EBS datasource in WebLogic cluster using the EBS dbc file

Hi All
Please let me know if someone has successfully created EBS datasource in WebLogic cluster using the EBS dbc file.
I have successfully created the datasource with one managed server but I am getting 'OAuth Mashaling Failure' error while adding the second managed server to this datasource.

Web Proxying to a WebLogic Cluster using the HTTPS protocol

I am recently involved into JWS proxying to WebLogic Cluster.
I don't have any technical problems at the moment but "conceptual" problems, that is:
- my jws proxy server should connect to a WebLogic Cluster through a Bea plugin configured wish SSL parameters;
- my jws proxy server should pass the incoming request using a load-balancing algorithm among the two nodes of the cluster, that are actually installed on two different machines;
- the jws proxy server doesn't seem to accept multiple certificates.
My question is: how can I configure my proxy plugin to route the incoming requests to my WebLogic Cluster using the https protocol? As a matter of fact, each certificate should be hostname dependent, and it looks like that the proxy plugin doesn't accept a multiple certificate configuration (and it should actually match the CN entry in the certificates with the actual hostnames of the nodes).
Any hint?

Integrating EBS 12.1.1 with P6R8 using the EBS PIP 2.5

We are trying to implement P6R8 (fresh install), an integrating with EBS (12.1.1 production system) through the EBS PIP. We have been told by our sales rep & developer (PIP) that Oracle cannot provide a backport of Patch 10281857:R12.PJF.B - R12.1
Long story short, Oracle DEV is pushing upgrading to 12.1.3 as the ONLY way to integrate P6R8 using the EBS PIP.
Anyone faced a similar issue integrating EBS 12.1.1 and P6R8 using the PIP, and if so what steps did you take to resolve this without upgrading to 12.1.3?
***Can we pull out the PA only patches from 12.1.3 - without doing a 12.1.1. -> 12.1.3 upgrade - and applying only those PA patches to get it working with the PIP

I think you are referring to EBS P6 PIP 3.1. It works with EBS 12.1.2 and 12.1.3. Even if you manage to make that work with EBS 12.1.1 you may not get the required support from Oracle as you are not on the tested configuration. You may confirm this with oracle by logging an SR.
So it may not be a good idea to go with EBS 12.1.1

Using The Same Audio Files On Multiple Platforms

When I import new audio into logic - often it will say that is creating wave forms for the display.
Q: I notice that the audio files on disk do not show an altered modified date - so where are these wave form displays being saved - on the audio file or inside the logic song?
Q: I am interested in possibly going back and forth between logic and Pro tools LE - and at different times using the same audio files for both platforms. Assuming I am not doing any destructive editing - is it OK to use the same set of files for both platforms - or do I need to make duplicates (I'd rather not)? Also, how does this wave form display get dealt with by going back and forth between the two platforms?

temporary files - *.ovm files or something, but my
memory is fuzzy on that for now. The original audio
files are not modified in any way.
Hmmm... I've wondererd about this, too, and as best I can tell, Logic DOES modify the original files.
I just imported some stereo interleaved AIF files into a project (with "copy external audio files to project folder" disabled), and I couldn't see any evidence of waveform creation--a disk search by date revealed nothing looking like waveform overviews, and there were no modifications to the AIF file dates.
So... the next time I imported some AIF files, I checked the file sizes before the import...
Sure enough, the files got bigger by about 100K after being imported into a Logic session, even though the file's timestamps were not changed.
Looks like maybe Logic does write the waveforms into the files themselves ?
On a related note, the manual suggests that it's possible to change the "copy external audio files to project folder" setting after creating a project, but I haven't found this anywhere other than File->New... anyone know ?

Is there any way to use the iTunes .itl file or .xml file to see what files I had previously to re-download songs?

I recently had to restore my computer and in the process of backing up my music library, half of my library from the letter 'm' onward was deleted.
I want to see if I could use the existing .itl file or .xml file that was automatically saved by iTunes in the iTunes folder previously (which I backed-up in my external drive) to view my past library.
I tried importing the library by going to File > Library > Import Playlist, but I got an error that said:
"Some of the songs in the "iTunes Music Library.xml" were not imported because they could not be found.
The .itl file was no help either in this case.
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO?

How did you try to make use of the .itl file? Double-clicking on .itl files doesn't switch libraries but opens whatever is currently the default library. To switch between library files either press and hold down shift as you launch iTunes until prompted to choose or create a library, or swap out one library file with another as described in Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.
There is also a link there to tips on recovering media from your device or account history. You may also be able to undelete media from the drive if the space it occupied has not yet been reused.

In the DTP select the file location as application server and give the logical file path. The actual file and logical path can be created using transaction "FILE" and "AL11".
Rest of the process is same as that of extraction from local file.

Using the cgicmd.dat file

In using the 9i report (pdf) format as a portlet
for portal we are required to supply the OID resource
under the ssoconn parameter . Since the numbers of users
are high and there seems to be no way other assigning programatically the resources ..
am wondering if i could use the cgicmd.dat file
i have seen examples for thing for jsp's but i dint see one for the rdf( pdf) formats run via rwservlet..
any pointer examplese would greatly help..

Take a look at the cgicmd.dat file that comes with the iAS installation

This file has examples for rwservlet as well as for jsp's. To quote from this file:

If you need to run Appleworks 6 to export some data (for example a database, which cannot be opened by any other program):
a) If your Mac will still boot into Snow Leopard, partition your hard drive (or add an external hard drive) and install Snow Leopard (and the optional Rosetta) into it and use the "dual-boot" method to boot into Snow Leopard and run Appleworks 6; or
b) Install Snow Leopard Server into Parallels and run Appleworks 6 concurrently with Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks:

How to use the EBS PL/SQL API from outside PL/SQL

Hi,
our attempts to call the stored procedures/functions of the EBS PL/SQL API via JDBC revealed the following issues:
1. Logical values cannot be exchanged through boolean parameters as the OCI has no notion of this type. Instead we need to write PL/SQL wrappers converting boolean to integer and vice versa. Is that true or are we missing something?
2. Complex values cannot be exchanged through record types as only PL/SQL code has a notion of this type. Instead we need to write PL/SQL wrappers converting record values to object type values. Is that true or are we missing something?
3. Types must be defined outside of packages, i.e. in the schema, for whatever reason. Instead we need to write PL/SQL wrappers converting values of types defined in packages to values of types defined in the schema. Is that true or are we missing something?
4. It is possible to let functions return tables so the results can be queried using SELECT * FROM TABLE. Such functions are called "table functions". Is there something similar for the other direction, i.e. is it possible to call a stored procedure and pass in a table value through an sql INSERT statement?
5. Do we really have to write all those wrapper routines on our own or is there a PL/SQL library providing such? If not, is there some kind of code generation facility that can generate such wrappers?

Cloned datasource, but unable to use the both at the same time

I used the AVTransmit java application as sampe to build my applet for transmitting realtime image from the webcam. I desired that it has a container to contain the player and it has a button for RTP transmission.
I have used the Manager.createCloneableDataSource(ds) to clone the datasource from webcam.
The applet can display realtime image on the container. While I clicked the button, the container hanged up and then changed to black. But the data can transmit by RTP part. I can receive the transmitted image in another PC.
Do you have any idea ?

I have tried to use the clone datasoure for player and original datasource for RTP transmission, the player displayed black and the RTP successfully, as I can get the live image by another PC. I have tried to use the clone datasoure for RTP and original datasource for player, the player worked normal and the another PC awared the participant joined. It has just waiting the data from RTP.
I sured the datasource has been cloned as I can System.out.println it, it is not a null.
Any idea. Thank you very much.

How can I display and use the full RAW file?

Hi,
my camera (Canon S95) has a sensor with 4:3 aspect ratio and thus saves all RAW files in this format. Additionally, the camera can automatically create JPGs with a cropped ratio (e.g. 3:2 or 16:9). This is very helpful because you can see the target format already on the camera screen (with black bars on top and bottom), which helps the composition. However, when processing the photos on the big screen afterwards, it often also helps the photo to adjust the ratio a little bit and therefore use the additional information saved in the bigger 4:3 RAW file. This works very well with many of the freely available software tools.
The problem found in Lightroom is now that it only shows the RAW photo in the cropped format and up to know I have found no way to display or use the full RAW format. So my question is: Which settings do I have to change to use the full format? What do I need to change?
Searching a little bit on the web I found many other photographes having the exactly same problem with many different cameras. However none of them reported to have a solution for this. Still I am pretty sure that there must be a solution, since otherwise this would be a really heavy bug within Lightroom and I cannot imagine that Adobe would leave this matter unsolved.
So I would really appreciate if someone could help me with this.

Thanks for clearification. Do you have additional information about when this fix will be available and whether at least some popular old cameras will be supported?
What I do not get is why Adobe would need to redo all existing cameras. I think this is a more general issue, where Lightroom misinterpretes the exif data which includes both the exif image height/width as well as the cropped image height/width. Intepreting this information correctly, any software should be able to display both - the full image and the cropped area (as shown by many cheap or free software tools). In the internet I found another workaround for the issue in Lightroom, which is undermining this point: When setting the cropped image height/width to the numbers of exif image height/width manually (e.g. with exif tools), Lightroom actually is able to display the full 4:3 picture.
So this bug should be easily fixed for all cameras and I have no clue why Adobe still has no fixed it with Lightroom already available in version 4.2.

Multiple Projects Using the Same Video Files

I have just completed a video that has upwards of 500 clips of source video in a single Bin. Now, I want to create two new videos using some of the previously used video footage in addition to video from other projects completed a couple of years ago. A few questions:
For new Video #2 (using some of the video from the exisiting Bin)
1. Can I just create a new Sequence and use some of the previosly used video clips? Will this affect the exisiting movie (ie take the clips offline?)
For new Video #3 (using some of the video from the exisiting Bin and video footage from other previosly completed videos)
2. Do I copy and paste the video file into a new project? Will this affect any of the previously completed movies by taking clips offline, etc?
Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1. Yes. Creating a new Sequence is the proper way to do it. It will not affect the existing movie. It will not affect the underlying clips and will not take the clips offline.
2. Import the previously completed video(s) into your current project. Create a new sequence. Build your new video using the clips from your existing bin plus the clips you import. It will not affect the existing movie or the existing clips. It will not take the clips offline.
FCE is a nondestructive editor. That means that basically nothing you do while editing a sequence affects the underlying files on your hard drive. All the edits & effects, etc. are contained in the FCE project file.
