Applecare exchanged my iPod but now when I goto setup facetime it tells me that my e-mail is already in use.

Your email address should already be in use by the Apple iD you used with your previous iPod.
Did you try to "restore" your old information to your new iPod?
Are you by chance trying to use using a different Apple iD for FaceTime on the new one?
If not, try restarting your new iPod before configuring FaceTime again:

Then check the iPod User instructions for Guide FaceTime and Settings carefully to be sure you are following the procedure.

    You may have more than one Apple ID that shares the same email address.

    I have the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display, and my Apple Mail has always worked just fine. About a week ago, I recieve a message saying "Mail cannot access your mailbox information because it’s already in use." The dialogue box gave me the options of "Rebuilding Mailbox Information" or quitting the application. Rebuilding does absolutely nothing, and every time I try to open Mail I get the same response and have to quit. I haven't added any apps or anything that would affect my mail; what's going on?     You can change the primary email address on an account by logging into it via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com, or via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, or by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and logging into it.
    You won't be able to change it to an email address that is being used an alternate or rescue email address on the account (they can be viewed/changed/removed via http://appleid.apple.com), nor to one that is currently being used as the primary email address on an account

    If you selected open a new Apple ID account, go back a step and enter use existing Apple ID.
    You will have to set up a separate iCloud account or your iPads will mirror each other.

    So you made a new Apple ID? Unfortunately that won't work. Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one ID to another and Apple does not merge Apple IDs. What should have been doen is mearely change the email address that was associated with the Apple ID.

    The only way that you can do this now is with a new email address if you used your current email address for the new Apple ID.

    Clicking on either one quits Mail. I am receiving my emails. I can even send my self a test email and receive it before it freezes up in 20-30 seconds. My ISP thinks it's a "Kernal" software problem.
    Through advice by a friend, I have tried:
    Applications - Utililities - Disk Utilities -  and selected my hard drive and then click Repair Permissions
    Rebooted a bunch of times. The first time Repair Permissions printed a few pages of stuff. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th times, it printed out this:

  • Mail for Exchange already in use error when sendin...

    We have a number of Nokia E50-1 on Vodafone network which we are using Mail for Exchange 2.5.3 (mfe) to sync emails with a microsoft Small Business Server 2003 (SBS2003). When we try to reply or send a new email from the E50 we get the error "Mail for Exchange: Already in use". This happens even if the sync is set to manual and email is set to send with next sync. Very ocassionally a message will go if we keep retrying.
    Does anyone know how to resolve this?

    great forums, hopefully someone has some more info on this, as i am getting the same issue.
    I had mail for exchange working with my e71 no worries and then i added my home TPG account. the TPG account would not work for some reason, not that it overtly worried me, but then when i tried sending mail through exchange (either reply or new mail) i get the error message 'Mail for exchange: already in use'
    I have removed the TPG account, rebooted the thing several times, all sorts of stuff - nothing seems to work. it is still syncing and i am receiving email, i just can't send...!!
    any troubleshooting tips or further info would be greatly appreciated

    I have had an account for some time. I tried to log on yesterday to be told my credetials were wrong. I tried to reset my password but get 'your session timed out' message after less than 30 seconds! (happened 4 times). I then tried to access my account with my e-mail address.     There is a process, an article about how to find your apple id and get access to it. It is named Apple ID: Finding your Apple ID found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625?viewlocale=en_US
    You start at the top, and work your way down.
    If you can't remember your Apple ID, you can find it by using the password retrieval process at My Apple ID. Follow these steps to recover your Apple ID name:
    Go to My Apple ID and click "Find your Apple ID."
    Complete all the required fields that might be associated with your Apple ID.
    Note: If multiple email addresses have an Apple ID, select your current or most recently used email address.

To place calls to a FaceTime user on an iPod touch or a Mac you must use one of their registered FaceTime e-mail addresses that is configured on that particular device.
    This may be a little out of date, as you can now register an email address for an iPhone I believe, but the address should be unique to the iPhone.

    I presume that you are trying to set up your Sync account and the system is telling you that the email you are trying to use is already in use. If you have the Sync key and the password, follow these instructions:
