Embedded Image Class Instantiating Error

Hi,
I have an embeded image class. When trying to create an instance of this Class object, a "Type Coercion failed" error came up. I've included my code below. If someone would enlighten me on the right way to do that I would appreciate it.

Extending Image class and addChild errors

I am attempting to extend the Image class to allow us to place highlights over an image that are stored in an XML file.
I'm extending the class and adding the highlights to a sprite. I use the addChild() method to add the sprite to the Image class, but I get the error "addChild() is not available in this class. Instead, use addElement() or modify the skin, if you have one."
I try to use the addElement but that gives me compile errors..
anyone have any idea what to do? I'm trying to copy/paste the class code here, but its not working (no idea how to make it work)

Update to last posting,
Since the Primtive Class is extending Group I just added TransformGroup to it. To this TransformGroup object I add 4 TransformGroup objects and it all works fine. I was able to rotate all the 4 triangles at different rates.

Now I just want to shift the centre of rotation of all the triangles to the center and rotate the TOP and Bottom triangles along the x-axis.
Assume I just have to add these operations to a TransformGroup above a single shape which is a single triangle. How do I do it. I know the answer is really simple but it beats me.

Embedded image in html body of the email is not appearing in Outlook mail box

According to your description, you'd like to send a email with an embedded image in the signature.
I suggest you sending the image in the last of the body of email instead of operating the signature of email.

Emdedding swf file as class throws error while previewing the component

Dear all,
I am using Flex SWFLoader to load an animated swf file and added it as a component in xcelsius by add on manager. When i click preview button it throws the folloing error.
TypeError: Error #2023: Class must inherit from Sprite to link to the root.
I am embedding swf file by using the following lines of code
Embed('Animation_1.swf')
public var Animation:Class;
Then i tried to create my class by extending Sprite, i got the same error,
Can you please anyone help me to solve this issue, all i need is the way to emded the swf file as class and using it in xcelsius. The embedded swf class is working fine alone (that is outside to the xcelsius).

Hi
To embed a .swf file in xcelsius using SWFLoader, you have to pass the path of that swf file to the source property of SWFLoader.
By using class concept xcelsius does not get the path of the swf file you have embeded.
In flex It gets that file because that swf file is present in the same directory as your application.

OBIEE v11.1.1.5 - Cannot view embedded images ( PDF/HTML)

Hi Everyone,
I have a OBIEE 11g report with embedded images and I scheduled to run every week using an agent.
When I specify Delivery content and format as ( PDF or Plain HTML ) the email does not display any images
Error if format is HTML : The linked image cannot be displayed. The File moved,renamed, or deleted. Verify that the link points to the correct file and location.
I also tried printing to pdf, but images are not displayed.
Tried using both fmap and html syntax to link images. Has any one encountered this issue in v 11.1.1.5 ?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

Embedded images replaced with blue square/question mark

Guys,
Am new to Macs so it's probably user error however, I regularly receive mails with embedding images in them. On my PC I had they came in fine however on my new Mac all the images get stripped out of the e-mail and saved as attachments. This means all the image place holders in the mail show as small blue squares with a white question mark in them and doing quick look on the attachments shows the correct images!
Is there a config setting that stops mail stripping the images off as attachments when they're "in" an e-mail??
Hope someone can help as this is bugging me now!!

Don't know if this suggestion will help but..........
I experienced problems with attaching images to outgoing mail. When I did this with my new iMac (OSX 10.4.11) the attached files were replaced with a blue square containing a question mark.
I browsed various forums and found quite a few references to the same problem and I tried all the various 'fixes' to no avail.
Earlier today I called Apple's tech support and spoke with Mujahid. He went through the problem, established that it was 'system wide' on my iMac and then he suggested that I trash Mail (v2.1.2) and re-install Mail (only Mail) from the disks that came with my Mac. I followed his instructions and after a shut down/restart cycle, Mail now functions correctly. When I attach an image file to an outgoing email, the file no longer appears as a blue square with ? mark but as the original image.
I wonder if the same sort of fix might resolve the problems with Safari?

Embedding images into connector.

I've created a custom component that will pop-up to display errors when my connector has problems. After working around some styling limitations within the SDK, I've managed to get everything laid out and working great. Now I'm at the last hurtle.
I've embedded images that will be displayed. For example, an image to represent an error. Now during debugging in Flex Builder, obviously, the image displays. I compile and package up my component and head off to Xcelsius. Now this is when it gets weird.
I'm using Xcelsius Enterprise 5.3.0.0, Build No. 12,3,0,670
I add in my connector to a dashboard, and then press "Preview" (no configuration needed, as i just display a test message for now).
The dashboard comes up, the test message is displayed, but no image is present.
Now i click on "Preview" again to get back into the designer. Then i press preview again without making any other clicks or changes to the dashboard. Now i'm presented with a dashboard, the message pops up, and my image is clearly visible.
The image is consistently not displayed on the very first preview of the dashboard. And it's consistently displayed in the second and any future previews of the dashboard.

In Mail, I can not see any embedded image. The attached images no problem, but the ebedded are seen as a blue square with a question mark.
No newsletter visible.
I have checked the "view remote images on HTML messages", but , .....nothing

I think I discovered the answer which, if true, was a real coincidence. Just at the time that I was getting the "No error" message each time I tried to go into the tracking site, I noticed that the Apple Store was down. As soon as it came up, I was able to get into the tracking site. I am sure this was the problem but it sure was strange how everything came together.

Illustrator CC opens file showing missing embedded images. Illustrator 5.1 opens same file fine with no missing images.

How do I get CC to open these files correctly? Is the client saving them incorrectly?
My work around has now become a pain & I need to know why Illustrator CC tells me most/all embedded images are missing in files received by clients.
Illustrator 5.1 opens the files ok & gives me no errors. It does a few funky things because ti says the file was produced with a new version. The file previews fine in the Finder window & shows all images. The issue with opening them in 5.1 is it wants to open 1 page at a time like the AI file is a PDF.
Why is CC failing to recognize the embedded images? Are the images not embedded correctly by the client? Is 5.1 pulling from some lower res version of the images? Files export from 5.1 as hires. Stumped.
Oh my gosh why arent they just using InDesign. : (

Please get informed about how Illustrator saves files and what exactly is in a file and how it is re-opened.

When in Illustrator CS5, Illustrator actually opens the PDF part of the file that contains all the images. Always.
When in Illustrator CC, Illustrator accesses the AI part of the file, which doesn't necessarily contain the images.

How To: Using Embedded Images for Drawing Fills

I had some challenges making this seemingly simple feature work, so as I found no examples, I made an example on how to do this. The key I found was using the “BitmapAsset” class which is compatible with posting our embedded image into BitmapData objects. That put things together.

Are you certain the original files were any better?
My preferred method of doing this works well, but it takes a few extra steps. I'd make a high-res PDF out of the PM file, then pick apart the PDF to extract the graphics. Are the graphics raster or vector? If they're raster, you can use Acrobat's Touch-up Object tool to open them in Photoshop. If they're vector, you can open the PDF in Illustrator and save out the graphics from there.

How to insert embedded image into TextArea htmlText (and add IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR listener).

I unsuccessfully tried to find way to insert embedded image into TextArea via <img> tag. Can you point me out how to do this?
Also, please, tell me how to handle IOErrorEvent from TextArea because adding IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR listener to TextArea doesn't cause any effect when image url of img tag has not been found.

Messenger Express 6 Unable to display embedded images

Hi
Messenger Expresss seems tob unable to display embedded images (gif or jpeg) in the form cid:image.gif and some hosted images. In reference to the the cid:image.gif , when I open the email get an error from the browser that states "Warning: the application cid must be lauched to view this file." or something close to that. It gives me a choice of opening "cid" or canceling. There is also a check box "remember my choice for all files." which I choose and then I get an email full of broken image links.
I've tried this in Firefox and IE the routine is a bit different but the result is the same. No images displayed.
I also used a netflix email I recieved.. some of the images displayed some did not. The ones that did display were from www.netflix.com some of the others hosted on an image server somewhere in the netflix namespace did not.
I'm at a loss. If anyone can shed some light on this I'd be very thankful

I was speaking about what client created the original mail messate.
The "error message" isn't very useful. Is the mail message itself is badly formed, then the problem lies with the client that created it.
You should be able to tell from the headers of the message.
If you have the message file on disk, examine it with a text editor. "Message file on disk" means the original file, as stored on the server as a xxx.msg file, not what any client might save to a local disk.
When we work these kinds of things as tech support cases, we start out with this file.
I have no idea what gmail does, so that's not really relevant.
Your IMAP client may be better at displaying badly formed messages than webmail is.

Problem with embedding images in a textField

I am trying to embed images in an html text field.
I am using the following in the txt file that gets loaded
into the html text box, but the image does not show up.
<img src='art_home.jpg'>
art_home.jpg is the linkage id.
I have also tried it with a movie clip, but it would not work
either.
What am I doing wrong? Where could I start to look? I am
somewhat lost on this...

reports errors loading the images. I thought I was reading that I
could substitute src path to an image, with a linkage ID in the
library. Is that not the case?

Drag n Drop with Non-embedded Images?

All of the Drag 'n Drop demos use an embedded image. For
example:

And that works. However, this doesn't work:

Go to analysis mode in your workbook.
a) Select your analysis grid.
At general tab -> activate "apply formatting" and "allow navigation".
