Eclipse 3.1.2 Bundle JBoss-IDE1.6 - ECLIPSE_HOME issue

Eclipse 3.1.2 Bundle JBoss-IDE1.6 - Java Build Path issue
When added ECLIPSE_HOME to JAVA BUILD PATH "Libraries", I got following message:
Required library cannot denote external folder: 'E:\Friends\eclipse' for project mobilefish_demo
Is it really need to add it?
Thanks!

I am a beginner for Eclipse 3.1.2 Bundle JBoss-IDE1.6 to develop web application.I followed an example-"mobilefish_demo", but they use Eclipse 2.1.1 +jboss-3.0.4 platform,so I don't know how to configure Java Build Path -libraries.I saw they added variable ECLIPSE-HOME.I did too. but my project give me an error message: Required library cannot denote external folder: 'E:\Friends\eclipse' for project mobilefish_demo

I set test/WEB-INF/classes as project output folder , why I can not find
"WEB-INF/classes" in Eclipse "Package Explorer'. is it normal or issue?
    Thanks ahead!

You don't need to know about the /classes folder. The classes from the Javasource will be compiled automatically into this folder.
If you really want to see it, use the Navigator view instead, or setup it in the filters of the Package Explorer.

  • Eclipse 3.1.2 Bundle JBoss-IDE1.6 - DEBUG web application

Can someone tell me the steps to debug the web application in ECLIPSE?
Is only can do after setup the package and deployment configuration or not?
    Thanks!

You need to start the server in debug mode (rightclick at server, choose Debug instead of Start) and add breakpoints to the code. You can add breakpoints to the code by doubleclicking on the gray bar area at the left side from the code line. You'll get a blue dot there. When the JVM is about to process this line, then it will stop there until you take actions in the debug perspective (step into, step over, step return, next breakpoint).

  • MSI Eclipse with 12gb ram only posting 8gb (and other issues)

I have several  issues with  my eclipse motherboard, the first problem has to do with RAM Dimm slot's AO, A1.
    PROBLEM 1
A little back story on the situation, earlier today i adjusted my green power genie to max power cooling - it down clocked the voltage for the ram and cpu. after i installed some security updates for windows 7 i powered off the PC. I turned my computer back on 30 minutes later, i noticed a weird bios error message "previous overclock has failed, please reset your setting to default". I then reset the CMOS on the motherboard to undo the previous settings. I booted the PC up for a second time, then noticed the post screen with my system specs, had my ram at 8GB when i had 12GB installed. I then went into the bios(1.b)and pressed F5 to view my Ram total. It showed four slots posting 2gb per dimm except A0, A1.
I went through the normal troubleshooting (removing the cards and HDD's, reseating ram in different dimm slots.. etc)
I remove all ram except one 2gb stick. i reinstalled  the 2gb stick in the black dimm a0 slot and booted the system. it will power on, stays on for a minute and half then power cycle(reboot over and over). i then tired 1GB stick in the A0 slot, same problem. The system with boot in the other two black slots (B0, C0). the same problem is with the blue A1 slot as well.
Could it be a bad board that i have? or is there something i'm missing.
    PROBLEM 2
I have four cards that i want to use on my system, Two HD5770's in crossfire, my sound blaster XFI Fatl1ty Champion in the first (PCI-E x1 slot) and my TV tuner in the first PCI x8 slot. the problem is getting them all to work at the same time. if i install all of them together the system will not get past the black windows screen(it freezes). if i use a combination of the three, the system will boot up with no problem.
Anybody in the forums with an eclipse able to use four cards and crossfire at the same time?
Could i have a bad motherboard?
What is RMA? is it a replacement or repair?
    I NEED HELP!!!!

Have you tested each of them individually? What are you setting the RAM speed & timings at? Unless your running Photoshop or similar heavy apps., 12G RAM is a negative IMHO.
nothing really heavy, but i do multi-task and have a lot of apps/ games/ benchmarking going on at once.  firefox uses a lot of ram on its own. i have around five sets of 3 (2 sets 6gb and 3 sets of 3gb) and none of them work in the a1, a0 dimm slots. the memory controller probably burned out. i dont see how that can happen as i dont overclock regularly.

Other thoughts. What is the current bios version?
    - i updated to 1.11(1.b)
    Quote
Does the board support 1.5G TB HDD's?
Yes - i believe so, the bio's recognize all 4.5tb

More voltage is needed more than likely to the CPU, QPI, RAM, IOH, & ICH or a combination thereof rather than using a utility that is trying to reduce it. You have a lot of stuff to power up.
it only down clocked the cpu to core 0.00v/qpi 0.00v, PPL voltage  1.6v and memory to 1.65v , IOH to 1.02, ICH 1.35v
    Quote
If this is a brand spanky new build, it may be best to establish a stable system in a bare bones configuration, & then add components making any note of any areas that may need a power boost or settings adjustment. To sum it up, CPU has developed a problem, RAM is faulty, board DIMM slots have become faulty, bent socket pins, voltage distribution is faulty or needs tweaking.
i have done most of your suggestions, but all of my test is pointing to a faulty motherboard. i mean the board has 7 pci slots of which 3 work when in crossfire. the x-fi sound card that came with the board came doa, so i should have been more cautious from the beginning and returned it to newegg then. now i am going to have to RMA the board and be without it for close to a month.  its frustrating

    Why aren't you using JBoss 4.3 ?
There are a variety of challenges with the XML parsing and Web service jarfiles in JBoss 4.x. I believe most have been fixed in 4.3 CP10 with Java 6

Atlast it worked. The problem was that in my ejb-jar.xml I was referring to 2_0.dtd. I have changed that to 2.1 and it worked.
    Older ejb-jar.xml had:
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" "C:/jboss-4.0.1sp1/docs/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">
    I changed that to:
    <ejb-jar xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" version="2.1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/ejb-jar_2_1.xsd">
    And it worked.

  • [Eclipse&JBoss] JBoss doesn't start

    Hi there.
I encountered a problem in starting JBoss with Eclipse. The strange thing is that I have the same configuration on my laptop and it works. On this second computer it doesn't work and I can't understand why.
    Here my configuration:
    - Eclipse Galileo
    - JDK 1.6
    - JBoss 5.0.0 for jdk6
I inserted JBoss as a server in Eclipse and then I launched my Enterprise Application in there. The server starts correctly, in more or less 20 seconds. Then I find in the console something like:
    +22:32:07,937 INFO [ServerImpl] JBoss (Microcontainer) [5.0.0.GA (build: SVNTag=JBoss_5_0_0_GA date=200812042120)] Started in 23s:111ms+
It could make me think that JBoss actually started, because there aren't errors. But Eclipse doesn't recognise it, and the bar in the right corner says "Starting JBoss..." since it goes in timeout.
I found a post in this forum that says to change the timeout, or to replace JBoss with a new copy, or to do the same thing with Eclipse. I have done all these things, pushing the timeout to 1000 seconds, deleting the JBoss folder and replacing it, and deleting the Eclipse folder (but not the workspace). Still getting the same error. And I can't understand why.
It's weird because I would expect to find an error in the console, but it's error free...
Could anyone help me? I would be very very grateful!!
    Thank you for your attention.

you may want to install jboss-tools.
Among a pile of other helper plugins, it has JbossAS tools. Using the server runtime setup from JBoss Tools, I've never had any problems with any version of JBoss.
btw: Jboss 5.0 was fairly broken; I would consider upgrading to JBoss 5.1-jdk6 which is far more stable.

Problems like this don't cease to amaze me.
We are in the year of 2009 and this problem is most probably caused because jboss is started from a path which contains one or more space.
Try move your jboss installation or eclipse installation (i am not familiar how jboss in installed inside eclipse) to a folder with no spaces and the problem should go away.
It is sad that nice software like jboss has stupid bugs like this. Oh and it migh not be jboss but the JVM. It is silly in any case...

  • FB3 plug-in install into Eclipse 3.3 does not install editors

I just decided to upgrade to Eclipse 3.2 as it has been
suggested in the forums that could improve stability on Windows
    Vista.
I installed Eclipse 3.3, then ran the FB3 Beta1 install to
install into the new eclipse installation. Install completed
successfully but after opening eclipse I got errors when it
attempted to load the editor for open source files. It basically
    said that com.adobe.flexbuilder.editors.derived.something could not
be loaded or something like that.
I thought maybe it was because I had not unistalled the FB3
plug-in first so I uninstalled it, unzipped a fresh copy of eclipse
3.3 and then installed the FB3 plug-in again. Same problem.
On inspecting the plugins folder of my eclipse installation,
    I noticed that the
    com.adobe.flexbuilder.editors.derived_3.0_172437.jar file was not
unpaced, as the other editors (mxml, actionscript, etc) were. So I
    unzipped the JAR to
    com.adobe.flexbuilder.editors.derived_3.0_172437 and started
Eclipse and this seems to have fixed the problem.

On further investigation this does not seem to be an
installation problem but rather an Eclipse permission issue. The
JAR file is installed and I believe the expected behavior is that
Eclipse automatically unpacks ("activates") it when it is first
required. I noticed permission denied errors in the Eclipse log
relating to bundle activation failure. I saw the same problem for
    the Java editor (org.eclipse.jdt.ui).
I'm not sure why Eclipse is unable to activate the bundles
however. As far as I can tell everything in the workspace and
eclipse folders is owned by me and I have run a "takeown /f /r" on
both to make sure but it still fails. I vaguely remember the same
problems when I originally installed Eclipse 3.2 on Vista.
Some of the Eclipse folders did not have u+w permission
however but even though those folders (and their parents) were
owned by me I could not chmod them unless the command shell was
"Run as Administrator", which is odd.
Anyway, after taking care of the permissions on those folders
all now appears to be well.

  • Sun RI and MyFaces with JBoss AS

    Hi all,
I am using JBoss AS and have a JSF application. By default, JBoss bundle MyFaces JSF with Jboss. I have everything working fine with MyFaces. However, I encounter problem when I tried to display the banding for dataTable using Oracle ADF. From my research, it seems ADF table's banding does not work with MyFaces so I want to test out using Sun RI JSF with Jboss. I remove MyFaces jar files and put Sun RI jar file in WEB_INF/lib directory and remove the line in web.xml
    <listener>
    <listener-class>org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener</listener-class>
    </listener>
This is done following Jboss documentation. But when Tomcat starts up, it seems still look for org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener class and throw ClassNotFoundException (because I removed myfaces jars). Has anyone benn able switched to use Sun RI in JBoss AS version 4.0.5?
    Thanks a lot,
    LNgo

    Hello Raymond,
I must say that I downloaded the JBoss Portal Binary and not the bundle JBoss AS + JBoss Portal, because I already had a JBoss AS working, so it was the best way to do it (as it is said in the JBossPortalReferenceGuide). I have both things (server and portal) in the same directory, but I don't know if maybe one of them should contain the other (I have seen that in the bundle, the portal directory contains the JBoss application server) When I downloaded the JBoss Portal and tried to deploy it by directing my web browser to http://localhost:8080/portal it did not work, so I decided to copy the jboss-portal.sar directory from the JBoss Portal to the deploy of my server. Maybe this was a mistake.
But anyway I have seen that JBoss Portal 2.6 comes with the myfaces jars, and as JBoss AS 4.2 uses Sun RI by default, it is going to collapse anyway. Should I just remove these jars from the portal? As I told you before, I tried doing it and I got two errors of not found classes.
Please, any help would be really appreciated, I am losing a lot of time with this bug, because the server keeps getting out of memory due to it.

Since Eclipse-Update from Version 3.7.1 to 3.7.2 the version from "org.eclipse.wst.server.ui"-bundle has increased to 1.3.0.xxx.
By the way this is a update of a major-release-version with incompatible changes in a minor-release of Eclipse.
The newest version of Oracle Enterprise Pack needs [1.1.305, 1.2.0).
Is there any solution for this problem ?
    Thank you for your help.
    Best regards
    Sascha Vujevic

this seems to happen each and every time, which is kind ironic, considering the fact the whole point of simultaneous releases is to be .. you know simultaneous , now granted oepe is not part of the release train but considering the size of the project that do get released with it.. , one kind wonders...

  • Eclipse RCP Migration 3x to 4x

    1. imported source code in Luna and resolve all compilation error.
    2. updated plug in in plugin.xml
able to make build but when started the application getting below error:

hello, did you fix this problem already?

  • Diagnosing Eclipse crashes

Ever since my last system update eclipse crashes for no apparent reason.
I have determined that it is not due to lack of memory, because the heap status in eclipse always shows that memory is available when eclipse crashes.
I have Eclipse 4.3.2 installed via pacman. And jdk7-openjdk, jre7-openjdk and jre7-openjdk-headless also installed via pacman. (This setup was working perfectly until a few days ago)

Can anyone help me debug this problem? I have no idea what to do next since the logs aren't outputing anything I can work with.
I've also tried to download a zip of eclipse from the official site and then run that eclipse executable but I got the same results.

When Eclipse crashes frequently, I often find that a recent webkitgtk update is to blame.
Try switching to the mozilla swt browser backend.  It solved the problem for me.
To do that, add the following system property to the "-vmargs" argument within your /usr/share/eclipse/eclipse.ini:
    -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=mozilla
