Emailing from Pages

I am trying to send email directly from Pages, as I am able to do in Word, but I don't find an easy way to do this. When I go to services, I find a "Mail" tab, but it's grayed out and useless. Any tips would be welcomed.

You can't e-mail a Pages document directly from Pages. For several reasons this wouldn't be a good idea.
A Pages document is not just a document, it's a package, a special kind of folder. Folders cannot be e-mailed but must be compressed first. Apple Mail will do this automatically, other e-mail clients don't.
The recipient must be using Pages. Pages is a Mac-only application & is limited to newer Macs at that. Since the vast majority of computer users don't even use a Mac, it's unlikely they'd be able to open your document.

Opening documents in Open Office emailed from Pages

Has anyone had a similar problem to me - documents mailed from Pages to my email account on my iMac cannot be opened in the current version of Open Office. They cause it to crash!

I own Documents to Go and I use it to get documents from my computer to my ipad and my Touch. It is 9.99 I think (you can find it in the app store) and then you can download a control panel for your computer that allows you to pair the devices and designate a 'sync folder'. THen you can edit on your pc/mac (pretty sure their desktop has a mac version) or your device and sync between the two. You can also have a 'local files' folder so you can put things on your device that don't have to be sync'd (say something you just want for reference).
I'm sure there are other programs out there that will do the same/similar, but Docs to Go is the one I have experience with and know that it works. You can also look in the app store for some sort of document reader. For example, with iBooks, you can put .pdf files on your device and read them - although you can't edit them.

Trouble emailing from pages

I can't email a document from Pages in any form when it used to work
every time.

Does the file have any characters other than letters, numbers, hyphens & underscores in the name? That is a common cause for e-mailing from the Share menu to not work.

When needing to send an email from Pages a new email document does not come up. PDF

When needing to send email document from Pages when I hit Share, send via email then PDF no new email document comes up. Please advise.

Chances are you have an "illegal" character in the file name such as a / or *.

Email from pages not being sent

I have tried to send three emails with word attachments from Pages without any being sent successfully. I have received two messages:
1. Receipient rejected by server ; and
2. Content of email not sent
Can anyone please assist, please.

It could be that the size o fthe attachment is too large and the server used by the reciever rejects it. It could be you have the wrong address (not as likely). I'd try the following:
1) send a short email with no attachment to xxx.
2) send a short email with a small file attached to xxx.
3) send an email with the file you tried to send previously to xxx.
Which of these works, which don't?

Email from Pages

I had not tried to e-mail from Pages for some time but see it is now not available. If you do not want to go via the cloud but just attach the document to an e-mail and send how can this be done from the Pages application or do you need to create a new e-mail and manually attach the needed Pages document?
Any insight appreciated.

Pages '09 v4.2 and v4.3 offer e-mail from the Pages menu via Share. These will automatically attach your current opened document in a choice of .pages, .doc, or .pdf files to the e-mail. It is an individual decision whether one uses this method, or creates a new e-mail and includes attachment(s) via drag and drop, or the attachment button in the composition window.

What fruhulda said. In addition, in the Mail composition window, I recommend that you select the paperclip icon from the Toolbar, and enable Send Windows-Friendly Attachments.
You can also select multiple files in the Finder and drag them onto the composition window. In my experience, the documents resist an iconic state, so right-click on just one, and choose View as Icon from the contextual menu. This will transform all attached documents into icons.
If you want to send just one document from within Pages v5, use the Share icon in the Toolbar and select Send a Copy > Email. You can then choose PDF (and its image quality), or Word (.docx default, or .doc) document formats that will be attached as an icon in a new pop-up Email composition window.

I have updated my iPad 1 to iOS 5.1.1 and I am trying to email a document from pages but it has changed and I don't know how to email directly from pages anymore can someone please help ?

Hi Lila,
Bring up the document you want to email, and tap the wrench in the upper right-hand corner. Under that Tools icon you will see several options, select Share and Print.
Select Email Document
Then select the document format you wish to send the document in: Pages, PDF, or Word
Tap on one, and the document will format into that selection, and then take you to a blank email page with the document attached and ready to go!

Sending email from numbers pages pics etc... Goes to out box

When sending an email from pages,numbers, pictures etc. it is going to out box and staying there... Help? When email composed and sent from mail it sends just fine.

A new behavior has emerged after updating to OS X 10.6.8. Trying to email from pages by typing Share, Send via Email, PDF (or Pages or Word) and nothing happens. This used to work fine. Thoughts?

I'm not sure that it's related to 10.6.8 as it might be due to an iWork '09 update, but you can't use the share menu to e-mail a document with a slash or other "illegal" character in the name.

Use automator to send document from pages directly in outlook

send an email from pages directly in Outlook Even though Outlook is selected as the default reader, Mail opens to send a document directly out of Pages. Is it possible to set up a service in Automator to use Outlook instread of Mail? Or is there another solution?

Cannot send email from scanned pages

I am having trouble with the updated HP remote app on Ipad, since the update I can scan the pages in, but then cannot send them via email. This is qute important because i work remotley from the office and rely on getting my design drawings in on a nightly basis

I keep getting this.
The Bank and Paypal states that Adobe needs to process my transaction twice.
I have no order number/ no status nor contact from Adobe. I called customer service and he transferred me to sales where the phone rang with no answer.

Emailing individual Pages from a Pages doc?

I am mebership secretary of an organisation. Next month I have to send individual invoices to over 100 members. to create personalised invoces, I set up the invoice in Pages and then used Numbers to merge individual members' names, addresses, etc into this document.
Last year I was working on a PC and with Word and Excel and there was an option to email individual pages from the Word doc. It was easy and quick to send out all the invoices.
However, in Pages, it only offers merge to a new document or to the printer. Even if there was a was a way of being able to quickly separate each page (ie individual invoice) from the one Pages doc, I could individually send the emails, but it looks as if separating the pages will be long and laborious.
It has to be easy and straightforward - ie not using Apple script (if at all possible), as whoever takes over this role from me - and who may not be so computer savvy, will need to be able to do this job easily.
Grateful for any suggestions.

Go ahead and Print the Pages document to PDF > Open in Preview.
Make sure that you are viewing the thumbnails in the Sidebar.
1. Click on a page thumbnail in the Sidebar of the PDF document, visually confirm the content, Command-C to Copy.
2. File > New From Clipboard
3. File > Mail Document.
Repeat steps 1-3 for each page you wish to mail.

Firefox diverts most new windows to tabs, but there is an exception when a website uses a script to specify the window's dimensions or removes some toolbars. To remove the exception, you can make a change under the covers. This could be awkward for genuine dialog windows that don't make sense to view in a separate tab, but if you find it more annoying than useful, you can easily switch back.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(3) Confirm that the '''browser.link.open_newwindow''' preference is set to its default value of 3 (divert new windows to a tab instead), or right-click > Reset to get that value
(4) Double-click the '''browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction''' preference and change the value from 2 to 0 (that's a zero) and click OK

For future reference, the possible values for the window/tab preferences are:
(A) browser.link.open_newwindow
3 = divert new window to a new tab (default) (checked*)
2 = allow link to open a new window (unchecked*)
1 = force new window into same tab
* First checkbox in Options > Tabs
(B) browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction - for links in Firefox tabs
0 = apply the setting under (A) to ALL new windows (even script windows)
2 = apply the setting under (A) to normal windows, but NOT to script windows with features (default)
1 = override the setting under (A) and always use new windows
(C) browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external - for links in other programs
-1 = apply the setting under (A) to external links (default)
3 = open external links in a new tab in the last active window
2 = open external links in a new window
1 = open external links in the last active tab replacing the current page
