  • Email through Event receiver in SharePoint Online

    Hi,
    I am creating an event receiver for custom list which will send email to users in sharepoint online.
    I am using the following code to send email through event receivers in sharepoint.
                MailMessage mMailMessage = new MailMessage();
                mMailMessage.From = new MailAddress("[email protected]");
                mMailMessage.To.Add(new MailAddress("[email protected]));
                mMailMessage.Subject = "subject1";
                mMailMessage.Body = "just a body";
                mMailMessage.IsBodyHtml = true;
                SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient("smtp.office365.com", 587)
                    Credentials = new NetworkCredential("[email protected]", "****"),
                    EnableSsl = true,
                   UseDefaultCredentials = false,
              client.Send(mMailMessage);
    NOTE: I am using MailMessage() because it is in the sandbox solution.
    However I am facing the following error :
    Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.Mail.SmtpPermission, System, Version=4.0.0.0,
    Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.
    It may be because I am trying to use SMTP server of sharepoint Online,However I am not able to connect it.
    Can anybody help me and can advice how to send email programmatically from sharePoint online ?
    Thanks
    Jhalak

    In Office 365, there's no direct way to send an email programmatically because the SPUtility.SendEmail
    Method isn't available in sandboxed solutions. The workaround is to use the Send an Email action in a list workflow.

  • Ios7.1.2 email server authentication error

    We have a problem sending email using iMail client on a) iPad (ios7.1.2(11D257) and b) iMac (Auto updating Mavericks OS10). However, we can send email from iPad (ios7.1.1 (11D201). All three devices can receive email.
    All machines use the same email account and servers. All are using the same email client. All have been working effectively for past 4 years - the problem started about 1 month ago.
    Have spent "hours" with email service provider to troubleshoot the problem. Here is a list of the steps we have taken:
    1) checked email servers, confirming that email accounts can both send and receive email. This included testing via a webmail client, and from a Microsoft Outlook client. In both cases the tests confirmed that email can be received AND sent via the email server.
    2) setup alternate email servers, on different ports, on iPad - can always receive email but cannot send. The error message that is received is "username or password for 'mail.iinet.net.au' is incorrect"
    3) deleted email accounts and rest device to wipe it clean, then started from scratch - can establish the email account, can receive email, but still get the same error message when trying to send email "username of password for 'mail.iinet.net.au' is incorrect"
    4) tried alternative email client (CloudMagic, Evomail, Canonball) - not possible to connect to the email account, typical error is "unable to verify your account information"
    5) tried to setup account on iPhone across mobile phone network to isolate whether problem was local WiFi - same result
    The only thing that has shone any light on this was when we identified the outgoing mail server as "mailout.comhem,se" with no authentication. With this setting email would send. This could suggest a problem with the WiFi network, but it has been working perfectly well up till now, and on other WiFi networks. It also does not explain the problem with iMac from home which is directly connected to an ADSL service provided by our email service provider (no intermediary in play at all).  This also means that for every new WiFi network that I use (I travel a lot) I will need to find the details of an intermediate outgoing mail server for the specific WiFi provider. It is not clear why routing through an intermediary email server overcomes the authentication error at the destination email server, unless there is some more fundamental problem at play.
    The authentication error has been isolated to somewhere between the device and the server - could there be some ios7.1.2 issue at play that is causing the authentication to fail, but not when directed through an intermediary mail server?
    This problem is deeply frustrating, and any help would be greatly appreciated

    I haven't ran across this, but I do see that there is no SQL Instance Name in your screenshot. Try putting SQLTMS in there and then click next and see what happens. Or if you know the name of your TMS database instance, put that in there.

    On the tab, select Runtime tab -> Credentials

    Also I restarted the PDF Manipulation Module, but still getting the same above error while deploying and same message on selecting "Document Services Configuration"
    Can someone tell me how I can solve this error
    Regards
    Deep

    Hi Francios,
        The pop-up error message has gone. The problem is with the rights with the folder "credential" means I have added the credential file to the /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global/AdobeDocumentServices/TrustManagerService/trust/credentials directory and done the steps as given in first message too but it does not set the Expiry Date.
    Now I have given the full rights to credentials directory in Operating System and done these steps again.
    This time it also fetches the Expiry date and the pop-up error message has gone.
    So, there is no problem with JCE installation.
    But again when I deployed the Travel Request Application the same error message is coming which is in my first message.
    I am again putting some statements from my first message
    <b>Caused by: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.pdfobject.core.PDFObjectRuntimeException:

    error while logging into credential ^0
    GeneralError: Operation failed.
    SecurityHandler.login:-1:

    Now when I am going through /tmp/adobewa_SPD_18828050/DM4291422590189871105.dir/DM-3572217866344419510.tmp

    So what to do now. Please suggest.

  • Sending an email through JavaMail

    Hi
    I am trying to send an email through JavaMail, the jsp page which is sending the mail is called testmail.jsp. Code snippet:
    try
    InternetAddress toAddress = new (InternetAddress"xxxxxxxx","xxx");
    InternetAddress fromAddress = new InternetAddress("xxxxxxx","xxxxxx");
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.put("mail.smtp.host", "xxxxxxxx");
    Session mailsession = Session.getDefaultInstance(props, null);
    Message msg = new MimeMessage(mailsession);
    msg.addRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO, toAddress);
    msg.setSubject("A Simple E-mail Message!");
    msg.setFrom(fromAddress);
    msg.setText("Hi\rThis message has been sent from a JSP page.\nBye\rTest");
    Transport.send(msg);
    %>
    <b>An e-mail has been sent.</b>
    <%
    catch (Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    When i send the email to my own email address(on the same domain where the actual testmail.jsp is hosted) my mail is being sent successfully. BUT when i try sending to eg. a hotmail address I just get a blank page with no errors (from Tomcat) and no mail is sent.
    PLEASE HELP. Is it something to do with the protocol or am I doing something wrong
    THANKS LODES

    Basically, it's fine. The only thing I could see (other than adding imports, etc.) was that there was an extra open parenthesis in the first InternetAddress declaration. This is my complete JSP, which worked fine for me:<%@ page import="javax.mail.*" %>
    <%@ page import="javax.mail.internet.*" %>
    <%@ page import="java.util.*" %>
    <%
    try {
       InternetAddress toAddress = new InternetAddress("[email protected]","Bill Gates");
       InternetAddress fromAddress = new InternetAddress("[email protected]","Hotmail");
       Properties props = new Properties();
       props.put("mail.smtp.host", "smtp.server.address");
       Session mailsession = Session.getDefaultInstance(props, null);
       Message msg = new MimeMessage(mailsession);
       msg.addRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO, toAddress);
       msg.setSubject("A Simple E-mail Message!");
       msg.setFrom(fromAddress);
       msg.setText("Hi\rThis message has been sent from a JSP page.\nBye\rTest");
       Transport.send(msg);

    I am trying to send an email through jsp in wml, i think i have everything set up properly with regards to tomcat however I keep getting the error
    "Invalid element 'PCDATA' in context of card expected on event ....."
    The line of code in which this occurs is

    I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with this and be able to tell me why it thinks this is PCDATA and not jsp code.

    can only access emails through OWA after migration from exchange 2007 to 2013, in other words unable to access mails through outlook or from other Applications services.
    needed RCA ... plz help..

    Hi,
    From your description, you can send and receive messages only when you use OWA after migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
    In your case, I recommend you create a new test mailbox in your Exchange 2013 and check if you can send and receive messages on Outlook. If yes, it is recommended to create a new profile to solve this issue.
    Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Cannot send email through yahoo on iPad 4, apple.smtp.mail.yahoo not available as of December 1, 2012

    I am unable to send emails through yahoo on my ipad 4 wifi, just starting over the weekend. My 3 other non-yahoo email accounts are working fine on my ipad. When I try to send an email from the yahoo account, I receive the message that the connection to the outgoing mail server "apple.smtp.mail.yahoo" failed. I can send email through yahoo just fine on the web and on my computer through Thunderbird.

    Yahoo's been having persistently random issues for months. You can try just waiting it out, or delete and readd your yahoo account. When my accounts were affected I just used webmail to access my yahoo accounts until it cleared up.
    Chances are it's all on their end and really all you can do is wait it out.

  • Can I access my other email through iCloud

    Is there any way to access my other email accounts through iCloud?
    Example: My work email is through cox mail. (it is [email protected] I never really used my mobileme email (that is now in iCloud).
    For iCloud to be useful for me, I would want to access my work email through it when I am on the road. Is it possible to add other email accounts?
    Of course, I can access my cox mail through their own website - but it sure would be useful to access my calendar, mail, etc all in one place (the cloud). Isnt that the point?
    I have heard of people setting up - for example - a gmail account but have it actually LOOK like their work email to the receiver. If I cannot just add my other accounts to iCloud, is this a possibility?

    thats too bad. Oh well. So far I dont see a big use for iCloud. I much prefer the older MobileMe.
    I could park my iWeb websites of my children - with iCloud that disappeared. Kinda defeats the user-friendliness of iWeb. One click publishing through mobileme account was a great idea.
    One day there will be one spot where I can park all my stuff. I guess iCloud is not that place. Hopefully this is just the first step and it will get fine tuned and expanded in the future.

  • Can't send email through my aol mail on my iPad 2 after updating to iOS 7

    I had to update m iPad because I was no longer able to work a lot of my apps because they kept telling me that there was an update that I had to do in order to even work my apps!  I was very reluctant to do it in the first place fearing that I would loose a lot of my pics, videos and or more!  Anyway so the other day I sat down and finally did it.  After updating my iPad 2 to the new operating system of iOS 7 now I cannot send emails through my aol mail on my iPad.  I tried putzing with the settings for smtp and to no avail nothing,  I then decided well maybe downloading the aol app would help but still not good enough because it takes up so much room that I had to delete some apps just to get it.  I had since deleted the aol app and am still trying to figure out why I keep getting the message I am getting is incorrect] hen it gives me two options which are option 1) Settings and option 2) Cancel.  I am in need of assistance here because I can receive mail but cannot send it.  Oh and I am able to send mail through my other email addresses on my iPad mail including my me.com and iCloud.com as well as two others but am not able to send through aol.  I am loosing my patience with apple very quickly as one why did I have to update the system and why am I forced to update my apps which I feel is completely ridiculous in the first place.  Everything was fine until I had to do that and now I cannot keep my iPad on for more then an hour when the battery drains so quickly now because I guess it takes up so much unneeded space!  PLEASE HELP ME!

    Hello, PriestessJeanann.
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    Here is an article I would recommend going through when experiencing issues with mail.  The usual fix would be to delete the email account in question and add this account via the preset AOL option.  I would also recommend checking with your email provider for security procedures such as two-step verification as this could cause this issue.
