EA2: Changing SQL History window column resizing

Reducing the width of columns in the SQL History window by dragging the left edge of the column to the right causes all columns to the right to be resized. This is unwelcome as the size of these may already have been set as desired.
Windows XP Professional SP2
Oracle Server 10.2.0.3
Java 1.5.0_06
Intel Pentium M 1.69GHz 2GB RAM

Yes, I'd say that's unwelcome for me too.
Same happens in the Autotrace space, but not in the Explain Plan!?
Something similar can be found in the connections dialog, only that it's fully automated here, you can't resize the space between listed connections and connection details yourself. Instead you have to widen the dialog a lot to be able to see the useful information. And when it does, it doubles in size in just 1 step, instead of smoothly like the History.
Any chance to get full manual control over all these?
Thanks,
K

  • EA3/EA2 - SQL History Timestamp column

    The formatting of the Timestamp column in the SQL History now uses the NLS Timestamp Format (yay!), but unfortunately does not cope with the seconds component of the format:
    NLS Timestamp Format is DD-Mon-YYYY HH24:MI:SSXFF
    Timestamp column in the SQL History displays as 25-Feb-2008 15:03:.
    I assume from what has previously shown in the SQL History timestamp column (2/25/08 3:03 PM) that we do not record seconds in the SQL History timestamp. I don't really have a problem with that, but can we please trim the second and sub-second components from the format?
    theFurryOne

    Just to add, this specific problem has been fixed. Hiding of sec/mill-sec information is handled by ignoring 'S/F', '.X', ':X' fields . But keeping the bug open so that a more generic fix is made which will handle symbols like '#SSXFF' in time field.

  • SAP Script :change position of window margins (resize window)

    Hi,
    how to change position of window margins (resize a window)?
    Sounds very simple, but when I open my SAPScript form in layout editing mode it does not allow me to change values of window margins...
    Regards,
    Mindaugas

    Hi...
    Make sure your entering language and orginal language of the script is same or not.
    utilities -> convert orginal language..
    Procedure if you are using English as entering language:
    Enter script name -> Enter language as DE -> change -> utiliteis -> convert orginal language -> change it DE to EN -> now back and re-enter into script...

  • EA3 - SQL History window refresh problem

    Hi, I have noticed that version 1.2 (possibly farther back) up to and including 1.5 EA3 have a issue with refreshing the SQL history window in a special scenario.
    If the tab is completely undocked from SQL developer and then expanded across two monitors, as I scroll down the parts of the data rows on the non-primary monitor are not refreshed and become jagged.
    I am running SQL developer on Win XP SP2 with whatever version of Java came with EA3.

    Thanks, that seemed to work. It looks like Java is painting the grid in two parts now, with the non-default monitor side being second, but at least it repaints.
    As far as a default, I did already have the following option in the config file:
    AddVMOption -Dsun.java2d.ddoffscreen=false
    I don't what difference the -J option makes but that's what I had. Thanks again.

  • EA1 - SQL History Timestamp format

    Feature Request "SQL History Timestamp - NLS Date format" (Use the current NLS Date or Timestamp Format preference for formatting the Timestamp displayed in the SQL History window) is listed as Scheduled for 1.5 but has not been included.

    Rakesh,
    Thanks for the update. I assumed that it hadn't been done yet, as it is using a different "default" NLS date format from the results tab, which also is not picking up the NLS date format preference.

  • BUG in purging sql history entries...

    Hi folks,
    I am using 1.5 and have been using also the versions before. Great that the sql-history window is dockable now, much more useful this way...But...
    it is still totally ununderstanble to me, with wich rule entries in the sql-history are being purged. I just open the sqldev again, and see almost entries removed. When does that happen, is it possible to configure this setting?

    Hi guys,
    yes, I mean an arbitrary purge. Like, you finish your job for today, close sqldev, go home, come back the next day and only 4 or 5 entries of the log are still there... (???)
    No problem, I have full understanding for an algorithm for purging entries older than two or four days, or something similar. But until now, there was no repliccable rule in that process!
    By the way, I cannot find a sqlhistory.xml in my install-directory...

  • 30EA1 SQL History spikes cpu and hangs, un-usable

    app works fine until I open the sql history (F8) , cpu spikes and stays above 50% until I close history window. As soon as I close it, the app is responsive again.
    I have less than 1000 entries in the sql history window.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

    There have been performance issues associated with having the SQL History pane open (30EA1: SQL History performance so if you have that open, you could try with it closed. Maybe that is bug 10233068 that gggraham referred to, but I couldn't find another reference to that bug on the forum and it is not a published bug.

  • 30EA1: SQL History performance

    when I press F8 to show sql history, the application performance become very slow,
    happen to you?

    Previously I thought it was just the SQL history window that was slow, but it turns out to be the whole app.
    I found that doing a simple select returning 16 rows took ~2 seconds with SQL history off and ~7 seconds with it turned on.

  • Get an error for changing the windows authentication mode to the both SQL and windows authentication mode

    I installed the SQL server Express 2008 R2 and then SQL Server Management Studio 2008 R2 . But during the installation, I could not choose the both SQL and windows authentication mode and an error accrued so I did that just with windows authentication mode.
    Now, I want to change the windows authentication mode account to the SQL authentication mode but it shows me an error which is you do not have permission (Although I am the administrator in windows), what can I do?
    Following steps are the steps that I went but I got an error:
    Server properties >> security >> choose the option of SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode
    and the error that I got is attached(access is denied)
    Can you please help me?

    You can change the setting after you gain admin rights to your SQL Server. You don't admin rights automatically, you have to explicitly add yourself during the install
    Here's a guide on how to (re)gain those rights:

  • What Option Allows Permanent Change of Query in the Show SQL Query Window?

    I am trying to create a report in Crystal Reports v8.5 (or v10).  I would like to create the report by simply cutting and pasting an SQL query from SQL Designer into the appropriate place in Crystal Reports.  I can paste the query into the "Show SQL Query" window, but it reverts back to something else.  What Option do I change to allow me to do that, i.e, change the query in the "Show SQL Query" window?

    Hi Alan,
    In CR10 there is no option to past SQL qurety in Show Sql command option.  There is another option provided 'Add Commad' to execute customized SQL queries.  After connecting to your datasource before selecting tables you can choose Add Command option and past your SQL queries.
    Also you can modify the queries which you have pasted in add command.
    Thanks,
    Sastry

  • SQL History change???

    I am running SQL Developer 4.0.0.12 (EA 2).
    When I highlight an entry in SQL History and click or double-click, shouldn't this entry be placed in the Worksheet area??
    I believe that this was the behaviour in 3.2.x versions.
    Murray

    Hi Murray,
    For me, SQL History append into a Worksheet works fine with double-click, but not single-click, on both 3.2.2 and 4.0EA2.  The Append and Replace icons in the SQL History toolbar also work fine for both versions (even for selections of multiple SQL History lines).
    So if double-click does not work for you, you might try:
    1. Running ...\bin\sqldeveloper.exe from the command line to see if any errors or warnings appear in the console.
    2. Try to reproduce the issue after a remove or rename of the SQL Developer\system4.0.0.12.84 directory in your user's home directory.

  • 30EA2: Hangs on opening SQL History

    Hi,
    After EA1's pretty strong performance impact regarding SQL History, I was hoping for improvement in EA2.
    However, after installing, migrating from 2.1.1, and setting preferences, I connected and selected the SQL History entry from the Edit menu. Then sqldev just hung with 50% CPU use (distributed over both cores), and never came back. After almost an hour I just killed it.
    Right now I'm trying again; I just ran sqldev, and selected the SQL History entry from the Edit menu.
    What's happening? Here's a dump if it helps:

    Sorry guy, at this point I killed sqldev. I will skip further testing until EA3, in the hope that will address these issues.
    I regret so much the history mechanism has changed. Why on earth did you guys do so?
    Everything was so accessible and responsive... Now various users noted various problems.
    Haven't you heard of the golden rule: "don't change working code"?
    Why not take care of all recent issues and revert to as it was before?

  • Div moves down when window is resized

    Hello,
    Here's my problem:  When I resize my browser window the main div is resized up until a certain point when it just falls below all of the other content.
    How can I prevent this from happening?  I have both the top and bottom div's set to auto width, so I can't figure out whats going wrong.

    /* Tips for sidebars:
    1. Since we are working in percentages, it's best not to use side padding on the sidebars. It will be added to the width for standards compliant browsers creating an unknown actual width.
    2. Space between the side of the div and the elements within it can be created by placing a left and right margin on those elements as seen in the ".thrColLiqHdr #sidebar1 p" rule.
    3. Since Explorer calculates widths after the parent element is rendered, you may occasionally run into unexplained bugs with percentage-based columns. If you need more predictable results, you may choose to change to pixel sized columns.

    That's one of the problems with liquid (%) based layouts. In your default.css file, replace the top 2o selector rules with the following:
    body {
        font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
        font-size: 12px;
        color: #333;
        margin:0;
        padding:0;
        background: url(images/main-right.png) repeat-y;
    .thrColLiqHdr #container {
        width: 95%;
       min-width: 870px; /**keep page from collapsing**/
        margin:0 auto;
        background: url(/images/halftone1.png);
