Dynamically change waveform's y scale properties

I have 8 stacked plots on a waveform. I would like to dynamically change the y scale name and min/max values for each plot (the user selects these).
Is it possible? Changing any of these properties only seem to effect the first plot. I have also tried setting Active Plot dynamically but it only effects the plot related properties (eg: Plot name).

Hello abdel2,
Please post the version of LabVIEW you are using as well as a screenshot of what you would like to achieve on the Front Panel.  Please also attach your VI for review and suggestions.

  • How to dynamically changes items properties

    How to dynamically changes items properties likes position order in tabular view, width, prompt

    Many object properties can be set programmatically at runtime. For example, each window object has a Visible property that can be set to either Yes or No to show and hide the window. At runtime, you can call the built-in procedure SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY to show or hide the window dynamically, as shown here:
    Set_Window_Property('my_window',VISIBLE, PROPERTY_ON);
    The following built-in procedures are available for setting object properties at runtime:
    -     SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY
    -     SET_CANVAS_PROPERTY
    -     SET_FORM_PROPERTY
    -     SET_ITEM_PROPERTY
    -     SET_LOV_PROPERTY
    -     SET_MENU_ITEM_PROPERTY
    -     SET_PARAMETER_ATTR
    -     SET_RADIO_BUTTON_PROPERTY
    -     SET_RECORD_PROPERTY
    -     SET_RELATION_PROPERTY
    -     SET_VIEW_PROPERTY
    -     SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY
    The built-in procedure SET_ITEM_PROPERTY can be used to set the properties of any type of item, including buttons, text items, check boxes, radio groups, etc.
    Note: Radio group items include individual radio buttons; use SET_ITEM_PROPERTY to set the properties of the radio group, and SET_RADIO_BUTTON_PROPERTY to set the properties of the individual buttons in the group.
    Each built-in SET procedure has a corresponding GET function that allows you to programmatically determine the current setting of an object's properties. The following example uses GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY to determine if a window is currently hidden (VISIBLE = FALSE). If the window is hidden, SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY is called to show the window.
    If Get_Window_Property('my_window',VISIBLE) = 'FALSE' THEN
    Set_Window_Property('my_window',VISIBLE,PROPERTY_ON);
    To determine if a particular property can be set programmatically, refer to the property descriptions in online Help.

  • Dynamic change Rootuielement's properties such as swfFile value in WdDoModi

    Hi experts,
    I need to dynamically change one of the view's Rootuielement's properties - SWFFILE in WDDOMODIFYVIEW method.  I did some research, and could not figure out what the field is called (such as whether it is considered as an elemement), and how it is referernced in the WD programming.  As a result, I am able to search for reusable class and method for my need.  Could you please shine some light on me?  By the way, I am on basis 7.02 release.
    Thank you very much,
    Debbie

    Hi Debbie,
    As how mentioned by Pooja the ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER is of type CL_WD_TRANSPARENT_CONTAINER. You can obtain its reference from within your WDDOMODIFYVIEW by saying as:
    data: lr_root type ref to cl_wd_uielement_container.
    lr_root ?= view->get_element( id = 'ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER'  ).
    Or
    You can directly use the below method to skip passing any id:
    lr_root ?= view->get_root_element(  ).

  • Is it best to set waveform graph scale properties before or after sending new data to the graph?

    Hi I'm wondering when is the best time to update waveform graph scale properties.
    I am sampling data every 15 minutes for 192 samples, i.e. 48 hours.  I want to plot these samples with the x scale in absolute time mode so that x scale maximum is the current time and x scale minimum is x max minus 48 hours (172800 seconds).  I also want the intermediate scale markers to be 6 hours apart and to be multiples of whole 6 hours.  e.g. at 06:00, 12:00, 18:00.  This works OK using property nodes but sometimes the intermediate markers are on the 6 hour multiples and sometimes they are at 6 hours after the min scale marker.  e.g. 09:15, 15:15, 21:15.  Is there a way of guaranteeing that the intermediate markers will be on the 6 hour multiples?
    Thanks,
    Neville

    Hi Bryan,
    Thanks for your reply.  I have discovered that I can achieve what I want by using an XY graph instead of a waveform graph.  I want X max to be the current time and X min the be 48 hours earlier with intermediate scale markers on multiple of 6 hours.  The XY graph in the attached VI does exactly that but I can't get the waveform graph to behave as I would like.  Is there a way of getting the waveform graph to behave as I would like?
    Thanks,

  • Dynamically change stage size on runtime

    Hi everyone,
    I need to change the stage size dynamically.
    When i try to do this............
    size_mc.onRelease = function(){
        trace(Stage.height);
        Stage.height += 100;
        trace(Stage.height);
    it comes always the current stage size.
    Thanks in advance

    You cannot change the width and height properties of the Stage using code--it must be done in the editor.  The width and height values can represent different things depending on the value you set for the scale mode, but you cannot reassign them to different values dynamically.
    The solution just offered to you is under the same rules, the stageWidth and stageHeight values cannot be assigned using code, but that code is AS3 code so it will not fit in your AS2 design in any case.
    The same goes for the followup offered in AS2.  You will notice the stage size is not being changed... it cannot be.  This is just a full screen design solution, but is not a soltuion to changing the stage size.  The stage size can only be changed manually in the authoring environment.  I don't know that the offering is answering what you are really trying to do, but it is not answering the titled task of dynamically changing the stage size

  • Dynamically Changing Labels for Multi Row Block Buttons

    Forms [32 Bit] Version 9.0.4.1.0 (Production)
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit Production
    On my local: Windows 7 OS
    I am having a difficult time in doing the following in forms, and not sure if it can be done?
    I have a multi row block,based on DB table, which displays filename and another column from the table.
    It also has a push button on each row, which opens and displays the physical file from its source, when clicked. The filename thus can have 3 diff statuses depending on its sources and accordingly corresponding button should display appropriate label:
    a) View Image (its is in content server and successfully imaged. In this case I display the file in the browser, from the content server, when the button is clicked)
    b) View File (Display the file from file system)
    c) View Error (Display imaging error message from the table, as file failed to make it to the imaging server)
    I have this logic currently coded in the post query trigger, at the block level, and tried using set_item_property(button_id, label, <button_lable>), where I programmatically set the button lable, based on the file status (imaged, not imaged or has error) in that row. This wroks well, only if all the files in the multi row block have the same status. If each of them have diff statuses, then only last processed files's status gets reflected into the button label. For eg: The file in the first row of the block is imaged, and one in the second row has an imaging error. The button label for the first row should say 'View Image' and button for the second row should say 'View Error'. But now buttons for both the rows display 'View Error', as thats what got processed last!
    I __can not use set_item_instance property for 'label'__ (which lets us dynamically change the label on the push buttons).
    Is there any way to do this for ORacle forms? I am now playing with having 3 diff button items in that block, laying them on top of each other and showing only those that are appropriate and hiding the others... But I am not sure it is going to give me what I need? I think I am going to end up facing the same issues as in above case!!
    Any expert advice is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance for your time:

    <p>I have just updated this existing PJC, that was originally constructed to handle Text Fields. You can, now, also handle buttons with it.
    Set the Button's Implementation Class property to : oracle.forms.fd.MultiButton.

  • Displaying dynamically changing image: a problem with JLabel.

    Hello! I use NetBeans 5.5 and I develop my GUI with Matisse. I'm rather a beginner in developing GUIs with this editor...
    I'd like to display a dynamically changing image. The idea is: GUI shows the image, that is modified as some computations run in a different thread. App will be run on a single machine.
    I'm trying to display the image as a label's icon. The problem is that my app's frame can be resized - and when it is, the label also resizes. When the label is resized, the image should also be resized - the image should always be of the same size as the label. The problem? I noticed, that it works only when I make my app's bigger. When I try to lower its dimensions, the label's dimensions remain the same. Why the label don't make its size smaller?
    My code works as follows: when app's main frame is resize, the panel (the one, that the label is placed in) is also resized. And, since the label is in the panel, it (should) also be resized. So I wrote all the resize-events handlers (therefore I know that the resize event is sent when my app's frame is resized, and when the panel is resized - but the label is resized only when it grows bigger). In this methods I modify the image displayed in the label (I resize the image).
    Or, perhaps, there is some other way to show a (dynamically changing) image with Swing... I chose JLabel, because I didn't want to write my own JComponent. JLabel can display image and that is all I need. The problem is: when the label grows bigger, I create a new, bigger image (icon). Why my label don't get smaller (the resize event isn't even sent)?

    There is no component that dynamically resizes an image. You need to create your own. Something like this:
    JComponent component = new JComponent()
         protected void paintComponent(Graphics g)
              //  Scale image to size of component
              g.drawImage(yourImage, 0, 0, getWidth(), getHeight(), null);
    };

  • Dynamically Change Ni HSDIO Channels

    I am currently using a PXI-6552 to generate and acquire I2C waveforms simultaneous.  I would like to know if it is possible (and how I would go about it) to dynamically change channels.  My goal is to just pass the two NI-HSDIO references (the purple variables) to a new subVI that I will create to change from 5 channels to a different set of 5 channels.  For instance:
    Pseudo-Code:
    initalize PXI sessions;
    for(i = 0; i < 10; i++)
    Set channels 0-5;
    Run generate and acquire;
    Stop acquisition;
    Set channels to 6-10;
    Run generate and acquire;
    Stop acquisition;
    Set channels to 11-15;
    Run generate and acquire;
    Stop acquisition;
    close PXI sessions;
    Basically I need the quickest way to switch acquisition channels without having to initalize and close the sessions every time.
    I am currently using the HWC functions downloaded in the .zip example from here: http://www.ni.com/example/31200/en/. (I also attached the two that are necessary for my problem).
    Init HWC Device.vi:  (also attached)
    Run HWC Device.vi:  (also attached)
    I believe the VIs I may need are Assign Dynamic Channels, Configure Idle State, and Configure Initial State.  However I am not sure if those are the only ones.  If it is possible, do I have to close the original channels and then assign more?  Or does re-calling "Assign Dynamic Channels" automatically disable all non-assigned channels?  Etc.
    The important things to note:  I am setting 5 channels at a time -- for both acquisition AND generation.   I need to close the channels and switch to 5 different channels -- for both acquisition AND generation.  All channels should be set to "z" state for high-impedance at all times.
    If you need any other information, please let me know!  Thank you in advance for any suggestions/assistance.

  • Support MIDI and dynamic change FRAME RATE

    What MACROMEDIA says about support by FLASH, midi files and
    dynamic change FRAME RATE of the movie?
    this is two nuances that does not suffice me.
    And what about macromedia FLASH 9? When it comes?

    For dimension changing use something like this (is a part of a bash script for video edition so ...) :
    # Le quitamos el over-scan al ancho. OJO!! debe seguir siendo MULTIPLO de OCHO
    WIDTH_SCALED=$(($OUTPUT_V_WIDTH-$OUTPUT_OVS*8)) #multiplicamos el overscan por 8(4 pixeles a cada lado)
    # Obtenemos relacion de aspecto de forma mas precisa
    if [ "$OUTPUT_V_ASPECT" == "1.7777" ]; then # formato panoramico
    ASPECT_PRECISE=`echo "16/9"| bc -l`
    else
    ASPECT_PRECISE=`echo "4/3"| bc -l` # y el formato normal
    fi
    HEIGHT_SCALED=`echo "(${INPUT_V_HEIGHT}*${OUTPUT_V_HEIGHT}*${ASPECT_PRECISE})/${INPUT_V_WIDTH}"| bc -l`
    # Necesito que el alto sea MULTIPLO DE CUATRO para que la longitud del PADDING sea PAR y simplificar el codigo... introduzco un error de 3.999999 pixels (en el peor de los casos)
    HEIGHT_SCALED=$((`echo "scale=0 ; $HEIGHT_SCALED/4"| bc -l`*4))
    # Calculo el Padding
    OUTPUT_V_PAD_WIDTH=$(($OUTPUT_OVS*4))
    OUTPUT_V_PAD_HEIGHT=`echo "scale=0 ; ($OUTPUT_V_HEIGHT-$HEIGHT_SCALED)/2"| bc -l`
    Don't bother about the comments . Is spanish .
    What you want is :
    HEIGHT_SCALED=`echo "(${INPUT_V_HEIGHT}*${OUTPUT_V_HEIGHT}*${ASPECT_PRECISE})/${INPUT_V_WIDTH}"| bc -l`
    About frame rate - this is video edition and i think you can not do this in java . Is more complicated than a simple calc . Under linux i'm using ffmpeg to change fps and encode from avi to mpeg2 .

  • Dynamically changing the report path

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Yes you can run a VI in the ReportOptions Sequence, add it to the Setup of that sequence. If you dont use FileGlobals.Dated anywhere else then use a Local instead. Just remeber FileGlobals are only global to sequences that are contained in a SequenceFile. They are not global across SequenceFile unless you are using the Batch Process Model.
    You will probably have to set a number of other parameters up to work with ReportOptions.Directory. The best way to handle this is to setup up you exact conditions statically (ie via the Config | Report Options... menu ). Place a breakpoint in the ReportOptions (use a label if you dont have any steps in the ReportOptions sequence at the moment) and run your Sequence. Remeber to use Test UUTs or Single Pass. You dont have to use your full test sequence just create a simple one step sequence.
    When you reach the break point, then you can browse the Parameters.ReportOptions and see what properties are required to ensure your reports are setup correctly.
    Hope this helps.

  • DYNAMICALLY CHANGE MENU

    Hi All,
    My requirement is that When I run a Software through Main form a Customize menu is attached as per user logon.
    For example user admin is a.mmx menu and user operator is b.mmx menu file.
    When user admin is logon then menu is a.mmx appear in form and when user operator is logon then menu b.mmx is appear. I means menu is dynamically changed. I want to change this programmaticaly.
    I dont want to attach the file mannauly through form properties. I want to attach menu file as user level file menu. Menu file is save in file system not a database.
    any solution pls.
    Muhammad Farooq

    for ur current requirement
    u can use replace_menu() built-in in when-new-form-instance trigger.
    there is an alternative method
    create a single menu item(for both operator and admin)
    select user profile at runtime.
    hide/unhide menu,menu-item according to user at when-new-form-instance trigger

  • Dynamically changing column display type

    Hi,
    I have a report that gets generated every day with different column names. The report contains a decode statement that uses a row value to return using pictures. The problem I am running into is the column is being displayed as text and the value of the row is showing up as some html text instead of the picture. The default Column report in APEX 4.1 is for the report to be displayed as "Display as Text". I know the APEX team did this for security reasons. Is there any other way to display the column as "Standard Report Column".
    I want the report to be displayed as a "Standard Report Column" instead of me going in and changing it manually to "Standard Report Column".
    Any help in the right direction is appreciated.
    -Abe

    I have been trying to find the same solution... the ability to either default all my columns to "Standard Report Column" instead of "Display as Text" or to dynamically change them from code. Or it would even be great if the "Display As" value on report columns (both Classic Reports and Interactive, mine is Classic) was a column in the "Column Attributes" table on the "Report Attributes" page so that I could just change them all and hit "Apply" from that one page instead of having to go into each column's properties individually. (It's time consuming and tedious and easy to miss columns because I can't tell what I've changed.)
    If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them...

  • How Can you dynamically change a canvas frame title?

    I am looking for a way to dynamically change the title of a frame on a canvas.

    Jim,
    frames on a canvas are graphic objects that cannot be controlled using properties. To obtain dynamic frame labels, all you can do is to have a Display Item instead of the frame label.

    Partner link properties are simple name-value pair properties that
    are defined and can be accessed at runtime by the BPEL process.
    The value of a property can be changed from Oracle BPEL Console
    at runtime without having to redeploy the BPEL process.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Set the configuration property retryMaxCount on a partnerlink
    2. Enter the BPEL Console, click on the process and then the descriptor tab.
    3. Not seeing a utility to change the value in the BPEL Console.

    Hi Dave,
    the console only allows changes to activation agent properties.
    There are two kinds of partnerlinks. Those associated with a receive (inbound, activation), and those associated with an invoke (outbound, webservices invoke). Only the former polling process properties can be configured from the console.
    Outbound there are only a handfull of properties and the lifecycle management is not the same.
