Eclipse plug-in for BPEL development

Hi
I have downloaded an Eclipse plug-in for Oracle BPEL process manager around 2 years ago. I don't see the plug-in on the downloads page anymore so I was wondering whether this plug-in is still supported/enhanced. We are solely using Eclipse in our organization and JDeveloper is not an option- so does anyone know of any other plug-ins for BPEL development for Eclipse?
Thanks.

There hasn't been a new Eclipse plug-in for BPEL in long time. The old ones available are out of sync of the new functionality and are supported on only the older versions of Eclipse. You can google for exact details.
But my advise is that if you are using the Oracle BPEL PM, then use Jdeveloper.

Firefox 3.03 - why such an old version? 3.6.12 is the most recent release.
It is up to Microsoft to fix Outlook Web Access to work with Firefox or to come up with a plugin for Firefox. If Mozilla was to start fixing or write plugins for all the software out there that is made to work with Internet Explorer and not any other browser, they wouldn't have time to work on Firefox.
There are two Firefox extensions that will open IE in a Firefox tab. Many users install one of these addons to get around problems like you are having with Outlook Web Access.

  • BPEL Eclipse Plug-IN for Linux

    Hi,
I have installed the eclipse plug-in on Windows but I want to have it installed on Linux How can I do it?
    Thanks
    JO

I've been hearing about the JDeveloper version of BPEL since April, but have yet to see it on the Oracle website. Since the answer to this thread's original post mentions it, can you tell us how we might obtain the JDeveloper version of BPEL? (And please don't direct us to http://www.oracle.com/appserver/bpel_home.html because the page that download link refers to doesn't have any JDeveloper BPEL versions.)
In my case, I'm interested in the BPEL plugin for JDeveloper running on a Mac, but a solution for Linux should work out for me as well.
    Thanks.

  • Which Eclipse plug-in for creating web services?

    Dear all,
I am looking for a simple, straight-forward eclipse plug-in to create web-services from existing java classes, based on Axis. I am looking to create and deploy the web service to Tomcat, create the WSDL file and create a client class that I can use in client applications. So far I have tried WTP, Lavadora and Lomboz. Neither of these have worked out for me (without going into the details here). Which other plug-ins would you recommend?
    Cheers,
    N.

The best Eclipse-based web service development environment I've used is IBM's WebSphere Application Developer (WSAD). Whether going from WSDL to Java or the reverse, you're up and running in next to no time.
But, assuming you don't have $8000 to spend, WTP is probably as good as it gets at the free end of the market, and it includes the same graphical WSDL editor you get in WSAD.
WTP, a couple of Ant scripts, and a little perseverance are all you really need for web service development.

  • Intellisense for BPEL development

    Hi guys,
Just wondering when Jdev will have intellisense(microsoft term) built into the BPEL development? eg.Java embedded activity, it's a nightmare, just like writing code in a notepad.
    Regards
    James

    Hi,
I'm unfamiliar with the BPEL design time, so can't comment on why it doesn't provide this functionality. You may want to post this over on the BPEL forum (BPEL JDeveloper provides core capabilities for intellisense (we call it "code insight" in JDeveloper), for example you can see it in the code editor.
    Thanks,

  • Netweaver Gateway Eclipse plug-in for Android

    Hi All,
Is there any Gateway support for Android available in forms of Eclipse plug-ins ?.
If no are there any plans to have this kind of support ?.
    cheers,
    Saurav

    Hi Saurav,
Currently our Eclipse plug-in does not support Android. However, we are looking into this opportunity for our future releases.
You can also use other OData SDKs for Android: Restlet or odata4j.
Restlet generates semantic (strongly typed) proxies. Can be downloaded here:
    http://www.restlet.org/downloads/
odata4j is a slimmer solution, mainly for parsing. Can be downloaded here:

  • Eclipse Plug In for SQL Server

I have searched the web, including the eclipse plug in site and it does not appear there is an eclipse plug in that will allow me to edit stored procedures on MS SQL Server. I found a plug in for Oracle. They are generally way ahead when it comes to compatability with Java but I was hoping perhaps someone out there might know of an equivalent product for MS SQL Server.
    Thanks

There's nothing to stop you from editing anything in
Eclipse, including T-SQL stored procs.True, you can edit them as a text file but if you have dbedit installed the T-SQL syntax shows up as an error. Also, you have to open a separate application to actually run the script. I can do everything else from within eclipse - I'd like to be able to do that also. I can run a script to make a table but not a stored procedure.
(Devil's advocate question.) What value does an IDE
bring to writing stored procs, anyway? What's that
Oracle plug-in doing for you that you can't do
without?See above. Its not so much that I couldn't do without it - I'm trying to make this as simple as possible for my resistant coworkers. If everything could be handled inside eclipse that would nullify a number of their arguments.

  • Eclipse plug-ins for ODSI

Are there ODSI plug-ins available that i can use on my eclipse environment instead of using workshop?

ODSI can be installed over an existing Eclipse, but it has to exactly match the Eclipse version 3.3.3 that comes with ODSI. The installer has an option to pick an external Eclipse.

  • Crystal Reports for Eclipse vs. Crystal Reports Developer

We are developing a Java web application for internal use.  Since we have some people at the company who are familiar with Crystal Reports, we'd like to have them write reports that we can display through our application.  Crystal Reports Server seems like overkill for this project, but the <a href="http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2/en/devsuite.htm#en/JRC_SDK/">JRC</a> sounded like a good fit.
I have been evaluating <a href="http://www.businessobjects.com/products/reporting/crystalreports/developer/default.asp">Crystal Reports Developer</a> and trying out the <a href="http://support.businessobjects.com/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/crxi_r2_jrc_web_samples.zip.asp">JRC samples</a>.  The samples don't use the tag library.  Instead, they show how to set session variables and redirect to a viewer JSP which contains a bunch of Java code to use the CrystalReportViewer.
The samples are so much more complex than the code created by Crystal Reports for Eclipse, which simply uses the tag library:
    <%@ taglib uri="/crystal-tags-reportviewer.tld" prefix="crviewer" %>
    <crviewer:viewer reportSourceType="reportingComponent" viewerName="myreport-viewer" reportSourceVar="myreport" isOwnPage="true">
    <crviewer:report reportName="myreport.rpt" />
    </crviewer:viewer>
I assume that I should be able to use the same tag library approach without using Crystal Reports for Eclipse, but I haven't seen any tutorials on it.  I'm trying to understand whether I should purchase Crystal Reports for Eclipse instead of Crystal Reports Developer.
This is the difference, as I understand it:
Crystal Reports Developer gives you the stand-alone Crystal Reports Designer and the right to run the JRC on an internal server.  It costs <a href="http://store.businessobjects.com/store/bobjects/DisplayProductDetailsPage/productID.40434600">$595</a>.
Crystal Reports for Eclipse Standard provides a free report designer built into Eclipse.  It also includes the JRC for use on an internal server.
Crystal Reports for Eclipse Professional provides "a more powerful runtime engine" with the right to run it on one internal server.  It costs <a href="http://store.businessobjects.com/store/bobjects/DisplayProductDetailsPage/productID.52068100">$495</a>.  Is this the same JRC provided with Crystal Reports Developer?
If the "powerful" JRC is the same as Crystal Reports Developer's JRC, could I install Crystal Reports for Eclipse Standard to take advantage of the Eclipse integration and the built-in designer, but use the more powerful JRC from Crystal Reports Developer, which would also give me the stand-alone designer?

<p>Hi there,</p><p>     If you are planning on deploying a JRC application then you should definitely be using Crystal Reports for Eclipse for your runtime engine. It is the latest version of the JRC and includes many updates not available in Crystal Reports Developer.</p><p>As for "power" the JRC included in CR Developer is on par with the JRC available in the Basic edition of Crystal Reports for Eclipse. The Professional edition of Crystal Reports for Eclipse provides the most powerful version of the JRC available.</p><p>With the release of Crystal Reports for Eclipse, Business Objects is setting the groundwork for separating Developer needs from the Report Author needs.</p><p>A professional report author will require a professional report design tool. For these users we are recommending that they purchase Crystal Reports Professional.</p><p>The developer, on the other hand, generally needs the SDKs and a toolkit to assist with building applications. We believe that these should be available at no cost to the developer, only charging when the application is deployed (in this case a CR4E Pro license). This is different from the current model with Crystal Reports Developer where we have combined a professional report designer plus the required runtime.</p><p>So, to summarize, definitely use Crystal Reports for Eclipse for your application runtime and have your report authors puchase Crystal Reports Professional. If you need a more powerful engine, access to technical support or plan to deploy on multiple servers then I would recommend purchasing the Crystal Reports for Eclipse Professional license for your development purposes.</p><p>As for some tutorials on creating viewer pages, the integration in Eclipse provides a very simple way of accomplishing this. I would suggest reading the section titled "<strong>Creating a New Viewer Page</strong>" in our Getting Started Guide found at the following URL:</p><p><a href="/node/320"><strong> http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/320</strong></a></p><p>Let me know if you have some follow-up questions. </p><p>Regards,<br />Sean Johnson (CR4E Product Manager) <br /><strong><br /><a href="http://www.eclipseplugincentral.com/Web_Links-index-req-ratelink-lid-639.html">Rate this plugin @ Eclipse Plugin Central</a></strong>           </p>

You can use either download... the exe includes an installer.

  • BPEL Designer plug-in for Eclipse download link broken

    Anyone know the correct location?

    Kenan,
I am afraid that the side-by-side versioning does not address the need of in-flight changes because there is not import feature for in-flight instances.
The side-by-side versioning is designed to let all existing in-flight instances to complete with the existing (unchanged) BPEL definition while new instances are routed to the newer version.
To deploy a new version of the BPEL project, us the -rev option if you are using the command line tool or the rev attribute is you are using the ant task.
Sorry for not being more helping. Dynamic changes is a feature we do not really support.
