Emailing a .swf file of a banner ad with an embeded video.

Hey all,
New to flash and building banner ads.  My problem is that I have made a banner ad that works when I preview it but when I try sending it to someone else via email all that shows up are 5 white circles in the middle that rotate flashing.  I thought it might have been something with the video so I tried sending the ad without the video and it still did the same thing.  Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Wes

Basically I am sending a banner ad to a company for their website...When I send it (just attaching the .swf file to an email, not embedding within the email or anything special) the only thing they see is five white rings on a black stage.
The only thing I need within the actionscript would be the banner ID for the receiver's website so they can link my ad to my website. For not I am leaving that out so there is nothing within actionscript.
Thanks.

    is there any example of javaFX which can display swf files or have a datagrid with paging.
    sorry for my bad english and by the way i am new to javaFX

    Please, refrain from posting identical messages in several forums. Thanks.
    And I doubt JavaFX can display SWF files (it is a concurrent technology, after all! :-)), unless using some JNI/JNA technology (via JDIC? a long way...).
    Datagrid: it is expected in next version (hopefully), there are some implementations around (look for CRUDfx, for example).

    i met this error every time if i compile a "BIG " project.(with 1G+  image resources).   And also ,if you  import 500+ images into Flash CS ...you  know ,its prefix is  "Adobe".
    i guess , it's  because somebody not like "BIG " thing.
    So..on  32bit windows  platform ..i  upgrade my JVM to  1.7 ,and..modified  -XSS value . it will help us ..but not 100% resolved.
    Finally ,i upgrade to  64bit platform ..this problem seems  gone.
    I think ,it's  because of the bad RAM Manager  of  JVM. on 32bit windows machine .it's only can manager 1024M ram .(such a stupid VM).   And  on 64bit platform ..JVM seems  to be d normal.

  • Nikon D3300 NEF files not importing into iPhoto with Yosemite. Videos import, photos come in black

    I'm having issues importing NEF (Raw) photos since I upgraded to Yosemite. I also updated iPhoto to the most current version. The videos will import, but the photos are coming in black. I can see them in the Nikon photo viewer on the Mac with no issues.

    There are a series of posts on the forum right now detailing issues with Raw support. By no means all folks have them - I don't for instance - but many seem to.
    Try the fix in this thread
    RAW files suddenly show up as "not supported" (Aperture 3.5.1, OS X 10.10)
    which basically trashes the Raw support and reinstalls it on your Mac.
    As always, back up first,

  • How to generate SWF file with dynamic data but no live connection

    Hello,
    We got a requirement where we have to email out SWF file either in PPT or outlook generated from BOBJ universe. When the file reaches the customer who would be outside our network with no access to our servers or data should be able to view the swf file with data. So the goal is to generate these files automatically and should not prompt for BOBJ login or wouldn't have ability to query the database but need to report data pertaining to the customer.
    Any help in this regards is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Manohar

    Hi Manohar,
    You can use QAAWS(query as a web services) and build your queries on universe.
    You get an option of hardcoding the user id and password in the data connection for QAAWS which will not asks the users for login credentials.
    This will hepl the user to veiw the latest data from the database and the user wont be asked for login too.
    Thanks,
    Amit.

  • How to play a swf file without a browser

    I know it sounds bizzare, but not all machine have a
    compatible browser installed. I was using flash player stand alone
    version for playback of swf files. But, flash player 9 will only
    install if I have a browser installed.
    I can still play swf file on a machine with a browser, but
    the swf file does not come in with a built in playback control, so
    I have to watch the video without a playback control.
    Is there anyway I can download a standalone version of
    flashplayer, just like flashplayer 5.

  • Linking URLs to InDesign CS5 exported .swf files

    I primarily work in print design, but I've exported a few animated .swf files of web banner ads from InDesign CS5, and the folks on the receiving end can't use them because they're unable to link them to a URL (in whatever manner they're able to with other Flash files). I was hopeful that I could open the files in Flash and edit them there, but it seems not to be an editable file. It's been pretty frustrating watching work go down the drain and people have to settle for less glamorous static ads. Does anybody know a solution?

    I think I may have responded to this in the community help section, but I'll repeat what I said there. InDesign has some impressive Flash capabilities but using it to create an entire website....no, not a good idea at all.
    The size of the SWF files is a major issue and they are quite simply not suitable for this purpose. Additionally, an entire website in Flash is an SEO nightmare so it won't matter how long it takes to load since nobody is likely to find it.
    Flash should be used judiciously on the web. In fact, I never use it. All that said, the only advice I can offer if you decide to ignore the rest of it, is to export to FLA, open it in Flash Professional and finish it up there.

  • Date Related swf files

    Hi, I'm new to dreamweaver flash and have just created a swf file as a banner for my school web site. (www.dectc.bham.sch.uk). I would like to be able to automatically change the banner at different times of the year. E.g Snow for winter months, blossom for spring etc. Is there any way this can be done in dreamweaver or do I need to use other software? Any help would be appreciated.

    If you created the banner in Flash, that is a good place to create your seasonal displays and control them.  Using Flash actionscript you can use the Date class to determine what time of year it is and what visual should be displaying.  Each different display could be a different movieclip so you just control which one is being displayed based on the date.

  • Firefox will not load my swf file. Runs perfectly in all other browsers. Help!

    I've developed a website (www.fit-mamas.com.au) whereby you click on the black & white image and get a pop-up window running a video. The video is an .flv file running via a .swf file loaded from an html file. The .swf file was produced using Flash CS3. The video loads perfectly in all browsers except for Firefox which just displays a blank screen with video controls. I've been researching online for hours, as this problem is a common one, but nobody else's solutions are working for me. Any help would be appreciated. My code is as follows:
    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0"

  • Pass filename as a variable to a swf file

    I want to pass a variable which will represent a filename to
    a swf file from a hypertext link in an HTML document.
    When the user clicks on the link which has
    ?variablename=filename_to_use appended to a "normal" link to a
    page,
    this variablename will be passed to the swf file.
    I've already created this target swf file to have an
    actionscript with a FLVPlayComponent with the filename hard-coded
    in the actionscript. I want the actionscript to use the variable
    representing the filename_to_use that was passed to from the URL
    line.
    The following is the actionscript that plays the flv file
    taken from the Flash Help: Creating an Application with an
    FLVComponent
    ORIGINAL VERSION:
    import mx.video.*;
    this.attachMovie("FLVPlayback", "my_FLVPlybk", 10,
    {width:320, height:240, x:100, y:100});
    my_FLVPlybk.skin = "file:///install_drive|/Program
    Files/Macromedia/Flash
    8/en/Configuration/Skins/ClearOverPlaySeekMute.swf"
    my_FLVPlybk.contentPath = "
    http://www.helpexamples.com/flash/video/water.flv";
    VERSION USING THE FILENAME FROM THE PASSED VARIABLE INSTEAD
    OF WATER.FLV
    import mx.video.*;
    this.attachMovie("FLVPlayback", "my_FLVPlybk", 10,
    {width:320, height:240, x:100, y:100});
    my_FLVPlybk.skin = "file:///install_drive|/Program
    Files/Macromedia/Flash
    8/en/Configuration/Skins/ClearOverPlaySeekMute.swf"
    my_FLVPlybk.contentPath = "
    http://www.helpexamples.com/flash/video/variable";
    I currently can play videos with this actionscript at my
    school website but must make a separate swf for each video.
    I want to be able to have one swf file that will play which
    video was passed from the link in the HTML page.
    I am using HTML page to lower the bandwidth so that users
    won't have to load a swf file to see curricular material and then
    perhaps choose a video on the topic.

    click the link to the Spring curriculum map with resources
    and then click on e.g. The_Food_Web video

Since the procedure wrapped in a function is a procedure, it therefore implicitly have side effects.

  • Using a swf file as a wallpaper - E51

    I have a nice swf file which is a clock with date - on an S40 phone I can install the swf file as a wallpaper, anyone know how i can install it as a wallpaper on the S60 E50? - its in a folder where I can play the swf file and it plays Fine but under options there is nothing to say "use as walpaper"  - can anyone help please?
    Many thanks,
    Andy.

    1) I also think it's much better to keep your images separate from your XML, this prevents a lot of in case you just want to read XML data
    2) What's exactly going wrong here? For the project.xml, make sure it's not inside a directory within the JAR file, or else the variable i will be null. Otherwise it looks fine..

  • FullScreenButton in SWF file in an HTML Page

    I have inserted a small video as a SWF file into my homepage along with Play, Pause, FullScreen and Mute buttons (loaded from the Flash Components panel). The Play, Pause and Mute buttons work fine. But when I click on the FullScreen Button nothing happens. It won't open the SWF video in a new page at full resolution. Any suggestions?

    your embedding html code must allow fullscreen.  if you let flash publish an html file for you and you change your publish settings to allow fullscreen, you'll see what's needed.

  • Swf files wrongly linked in Mac info 'Open With'

    Together with others I have had a serious problem opening swf files with Flash Player. I hope this will help some of you and challenge Adobe to get their act together since this ought not so to be.
    1. Background: As you may know, Flash Player 10 is not a stand along but only for web use (a plug in). One must keep or download the latest Flash Player 9 in order to play stand along swf docs. Had Adobe explained this clearly at the get-go it would have saved much frustration.
    2. Together with others, some very strange things have happened to what was an automatic double-click=open option. In my Mac Info (on file) dialogue box many of my older swf files appear as programs with which I can open any swf doc. In fact, *all* of my hundreds of stand alone swf files are now set to open with some other swf doc (!) meaning that that doc appears and not the doc I am opening. It looks like the swf file has been recognized as a program rather than a simple swf file.
    3. After much frustration, I tried to set Flash Player 9 in the Mac 'Info' dialogue box and then choose 'Change All,' but this is not allowed. It keeps wanting to open my swf with some other swf doc listed in the Info. I then changed each doc separately via the Mac Info dialogue box. This finally stuck ... but when I tried to Change All again with a doc set to open with Flash Player 9, everything returned set to open with some random swf file listed in the 'Open with' dialogue box (and these swf files should not be listed there as programs).
    4. This entire confusion makes me think that the Adobe/Apple conflict is somehow coming into play here. Who is to blame I do not know, but I wish Adobe would address this since we how have used Flash to create very complex and beautiful swf docs for the classroom now have to open each doc by dragging it to the Flash Player in the dock, and this means that we must explain this to any user.
    5. Summary: For whatever reason 'Open With' is confused, I should be able to correct the problem with choosing Flash Player 9 and then click 'Change All.' Can anyone tell me what is going on and how to solve this?
    PS: This is happening to others whose Macs are totally separate from mine.

    Hi seaslug and welcome to our community
    I would think you could test the connectivity by playing them
    locally to ensure they work. If the files all work fine on your
    local PC, try copying them to a web server that isn't using SSL. If
    they work fine there, then try the SSL. Basically, you want to pare
    away the layers in order to see where things fall apart.
    You may also wish to double check to ensure that all the
    necessary files exist in the output folder. For example, maybe
    someone forgot to include the associated HTM files. Things like
    that.
    Hopefully something here was helpful... Rick

  • Edit .swf file in dreamweaver cs3

    hi frends i am new to adobe flash. I am using dreamweaver to edit a .swf flash file.I selected the flsh in design window then selected the "edit" button.The adobe flash cs3 opened it but i want to edit this flash. Please tell me how to edit it as i am only displayed with the flash in a window. how t edit its components like adding new pics to it or making other changes to it.

    A .swf file can´t be edited with e.g. Flash CS3, because this type of file is the "end product" which is generated when exporting your work from Flash (File -> Export -> Export Movie...)
    What you´ll need instead is the corresponding Flash "source file", which has the file extension .fla -- and this type of file is usually editable from Dreamweaver,

  • Loading swf file with dynamic text

    For a website I'm creating I'm going to have a main swf file
    that loads individual swf files for each page. Each page's swf file
    loads in external text files through dynamic text boxes so i can
    edit the website easily. To load the swf files into the main swf
    file I'm using the loader component. Everything works fine except
    thedynamic text boxes of the swf files that are nestled in the main
    one do not load properly. Instead, in each text box i get a message
    similar to this:
    _level0.NewsLoader.contentHolder.News1
    NewsLoader is the instance of the loader component, and News1
    is a variable called in through a dynamic text field from the html
    document entitled News1.html. The individual news swf file loads
    the text properly, but when the news swf file is loaded into the
    main swf file the text is replaced with the message above.
    Any suggestions?

    the problem might be due to the changed references if you
    load the movie into another one.
    is NewsLoader a MovieClip instance inside the main movie or
    inside the mc that is loaded into the main movie?
    If it resides inside the exteranly loaded movie, you will
    either need to use the lockroot attribute or use a relative
    reference to the News1 variable.
    Since the _level0 always points to the _root timeline (the
    one of the outer most movieclip) _level0 used in the external mc is
    different once the external movieclip is loaded into another movie.
    I suggest only using relative references, makes live much
    easier.
