Embedding Edge code into Kentico CMS

We would like to implement Adobe Edge into our current CMS (Kentico). Our developer is telling us that Edge creates too many files to upload for it to be effective in our CMS. Can anyone give any insight on embedding Edge files into a CMS? I assume it can be done. Please let me know if more information is needed.

I think when you have uploaded the edge files to CMS, CMS must have its own directory structure where it segregates the various files as per its type.
Can you share the directory structure of where the CMS is putting the edge files?
We might have to modify the edge js files as per the directory structure.

Been asked to try and embed this into the pages of a DPS document for extra tracking - or so I am told, however it seems to
hang the upload process to DPS, well completely bombs Indesign, when this is placed as a Webcontent overlay.

Your advice at least stopped the crashing, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be sending any values. Basically what we are looking for is a static value to be fired into the Custom Variables ideally via the Content Views Event if not then via a Custom Event. Any clues how can we make this happen? I have set all the interactions up on the overlay that seem relevant, is there something else we need to be doing to see the variables in the script?

Embedding c# code into html attachment

Hi,
I am trying to have the HTML and CSS layout within a SharePoint list item attachment. Part of this layout is also adding a C# ImageButton.
I can get the list item attachment contents to load and the CSS and HTML are implemented within my webpart. However I cannot seem to embed (and get to work) the C# code.
I am trying to use the following within my attachment:

such tricks are not available because of security reasons. First of all html files are not processed by aspx handler, second in Sharepoint you need to make additional actions in order to allow server side code even in page layouts which are more safe than
attachments, because are added by users with more permissions. So if it would be possible to write server code in attachments it would be huge security hole. However you may use javascript and client object model.

Need help embedding mailchimp subscription code into dreamweaver.

so I created my page in edge animate, and then I brought it over to adobe dreamweaver, and I dont know where or how to place my embeded mailchimp code?

Ben Thank you so much for your reply! It helped me read the code and made me understand it better. I decided to make my own subscription box by making a symbol "Subscription" and inside this i created two more symbols called "Textbox" and "Submittbutton". I tried putting in part of the code from above under the div id, but it kept creating the whole text box behind the symbols in dreamweaver. How would you suggest I embed the code from above into my created submission box below?

I embedded some HTML code into adobe Muse but not displaying when the pages are Exporting to HTML

I embedded some HTML code into adobe Muse and when I published the remote site on business catalyst the (Add This widget) HTML code shows up but when I exported the site to HTML pages and view the index page in the browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox) the (Add this widget) HTML code wouldn't display on any of the pages. I've used this code before on other Muse sites not sure what could have happened. Thnx!!!

Photoshop or illustrator compositions into edge code

ok so I could have swore I saw someone in an adobe youtube video take an illustrator or photoshop comp and put it into edge code, which in turn wrote the css for him.. it looked like he made what his site should look like in Ai or Ps and then edge code interpreted it into code.. I am a designer and I can write a little code jus not to the extent of what I want the site I;m working on to look like.. is this possible???? or am I losing my mind??

However, "PSD Lens" doesn't automatically convert the whole PSD file into CSS for you in one go -- it just helps you extract targeted styles like gradients and background-image assets while you write the larger-scale CSS structure yourself. If you're not very comfortable writing CSS yet (e.g. creating layouts with CSS), you might have a difficult time using this tool. Another option is to import your Photoshop file into Adobe Edge Reflow, use Reflow to create a resizable/responsive layout structure, and then export your project as HTML & CSS.

I guess I have two answer on two levels. The wordpress plugin (EdgeSuite) allows you to place compositions inline or use iframes, so it is not really plugin vs. iframes.
EdgeSuite brings various benefits (if you ask me):
First of all, it comes down to just uploading stuff, place it, done. No ftp upload, filehandling or whatsoever.
More over that the plugin enables sharing of core edge libraries. E.g. if you place two compositions on a page without modifying them, all the edge libraries (edge.js, jquery, yep, easings...) will be loaded twice as they sit in different directories. Same with viewing compositions on different pages, each composition loads its own set of libraries. 10 different compositions results in 10x loading of all libs. Edge Suite on the other hand alters the path for the resources and places them in one directory. Libs are only loaded once, for the whole page.
If you have a simple website cluttering your webspace at root level might be an option. If you are using a CMS and have 10 compositions that is just awful. EdgeSuite places all composition files in a clean file structure within subfolders, no cluttering.
That's just from the top of my head.
The iframe topic is a bit more difficult. Personally I think iframes are mostly bad practice. It's like in the early days of the web with table layouts and framesets. There are cases where iframes make total sense and are the best way to go and that's why EdgeSuite can also render iframes. But I personally only want to "see" an iframe when there is no other option. If you can do it inline, do it inline. Bad SEO, loading times, semantic fragmentation... security aspects, sandboxing on the other hand are just a couple of the most common arguments. Most of the arguments don't directly apply to the context of Edge Animate, but still... decide for yourself

Web Intelligence: Save Report as PDF and with embedded HTML code

Sorry but I'm not able to find any post about this matter, please feel free to provide links if you know existing topics about this problem.
We created a beautiful report with HTML5 code embedded into a blank cell and we are now trying to export it in a printable format (e.g.: PDF or HTML).
As you know (as per manual information) it is not possible to export a report with embedded HTML code and keeping it in the output (cell with embedded HTML code is rendered blank).
My question is: is there a known workaround or an alternative solution to export the report and keep its content?
Print screen is not a valid option :-P

Embed HTML Code Into Mail?

Hi,
Is it possible to embed HTML code into an Apple Mail message? If it isn't, this would be a really useful feature. Lots of sites now, such as YouTube and Flickr, provide snippets of HTML code that you can copy and paste into your "webpage". But how useful would it be if you could paste this code directly into an e-mail? That way you could do things such as embed a YouTube video into an e-mail, rather than just provide a link to it.

You can do it, but it will not be the easiest thing, and it's generally frowned on, since HTML email is used by spammers and marketers to track whether or not you open their emails. It's much easier and more accepted to just send a link to something you want someone to see; not everyone has time time, patience, or affordable broadband to download a web page with an embedded video window.
You'd have to do the coding yourself, test it to be sure it works when sending and receiving, and then send it to everyone you want to see it. That's a lot of work for no real benefit. According to Apple, Mail in 10.5 allows the sending of HTML using the Stationery feature; have you tested that or checked the Help files for that to see how it's done?

Fluid grid for Wordpress: insert PHP code into DW or DW code into Wordpress?

This may be a stupid question but it's a dilemma for me. Here's the problem. I want to create a mobile first, fluid grid Wordpress website in Dreamweaver CS6 based on an existing Wordpress theme. I can see two ways of doing that:
1) Create a fluid grid layout in DW, then insert the Wordpress PHP code into the right places in DW
Pro: the fluid grid layout is set up by DW and therefore can be easily edited with DW (I imagine)
Con: It is beyond my coding skills to make a fully functional WP template
2) Take an existing responsive Wordpress template with media queries and edit that in Dreamweaver
Pro: I start with a fully functional WP template and only have to make changes (mostly in CSS) to customise it
Con: When I start with an existing template (like Skeleton) I run into trouble using DW
For example: I click a navigation button to get at the CSS but it's not clear to me from DW's interface in which media query I have to make changes. I did a tutorial on creating a fluid grid layout with DW so I can do that. But DW doesn't work the same way with an existing WP template like Skeleton. I searched the web but all I can find is help on creating a fluid layout with DW, not editing an existing one.
By the way, I am experienced with HTML/CSS but not PHP and I have a local Wordpress server running on my Mac so I can work in Dreamweaver's Live View.
The problem may be that I am only just starting with responsive web design and need some more experience with media queries, css rules and DW CS6. Could anyone comment on this problem or point me towards more information on the subject?

You can certainly use DW to customize a 3rd party WP Theme. However, you must be throughly familliar with how WordPress Themes work and have a good working knowledge of HTML, CSS and PHP code. Design View will not be much help to you.
WP Themes are a sum of their various parts: header.php, footer,php, sidebar.php, page.php, index.php, archive.php, etc... The web server parses code from the various parts and creates whole pages on the fly. Once WP is deployed on your server, you cannot use DW to edit content. You must use the WP Admin Panel (CMS) to manage content, Themes, plugins and backup data.
For simple static sites, the FluidGrid Layout feature in DW is a nice starting point. But these layouts have definite limitations which, IMO would not be a good fit with WordPress.

Best way to publish Edge files into html page?

Ok,
So im looking for the best way to add my edge files into my html page.
I want to make it easy to integrate edge with dreamweaver html files, e.g if I change anything in my edge project and publish it I dont need to transfer the html over to my page again.
I thought the best way to do this was put all the edge files into there own folder within my sites_files folder and then use iframe. However when I did this, I can not figure out how to use CSS to style the iframe.
this is what I have tried

Without the iframe my animation is centred in the screen from the CSS with edge html e.g

Created my own subscription box in animate, how to embed the mail code into the symbols?

So i think I am on the right track, I am trying to embed my mailchimp code into my animate site, and I decided to build my own text box and button in animate and convert them into symbols. Both text box and button or inside of a bigger symbol so that they stay in a responisive design. however when I tryin and plug in the mail code it just puts the subscription box behind my symbols. Is this because html code doesnt work in animate or am I just really stupid and am doing it all wrong? Ha probably the second part, . Any help would be great!.

What's happening is that you're inserting static HTML into the base HTML of your current project. We treat any third party static HTML as underneath all managed elements. You can find out whether or not it's being treated as static by hovering over the element in the elements panel:
One thing you can do is to dynamically insert your mailchimp code into a div by changing the html() property of that div using jQuery. So, something like this:

Problems embedding an FLV into the timeline

Hello,
I'm interested in embedding a video into my swf file automatically. Therefore, I managed embedding an flv file onto the stage, but the problem is that after I give the embedded video an instance name and refer to the instance in a command (f.e change x,y coordinates or change width/height), on execution of the swf, the video stays frozen while the audio plays. If I don't refer to the embedded video instance, the video plays normally, just not placed correctly on the stage.
Is there any way to place the video correctly???

The problem here is that I want to automate the creation of the SWF. Therefore, I am using some sort of simulation program which takes control of GUI objects. The only problem I had was controlling the width, height, x and y controls that appear as simple text (not as regular text boxes),
Anyhow, that's why I tried giving the embedded video an <instance name> and editing it through actionscript code of the FLA file. But that gave me the phenomena that I explained where the embedded video is placed & sized correctly, but it appears frozen with audio running normally in the resulting SWF.
I hoped that there's a way to handle this problem (casting to a different object, using a certain function etc.), or that someone is familiar with this phenomena.

P.S - If you want to see the phenomena, take an FLA file and embed it into the timeline on the stage. Later on, give it an <instance name> (via control+F3 to open the properties window of the object). Insert code to the FLA:

<instance name>.y = 0;
<instance name>.width = 100;
<instance name>.height = 200;
You'll see that the video does not play, while the audio is head normally.
