Editing Jlist Item Contents....

hi,
i want to edit the contents of a Jlist Item.
any help???
Manikandan

in your ListSelectionListener you must check if the event is one of multiple change events. In your case you get one event when the mouse first selects an item and possible more when you move the cursor over the other entries. If you are only interested in the final selection check if e.getValueIsAdjusting() is false.
// not interested in events if they are not final
if (e.getValueIsAdjusting())
    return;
// do what ever you want
System.out.println(colorList.getSelectedValue());
...Hope this helps!

  • How to force Portal not to display item content for a custom item

    Hi,
    I've read in several places questions about rendering an Item in a custom way, without letting portal
    display the item content, if you read along I've discovered a SIMPLE WAY to force portal not to
    display the content item.
    As per bugs and requests on metalink it seemed that in many versions of Oracle Portal (mine is 9.0.4.1)
    this is impossible, since even if we remove the "Item Content" from the list of displayed attributes in the
    region, Portal does display it anyway, just after every other Attribute.
    - Re: using an item type procedure
    - Metalink BUG # 3998251 "ENH: SHOULD BE ABLE TO HIDE "ITEM CONTENT" FOR TEXT ITEMS OR NEED A NEW ITEM TYP" and is being looked into internally whether it is feasible to include this in future releases.
    - Metalink Doc ID:      Note:290534.1          Subject:      Unable to Hide the "Item Content" Attribute for a Text Item
    Mine scenario was the usual one:
    -oracle portal 9.4.0.1
    -a custom item based on custom text (so as to have the RTE to edit HTML).
    -A few attributes that help me define the class of an enclosing DIV tag that I wanted to put (a class and an ID)
    -A plsql call associated to the custom item, with the flag "display inline" checked
    -The dirty HTML generated by the built-in Oracle RTE (with BODY and HTML tags enclosing the actual HTML)
    -The region that will contain the item is set so that just the "Function Call" is (or should be) displayed
    I wanted to control entirely the display of the item text, while enclosing it in a custom DIV tag.
    After a few tries, one of which involved forcing an HTML comment around the item content that Portal stubbornly
    displayed, I've discovered this simple way. I don't know hom much this way is portable, but is done entirely with the APIs.
    In the stored procedure that displays the item, that I encolose, i just do:
    1) retrieved the ITEM querying WWSBR_ALL_ITEMS;
    2) updated the ITEM via WWSBR_API.MODIFY_ITEM, passing as display_otpion the value WWSBR_API.FULL_SCREEN!!
    Here I try a little explanation:
    An item just created has FULLSCREEN=1 and INPLACE=0. This way the stored procedure is executed
    AND the item content is displayed.
    WIth the modify_item, the item gets FULLSCREEN=1 and INPLACE=2 !! This seems strange since the docs
    tells that inplace can be 0 or 1. But this works.
    I've played with the WWV_THINGS table directlry, and setting INPLACE to 0, 2 or 3 works as well, while
    if it is set to 1, it behave the usual way.
    The trick is to have FULLSCREEN to 1 while INPLACE is not set to 1.. and this was the easiest solution.
    I'd like to receive a feedback from Oracle regarding this behaviour.

  • How to remove the item content from my alert Template (alerttemplates.xml) .

    I have enabled alerts to be send from my enterprise wiki & announcement list. Currently the alert email, will display the item content inside the email (the wiki page content or the announcement list content), which i do not want to have. So is
    there a way to remove the item content , so my alert message contains only the following info such as:-
    Our Group Intranet
    TestItem has been added
    Modify my alert settings
    |
    View TestItem
    |
    View News & Announcements
    |
    Mobile View

    Hi johnjohn123,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to change the notification message in the alert template.
    You can edit the ImmediateNotificationExcludedFields and DigestNotificationExcludedFields tags to achieve it. After editing the xml, remember apply the template
    to your site using the command below.
    execute command stsadm -o updatealerttemplates -filename <your modified xml file> -url <your site>
    Also, It is not suggested to edit the alert template directly, I suggest you back up the template firstly before customization.

  • Editable Pages For Content Manager

    Hi
    On my website I would like my friend/the client to be able to login (there will be only one user) and after he logs in - some of the pages should 'change' to allow user input/edits.
    I have designed the pages - both editable (with forms) and non editable (just content). - ((The website uses PHP and a MySQL database.))
    What is the recommended way/'best' way to send the logged in user to the editting pages - and the general guest to the non-edit pages?  - Do I use separate pages - or should I use conditionals on a single page to display content/forms based on the person viewing the site?
    In otherwords - I want to create a very basic CMS for my client after he has logged in.
    Thanks!
    Chris

    1. Make a directory in the website. I name mine "admin." This directory will be password protected, or protect access using sessions.
    2. I don't know how you organized your database, but normally the content for all the pages will be in a single table (in some cases a set of joined tables). To edit the content of a page, you need to populate a form in your admin system with the desired page content. So first you have a menu page which lists the pages (i.e. contact, home page, etc.). The items listed should link to the form that edits the page content and opens it up with the appropriate page content.
    For instance, you can use the GET variable to send the appropriate page ID, like this:
    edit_page.php?page_id=7
    The edit page will contain a form with fields such as TITLE, MAIN_PHOTO, MAIN_CONTENT, LEFT_COLUMN_CONTENT.
    The content fields will use the textarea form field type and usually you want to connect them to a WYSIWYG editor like TinyMCE or CKeditor. My preference is CKeditor. Using such an editor gives the content manager the ability to format text, create lists, add images, etc.
    There is an eBook called Build Your Own Database Driven Website Using PHP & MySQL, published by Sitepoint. It isn't the best book about PHP/MySQL, but it does focus on the elements of a basic CMS.

  • How to center JList  items

    Hi,
    I want to center my Jlist item instead of leave them in the left like usual. My List contains pictures and for the beauty of the design it's better to have the image in the center of each cells. How to do it?
    thanks.

    Do you know how to make a JLabel which contains a centred icon? Now make a ListCellRenderer that uses one of those to render your images in the JList.

  • How to save JList items!

    hello,
    i m creating a class that has three JList components.
    My problem is how to save the each JList items into a seperate logfile(ie. text file).

    More info required:
    What are in the JList? Strings? Custom objects?
    Do you know basic file IO?
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/io/index.html
    What you will need to do is get the model, ilterate over each element, then write that element out. If the element is a string, then that is easy, just create a FileWriter, and write the string, followed by a new line.
    If it is a custom object, then the task is harder, and you need to decide how that object should be represented.
    If you are after a computer readable view of the model, rather than a human readable, which can easily be read by Java back into a ListModel, then you want to look at XMLEncoder and XMLDecode, or the Serializing Objects tutorial.

  • How to get submitted items' content during a DecisionPoint in a Subscriber ?

    Hi!
    (If this is not the right msdn forum for my question, thx in advance to redirect me to the correct one ;)
    I have to develop "server side event handlers" for TFS (kind of server-side "Check-in Policies" which may not be disabled/skipped by the developers and which do not require distribution/maintenance on thousands of workstations).
    Concretely, I am going to implement Subscribers (inheriting from Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Framework.Server.ISubscriber)
    In some of those Subscribers, I have to decide to accept or reject the "check-in" based on the submitted items' content.
    Concretely, it will result in something like the code bellow. My current issue is that I am only able to retrieve the server name of the submitted item, not its content. Do you know if there is a shelveset available with the submitted item, streams readable
    server side, a list with the objects in the notification's argument, a "temporary" file in source control ? Or do I have to read the file in the developers' local workspace (I have indeed the workspace name and machine name) ?
    I did debug my code server side (in TFS) but didn't find anything (obvious) in  notificationEventArgs' subtree :/
    class ServerSidePolicy : ISubscriber
        public EventNotificationStatus ProcessEvent(TeamFoundationRequestContext requestContext,
                                            NotificationType notificationType,
                                            object notificationEventArgs,
                                            out int statusCode,
                                            out string statusMessage,
                                            out ExceptionPropertyCollection properties)
            EventNotificationStatus response = EventNotificationStatus.ActionApproved;
            properties = new ExceptionPropertyCollection();
            statusMessage = String.Empty;
            statusCode = 0;
            // If this is a Check-in notification
            if (notificationEventArgs is CheckinNotification)
                // If this is a Decision point
                if (notificationType == NotificationType.DecisionPoint)
                    CheckinNotification args = notificationEventArgs as CheckinNotification;
                    foreach (var submittedItem in args.SubmittedItems)
                        if (!MyValidate(submittedItem))
                            statusMessage = string.Format("{0} is not valid.", submittedItem);
                            response = EventNotificationStatus.ActionDenied;
                            properties.Set("Violated Rule", "Item's content not valid");
                            statusCode = -1;
                            break;
            return response;
        private bool MyValidate(string item)
    Really, thx a lot of any info! I didn't find anything in the msdn either :(
    PS.: Is there anyone who knows where I could find more information/documenation on the class {Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Server.PendingItemDbPagingManager}. This is the type of the SubmittedItems... I sounds like an object to access the
    content of those SubmittedItems... However, I did explore it without any interesting finding.

    Hello Valéry,
    Thanks for your post.
    Based on your description it seems that you would like to use TFS API to get the content of these checked in files programmatically.
    You can use the following code to get all the pending changes in your workspace:
    public
    static void GetItem()
    NetworkCredential cre =
    new NetworkCredential("userName","password","domain");
    TfsTeamProjectCollection tfs = new TfsTeamProjectCollection(new Uri("http://serverName:8080/tfs/CollectionName"), cre);
    VersionControlServer versionControl =(VersionControlServer)tfs.GetService(typeof(VersionControlServer));
    var workspace = vcs.GetWorkspace("WorkspaceName",
    "WorkspaceOwner");
    var changes=workspace.GetPendingChanges();
    foreach (var change
    in changes)
    var item= vcs.GetItem(change.ServerItem);
    Thanks.

  • Can not edit Calendar Items on iPhone 4 that were sent from Outlook 2013

    Hi Folks,
    When receiving a calendar item from Outlook 2013, I can accept it, but not edit it. When I receive the same item from Outlook 2003, I can accept AND edit.
    How can I edit calendar items sent from Outlook 2013?
    We are not using an Exchange server, simply sending the calendar items via email. We noticed this when we upgraded our office from MS Office 2003 to 2013.
    Thank you so much for your help!

    Are you sure the Outlook 2013 calendar entries are set set to shared?

    I am not able to do it in item level. Pl help to to make Payment Term field non editable in item level.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    You can try implicit enhancement in the include MV45AF0T_TCTRL_U_ERF_AUFTRAG_I
    use below code.
    DATA: WA_COLS LIKE LINE OF TCTRL_U_ERF_AUFTRAG-COLS.
       LOOP AT   TCTRL_U_ERF_AUFTRAG-COLS INTO WA_COLS.
       IF WA_COLS-SCREEN-NAME = 'VBAP-ZTERM'. " Check the field name
       WA_COLS-SCREEN-INPUT = 0.
       WA_COLS-SCREEN-OUTPUT = 1.
      MODIFY TCTRL_U_ERF_AUFTRAG-COLS FROM WA_COLS.
       ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    It better to control it via a custom authorization object.
    put a authorization create a custom authorization object so that you can restrict it for a certain users.
    AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'ZTERM'
             ID 'ACTVT' FIELD '02'.
    IF SY-SUBRC NE 0.
       LOOP AT   TCTRL_U_ERF_AUFTRAG-COLS INTO WA_COLS.
    ENDLOOP.
    ENDIF.

  • Bug editing list Items using webpart connections ,group by and inline editing

    Hi Everyone. I came across a bug using out of the box features.
    Let me explain well the details to reproduce the error. I used :
    *2 Lists :
    -List one : the consumer list with two columns :
    -Number column
    -Choice column
    -List two :
    The sender list with one column :
      -Lookup column to gets the number column on the consumer list
    *A webpart Page
    *2 listviewwebparts in the webpart page
    *Connect webparts to filter by the lookup column/number column
    *Add inline editing in the consumer webpart
    Till now everything works perfectly, inline editing works fine. Let's add some more view details :
    *Add a group by in the view of the consumer webpart (group by the choice column)
    => Try to edit list items, you will notice that inside a group, inline editing is OK and inside another group it doesnt work!
    If you get the same error, that would be nice to find where is the problem (I already found a similar bug and the problem was the sorting that needs to be in the same way for both connected webparts , ASC or DESC). But this one... ???

    Hi Static,
    According to your description, I create the consumer list and sender list, create a webpart page , add a chioce filter webpart and consumer list webpart. But after I add a group by in the view of the consumer webpart, the inline edit still work fine.
    You can have a look at the blog:

    thanks ,

    I have been pulling my hair out for a few days trying to find
    this solution. This fixed my problems as well.
    I was getting ready to scrap the Report Builder altogether
    and move to SQL Server Reporting Services over this issue.
    I'm running 7.0.2 also, that version alone fixed many small
    issues like creating borders and such.

    Something like this work. I haven't tested it but it pretty close :)
    var file = new File("~/somefile.csv");
    file.open("r");
    file.close();
    var str = file.read();
    var nstr = str.replace(/\bNo\b/g, 'Yes');
    file.open("w");
    file.write(nstr);
    file.close();
    -X

    Hi Deepak!
    This seems to be a well-known and quite widespread problem with this extension, unfortunately - the net is full of complaints about this issue, not to mention 'horror stories' about how this (otherwise fairly innocent and well-certified but clearly highly commercial) extension has 'sneaked' its way into peoples installations.
    I find it quite amazing that such an issue has existed for so long without the Browser Highlighter, TinyMCE and FCKeditor teams getting together and making a working fix - it should be rather easy to prevent with a tag or plugin check in editor code and/or a simple editor recognition routine in the extension.
    If you want (/need) to use this extension, I can only point you to the Browser Highlighter homepage for support; in [http://thebrowserhighlighter.com/help.jsp The Browser Highlighter Help section] it is clearly documented - first section, last paragraph - along with a link to [http://thebrowserhighlighter.com/blacklist.jsp this problem report form] where it seems you can ask for help solving the problem.
    However, given the (script-)name of the page, I suppose that reporting a problem on your own website (with all details) actually adds your site - or part of it - to a blacklist that TBH maintains to turn off TBH or at least problematic script injections when visiting sites registered in this list. So actually this might help you solve the problem quite easily, if they do what the page implies.
    Please let us know how above works out, and if we can be of further assistance. Detailed feedback is appreciated and helps us to help you better, plus enables us to better help more users with similar problems.

  • Dynamically changing size of JList items?

    Hello!
    I'm working on an application which kind of revolves around a JList with a custom ListCellRenderer. Now, it all works rather good as it is, but I want the selected JList item to show more detailed information about the selected value, and thus I need it to be bigger then the not selected items. The thing is that no matter what I do I can't seem to make the JList adopt to the new size of the selected item, which results in only half of the stuff in the selected item being shown.
    Is there any way to do this it would be great! (I bet there is some really simple way which I have simply overlooked.)
    And, fyi: The component returned by getListCellRendererComponent is a JPanel which consists of three JLabels using a GridLayout. The selected component is generally the same, but with an extra row in the GridLayout.
    Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreceated!
    Yours, Jiddo.

    I have tried with a couple of different layout managers, and none of them (except for this one) seems to offer me the layout I need. Also, I have tried making it return different instances depending on if it is selected or not. The non-selected one has only one row in the layout while the selected has two. Here is a screenshot of how it looks:
