Encoding Problem from Webservice to Weblogic JVM 10.0 to Database
Hi,
I feel we have issue with encoding. We have a value "TESTTESTTEST -TESTÇAO TESTTEST", Clients inject a message with UTF-8 format with this value to our Weblogic servers and these jvm does some businness validation and inserts in to database. In DB the table column is 30 varchar and manually I am able to update the table with this value, but when weblogic is inserting this value we are getting error saying "value too large error to insert TESTTESTTEST -TESTÇAO TESTTEST"
here the special char is changing, I have seen in Weblogic config file the encoding is set to UTF-8 format.
please let me know if u have any idea and issue had similar and how it resolved..
Is this problem is bcoz of jdbc drivers
thanks.

Specify the encoding param in weblogic.xml.
<weblogic-web-app>
<jsp-descriptor>
<jsp-param>
<param-name>encoding</param-name>
<param-value>UTF-8</param-value>
</jsp-param>
</jsp-descriptor>
</weblogic-web-app>

Problem invoking webservice on weblogic managed server
Hi Guys,
I've created a web service using examples the BEA provides. When I deploy my web service on a ADMIN server it works fine. When I depoly my web service on a managed server, my client cannot find the WSDL file suppose to be located on the a managed server's uri
Any suggestion?Found the answer at

I have created Web service VI ("Prikaz insolacije.vi") which has two input string terminals (FROM / TO) for dates and two output terminals for data (1-D array) collected from database (MS SQL server). This VI communicates with database using functions from database palette with appropriate DSN and SQL query. There are two tables with two data columns (Time and Insolation) in Database.
This VI works when you run it in Labview 2010, but when I used it as sub VI in UI builder it doesn't return any data.
Could you please help me find a solution. Is it possible to communicate with SQL server database this way or there is another way?
There are two attachmet files: Image of .vix file in UI builder and .vi file ("Prikaz insolacije.vi")
Please help me ASAP!
Thanks,
Ivan

Problem with errorPage in page directive tag while proxying request from iPlanet to WebLogic
Hi,
We are using iPlanet 4.0 as the webserver and WebLogic 5.1 as the application server on different solaris machines. We have put our JSPs in the weblogic application server and proxy the requests from iplanet to weblogic.
We are facing a problem with the errorPage in the 'Page Directive' tag of the JSP. We have given xxx.jsp as an 'errorpage' parameter in the page directive tag. If we directly access the JSP from the WebLogic, and there is an system error, the error page specified in the JSP is getting displayed. But if we access the JSP from iPlanet and there is an system error, instead of displaying the error page, iPlanet is asking whether we want to download the file. If we say yes it downloads the actual JSP code itself. We have defined the mime types in obj.conf file as well as mime.types for the iPlanet.
If anyone knows how this can be solved, it would be of great help
Regards,
Krish
How did you configure the obj.conf file? proxy by mime type or ppath? It
seems errorPage.jsp was not proxyed and treated as a unknown mime type.

Problem with servlet after migrating from OC4J to WebLogic 10.3
I come across a problem when I was migrating from jDev 11g TP4 to production version in that step also server got changed from OC4J to webLogic.
I am running java http servlet along other jspx pages. When everything was on OC4J there was no problem whit security on this servlet ( servlet was under same authorization automatically, and I was able to create new application module on this servlet by createRootApplicationModule
) but when I changed to WebLogic 10.3 I come across a numerous problems. First one is solved i managed to put the servlet under same authorization as jspx pages by
*<servlet>*
*<servlet-name>report</servlet-name>*
*<servlet-class>path.to.class</servlet-class>*
*<security-role-ref>*
*<role-name>name</role-name>*
*<role-link>valid-users</role-link>*
*</security-role-ref>*
*</servlet>*
but when I trying to create new application module I get JBO-30003 error which is Caused by:
oracle.adf.share.security.ADFSecurityAuthenticationException: JAAS login error.
Invalid null input: name
Has anybody any idea what I am doing wrong?
Thank you for your help, Rok Kogovšekfor example:
web.xml
<security-role>
<role-name>yourrole</role-name>
</security-role>
weblogic.xml
<security-role-assignment>
<role-name>yourrole</role-name>

Problem creating webservice from existing code in sjse8
I have a java class with three methods in an enterprise app (no ejbs) that I want to expose with webservice. In sudio5 I had no problem with webservice creation but in studio8 when I chose "From scratch, Use existing code", it gives me the opting to go to my class and select those methods. When I click finish, it generates an Implementation class that has declaration for my java class repeated 3 times which is obviously wrong and under it says:
// Enter web service operations here. (Popup menu: Web Service->Add Operation)
The class is empty.
I choose "rpcliteral", "strict", "useonewayoperations" and "donotoverride" under web module property / webservice.
And as you can guess it generates a wsdl file with no webservice methods info.
I have and am checking all forums and searching different sites but haven't fond anything yet.
I appreciate any help resolving this issue.Seems this feature doesn't work properly in jse and completely removed from latest nb55 enterprise pack (only session enterprise bean case remain)

Encoding problem while reading binary data from MQ-series
Dear all,
we are running on 7.0 and we have an encoding problem while reading binary data from MQ-series. Because we are getting flat strings from queue we use module "Plain2ML" (MessageTransformBean) for wrapping xml-elements around the incoming data.
The MQ-Series-Server is using CCSID 850, which we configured in connection parameters in communication channel (both parameters for Queuemanager CCSID and also CCSID of target).If there are special characters in the message (which HEX-values differ from codepage to codepage) we get errors in our adapter while executing, please see stack-trace for further analysis below.
It seems to us that
1. method ByteToCharUTF8.convert() expects UTF-8 in binary data
2. Both CCSID parameters are not used anyway in JMS-adapter
How can we solve this problem without changing anything on MQ-site?
Here is the stack-trace:

Kind regards, StefanHi Stefan,
for the first MTB now we are using only one parameter: Transform.ContentType = text/plain;charset="ISO-8859-1"
The second MTB, which does the XML-Wrapping, is configured like this:
Transform.Class = com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
Transform.ContentType = application/xml
xml.conversionType = SimplePlain2XML
xml.fieldNames = value
xml.fieldSeparator = §%zulu§%
xml.processFieldNames = fromConfiguration
xml.structureTitle = payload
Both CCSID configuration parameters from the "Source"-Tab we've set to 850.
Now, we don't get an error anymore - sun.io.malformedInputException - , but, unfortunately, now special character conversion succeeded (we need an "ß" and we get an ISO-HEX-E1 -> á). E1 is (different from ISO) an "ß" in 850.
Any ideas? -
Problem accessing Webservices from Flex
Hi All,
I have created a Webservice in Abap and configured it using
SOAMANAGER transaction. I am able to succesfully test the Web serivice which I have created in 'Soamanager ' transaction.
But when I am calling this Webservice from Flex application I am getting an error as " FAULT : faultCode:WSDLError faultString:'Runtime exception Error #1009' faultDetail:'null' "
We tried calling the Webservice outside SAP from the FLex application, it is working fine.
Please let me know how to rectify this error . It's an urgent requirement.
Thanks and regards,
Uma.hi
when you create your destinations for your webservices in the SOAMANAGER-> Destination Template
you would be providing wsdl url and destination , and in the below you can
find the username and pwd that need to set , you need to select the radio buttons with logon tickets ,
username , password , there , re-check the username and pwd by selecting the radio button with selecting the
radio button username password , and even check the webservice in the WSNAVIGATOR , whether its working
fine , and other thing is there is situation where your webservice may work fine inthe wsnavigator even then there would
be some problem inthe webservice , even check this scenario.

Mail encoding problem when sending from Iphone
Hello,
I'm a new user with iPhone.
I have my iphone and on my computer, i have outlook 2010.
The problem is when i read a message sent by my iPhone in my Outlook 2010 , all accent carators(àéîû...) disapears and ere replaced by a strank caractor.
The fact is, when someone else send me email in my Outlook account, i see all accent caractor, but not from my iphone...
So the problem is it in my iphone or my Outlook?
Do you have an idea for the solution?
Thanks a lot
Pascalnew String(content.getBytes("iso-8859-1"))That code does this:
1. Encode content from chars to bytes using ISO-8859-1.
2. Decode those bytes to chars using the system's default encoding. (i.e. assuming they were encoded using the system's default encoding, which they weren't necessarily.)
Now, if the system's default encoding is ISO-8859-1 then that results in you getting back the original string unchanged. This at least is benign. If the system's default encoding is something else then that may result in you getting back a damaged version of the original string.
So, that construct is at best pointless and potentially harmful. Don't bother with it. And note that since the default encoding may differ from one operating system to another, that would explain why you see different results from different operating systems. -
Calling an ejb from glassfish to weblogic server
I'd like to be able to call a stateless session bean from a glassfishV3 server that is residing on weblogic 9.2.3. (Ejb spec 2.1 NOT 3.0 please)
I've done this successfully from Tomcat to weblogic, but there are a few hiccups when trying this on glassfish.
Basically what I've attempted is this:
1.) I add these jvm properties to the glassfish startup:
-Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=weblogic.corba.orb.ORB
-Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass=weblogic.corba.orb.ORB
-Djavax.rmi.CORBA.PortableRemoteObjectClass=weblogic.iiop.PortableRemoteObjectDelegateImpl
-Djavax.rmi.CORBA.UtilClass=weblogic.iiop.UtilDelegateImpl
2.) Copy weblogic.jar, tools.jar, and webservices.jar from the weblogic/server/lib directory to the glassfish lib/ext directory
...glassfish won't start then because of the weblogic.jar...
3.) Move the weblogic.jar to the WEB-INF/lib directory of my war in glassfish.
Now I try it and get:
(I'm skipping some of the stacktrace at the start)
.....java.lang.IllegalAccessError: tried to access method weblogic.kernel.KernelStatus.initialized()V from class weblogic.kernel.Kernel at weblogic.kernel.Kernel.ensureInitialized......
I'm guessing that this has to do with the "weblogic kernel" not being initialized. So now I'm stuck.
Am I going down the wrong path?
I've also tried these other proposed solutions:
1.) Changing the connection properties of the InitialContext to use these properties:
env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:7001");
env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "weblogic");
env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "weblogic");
2.) Using RMI over IIOP instead of T3.
None of these with any luck.
If anyone has done this successfully I'd appreciate some insight.

Enterprise application conversion problem from WLS 10.3.0 to WLS 10.3.2
Hi all,
I'm posting this just to document a problem I had when converting an Enterprise Application from WLS 10.3.0 across to WLS 10.3.2 environment.

It turns out this was an issue with the META-INF/weblogic-application.xml having duplicate entries for the "webapp.encoding.default" parameter.
This obviously got duplicated when my app was re-imported into the Eclipse OPEP environment for WLS 10.3.2
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<wls:weblogic-application xmlns:wls="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-application" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/javaee_5.xsd http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-application http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-application/1.0/weblogic-application.xsd">
<!-- server-version: 10.3 -->
<!--weblogic-version:10.3.2-->
<wls:application-param>
<wls:param-name>webapp.encoding.default</wls:param-name>
<wls:param-value>UTF-8</wls:param-value>
</wls:application-param>
<wls:application-param>
<wls:param-name>webapp.encoding.default</wls:param-name>
<wls:param-value>UTF-8</wls:param-value>
</wls:application-param>
</wls:weblogic-application>
Removing the duplicate entry resolved this problem.
I hope this helps anyone else that experiences this issue.

Is able to run two webservices in Weblogic 7.0 trial version ?
Hi all:
I caught a webservice problem in weblogic7.0 (trial version).
I have built an Session Bean example (examples\webservices\complex\statelessSession)
in Weblogic 7.0 Examples Service, it works as expected.
However, when I create another session bean following the above example with different
Service Name and JNDI Name, the new session bean cannot work as expected(No WSDL
URL is found).
Is able to run two webservices in Weblogic 7.0 trial version?
How can I run two and more webservices in Weblogic 7.0 trial version?
If anyone know how to solve it, please reply me as soon as possible.Hi Kelvin,
Could you check your server log file for any errors. If there are errors, would you post them here. It sounds like the second webservice is simply not being
deployed for some reason.
In the application.xml, make sure you have given each webservice a different <context-root>
As a suggestion, make the <display-name> and the <context-root> the same, for example using: "TreeClock" then you should be able to find the webservice:
http://<host>:<port>/TreeClock/TreeClock

Thanks your help !!! Sorry to confuse you as we are actually using the GA version
(download form BWA for evaluation).
The problem is like this, when we developed two web service and deploy both.
Only one of them can show up by quene the ?wsdl.
Any additional info that we can provide ???
Many thanks !!!

Kelvin

Hi Kelvin,
By "trial version" if you mean the WLS 7.0 Beta program, thanks for giving
this a spin
however the final version of WLS 7.0 was Generally Available as of 4/30/02
and the Beta
program closed.
We have an example that illustrates how to build a client that invokes two
webservices.
You can get a copy from the dev2dev center:
http://dev2dev.bea.com/managed_content/direct/webservice/simple2.zip
Hope this helps,

Problem integrating Oracle 9i, Weblogic 7.0, and MDB
(REFORMATTED??)
All:
I would really appreciate an answer to this question.
Background:
- We are using Oracle 9i and Weblogic 7
- I have an MDB that receives a message, then in the onMessage
(Message) method performs a findByPrimaryKey(String).
Problem:
The deployment descriptors and the MDB all work fine when I set
them up to query against a Pointbase database and deploy to
Weblogic. Everything worked fine. But this was only a test to
see if everything would work.I now need to query against an
Oracle database.
I got the updated version of theOracle Thin Driver and put it in
the WL_HOME/server/lib/classes12.zip file. I even added it to
the beginning of the classpath in the startWeblogic.cmd file.But
am still having problems.
To test the just the Oracle connection I double checked the
user, password, URL,and driver settings in a java file using
JDBC connections - and they worked fine.They just aren't working
when integrated into Weblogic.
The problem lies in the Weblogic 7 server integration with
Oracle 9i. The softwareintegrated fine when tables from a
Pointbase database were queried. The only changes made have been
to make the connectivity to Oracle.
My errors are in the attached myserver.log file. If anyone knows
if this is aknown problem or what the problem is please let me
know.Just FYI my settings are as follows:
Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.6.10:1521:proType1
user=protype1
password=protype1
Any advice is welcomed! I've tried everything I can think of.

Hi. Show me your pool definition, and the standalone code that makes a good
JDBC connection with the driver you want to use. I assume you've
verified that the driver you want to use comes before any weblogic
stuff in the classpath for the server.
It seems the pool was configured with zero initial capacity, and is being
asked to create connections at runtime. I would make the pool make all it's
connections at startup. This is faster and more stable, and will also narow
the problem down to the pool not booting until we get the JDBC connections
made.

Error in deploying entity beans - migration from JBoss to Weblogic 10.3.4
Hi,
I am migrating EJB2.x code from JBoss to Weblogic 10.3.4. As a first step, I am tyring to deploy just Entity beans. I get following error when deploying to server.

Unable to deploy EJB: CollMetaData from myEJB.jar:
[EJB:011017]Error while reading 'META-INF/weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml'. The error was:

Can someone help me fixing the issue?
I changed schema locations of descriptor files as suggested at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e13706/overview.htm#i1074199 (see the third category for '*Enterprise Bean 2.1*' in the listing Table 1-1). Alternatively, you may see the schema locations for EJB2.0 directly at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e13719/dd_reference.htm#EJBPG481JRE version in JBoss is 1.6.0_16. JVM in web logic is pointing to jrockit_160_22_D1.1.1-3 which is come in the package. It doesn't seem to be related to JVM version mismatch.
I think it is an issue with definitions in weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml file. How should be the definition of entity-descriptor appear for entity bean which has finder methods in ejb-jar.xml?
Please see the snippets from corresponding descriptor files below.

Please ignore any typos that you may notice in above sample descriptions (because I just typed it here changing original names).
When I try to deploy the application, I get error message as posted in my first post above in this thread. Please correct me if I am making any erros in descriptor files.
