Dynamic text not loading

Hello,
I have a flash movie(cs4) that has dynamic text. I pulled the .swf into Dreamweaver cs4 and uploaded to the server but when the site is up and running it will not load (also some of the buttons won't work either). They are in the same file as the .swf so I'm not sure that the file locations are the issue. Does anyone know why they may not be loading. They load fine when testing in flash. Thanks you.
Alicia

The site isnt complete. There is a lot of templates from when I was in school and partial images- just for the sake of testing. www.atomlindesign.com
I also need to fix other sizing issues and such. I am using Flash and DW CS4 the action script is 2.0 and my txt files, swf, and html files are in the same folder. I tried to publish my flash file into html file and upload to my server without using DW but it didnt work. So, I just pulled the swf into DW so I could have an html file to upload to server. I hope this makes sense. Thank you all for your help.

  • Dynamic text not loading properly in web browser

    Please help - I have a dynamic text field in a movieclip
    inside a main movieclip - Loading works well within Flash and
    GoLive but once I load the file to the web browser the dynamic text
    no longer display - It loads undefined in the text box. However
    when I remove the movieclip from main movieclip text display no
    problem in browser.

    make sure to 'embed' the font, into the textField instance.
    select the instance on the Stage, look in the properties panel, and
    click the 'embed' button, skipping 'all' select the next four
    listings, and hit enter.

  • Dynamic Text not loading when browser refreshes

    Hi All,
    For some reason, when the user refreshes the browser, the 'Welcome to our ....' dynamic text in the middle of my swf doesn't load in IE 8. I think this is somehow cache related maybe?
    I'm using a preloading container .swf to load the main movie swf, Interactive_StrategyMap.swf (located here: http://precorp.coop/fileshare/map/Interactive_StrategyMap.swf).
    You can view the behavior here: http://www.precorp.coop/fileshare/map/InteractiveStrategyMap.html
    Any ideas how I can fix this?
    Thanks,

    Ned... Ahh, it appears to be happening to me because I have the Tools/Internet option in IE selected "Check for new version of stored pages" to Automatically.

  • Add dynamic text to loader

    Hello,
    I'm trying to get dynamic text to parent to a loader. I don't get any errors, but once I add the code(commented out below) the text that is rendered through the renderText function stops showing up. Any ideas?
    //input Text
    line1Label.text = "Line 1";
    inputTextOne.text = "Custom Text: Line 1";
    stage.focus = inputTextOne;
    inputTextOne.addEventListener(TextEvent.TEXT_INPUT, renderText);
    var hasText: Boolean;
    function renderText (evt:TextEvent): void
    inputTextRender01.text = inputTextOne.text;
    hasText = true;
        if(hasText == true)
            //.BGContain.addChild(inputTextRender01); //trying to add the text to the loader BGContain....

    Hi Ned,
    Thanks for the input and feedback. I was able to get this to work by adding a complete event listener. The text shows up now. However, I have some images and now this text that I am trying to save as a PDF with alive PDF. The PDF saves fine, but the entered text does not save along with the PDF file. Right now I have the pdf saving everything in "BGContain" but for some reason I can't see the text in the pdf.
    //input Text
    line1Label.text = "Line 1";
    inputTextOne.text = "Custom Text: Line 1";
    stage.focus = inputTextOne;
    inputTextOne.addEventListener(TextEvent.TEXT_INPUT, renderText);
    inputTextOne.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, textComplete);
    var textToBitmap: BitmapData = new BitmapData(inputTextRender01.width, inputTextRender01.height, true, 0x00000000);
    function renderText (evt:TextEvent): void
    inputTextRender01.text = inputTextOne.text;
    function textComplete(event:Event)
        BGContain.addChild(inputTextRender01);
        textToBitmap.draw(inputTextRender01, new Matrix());

    hey,
    like the headline says i have a problem wit a dynamic text which i load from a .php file

  • Dynamic text not appears on swf export

    This was posted in the 'Getting Started' Forum, but no
    repsponses, so I am trying my luck here =)
    I am new to Captivate, so bear with me.
    I have created a Flash file that calls externally text to be
    loaded into a scrolling text field. This works fine as a standalone
    swf. When I import the swf into Captivate, I can see the dynamic
    text appear in the small preview pane of the import window, but NOT
    when I publish the Captivate movie. I have made sure to include the
    external txt files in the same directory.
    Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?
    TIA,
    Deb

  • Setting dynamic text not working in AS2

    I'm working on a complex file given to me by another designer
    and I'm having a problem with being able to set dynamic text.
    Basically, I just want to set the text of a nested instance (e.g.,
    with an instance called foo and a instance inside foo called bar,
    I'm using foo.bar.text = "test".) This works beautifully and as
    expected in a test file. But when I move the symbols and code to
    the other designer's file, nothing happens. I.e., the dynamic text
    is blank.
    I feel confident that I'm not making any errors (I'm using
    tested code and symbols!), but I cannot think what else could be
    causing the error. Mine is the only ActionScript in the entire
    file.
    Are there bugs with dynamic text? Could this have to do with
    font substitution? I did change the fonts to Arial and "device
    fonts" without effect.
    Thanks!

    I appreciate your taking the time to help me and others on
    this board. (I actually have another -- probably related question
    -- that has never been answered, but that one is more confusing
    because it involved multiple language support and worked *until* I
    embedded the font.)
    My understanding of Flash is definitely a mixed bag. I have
    encountered so many problems (really quirks) with Flash that I kind
    of start with the assumption that I'm dealing with something
    quirky.
    In this case, since I don't know your style, I just couldn't
    see where you were going with your questions. In any case, thanks.
    I'm smarter re Flash as a result of your help.

  • Dynamic text not displaying when publishing for flash 8

    This dynamic text works fine when the movie is published for
    flash 7, but when i export for the flash 8 player it seems to be
    invisible. Is there any obvious reason for this happenning?
    thanks
    jon

    Ok, thanks, looks like you've pointed me in the right
    direction. I havent fixed it yet though. Heres where i am at:
    eval(theTarget+".buttonPrime").tex.embedFonts = false;
    now i can see my text. of course its using a default font.
    var my_fmt:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
    my_fmt.font = "arial14b";
    eval(theTarget+".buttonPrime").tex.embedFonts = true;
    eval(theTarget+".buttonPrime").tex.text = "wasssup?";
    eval(theTarget+".buttonPrime").tex.setTextFormat = my_fmt;
    this isnt working. I have added a font object to the library
    and linked it for actionscript using the monkier "arial14b".
    however my text is quite invisible. i have checcked, 'export in
    first frame' for the font object i even tried it with this
    deselected. i have deselected the embed font option on the text
    feild itself. that doesnt work either (unless i dont try to set the
    text format, so long as i accept a default font, its fine).
    so err, help?
    confused
    jon
    ps further to this is have discovered more about this strange
    behaviour. i can set the text to a different string, provided i do
    not try to embed the font in any way. if i set the font to embed, i
    can have the text display with the correct font, until i change the
    text. then it dissappears. also i cannot seem to affect properties
    like font size by means of my TextFormat object. the textFormat
    object also does not seem to affect the font of the text.
    in short, when exporting for flash 8, i cannot seem to
    successfully embed fonts for dynamic text. the only thigs i have
    gotten to work are: static text (or a dynamic text feild with
    unchanged text) with an embedded font, or dynamic text with a
    default font.

  • Please Help -- Dynamic Text Wont Load :-(

    Hi Gang,
    I've just written a quick mail form in Flash8Pro/PHP - the
    user enters their contact details & a message, and it sends it
    off to the specified email address.
    The feature works fine for the most part, but there's one
    little problem. The dynamic text field that confirms the message
    has been sent successfully isn't working properly. I'm using the
    following php code to send dynamic text back to the flash document
    saying the message has gone through OK:
    print "sendresult=Message Sent!";
    where sendresult is the name of the dynamic text field's
    variable.
    The strange thing is that the code works fine if the
    sendresult dynamic text field is inserted into the main flash
    document. It's only when I put the sendresult field into the movie
    clip that holds the flash mail form (including the button with the
    loadvariablesnum command), that the text won't update at all. I've
    tried:
    print "_root.enquirypage.sendresult=Data Sent!"
    and
    print "enquirypage.sendresult=Data Sent!", but neither of
    those make any difference.
    Any suggestions? Anybody know what's causing this problem?
    Any help would be very very appreciated - I know I could probably
    get around this by just setting the visibility of the dynamic text
    field on & off when necessary and keeping it in the main flash
    doc, but I'll be using this feature quite a lot and I'd really like
    a proper/versatile solution. In case it's necessary, the
    actionscript that sends the message off to the php is just:
    loadVariablesNum ("form.php", 0, "POST");
    Many thanks in advance gang,
    - Jay

    Your code loadVariablesNum ("form.php", 0, "POST"); will load
    your variable sendresult in level 0 - the main timeline. If you put
    the text field inside a movie clip it expects a local variable in
    that movie clip.
    Use _level0.sendresult or _root.sendresult as the dynamic
    field's variable.
    Or, instead of loadVariablesNum you could use loadVariables,
    like this:
    _root.enquirypage.loadVariables("form.php", "POST");
    or, if you make the call from a button inside the movie clip:
    this.loadVariables("form.php", "POST");

  • Dynamic text not showing up under a mask

    Hi All,
    So like many people, I've discovered the joy that you cannot display dynamic text boxes if they are masked.
    After browsing the internet I found a few things to try, first embedding the font, which I have done, and that didn't work.
    The other solution involves setting the mask to a display object, which I've done, sort of.
    I create a Sprite() in code (I use Flex Develop, and never code on the time line), then use the Sprite.graphics to draw the mask, then set my main stage movieClip's .mask property to equal this layer.
    That didn't work either.
    Is there a third option?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tom

    mask removed, the text still displayed, but I'm not sure what you meant by that, I can't see the field for the text itself, just the text, which is fine because it isn't an input box, the textfield itself is part of a movieClip, and I am able to adjust it no problems.
    After some fiddling around and forehead banging against desk I found that if I just drew two boxes at the edges of my video on top of everything and the same color as my background, it would cover what I wanted to be covered and leave the rest visible. Not an elegant solution, admittedly, but the one that I found and that works in the time constraints I have.
    Thanks for trying to help me once again kglad.
    I'll learn to ask the right question one day, I think.

  • Dynamic Text Not Showing Up

    I placed the SCROLLABLE text in a Dynamic Text box, labeled
    the text, and set that same name as the Parameter on the UI
    Scrollbar. When the timeline reaches that point in the Timeline,
    the Scroll Bar appears, but not the text.
    Click on the INTRO link and you can see what happens.
    This is PROBABLY an easy fix for someone of intelligence.

    I'm going crazy here.
    I may need medication!!!

  • Using alerts with variables-"dynamic text" not working

    Hello all,
    I'm triggering an alert from a BPM, and have set the flag "dynamic text" on for the alert category associated with it. I'm doing it in a similar way to the blog 1382 by Michal:
    [/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/13/alerts-with-variables-from-the-messages-payload-xi--updated|/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/13/alerts-with-variables-from-the-messages-payload-xi--updated]
    The only difference is that I'm just assigning a fixed text instead of a payload element to the container element, which I've defined as simple type - string.
    However, the text of the alert doesn't show anything. I'm getting an email with just "Process <id>" as the subject and "Alert ID: <number>" in the body of the email (the same in the Alert Inbox).
    I'm starting to think that there could be something wrong in PI 7.1 which I'm using, as I've configured other alerts in scenarios without BPM without problem.
    Thanks for your suggestions!

    I've solved it using an alert from the Enterprise Services Builder (Integration Repository). It's a new feature in PI 7.1. It seems the tab "Container" in the alert category didn't exist before (that's why you don't find it in the weblogs of Michal and others) and now you have to use it.

  • Master data medium texts not loaded in table

    Hi,
    I have this Info Object which had only short texts enabled earlier.
    I changed this to enable the medium texts and I am loading the medium texts via a flat file.
    This worked fine in the development system and the medium texts were populated in the text table.
    However once I moved this object to quality; the medium texts are not getting loaded
    I debugged the transfer and update rules and I see that in the Development system, the generated program fills both the short and medium texts. However in Quality, the generated program only fills the short texts and no code exists for medium texts.
    Can you please let me know how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Sita.

    Hi,
    As our experts said  may be ur loading data from othe source also for that object
    If it is sure that u are loading data from flat file , u know that that object where it is used , either it is a standard object or custom object(Z object)
    if it is standard object then it will be used in different places at that time deleting the data also it is to difficult.
    u try once again first select the medium text check box and do the activation of that master data object and move the same to quality and check that medium text check box selection option is appering or not then it is appering
    then move the data sorce and Transformation and DTP and load the data and try to see the data.
    Thansk & Regards,

  • Dynamic Image Not Loading in viewer, but is in designer

    I have a project in a legacy language, and communicate with CR via odbc and text files. The odbc is set to operate in the current directory. When I run the report and preview, using a generated txt file it looks great all fields and the problem Picture, everything is good. But when you run the same data, through the viewer the Picture is the default, not the imbedded (through the formula). The designer can open the same files after and its perfect.  The project is basicall a report with 66 text lines on the page, the 67th line is tied to the image as its location. 66 out of 67 lines work every time, but the Picture formula only works in the designer.
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
    Moved to Legacy Developer Support...
    Typically it's a permission issue where the images are saved, the host app does not have access to the folder where the images are saved.
    Thank you

  • Dynamic text won't display

    I don't know if this is a bug. I have a movie that contains a
    dynamic text. When I run it, the text displays fine. But when the
    said movie is run through another movie clip (using loadMovie), the
    dynamic text won't display. Any ideas why? Thank you.

    Than again, it's a bug on your end :)
    Dynamic text is a text container, it's to be use with
    dynamically given data, from
    source file or variable string on timeline. It's not meant to
    be for regular text
    display. You need to use Static text. The fact that you can
    see it it's just flash
    being tolerant but it only lasts for as long as the movie is
    getting more complex.
    You can get away with somethings even tho you should not be
    using them, does not
    mean they will work all the way. Dynamic text, as said above
    is for text that comes
    to flash from outside source and this is when it works best.
