E-Learning Toolkit - using the Learning Site

I don't know if anyone wil be able to help me or not but I'll
give it a shot:-
I have recently bought a copy of the Dreamweaver MX
e-Learning Toolkit by Michaal Doyle. My version of Dreamweaver is
Dreamweaver MX 2004 which may be why I am havign a problem.
I have created my e-learning package but i am having problems
setting up the M/S Access database to track results of the tests i
have written into to the package.
The book tells go into Site/Learning Site/Modify Learnign
Site and then put a tick in the Data Tracking box on the site tab,
but for some reason thsi is greyed out so i cannot tick it!! It
does say next to the tab that this requires Dreamweaver UltraDev
but this software is no longer available. I need to do this so i
can Define the DSN which then gives me access to the admin site.
Can anyone help - if you need any more info just let me know

Ecwid supports responsive layout, which means that the store pages can adapt to the visitor's screen width on the fly and keep the layout clean and nice. Your products and categories lists will be fit for any window's size, as Ecwid will calculate the most suitable number of products or categories in row automatically. In other words, Ecwid looks great on any mobile devices. You can check how your Ecwid store may look on smartphones and tablets, if you see your Starter Site (what it is).
However, if you want Ecwid reveals itself in all its glory, you should embed your Ecwid store into website, which also support responsive layout, because if the site doesn’t adapt to size screen, Ecwid is not able to determine how it should be changed since it’s just a part of the site.
We’ve checked your site and found that you used Adobe Muse for building your site. ExportPDF is definitely available in the United Kingdom. However, it's necessary that you have an Adobe ID, and credit card and billing address from the same country in which you're trying to purchase a subscription.
If you are using an email address (Adobe ID), and credit card/billing address from the United Kingdom, and are still unable to subscribe, please let us know and we'll take it from there. (And, if you're receiving an error message when you try to subscribe, let us know. That will help us figure out what's going wrong.)

Can I use the desktop site as the tablet site?

I've added the tablet site with the atributes of the desktop site but it doesn't copy the content. Is there a way to do this without recreating the content seperatly?

In general the desktop site can be created such that it works fine on tablet devices. In fact there are tablet devices with screens larger than some PCs, so it's a bit of a grey area as to what exactly defines a tablet versus a PC given tablet screens are getting larger and many PCs are adding touch screens.
In many cases designing a desktop site and a phone site is sufficient. Given the large difference in screen size and the highly mobile nature of a site visitor using a phone, it's likely a fundamentally different design with a different organization of your data would be better received by your site visitors from their phones than anything Muse might automagically do to create a long scrolling strip on a cell phone from each of your desktop pages.
A desktop site that limits use of rollover states (since rollover is, at best, simulated on touch devices) and makes anything clickable/touchable slightly larger in order to be touch friendly is often sufficent to address both desktop and tablet visitors.
A phone site that's organizaed to present contact information, directions/map and just the key aspects for your site, deferring to your desktop site for more detailed information, may present a better user experience than replicating all the pages/content from your desktop site in a phone form factor.

HT4059 We are unable to download a book for purchase from the iBook store because it says you are not authorized to use the iBooks United States site and must use the Canadian site. How do we do this?

We have always been able to purchase books from iBooks no problem but all of a sudden it says you cannot purchase this book as you aren't authorized to use the US store and must connect to the Canadian store. We cannot figure out how to do this. Help!

Have sites not compatible with Firefox. How do I use Firefox as default and still be able to use the other sites?

I would like to continue to use Firefox as my default browser. However several sites I use regularly only support the "other" browser. Is there a way to identify those non friendly sites and have them open in different browser?

Not really. Some outdated sites might have a "Best experienced with Internet Explorer" note around somewhere, but even those might work just fine in Firefox.

Can I use the mobile site as the tablet site?

What i would like is to see my phone site when I view my site on the tablet. Currently I have created a phone and desktop version, but when I view with a tablet I see the desktop version.
I realize you can click the tablet tab, copying the phone version to there and create a separate set of files for the tablet. However, what I would like to do is only update two versions (web and phone) when my content changes rather than having to update three versions.

Anyone used the Global Site Selector yet ?

I believe it came out a couple of months ago. I'm looking at one versus the F5 3DNS boxes. Any thoughts ?

I haven't used it yet, but I am also interested if anyone else has some info on it.

A question regarding using a Dreamweaver site to manage a WordPress site?

Using Mac OS X I have installed and configured MAMP to edit a WordPress site.
I have setup a DW CC site to help with this editing, and all files are behaving as expected.
I would now like to take this to the next level.
As I develop the site plan for the future, I am unsure of the local folder structure I need to use if I want to use the capability of the SQL database to manage logins and landing pages.
In other words, do I put the root folders for other html sites in the same root directory level as the WordPress folder?
Can I then (with some individual tweaking of php files and the database(s), use this organization method to author a number of standalone sites with unique logins?

Sounds to me you want to use the multi-site option in Wordpress. That way you can setup a network of (related or unrelated) sites in Wordpress, and assign different logins, themes, and so on, to each site as well.
Study the official documentation before you begin:

In this case you should stay away from any manual mysql tinkering - no need for that with multisites in Wordpress. Of course, you can still use DW to edit the theme files, if you so wish.

Firefox is using large amounts of CPU time and disk access, and I need to know how to shut down most of this so I can actually use the browser.

Firefox is a very busy piece of software. It's using large amounts of CPU time and disk access. It puts my usage at low priority, so I have to wait for some time to be able to use my pointer or keyboard. I don't know what it uses all that CPU and disk access time for, but it's of no use to me. It often takes off with massive use of resources when I'm not doing anything, and I may not have use of my pointer for several minutes. How can I shut down most of this so I can use the browser to get my work done. I just want to use the web site access part of the software, and drop all the extra. I don't want Firefox to be able to recover after a crash. I just want to browse with a minimum of interference from Firefox. I would think that this is the most commonly asked question.
