ANy help would be appreciated
    thanks
    Adeel

    Hi Friend,
    For changing column name according to your requirement in ALV:
    take a variable type p (for example ws_month);
    pass month number.
    Go to table T247 and take month text and pass to
      WA_FIELDCAT-SELTEXT_M = 'Month Text'.
    Increment the month number by 1 and follow the same logic.
    You can implement the same logic for report also.

  • Popluate Column Heading Dynamically in UI

    HI Experts,
    I have a requirement where i  need to get column descriptions dynamically at item level in UI  depending on the process type.
    I have an order with two items, when i display the order from search result i go to order detail where i can see the items also.
    There is a column called net value as column heading, this populates the net price for each item.
    I need to show base price instead of NET PRICE which i am able to do that and column heading name is DNP.
    But DNP column heading  along with base price is required only for a particular process types , for remaining process types the NET VALUE column heading followed by net price should remain same.

    Hi,
    User can Maintain the Column Heading's, by the way you mentioned....
    Else you can use TOP-OF-PAGE event to build Dynamic Coulmn Headers.

  • Dynamic column heading in csv export not working

    Hi,
    I have a SQL report where the column headings are defined dynamically. for an example let's say I have a report
    SELECT NAME, TODAY'S_DATE FROM TABLE A.
    Under report attribute column I have defined column heading as "&P_todays_date.”. This item has source value “Select sysdate from dual. When I export the data into csv file the dynamic column headings are coming as blank.
    Any suggestions?

  • Changing the Column Header and Hiding the Column dynamically???

    Hi friends..
    I'm new to OBIEE field. I'm working in a OBIEE project that requires to dynamically change the column header, and dynamically hide the column depending on the prompt value.
    I know we can dynamically change the table header using the presentation variable but I couldn't do that same thing with column header.
    I searched some forums that suggest to use java script for this purpose but I'm not able to do the same also. If anyone had same issue before please help.

    toony, I'm not sure it's possible to do all that you want exactly the way you want, but here are some ideas you can pursue.
    To dynamically change column headers without javascript, check this blog out...
    http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2008/01/25/oracle-bi-ee-101332-dynamic-column-headers-using-presentation-variables-sets-and-conditional-formatting/
    As far as dynamically hiding a column, I don't think you can do this, but since you don't provide any details on how the PV is supposed to hide a column based on the value, are you talking about hiding a column for one PV value and another (different) column for a different PV value? Or are you talking about hiding one column when a PV has certain values and displaying it when the PV has a different set of values?
    I have managed to create both scenarios via a work-around, but the procedures require some writing so I don't want to put both. Please detail how you want your PV to "hide" a column or columns.
    P.S. I don't think column selectors will do the trick for you. Basically column selectors work like this: Say you have a report using Sales Region ID, Region Name, and Sales. Now let's say you want the user to choose if he/she wants to see annual sales, or quarter sales or weekly sales, etc. The column selector view would allow you to put the various columns (Year Sales, Quarter Sales, Weekly Sales) as an option the user can select. Once selected, the sales figure will change for the time period selected. For an example of how this is done, check out the section in this "Oracle by Example" link.
    Waited too long to publish this... Madan beat me to it, so there is some overlap here...

  • Change Table control Column Header text dynamically

    Hi,
    I have an requirement to change table control column header text dynamically.
    i.e. I have about 10 columns in table control, out that need to change 5 columns header text. These header texts are stored in an internal table.
    I had looked into the below link but could not get exactly how to do it.
    Dynamic headers in table control
    Could you please tell me how to do that.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Saba,
    What you will need to do is this.....
    1. First replace the column Header Text box by I/O Fields and name them accordingly.
    Say for example we will consider the same example which i had explained in the link.
    there in the column header we want the header to change when some dates and entered into two fields which are out of table control say
    Start Date: 01.01.2010 to End Date: 06.01.2010
    Now we want the header to look like this,
    Column  No.    -        1               2             3                  4               5               6
    Header label   -    01/FRI       02/SAT     03/SUN       04/MON     05/TUE      06/WED
    Header name -    SPOTS1   SPOTS2    SPOTS3      SPOTS4     SPOTS5    SPOTS6
    then you go as per the instructions in the link......
    Let me know if you need further help,
    Hope this solves your problem....
