Email via Game Centre

For the 6months or so I have been receiving daily emails with only a persons first name in the "from" field, odd sentences in the preview screen and the content of the email is usually for various drugs. I have also received emails that lack any English words and of late have had email from "marketing and communication" regarding overdue electrical bills. In all of these emails if I touch the address line it lists "Game Center" plus my password. I don't play games with others through the web and don't understand how this was accessed. I have sent numerous notes to Apple, however no resolve as yet.  Any advice would be welcome.

On both devices: close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon). Then reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

    It sounds like you are noticing someone else is accessing your Clash of Clans data by playing the game and you have tried to reset your Apple ID password. If you are following the steps outlined in this article:

    Have you tried signing out of your Apple ID and reset the iPad? Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID, tap you ID and sign out. Reset the iPad.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Sign in again. Try Game Center again.
    I asked the hosts to remove your screenshot if they are able to do so. You have posted your email address. That is not a good idea to do that when posting in a public forum.

  • I can't connect to game centre - suddenly just a blank white screen?

    Please help - I've had my ipad for a few years and never an issue - all of a sudden yesterday Game Center won't open - none of my games connect so I logged directly on to the Game Center app icon and it just brings up a blank white screen. I have logged out of my apple account and logged back in again, I have switched the ipad off completely and then switched on again, I have checked that wifi is connected and I have gone into settings to open the game centre settings and again it just hangs - it has my Apple ID at the top and then a blank screen underneath. I'm at a loss what to try next ... Any ideas welcome!! Thank you.

    if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes

    I have two iPads, one is my son's machine. Previously he had an IPad 1 and mine was an ipad2. The iPad 1 died so I bought myself a new ipad4. I have only one appleID for both machines but created two Game centre accounts as there is a couple of games we both play and have different high scores. ipad 4 is nicely set up with all of my game data but now I would like some help in reinstating My sons game centre account (previously on the ipad1) now on the iPad 2. When I try to log into game centre it only lets me out in my appleID which gives up my game center account. Thankyou.

    You and your husband can share a store account and still have seperate iCloud accounts for your contacts, bookmarks and stuff like that.  Click here for instructions to make an apple account without entering a credit card.  Make sure you use a different email address for each apple account. 
    Set up your iPhone/iPad whatever using the new account for iCloud.  Then go into settings/store and sign in with your purchasing account, you may need to sign out of the other account.  To the best of my knowledge, your household is allowed to share purchased legally, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
    Once you each have your own devices set to your own accounts you can set them to backup to that account and it will keep all your contacts seperate.

    This is our resident iPhoto guru, Terence Devlin's, advice:
    You can move your iPhoto Library to an external disk pr new Mac:
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

    Following further research, this keyboard lag issue appears to be related to the (botched) iOS 7.1 update. It's good to know I am not the only user who had his iPad mini rendered unusuable by the iOS 7.1 update, however that does not solve my problem.

    Try closing Game Centre via the iPad's multitasking bar and see if it works when you re-open it :
    iOS 7 : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the Game Centre's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
    iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with Game Centre 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Game Centre app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    This is my first post so I hope I've put it in the right area?
    My partner originally had the iPad I currently use, which is an iPad2.
    He created a Game Centre profile and every game I have downloaded from the App store has gone under 'his' Game Centre Profile BUT using 'my' Apple ID & password.
    I'm getting a new iPad Air today and want to transfer EVERYTHING to my OWN Game Centre profile and DO NOT want to risk losing all my games on the iPad 2!!
    1. If I delete his Game Centre profile do I risk mucking up or losing my games on the iPad 2?
    2. Can I merge the two Game Centre accounts?
    3. What do I do?
    I was told his Game Centre account was linked via iCloud so I deleted that, but still his Game Centre account keeps on popping up on the iPad 2.
    I'd really appreciate anyone's help on this, who is far more experienced than I am because I really don't want to lose my games that I've been playing for a number of years
    End result:  I want ALL my games on the iPad 2 onto my new iPad Air under my own Game Centre account.

    Yes, you can certainly create a new Apple ID at appleid.apple.com (which will have to be associated with a different email address from your current ID) and then change the various settings and applications on one of your iPhones to use this new ID.

    I've got one apple id that I'm using on multiple devices in our household - 2 iphones, and ipad, and an ipod.  I'm trying to workout how to have separate Game Centre id's under that one apple id.  I've tried a few things that I've seen listed on here, but it seems things have changed with the ios7 update.  It's frustrating the **** out of me - any help would be greatly appreciated.

    After 2 hours worth of searching with no answer, I decided to run a test and it worked. This is what I did to have multiple Game Center IDs on iOS7. (People responding may have over looked this detail because they assumed it was obvious, but it wasn't)
    Answer: you MUST have multiple Apple ID accounts, however, you use the main one to log in to SETTINGS > ITUNES & APP STORE.
    1. I deleted the Alternate Email Address associated with my account
    2. I created an entire new Apple ID with this email address
    3. I login in to SETTINGS > ITUNES & APP STORE with my original Apple ID (credit card on file)
    4. I login to Game Center, iCloud, etc... with my kid's NEW Apple ID
    So purchasing still goes under our shared account and game center, iCloud, etc... go under my kid's Apple ID.

    Do the songs have an iCloud icon?
    If so, the songs with an iCloud icon were purchased from the iTunes Store and have not been downloaded. You must select on the iCloud icon for a song to download it.

  • Unable to send out emails via outlook express since 06/29/2010

    Task '[email protected]" - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'        This is a copy/paste of error message from Office Outlook  2003
    Our household has been unable to "send" outgoing emails since 06/29/2010.  This includes a wireless laptop and a PC. We both lost the ability to send emails same day.  We changed NOTHING and did not share emails with each other that would have corrupted our system. During this time I have had 2 Verizon techs dance around in the PC doing all the same things I did as well as what  the automated assistant did.  The last tech said the Outlook Express 6.0 was corrupted, and to unistall it and then reinstall;  this time 2 hours later, I think he just gave up).  That did not work either.  I tried using the Outlook Office and still got an error message for outging. Everything is set up as it was when it was working until 06/29/2010.  I was told that there was a new server being installed and that things wold be working by 07/02/2010... I have tried taking down the firewall, turning off virus protection (McAfee), changing from outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net to just outgoing.verizon.net, checking boxes, unchecked boxes. SMPT is set to 587.  We get incoming fine.  I hate using the "Verizon email site" as too much monkey motion to get to mail, but that's what we have been doing.  I even tried setting up a GMail account, again got mail still could not send.  Any ideas?

    Thank you for your response!  I even tried sending an email via dos prompt  with Telnet, got past "HELO", but when trying to get a  "RCPT TO"  (using outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net)  I got an "authorization required" response and then was dropped.  I have been passed around without a solution. I am about ready to change ISP, but really hate to as most of the time (years now) this has been a decent ISP. If Verizon is having a problem just say so, I can handle it, honesty would be nice, refreshing and not wasting so much of my time as well as the techs!
