Editing field values in a table?

Dear Gurus,
suppose after saving info-record, the tables EINA and EINE will be updated.But, after saving it, some of the fields are not getting updated.Wat i have to do for this?

Let me make sure u r working with table control.
First u have to create a event(VALIDATE) to do the validation.
Inside the event,
1. First get the current index where user has pointed the curson
2. Once u get the index read the internal table with index value.
3. Now u can compare the col1 and col2 values and populate the error message.

l_index type i.
lo_elt = wdevent->get_context_element( name = 'CONTEXT_ELEMENT' ).
CALL METHOD LO_ELT->GET_INDEX( RECEIVING MY_INDEX = l_index.

How to get edited row values from ADF table?

I have a table which is populated with data from Bean.
I need to save changes after user make changes in any table cell. InputText is defined for table column component.
I have defined ValueChangeListener for inputText field and AutoSubmit=true. So when user change value in inputText field, method is called:

Did you look into the valueChangeEvent?
It has oldValue and newValue attributes.

Need your help . In one program Iam using SD_SALESDOCUMENT_CREATE bapi .
i/p for my report is am excel.
excel is having below formatt.
To create salesdoc we are using SD_SALESDOC_CREATE bapi.
but After execution of the program we are unable to find the ZZFV_SBCNT (which is custom field) in VBKD w.r.t salesdocument.
Need your help what we need to do to reflect the value in vbkd table.

Report query not returning the field value from external table

I have an issue regarding reports. I have a query having 4 fields from external table and remaining from db tables. the report query returns all the fields from the db tables and only 2 fields from external table. but the same query if I tried in plsql developer it returns all the fields values.
Can anyone please help me in this issue.

if you want to change the value in the CESS field of j_1irg23d table. ( sales tax )
since it is a standard table dont try to do it using update ot modify statsments.. standard tables are updated using standard transaction and it is not advicable to change using abap statments..
just try to find a bapi or field module to update that field in the j_1irg23d table.
1) To find a bapi or function module just do a whereused list on the table name you may get some fms or bapi
2) check the forum you may get some links on it..

WebDynpro - How to pass a single field value to BAPI table?

I have just come from WebDynpro ABAP training and being a novice hit my first issue right away.
I need to use BAPI - BAPI_CONTRACT_CREATEFROMDATA to create SD contract (I have used this BAPI to create a service call inside Webdynpro). I have two required fields: contract start and end dates. These fields passed in a table called CONTRACT_DATA_IN.
When I use the fields from the structures or individual fields, all I need to do is just put them on the view, and when I hit my submit button they will be passed to the BAPI. They are a part of COMPONENTCONTROLLER context (I have also mapped them in View context), but tables are obviously different.
Is there any way to pass data to tables as seamlessly without any code as for structures? Or do I need to write code to get the values from the input fields and then populate the table manually?

Hi,
Single customer contract creation use the struture-
If you want to pass only one record then using the input fields for those 2 fields we can pass them to BAPI and then create the Customer Contract. This will work for only one record of customer contract.
then we can directly read these input fields and pass to BAPI.
Creating many customer contracts -
For example, If you want to provide the group of records at a time and then you want to create the cusotmer contracts for so many records then you fill these fields and pass them to table then pass this table to the tables parameters of that BAPI.
Here we need not create the Table UI element separate input fields would serve the purpose.
Now we can create the batch of contracts for N customers.
these input fields of a customer will be passed to table, then next set of input fields etc.
For this create the Table UI element and fill all the records and then pass it to the Tables of the BAPI.

To find a field value from a table

i want to get some field value from a data dictionary table.
for eg Tragr from Mara. in Fields list it shows the field is in Mara table. but in content screen it does not showing the field at all. Actually of 220 fields of mara table only 99 fields are shown. how to view all the fields of a particular field. is there any setting is there.

When we execute any table by default SAP will display only few columns.(90 i guess) If we want to view all the columns of the table then do like this after executing the table i.e in ur table output.
Menupath->Settings->User parameters->choose radiobotton
Grid display Here u can see all the fields.
If u don't want to see all the fields then do like this.
Settings->listformat->Choosefields->Deselectall->Select what
ever fields u want using the search button in bottom and press enter. It will display only selected fields.
Some times we will come up with strange situations.
EG: In the field list some field will be there. But if u select that field from that table in select query it will give u syntax error saying field xxx does't exist in table yyy. This field is nothing but text table field. If u want to select this field then u have to select it from the text table. U can find the text table exist for some table or not in
Menupath->goto->text table. (In this case makt is text table for mara)
Just check below code for ur reference.

Here if u go to mara table u have field MAKTX But above select will not return the field maktx even we are refering wa_mara to data base table mara. We have to explicitly select it from MAKT.

Hi Friends,
I got the solution. It was the error because of not having a the below statement.
limitingCommand.setPageSize(1);
As i havent used that statement, it was trying to get 1000 records, and i dont know exactly what makes this to get that error. Anyhow., As i want to use for updation, i cn live with one record.

Modify Key Field Values of a table through Table Maintenance Generator

   I have created a z table with below structure. In this fields upto Valid To are all key fields. This is to ensure that consistant valid record get stored in the table.

I have created a Table Maintance program through the Table Maintenance Generator. And for that I have assigned a t code.
I can able to create new entires but i can not able to modify Valid_from and Valid_to entries of existing records.
Initially those two fields were in display mode but i went to its module pool program and made then as input enabled. But what the vales I was entering, its not getting saved in database. When we change the values of those fields and save it, the system is saying No Data Change.
Any inputs how to solve this issue. I can not make VALID_FROM and VALID_TO fields as non key.

As you have already said that the value for valid to is a part of the key so you should not have any issues when this value is changed and the value is saved using the table maintainence generator, but in case you want to save values where the value for valid from has changed but the key is same we would not be able to save as there is already a value for the key, so if you want to save these values there are two ways 1 would either to delete the existing value value and create the new value or to have one more field as the key field like a counter so when the value is saved with a key the value is saved with counter as 1 and then ever next time for the new values increase the value of the counter.
In order to save these values use event 5 and put you code there.
You can also carry out checks for new aithorization in that event also.

Example
1. user type vendor# in textbox
2. user clicks submit
3. 100 row GRID appear on next page with
ALL 100 vendorNo fields pre-filled based
on what was entered in step #1

1. bind the text box on page 1 to #{pageFlowScope.vendorId}
2. on the second page, use #{pageFlowScope.vendorId} as value for text in corresponding table column.

P.P.S. Keep in mind to clear the #{pageFlowScope.vendorId} on return to page 1 (e.g. by using setAction listener to set #{null} to it). This hint is gratis.

If just DFF Attribute column try direct update of attribute column.
Otherwise perhaps the APIs have them?
