Emailing a PDF Form

Hi everyone,
I have created a form using Acrobat Pro XI. The form is viewed in Reader by end users which they can complete and save.
At the bottom of the form I have 3 buttons. Save Form, Print Form , Clear Form. They are all working fine.
I would now like to add an extra button called Send Form that enables end users to send their completed form to the appropriate recipients. If possible I would like the following steps to occur
User clicks Send Form
Outlook (or other mail software) opens a new email
To: field is automatically populated with email addresses eg say Payroll and Finance
Subject: line is Populated with Staffing Action Form - [Action Requested] - [Employee Name]
Attachment Field; contains the attached completed Staffing Action Form
In the message body the text The attached Staffing Action Form has been completed and submitted for action.
* The [Action Requested] is a drop down field within the form
* The [Employee Name] is a text field in the form
Also is it possible to send the email to different recipients based on what has been selected through the [Action Requested] value via an If Else or Case statement?
Is there anyone with experience in sending PDF forms as email attachments that could assist me with the script for this please?
Many thanks
Michael

What you describe is possible by scripting.
You can read about the "mailDoc" method at:
http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.505.html
As a first step, have a look at this tutorial:
http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/dynamically-setting-submit-e-mail-address
You can download the example and adapt the script to your file.

  • Can't send a PAGES document Via email in PDF form ... used to be done by clicking share and PDF  HELOP

creating a document on pages and trying to share it via email in PDF form used to be really easy...
How does this work now?  help

I always just do file->print. Then in the lower left is a menu that said "PDF" and just pick "Mail PDF" from the dropdown and a new email is composed with the PDF attached. One step to print, one click to choose mail and you're done. I just tried this on the latest Yosemite and Pages updates and it works fine.

  • I need instructions on how to create a button that will email a pdf form to someone else on a websit

I NEED ASSISTANCE CREATING A BUTTON THAT WILL EMAIL A PDF FORM FROM A WEBSITE TO WHOEVER THE VIEWER WANTS TO

Just a bit more info. E-mail can be used, but has potential problems -- often related to the client machine that you have no control over. Use the data submissions (either FDF or XML) rather than the full PDF so you do not have to deal with Reader Rights and the related license issues. The FDF and XML data files are easily imported into the original form so that you see what the client sees. With those aspects in mind, just go ahead and try one. Be aware that you can add form fields using the form tools in the Advanced Editing tools, OR use the forms menu that will take you to Designer. You might want to try both to see the pros and cons. Be sure to keep such a test simple so you are not wasting time on your final form just for testing. I typically create a 1 page form that has all of the possible fields for such a test.

  • Emailing a PDF form w/o an email address submit button

I have created a form; but my company does not want it to go to specific email address. So I took out the submit button. What they want is for people to be able to fill in the PDF form and send it to whomever they choose via email. BUT in reader, they cannot save the PDF. What do I need to do to get this to work correctly?
    Thanks!
    Diana

    I had the same request.
All i did was leave the email address blank. On the "Design View", it will show an error but the employee will not see this. They can then just enter an email address.

  • Ipad email and PDF Forms

So I am sending Acro Forms to the iPad. Single page PDF forms open in the body of the email and when I send them to PDF Expert from the email client, they are broken when I try and send them back via the email button in the form. Multi-page PDF's do not open in the email preview body and they work in PDF Expert and email recipients. Conclusion: PDF Preview on iPAD breaks Acro Forms.
    Thoughts?

  • How do i email a pdf form

How do I email a filled out PDF Form?  I can fill it out, but Adobe keeps asking me for $$ to send it.

That may be the way that the forum was designed... if there's a "submit" button (or something akin to it) on the form, you may be able to send the data collected on the filled-out form but not be able to save the form with the filled-in data.
Is there a submit button or the like on the forum?

  • I emailed a PDF form and when the receiver opens it, the document has errors on it. How do I fix this problem?

I emailed a PDF file and when the receiver opened it there were errors in the file. Words on the document appeared different and weren't what they were supposed to be. How do I fix this problem?

What did the errors say? Can you post a copy of the pdf so we can test out. The presets embed the font, but might be a unicode issue, or one of the few fonts which are copyrighted and do not allow embedding.
What application was the pdf was created from, what settings were used, and if you can outline the fonts. What font or font(s) are the ones reflowing?

  • Email editable PDF form

We're on 46c and currently using an existing sapscript to generate and email PDF output. The new requirement is to make this form editable so that certain fields (say comments) can be updated in adobe and later printed/emailed.
Is it possibile without actually installing the 'Interactive Forms by Adobe'? Your valued experience and hints is appreciated in advance.

If you want to connect in any way with the SAP backend (in- or outbound), you will have to install SAP Interactive Forms. To generate interactive PDFs, you need a server component.
The stand-alone Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 or higher offers what you are looking for in part. Your issue would be to get the data from SAP into Acrobat.

  • How to cc email a PDF form

I have read all of the posts about this issue and followed all of the steps and I have a weird outcome.
I have a form with a button set up to submit PDF via email. In the object palette in the URL field it's set to
    mailto:[email protected]?cc=[email protected]
However when I click the submit form button it opens up my mail and puts the personONE email in both the "TO" and "CC" fields.
So the cc coding is working but it's not grabbing the right address...any thoughts I have a deadline of TODAY to get this to work!! Uggh!

  • Emailing Adobe PDF Form Problem

I have created a fillable form in Adobe Acrobat Pro v9 and I want to be able to send it individually to people to complete and email back to me in order to gather data. I'm testing it and it will not allow the recipient to save the file using Adobe Reader once they've completed it in order to email it back. I have enabled the Extended Features for Reader, but that has not solved the problem. Is there any way I can do what I'm needing using just Adobe Acrobat? After doing some research I discovered LiveCycle, but I work on a Mac and I don't see that they have a Mac version. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

  • How can I get a PDF form to email to me when it is hosted online?

Ok, I'm not a coding expert, but I understand CSS and html alright.
I am trying to create a PDF form for my website: www.pantherapressdesign.com.
I have already created the forms (they are under the purchase section of the site) and when they are saved to the harddrive they work just fine. HOWEVER, when you fill them out and they open in the browser they will not submit to me (aka. I don't get them by email, even though the submit button correctly re-directs you to the thanks page).
In the fuctions of the submit button I have it set to mailto:[email protected]
When the form is saved on the hard drive (I open it from the desktop) and click submit it brings up a dialog box and asks me how I want to send it. I then choose desktop mail service, it opens it in an email and sends it.
I want customers to be able to click the form from the website - fill it out right there in the browser - and then be able to submit it to me that way.
I am assuming I must route this through the php or something, but am not sure how to do that. I have the php working for the contact from on the website, but I don't know php so I used pre-written code to do that. Is there some simple code I can drop into my php that will handle these forms? Help, please! Thanks

I looked at the Stationary form, and there are a number of things you need to change. It is currently set up to submit as "HTML", as opposed to FDF, XFDF, or the entire PDF. This is fine if you're submitting the form to a web server, which can read the field data, place it in an email, and send it off. This is actually much preferred to relying on the user's machine being set up properly to send an email. Many are not and not receiving order that someone thought was submitted will be bad for your business. Consider removing the existing forms today and you can update when they are working.
Your web hosting service likely has a PHP script that is designed to work with HTML forms and send an email with the form data included. This can work with a PDF form if the form is correctly set up. To do that, you will need to know how the script works and what it is expecting in the way of form data when it processes a submission. The PHP script should also be modified to send an appropriate response back to the user, which can be a simple redirect. The way you have it now with a link to the redirect page is wrong. It goes there whether the form is complete or not and whether the email actually got sent. This can be avoided by having the web server take care of this.
If you don't have the expertise to modify the form to suit the PHP script and PHP script to suit the workflow, you'll need to find someone who does.
