Edit Mode & action.do

I am trying to set the edit URI for a portlet to an action in my pageflow. pageFlowDirectory/myAction.do
works when I enter it on the command line. However, when I specify it in the
edit URI it attempts to find the action in /Controller.jpf instead of my pageFlowDirectory/PageFlowDirectoryControler.jpf.
Is this:
a) bug?
b) incorrect URI for edit mode?
c) a stupid way to try and implement the edit mode?
thanks.

In playing around it appears that when you use the /pageFlowDirectory/myAction.do
URI the app server creates a new context. For example, when I use that URI in
the body of my portlet I leave the portal/portlet framework altogether.
Is the ONLY solution to using the edit mode with a jpf to use a PageFlowBacking
object?

  • Open file in edit mode

    I need to open a file in edit mode. In my web part on item click I need to do some action before hand (like create a folder and copy file, then open it in edit mode).
    I came across the code segment below to set to a hyperlink's onClick() event
    <a onfocus="OnLink(this)"    href="/Shared Documents/myDoc.docx"    onmousedown="return VerifyHref(this,event,'1','SharePoint.OpenDocuments','')"        onclick="return DispEx(this,event,'TRUE','FALSE','FALSE',            'SharePoint.OpenDocuments.3','1', 'SharePoint.OpenDocuments',            '','','','1','0','0','0x7fffffffffffffff')">Click</a>
    But in my case, it would be nice if I can open in C# code behind, after the folder operations in my Visual web part.
    SPfile's file.OpenBinary() give a byte[], but was unable to open file.
    I am using a LinkButton for the user to click on. Any advise ?

    Hi Ahamed,
    I guess you need to undertake some action server side before you redirect the user. There are a number of different ways to do it ... maybe using a long running process with redirect at the end ... or some jQuery that calls a "handler" waits for a response
    and then redirects the user.
    For the code to duplicate or copy the file see here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.spfile.aspx
    if the existing code you have to open the document in edit mode works you should be able to reuse it.

    I am trying to use netui:form in the JSP of the edit mode like this :

    If I try to use netui:form tag in another JSP (not in the edit mode, for example the JSP displayed after the begin action), it works fine.
    And it works fine in the edit mode with a netui:anchor tag. The action specified is called.

  • ALV GRID edit mode keyboard issue

    Hi,
    I have created a program that displays an ALV GRID.
    From the Layout I said to edit in edit mode the ALV Grid.
    In the menu toolbar I exclude the button 'cut - copy -paste and delete line'.
    When I run the program I see that these buttons are not displayed --> OK.
    BUT my problem is: if I use the keyboard then the ALV Grid manages these actions.
    For instance. I select some lines and press the key DELETE on the keyboard --> the lines are removed and that is not that I expect because I removed this action from the toolbar.
    For the cut - copy and paste it's the same.
    Do you have  a solution for me --> intercept an event or change the function keys or ....
    I would like that the ALV Grid does not manage the keys delete, CRTL-C, CRTL-V in edit mode.
    Thanks,
    Stevie,

    Hi Steve
    I was not aware of this. So, I recommend you to try this:
    At the event <b>"before_user_command"</b> you can terminate the process by resetting the ALV user command.
    <u><b>e.g.</b></u>
        CASE e_ucomm .
          WHEN '&INFO' .
            CALL METHOD gr_alvgrid->set_user_command
                          EXPORTING i_ucomm = space.
        ENDCASE .
    This code within the event overrides the '&INFO' function and terminates its process. For cut and copy, you can find out ucomm values by putting a break point inside the event and tracing the value of <b>"i_ucomm"</b>.
    For some relevant issues, you can inspect the tutorial <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/an%20easy%20reference%20for%20alv%20grid%20control.pdf">"An Easy Reference For ALV Grid Control"</a>.

  • Why no indication of flag status in 'edit' mode?

    In 'edit' mode, I can flag photos, either via the menu or command-period. How come I can't tell if a current photo is flagged? No indicator anywhere, except to watch the 'flagged <n>' indicator in 'recent' and hit the key combo a few times to see if the number changes...
    It seems when I do other things such as rate (command-4 for example) in edit mode, I get that nice overlay with the result of my action. Why not for flagging? Seems totally obvious that this should occur for that as well.

    Ben
    I can get a flag, not on the Picture, but on the thumbnail on the strip across the top. Makes sense to me to do to that way because if the areas I was editing was under the flag icon?
    This works for me in both full screen and main window editing.

  • Access web app - Check if form is in edit mode

    I want to hide some fields when a form is in edit mode but I can't figure out how to check that. I tried
    That is not working. Is there another way to check the "state" of a form.
    Thanks, Mike

    Hi Mike,
    Unfortunately, there is no existing method that I'm aware of to know if a view in an Access 2013 web app is currently in Edit mode or view mode. I can sympathize with you on this one since I’ve had many occasions in my apps where I wanted to use something
    like this for various scenarios. I will pass along your feedback to the product team. You can set various properties on controls using macros, however, you cannot read control property values on views in Access 2013 web app views. The one exception is reading
    values of data entry controls.
    About the closest you can come to achieving you end goal would be to do a whole lot of extra work to control basic editing and save operations on that view. For example, you could create a new custom Action Bar button on your view with the same icon as the
    existing Edit Action Bar button. Slide that one into the position you want in the Action Bar. For the On Click event of this custom one, you put the view into Edit mode, and then show the controls that you want (which are hidden by default I presume in the
    On Load event of the view).
    If you want to experiment with this technique, I would suggest trying it out on a copy of the view. There are a couple of caveats to this approach that I should point out. First, don’t delete the existing built in Edit and Save Action Bar buttons (or any
    of the built in ones for that matter). Once deleted, you can never get them back. I am always in the habit of sliding ones I don’t want to the far right and then hiding them in the On Load event of the view. That way if I ever have a need in the future to
    bring it back, the button(s) is still there for my use and all I have to do is remove the macro that is hiding it.
    The second caveat is that once you put your view into Edit mode using your own custom Action Bar edit button and then click the save button to save the record changes, your hidden controls that you wanted to display on initial load will still show for the
    next record. That may not be the behavior you want. In that case you would need to also create your own custom save Action Bar button too. In that On Click event, you would use the Save Record macro action and you would re-hide the controls that you want hidden
    again for the next record since Access will automatically pop you back into view mode with the save operation. You’ll have to experiment with this if you want to try it. You might need to hide the controls before doing the Save Record action.

  • Edit mode for a single section

    Hi,
    How can one enable edit mode for a single section in a UITableView with group sections.
    Thanks.

    Something like this should work for you:
    @interface RootViewController : UITableViewController {
    NSNumber *sectionToEdit;
    @property (nonatomic, retain) NSNumber *sectionToEdit;
    - (IBAction)doEdit:(id)sender; // test bed only
    @end
    @implementation RootViewController
    @synthesize sectionToEdit;
    - (void)dealloc {
    [sectionToEdit release];
    [super dealloc];
    - (void)editSection:(BOOL)editing section:(int)section animated:(BOOL)animated {
    UITableView *tableView = self.tableView;
    self.sectionToEdit = editing ? [NSNumber numberWithInt:section] : nil;
    [tableView setEditing:editing animated:animated];
    // test bed driver
    - (IBAction)doEdit:(id)sender {
    static BOOL editing = NO;
    editing = !editing;
    [self editSection:editing section:2 animated:YES];
    #pragma mark Table view methods
    - (BOOL)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView
    canEditRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
    if (sectionToEdit == nil)
    return YES;
    else if ([sectionToEdit intValue] == indexPath.section)
    return YES;
    else
    return NO;
    - (UITableViewCellEditingStyle)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView
    editingStyleForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
    return UITableViewCellEditingStyleInsert;
    - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView {
    return 3;
    - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView
    numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section {
    return 3;
    - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView
    cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
    static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell";
    UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
    if (cell == nil) {
    cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault
    reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease];
    cell.textLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Section %d - Row %d",
    indexPath.section, indexPath.row];
    return cell;
    Note that once a section is selected for editing, the above locks out all the other sections until the edit of the selected section is finished. I assume this is what you'd want. However if you're also providing a standard editing button to put the entire table in editing mode, you might want to change the control structure a little. E.g. if the standard button remains enabled during a section edit session, its action should probably set SectionToEdit to nil before starting the animation.

  • I can't get the patch select buttons to work in edit mode.

    I can't get the patch select buttons to work in edit mode. When I select any template, the set buttons or the patch buttons don't work at all. My up and down arrows work fine but I need the on screen buttons to be assigned to my footswitch.

    In edit mode, at concert level, select the pedal. Then in the screen control inspector, in the mappings tab, select actions>next patch.

  • WLP 10 & Portlet Edit Mode

    Hi,
    is it possible (and how) to call a pageflow action in place of a jsp for
    the portlet's edit mode ?
    Emmanuel

    From Workshop 10.0, you can add an Edit mode to the portlet's titlebar
    (e.g. drag from the Palette, right click on the titlebar). Then, select
    the Edit Mode in the outline or editor window, go to the Properties
    view, select the Content Path entry, and push the "..." button. A dialog
    will popup which prompts if the you want to select a jsp or a pageflow;
    choosing pageflow will give a class picker. Select your pageflow class.
    The Content Path attribute will become the /a/b/Controller.jpf uri of
    the pageflow.

  • Canceling edit mode

    When I go into edit mode, the only way I see to exit this mode is the "Done" button. Is there any way to exit this mode, without saving any changes? I wish there were a "Cancel" button or something like it.
    In other words, if I make a bunch of changes to a photo, and then decide I don't want to keep the changes, do I have to click "Done", and then choose "Revert to Original"? (or choose Undo til there is nothing left?) Or is there a simpler way?
    Lastly, if I do revert, will I lose all the changes ever made to the photo? What if, say, one day I do a crop that I want to keep, then another day, I do a color adjustment, which I want to revert? Can I just go back to the previous version or is it always to the original?

    No, there's no cancel option from the edit mode. You'll have to use the Photos->Revert to Original menu action to get rid of that edit and get the original version back.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Can't open photos in edit mode

    I can;t open photos in edit mode in iPhoto '08. When I double click on a photo the main window remains blank (no "!" no"?"). This problem occurs with every photo in the library. My permissions are OK. I've also tried setting the preferences to edit in Photoshop but double clicking on the photos then still accomplishes nothing.

    Steve:
    Do you get a blank white window in the edit mode? If so that may mean you do not have access to the files. Try the following:download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, putting your administrator login name, long or short, in the owner and group sections. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.
    FYI:
    Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
    1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
    2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
    3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
    This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
    If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
    Do you Twango?

  • Can't view photos in edit mode

    Hello,
    I just upgraded to iPhoto '08, and while I can view all my thumbnails ok, the photos themselves won't load at all in edit mode.
    I was using iPhoto to try to"jumpstart" my iWeb (per my other help request in another topic) when I noticed this.
    I have Leopard 10.5.2, iPhoto 7.1.2 and a 1.8 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM in my upgraded G4 tower. I tried deleting the preferences file, rebuilding the library file, opening in another account, etc, with no luck. I had even just erased my hard drive and cleanly re-installed Leopard, etc. with still the same problems in both apps. Do I just need to add more memory perhaps? I can't think of anything else...?Does Leopard require much more memory than Panther (which I had before) to run properly?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    I've had the what sounds like the exact same problem with iPhoto '08. I, too, have an upgraded 1.8 GHz G4 (AGP Graphics) running OS 10.5.3 (although the original installation was 10.5.1 and the same problem occurred before the software updates). When I try to edit a photo, the edit window opens but no picture appears. Clicking on the various editing tools and manipulating them (blindly, on a blank screen) shows that editing is actually taking place, and that changes can be saved.
    An earlier post of mine concerned the first problem I noticed since my OS and processor updates; namely, that the DVD player app won't work, but instead returns an error message saying that a valid device could not be found for playback. Several responses to that post seemed to suggest that the ATI Rage 128 video card might be the culprit and that it would need to be replaced. In the past week I've been on the phone or in email contact with tech support people at ATI, Sonnet, Other World Computing, and Apple, the last being the least knowledgeable of all of them, I'm sorry to say.
    The Sonnet guy personally runs a computer just like mine, but with the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Mac video card. That item costs $209 at OWC. But ATI says it won't work because of the G4's 200 power supply.
    These folks think that the iPhoto problem would be solved by the new video card -- but I'm not yet convinced I want to spend that kind of money to find out. Most also say that the DVD Player issue would be fixed, although the OWC guy says it has nothing to do with it.
    So we're going blind here, with much conflicting expert opinion. I'll keep watching for further discussion.

  • Unable to open a view in edit mode

    Hi All,
    I have a Notes assignment block in the Account Overview page. It contains a text area and an EDIT button to modify the notes. Corresponding view and context node for this block are  BP_DATA/NOTES and NOTES respectively. Notes context node is bound to Text context node of the component controller.
    The issue is, when agent confirms an account, goes to Overview page and clicks on EDIT button of the Notes block, then, if the block already has some text, then it turns in to EDIT mode. But if Notes section is empty initially, then, on click of EDIT button will not make the view editable.
    During debugging, I can see that if notes section is already filled with some text, then there is an entity in the collection wrapper of the NOTES context node(also in the component controller collection wrapper). But if notes section is initially empty, then collection wrapper is empty(both view and component controller context nodes).
    My requirement is to make the notes section editable even if there is no text present in it initially. It will be very helpful if someone could give me suggestions on this issue.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Naren

    Hi Nitish,
    Thanks for your reply. Infact I only coded the event handler. In the first line, I am reading the entity from the collection wrapper of the context node. If it is bound, only then I can set it in EDIT mode.
    ob_entity ?= me->typed_context->notes->collection_wrapper->get_current( ).
    IF ob_entity IS BOUND.
    Sets the view in EDIT mode
    Now, ob_entity is null if there is initially no data in the notes section of the confirmed account. However, if notes is not empty, then, ob_entity is bound and I can set the view to edit mode. This is the issue.

  • How can I open an email file in edition mode?

    Hi!
    I use a system here in my company that generates an automatic email and prepare it to be sent.
    We were using MS Outlook and we have migrated to thunderbird for lots of reasons.
    But since it has migrated, the system cannot generate this email in the composition screen.
    It generates in the inbox.
    Is there anything I can do to change this?
    I have made a few tests and I realize that the same thing happens if I save an email file in my computer and
    try to open if with the thunderbird. It's supposed to open in edition mode, so the user can send it out, with just one click.
    Thank you!

  • Text Caption appears in Edit Mode but not in Preview Project or Web Browser

    I'm using Cp4 and have downloaded Adobe Flash 10 Active X, it's ver 10.1.82.76.  I've added a simple text caption with these options:
    Timing Display:  Rest of slide
    Appear after:  2.0 seconds
    Transition effect:  Fade in only
    In: .5 seconds
    And Visible is checked
    I also have a simple line that I drew with the draw line tool and included an arrow on the end of it.
    Everything on the screen works including the click box, the animated text and the failure caption.  For some reason the text caption and the arrow are not appearing except in Edit Mode.  In Preview Project, they disapper but the click box, failure caption and animated text work fine.
    I've rebooted, copied this screen into a new instance of Cp4, re-created these objects on a freshly recorded screen, chosen Order: Bring to Front, created a brand new screen completely from scratch and downloaded the Flash 10 Active X version mentioned above.
    They funny thing is, is that the text caption and arrow works fine on other screens in the project.  I have 76 screens total.
    I'm running Windows XP.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi there
    Can you post a screen capture of what your Timeline looks like?
    Odds are your Click Box is pausing in a weird place.
    Cheers... Rick
