Email Template in OIM API

Hi All
I wanted to send an email using an email definition that i already created through Design Console.
is there any API that uses the email template to send mail in the custom code.
instead of we hard coding everything in the code.

You can construct and send email with the email defintiion like this:
tcEmailNotificationUtil emailNotificationUtil = new tcEmailNotificationUtil ();
emailNotificationUtil.constructEmail(emailDefintiionName);
emailNotificationUtil.sendEmail(EmailAddress);

which was having utilities method like send-email etc.where we were able to access the email template from design console and send mail to user.

Sending email to user using the notification template in OIM 11g

Hi all
I have created a Notification Template using web console in OIM 11g.
Iam able to access the contents from notification template in my java code.
But iam not able to find the correct api's to send email to user using the notification template
(like tcEmailNotificationUtil using this class we can connect to email template created in design console and creating IT resourse we can send email to user using the method sendEmail).

But i have the same doubt here.
"The Notification Event is defined through a XML file that must be loaded into MDS database." - in which path and in what name it should be.
Because under /metadata/iam-features-notification, i couldnt see any event Xml present. I thought atleast we could see the existing OOB notification template's event xml files.
Please let me know if you are aware.

OIM 11g: Email template - child table columns

Hi All
How can I fetch the child table (process form child table) columns in the OOTB email templates. When I select Process form data on the email definition screen on Design console, I am only able to select the main process form's columns.
Please help. Its urgent.

OOTB not possible you have to write code for fetching child data.
I suggest send mail using custom code and fetch child data using OIM APIs.

OIM Email notification in Provisioning Related Type in Email Template

Hi,
I have done the Email Notification for the RequestRelated type in the EmailTemplate where a Resource is granted to a user and the mail goes to a particular User or Group in the Assignment Tab of the Process task. Its ok.
Now I want to do for the Provisioning related type specified in the Email Template.I tried to attach my Mail Template in the provisioning task related to a particular Resource but mail is not generating .
Can anyone briefly tell me How to generate mail for the Provisioning Related type ?????

Have you attached the email definition in the Notification tab of the provisioning task?
Also, you need to be sure if the task status was reached to start the email notification.

Error while entering Long message in Email Template

While Creating Email template with 28 kb data as Long message field in OIM 11g R2 Im getting error like "Invalid size of inputs in en_US in Locale " so unable to save and please provide the solution Is there any changes in property or something?

Yes that is right what is mentioned above, first you give the company code and name then give the currency then select address (Shift+F5) and in that if you select country as IN then it will automatically come to master data.

Disable Notification template in oim 11g

In OIM 11g there are a set of notifications under system management(advanced tab in admin console). How do you disable an email notification without deleting the email template?

Well try this piece of code. This might be similar to yours but it worked perfectly for me. For you the error might be the attribute names which you are passing, it should be the one dfined in the FormMetaData xml as below.

And for the query of challenge QnA, these are the following combinations possible:
1) Property Does user have to provide challenge information during registration set to TRUE
- During self-registration from web console, it will show you Challenge Questions section on the right. If you do not select any questions, it will thow you an error there itself.
- Doing it from API will create no difference(even if you pass a blank HashTable). The request will be created successfully and on completion when the user tries to login, it will ask for Security QnA.
2) Property Does user have to provide challenge information during registration set to FALSE
- During self-registration from web console, it doesn't show you Challenge Questions section on the right. The request will be created successfully and on completion when the user tries to login, it will ask for Security QnA.

Email Template issues

Hi Gurus,
IHAC who has a Provisioning Account Complete email template assigned on Notification tab for Create User task.
The email template is a Provisioning Related type and they are using some Requested Related tags.
At the Recon events, after createUser task is complete the email has been sent as below.
No information is got from OIM and the tags are displayed. The customer needs to have login information sent by email.
Is anything wrong?

How to Create Resource Object in OIM through SQL queries or OIM APIs

Hello,
I have to create few (100) resource Objects in OIM. I was creating manually through Design console one by one. In future we might need to create many more Resource Objects .It takes lot of time if we do it through Manually.
Is there any possiblity we can create Resource Objects through SQL query or OIM APIs ???

you would end up with a file called RESCFORM.xml where when imported would have
UD_RESCFORM
Resc Resource Resouce Defintion
Resc Process Process Defition with basic tasks pointing to a dummy adapter.
You can optionally create your own prepop so it will get assigned to the form when you import.

Can no longer select text in email template or read only field with mouse using IE or Firefox?

Hi Guys,
I can no longer select text in email template or read only field using my mouse in IE or Firefox anymore. We are using CRM 2011 rollup 18 applied with IE 11 and the latest version of Firefox. We only applied roll up 18 in Feb when this issue began.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

All the limits you mention 100 e-mails at a time and 500 in a four hour time frame are limitations imposed by your mail provider, not Thunderbird. Thunderbird places no restrictions on the maximum number of recipients.
Have you tried turning your computer off for a few minutes?

Problem with links on email templates

We have been having issues with links on our email templates. Some of the links point to the following URL:

Sometimes we get “Unknown internal error” on the web page.

Hi Wesley,
This is rather late, but we've seen the same thing frequently (and I believe can replicate it). It's caused when you a creating a new email by copying the content of an existing one with a name space in it.
Upon copying, the link gets scrambled. The approach we use is to copy the email in to a new template, then strip out all of the URL links and add them back in.
