EBS - UCM Integration on HTML Based Pages

Hi All,
I already integrate EBS 12i with UCM 10g using the Managed Attachment Solution. The Zoom button work fine and it connect to UCM nicely. But zoom button only appear on Form Based pages. Is there any solution if i want to attach document from UCM in the EBS HTML based pages?

Finally i could integrate EBS 12i with UCM 10g on web based pages. Just follow this document "Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite (11i, R12, and R12.1) with Content Management Repositories [ID 1061947.1]" and dont forget to instal patch 9071475:R12.DOM.A for EBS 12 and patch 9071475:R12.DOM.B for EBS 12.1

Start XML Publisher from a html based page.

Hi.
We have users that only have access to the html based pages in EBS.
I wonder if I somehow can make it possible for them to start a xml publisher report request with parameters, from those html based pages.
In the form based pages this is not a problem, just add the concurrent program to a request group. But there must be someway to do this from the html based pages as well.
Is there a Role that can be assigned or something?

OAF-UCM integration - Issue in deploying RIDC.jar to EBS server

Hi ,
We are doing OAF-UCM integration with followng business scenario and need your help urgently.
Business Scenario :
We have custom OAF pages with OA train and and in one train link we have added 'managed attachment' button to open UCM page to add documents to DM server .
We are successfully able to do integration of OAF to UCM , that is we are able to open UCM page on clicking Managed attachment button.Business agreed that OAF and UCM are two different applications so after transaction is completed in UCM, at OAF we have refresh button which user has to clicked explicitly to pull document metadata ( lilke PDF URL etc) to OAF pages.
This is data needs to stored in EBS tables as well , to achive the same we are using RIDC mechanism to PULL the data stored corresponding on 1 unique metadata.
I m successfully able to integrate the PULL( Sychnonizaton) of data on click on refersh button of OAF page. RIDC ( UCM version 11g) is correctly configured in Jdev10g and working fine on local oc4j server,
Problem :
When this RIDC is jar is deployed in EBS server I m getting following error -
Request URI:/OA_HTML/OA.jsp
Exception:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/stellent/ridc/IdcClientException
We have added RIDC jar(actual physical path is =/APPS/XXXXXXX/common/java/) file name in jserv.properties and also added in CLASS PATH

Appreciate if some can provide pointers how to deploy this external jar file (RIDC.jar) and avoid this error.

Ok, Figured out the issue,
Values in the OAF_AXF_CMD_PARAMS table was not matching with the actual attributes on the OAF pages. The four values
Entity Name, Primary Key, View Object and Attributes are to be entered for each page where we are intending to have the MA button.

Integrating the PHP Based Forum Component in CQ5 Pages.

We have the requirement to integrate the Php based forum product (VBulletin) in our CQ5 pages. Have anyone already integrated the Php based prodcuts with CQ5? Especially i would like to know the feasibilty on the following point.
A. Do we need to implement the Wrapper Service to interact with Php based products / APIs?

There of course multiple ways to attempt to integrate with a service like this, the approriate approach will vary based on your requirements.
The first question I would ask is what functionality are you trying to integrate into you CQ5 pages. Are you just trying list summaries of posts - say the 3 most recent posts on topic X, or are you attempting to display the complete forum functionality in a CQ 5 page.
If you doing a light weight integration - for example displaying the most recent posts then I would explore the possiblity of a client side integration using AJAX to pull the data from your PHP system in JSON or XML format. This avoids any caching related issues and keeps the integration loosely coupled. There are of course variations on these methods that use CQ as a proxy to the PHP application, but then you end up having to write a OSGI wrapper service that talks to your PHP app over web services.
If your integration is more complicated and you are looking to enable all the forum functionality. If your PHP app is visually the same as you CQ5 site you can make use of a iframe to include it in a CQ page. This obviously have potential issue (security, layout issues if sizes or CSS aren't consistent). CQ5 includes a foundation component to help with this - the External component which leverages an iframe.
If an iframe or client side approach won't work then you would need to look at creating a set of OSGI wrapper services that communicate with your PHP application via web services. This obvious would be a singificant development effort, and depending on the capabilities of you PHP application may be difficult to implement. In particular user management and security integrations be complex (you can avoid these sorts of issues with a client side or iframe approach, especially if you can sub-domain the PHP app, or use the same apache server to host both dispatcher and you PHP app).

BPM 11.1.1.5.0 Features Pack: UCM integration issue

I have installed BPM SP4 FP successfully on Windows. But I have a problem with UCM integration.
In Jdev, I configured the Human Task use UCM to store the documents. But after deploying on WLS, in BPM workspace, I cannot use attachment functionality. It show error message:
"Document Store not available. Please configure the document store."
Maybe need to configure Document Store of UCM in somewhere. But I don't know how to do it.
Anyone can help?

Also,
Check your $DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig/system-jazn-data.xml. Search for WF-ADMIN-USER.
Check the jar name at the begining of grant elem. It has a typo in the path. It should oralce.soa.workflow
instead of oralce.bpm.workflow. Make this change and restart the server. This bug was fixed just before
GA release.

Fusion OTL and EBS Payroll - Integration

Hi
I have a client who currently has EBS for OTL and Payroll, and is thinking about moving OTL to the cloud (along with other HR modules). They are unable to move Payroll to cloud at the moment because Australian legislation is not yet available in Fusion Payroll. My questions are around integration:
1) Is there currently in built integration that brings in Time entered by employees from Fusion to EBS Payroll for payment? Does it work similarly to the EBS process 'Transfer Time From OTL to BEE Batch' in that it will create Batch element entries in Payroll?
2) I am assuming I will need to setup Alternate names and link them to Payroll elements in Fusion Time and Labor, is there a process that gets the available elements from EBS payroll to Fusion?

HTML Server Pages - an alternative to JSP

Your comments would be appreciated on an alternative approach for
developing web applications using HTML Server Pages (HSP).
Rather than convert the Server Pages to Java code, the approach
is to create the Server Page as an XHTML document and
process it as XML.
The id attribute is used to link the HTML tags to the servlet
code. For example:
 
The servlet code uses a Framework based on the MVC design pattern. A
value is displayed by creating a Text Model object and associating
it with the id attribute.
The advantage of this approach is that the Server Page can be
validated against the XHTML DTD and there is a clear separation of the
HTML and Java code.

Also every page redirect, link goes through a kind of a commandservlet that processes the page?The HSP Framework follows the same approach as that used by the JSP Model 2 architecture. The entry point is a Java Servlet.
You can store and process JSP's as XML, too.The advantage of using XHTML is that a web designer can edit the pages using an XHTML aware editor such as Adobe GoLive and Preview them.
 
What exactly does this do?The id attribute is used to connect the tag with the dynamic content that is generated by the application. When displaying the page the Framework will get the Text Model that the application has created and insert the contents into the Text Element part of the tag. If the Model contained "Hello World" the HTML sent to the Web Browser would be

How do you do loops?The HSP Framework supports a Table Model for the display of tables. The row HTML is duplicated for each row in the table.
I think it is a bad idea to use the id since this is normally meant to uniquely identify instances in an XML document. If you want to adhere to this rule you could easily insert the same contents twice in a single page.A number can be included in the id attribute to make it unique within the document. e.g. greeting-1, greeting-2.
Rather than duplicate the same content twice the common HTML can be placed in a single file and included in other pages as required. The <object> tag is used for this purpose.
How then does the data get into the XHTML element?The data is inserted by the Framework.
But you have to bind them together in some place.The id attribute is used to bind the XHTML tags to Model objects.
Plus: fixing the format to XHTML prevents such things as inclusion of other files. This OTOH would impove the options for a modular design.The XHTML <object> tag is used to include one file (View) within another. With the Brill Software web site the Menu bar and Footer are held in separate files and included into each page.

I would not buy such a framework since there are good and mature frameworks out there - for free.The cost of a framework needs to be considered in relation to the overall cost of a project. If a framework saves you time and effort it may be worth paying for. It depends on what value you place on your time and the time saved by using a particular framework.

Is it mandatory to run wcConfigure script for UCM integration????

Hi,
I'm looking to integrate an already running instance of UCM 10.1.3.5.1 version with webcenter. I have tried the integration steps by following the documentation and was able to do it. But wcConfigure script is making lots of configuration changes in our UCM instance which are not acceptable.
Is it necessary to run the wcConfigure sript for UCM integration?
Is there any other option to integrate UCM without running this script?

Hey Varun,
Each Contribution Folder in UCM has a set of metadata associated with it. You can change this metadata in the UCM interface by going to the particular folder and selecting Information (or Folder Information) from the actions drop down. This will display the metadata associated with that folder including security group and account. Select Update from the actions drop down on that page to change this info.
Whenever an item (folder or content) is created under another folder it will automatically inherit the default metadata set for that folder. There is also an option to propagate the changes you make to the metadata to content directly underneath a particular folder. That option is also in the actions dropdown on the folder information screen.
The other thing to check is that the user who is logged into Webcenter has privileges in UCM to the security group and account that you define for the folders and content. By default UCM is not going to be hooked up to the embedded WLS LDAP so you would need to create the user locally in UCM via the User Admin applet or (preferably) integrate UCM with the WLS LDAP. Third Party Integration for Template Based Hire in PS 9.1

Hi All,
I am implementing template based hire on PS 9.1.
I am receiving the applicant details from a third party vendor in a xml message.
Requirement is to insert the applicant details into template based hire records (HR_TBH_HDR and HR_TBH_DATA).
I am able to subscribe the field values from xml message. But facing the problem while inserting the values into base records.
I am trying to use Component Interface on HR_TBH_JOB component. The pages on this component are dynamically build and so the records.
If anyone has worked on the third party integration for Template Based Hire in PS 9.1, please let me know your suggestion for insertion into template based hire records.

I am not getting any error message as I haven't completed the coding yet.
I will go more on the technical stuff so that the issue will be more clear.
I am using the Integration Broker setup to receive the xml message from third party.
I have written the app package and added that as handler into the service operation. as of now I am able to subscribe the xml message. I am having the field values into the variables.
For insertion of those values into template based hire (TBH) records (HR_THB_HDR and HR_TBH_DATA) I created a new CI on HR_TBH_JOB component.
But when I analysed this component I came to know that Pages, Sections on the Pages and the fields of the sections are dynamically build based on the Template.
On HR_TBH_DATA page PeopleSoft is using derived record (HR_TBH_SCR_WRK). Field values are assigned to this record fields bsaed on the section of the template.
Here is issue I am facing while coding. As there is only one record (HR_TBH_SCR_WRK) to store the all the values from the template, I am not able to understand that how to assign the variables to CI variable. I am looking for the logic, so that the CI will work normally.
If you have any sugestion to insert the data into TBH records other than using CI, will be appriciated.

Problem inserting FLV into template based page DW8

Error when inserting an FLV into a template based page.
The error is: "Making this change would require changing code
that is locked by a template or translator. The change will be
discarded."
I thought perhaps something was wrong with my code so I
created a new page in DW8, with one word of text. Saved the new
page as a template with the one word of text made into an editable
region. Created a page based on that template and attempted to
insert a FLV file into the editable region (using Insert > Media
> Flash Video). I still get the error message. I've attached the
code for this page.
I also get the error message when I go through the tutorial
Presenting
Video with the Flash Video Component in Dreamweaver 8. Using
the files provided in the tutorial.
Is the only workaround for this the one I found here?:

Does external links work when html based course embeded in adobe air

Hi,
i have an html based WBT, developed using Lectora.
Now my clients wants its desktop version.
I am using Adobe air to do it. My html course has some external links which opens in external popup windows and captivate swf files.
If i wrap my html course into desktop application using adobe air, will my external links work?
And swf files running in html pages will work fine?

Currently Adobe AIR does not support custom CSS cursors and only some of the "default" cursors available in CSS.
You could however use the following ActionScript workaround if you don't need a very complex behavior:
* on mouseOver have the default cursor hidden
* on mouseMove have a custom cursor drawn and positioned via ActionScript
* on mouseOut have the custom cursor hidden and the default cursor shown.
I have attached a sample that should make things clearer. Feel free to ask if there's anything not clear.

HTML based reports on Websphere

Can some one please tell me what I require to do the following.
I want to be able to produce HTML based reports via Reports 6i on WebSphere V4.
It it possible for me to do this, i.e. will I still getthe parameter pages etc.Do I need to uase the Oracle App server?

This should be possible.
With 6i we don't have particularly close ties to the web server that we use. You'd need to configure the rwcgi60 executable to be called from Websphere, and then you should be fine to run. You should take a look in the 6i publishing reports manual (http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/reports/pdf/A73173_01.pdf) - specifically chapter 3.
Be warned, however. With 9i, Reports has a much tighter dependancy on the other components in the iAS stack, so it will be more difficult there.
