Enhanced Interafce Determination Split Mapping Performance factor

Hi,
I want to know is it a good practice to use Split Mapping using the Enhanced Interface Determination (EO-Maintain Order at Runtime is unchecked) and let the JEE adapter handle bundlings, etc.
If the number of messages split are more say in order of thousands, it causes severe stress on the JEE Server and it goes down.
Is Enhanced Interface Determination recommended to be used for high volume or any parmeters have to be tuned for its use.
Thanks.
Regards,
Sudharshan N A

Hi
Enhanced Interface Determination  can be used for High Volume
BPM is the other option for multimapping.
But as compared to BPM , Enhanced interface Determination is the better option by performance .

  • How enhanced receiver determination works..?

    hi all,
In enhanced receiver determination Interface mapping(which has java mapping) I have also included logic to make some change in content of input file and dynamic configuration for output file name. My input and output are flat files. So I m using dummy structure. In interface determination i m not referring any Interface mapping.
Receiver determination is working properly But neither dynamic file name nor the changes in content of file are reflecting in out put file.
Is it mandatory to use separate mapping in interface determination to change the content of file and dynamic file name?
    Thanks

The mapping used to in receiver Determination is to decide the Receiver.....the mapping used in Interface Determination is to create the target structure....both are to be developed and used separately (one in Receiver Determination and other in Interface Determination respectively)....this wiki gives you an example:

  • Enhanced Receiver Determination synchronous

    Hi all,
I am running into a bit of a problem when using enhanced receiver determination on a SOAP - XI - RFC scenario on a NW2004 SP17 XI system.
According to the help.sap.com (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/a5f2066340332de10000000a11466f/content.htm) I have to make an interface mapping to the "ReceiverDetermination" async abstract interface.
Here is my problem: "ReceiverDetermination" is asynchronous and my source (SOAP) interface is synchronous, but it seems impossible to define a interface mapping between a synchronous and asynchronous interface.
Do any of you have any ideas and/or suggestions to solve my current predicament?
    Steven

    Hi,
After some experimentation I found a solution.
It involves building a sync/sync bridge in an Integration Process and using a Receiver Determination step in that Integration Process.
The Integration Process forces you to store the request/response messages in an abstract ASYNC interface. When the Receiver Determination step calls the Receiver Determination Object in the directory, it uses the abstract async interface of the request message, instead of normal sync interface.
This enables you to build an enhanced receiver determination interface mapping using the abstract async interface used to store the message in the integration process.

  • Enhanced receiver determination and value mapping

I want to use enhanced receiver determination functionality in my scenario.
I couldn't see any message interface or data type under http://sap.com/xi/XI/System.

I don't want to hard code my business service name in mapping. How can I achieve this?

    Hi,
    ><i> couldn't see any message interface or data type under http://sap.com/xi/XI/System.

After upgradation to SP08 on NW04s , did you reimport the SAP BASIS Component into your IR? Ask your basis admin team to reimport the SAP basis Component into the IR.

  • Abap proxy with attachments in enhanced interface determination/mapping

    Hi guys.
We were receiving a abap proxy from ECC with a pdf attached in the header.
This was the scenario PROXY ---> FILE
We used the PayloadSwapBean Module in a Receiver File Adapter to get this document and put it in a FTP Server.
Now we have to make and improvement in the scenario and we have to generate two receiver interfaces so the scenario looks like this:
    PROXY ---> FILE and JDBC.
So we have to use an enhanced interface mapping and an enhanced interface determination.
The problem is that with this enhanced interface determination/mapping the attached document is lost.
    Any solution?
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards.

    > The problem is that with this enhanced interface determination/mapping the attached document is lost.
I know there was an issue in early PI 7.1 SP versions. maybe you find a bug fix for this?
    Otherwise report to SAP.

    Hi,
I had checked UDF. As per UDF you want to give ,
    <name>mr</name>
    instead
    <name>Mr</name>
Change the payload and map like below,
    Receiver:
    Name(Change Context to parent)--SplitByValue(ValueChange)--CollapseContext--Receiver
    Service:
    Name(Change Context to parent)--ServiceDetermination(UDF)--SplitByValue(EachValue)--Service

  • 1:2 Message Mapping WithOut BPM - Split mapping created no messages Error

    Hi,
I am a new-bie to SAP PI and am trying out the following scenario without BPM.
Make multiple files based on Age received from input file.Input File contains Name,DOB and Output File contains Name, Age.
I want to create 2 files, one containing details of people with Age <21 and the other output file containing details of people with Age >= 21.
    To acheive this,
    In IR, I created 2 DT and 3 MT,1 MM with 2 Target MT,both having occurences 0..unbounded, 1 IM with 2 Target MI,both having occurences 0..unbounded
And in ID, 1 Sender Agreement, 2 Receiver Agreement, 1 Receiver Determination, 1 Interface Determination using Enhanced Interface Determination.
When i run this scenario, I am getting the following error "Split mapping created no messages"
Please let me know how can I resolve it.

Oops, I did not know that.
Thanks for that information. uhuuuuuuuuuuu, atlast the message is processed and I am seeing output files created.
But, there is still one problem. My output files are created with just the following content
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
      <ns1:MT_2OP_File_Out xmlns:ns1="http://POC_Sec1_1IP2OP2" />
In MM, I see the output message as follows:
    Message
         Message1
             MT_2OP_File_Out
                  Employee
                      Name
                      Age
         Message2
             MT_2OP_File_Out1
                  Employee1
                      Name
                      Age
    The mapping done:
MT_2OP_File_Out and MT_2OP_File_Out with the Message Type element on source end.
Employee and Employee1 are mapped as
         Age -> removeContext -> SplitByValue[Each Value] < 21, Map Employee
         Age -> removeContext -> SplitByValue[Each Value] >= 21, Map Employee1 resp
    The fields are straight maps.
Is there any basic mapping error that I am making. Please help.

  • Multi-Mapping "Split mapping created no messages"

    Hi there
I have some issie when trying to create multiple messages from a single message. I am using file to file adapter and in the interface determination, enhanced config. Also my file structures are setup correctly. The inbound and outbound structure looks the same so theres no funny mapping used. I cheked my comm channels in the RWB and its fine and when I do a test config in the integration builder it complains about my interface determination but does not say whats wrong. Just the icon. I looked at some of the other blogs but they do not really help. Any ideas what this might be? The inbound message looks like this:

  • Split mapping created no messages -Mluti Mapping

    Hi ,
I am using Multimapping without BPM,XML to flat file Scenario (PI SP12) and I am getting this following error in SXMB_MONI
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Request Message Mapping

    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">

      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
      <SAP:Stack>Split mapping created no messages</SAP:Stack>
      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
I know this is very known error.
I refered  Split mapping created no messages
    and blog  /people/jin.shin/blog/2006/02/07/multi-mapping-without-bpm--yes-it146s-possible
but they didn't help, but I have just one target message structure not two like in the blog.
I double checked my source input XML file
1.mapped my header (0--unbounded) to the Message type ,cos I need to get many file as many times my header occur in the source.
2.checked in MM target Mesasge is   0---Unbounded
3.checked in IM target Messag is 0--- unbounded
    4.used Enhanced Interface determination.
when I test with the same sample XML data in test MM ,I am getting
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge"><ns0:Message1></ns0:Message1></ns0:Messages>
seems like no data in it,but system message is <b>Mapping executed successfully</b>
does it give like this when use multimapping?
basically it is not able to split the source message as required.
any suggestion?I think I chcked all whatever needs to be right.
    thank you,
    Babu

    Hi Agasturi,
    thank you for your response.
    >>If the Pay load is huge some time it will be empty message after pasting one time try to execute it again, Let us check the error message now.
I don't think my message is huse.just 60MB but header repeating like 100 times ,so it would generate 100 output files
OK,for safe side,I just took one record from my payload and also three records from my payload (SXMB_MONI),I get the same error in  SXMB_MONI
"Split mapping created no messages "
and in MM Testing similar to the previous one ,like
no output data just empty tags as given in my very first message and system status "mapping executed Successfully.
I have done similar scenarios using Muli mapping ,and I did this same way.there is no difference .I did exactly same as my earlier interface.but in this interface I have only differences from earlier interface "occurences of my source structure.
earlier I have SOURCE Header(1-unbounded ),header fields 1-1  trailer (0unbounded) trailer fields 1-1 so I created  my target structure Header, header fields 1-1 and trailer(0unbounded) trailer fields 1-1 that time.
    now I have
SOURCE Header(0-unbounded ),header fields 0-1  trailer (0unbounded) trailer fields 0-1 so I created  my target structure Header, header fields 0-1 and trailer(0unbounded) trailer fields 0-1
and mapped my header(0unbounded) to my MT-XYZ(0unbounded (after changing in the message tab occu to 0--unbounded)) to get as many as my hear times.
    any suggestion?
    thank you,
    Babu.

  • Enhanced Interface Determination?

    Hi All,
I have a scenario where i need to do a header validation . if validation succeeds i have to map source to target data and sent to SAP system. if validation fails i need to map source to error data and sent it to MQ system.
I  am using enhanced receiver determination for selecting proper receiver based on the header validation. but in this case inspite of failed header validation there is no error message in SXMB_MONI...
what i wanted is that when header validation fails , error message should be displaced in moni and also a error message (xml ) should be sent to MQ system.
for implemention the above mentioned feature , i took another message mapping and interface mapping where i am explicitly throwing error -- Repository work.
In configuration , i just create one more receiver determination with new message type and in existing interface determination , i added the additional interface mapping ( throwing error ).
due to above changes , i am getting three message in Moni.. if header validation fails.
    1. which indicated that there is message splitting.
    2. one successful message ( source to error xml file ) to be sent to MQ system.
    3. error message where i am explicitly throwing error .
can we have a situation where we have only one error message in moni and also the error is sent to MQ system?..
i guess there is some feature in interface determination.. what is enhaced interface determination..
I hope i am clear with my requirement..

  • Enhanced Inerface Determination for File to IDoc scenario

I am using Enhanced Interface Determination in my scenario - where I map my source message (from a single instance) into more than one IDoc messages (separate instance of Idoc for each occurance of a particular segment in the source message). To implement this I am 1:n message mapping for Message Splitting.
The mapping is being executed successfully and several instances of the target IDoc type is being created at the runtime. But at the technical routing step I am getting error:
<SAP:Stack>Messages in multi-message format can only be sent to one Adapter Engine</SAP:Stack>
Does this mean that we cannot use Multi-Mapping for Message Splitting for IDoc Outbound Channels? Even if all the target messages (more than one) are being sent through the same Inbound interface and same Reciever IDoc Channel?
    Regards,
    Suddha

Thanks Farooq for your valuable advice.
You know what, I read those restrictions in the help.sap.com but had thought there must be some work around. It says split messages are sent using only one AE, but I hoped that Idoc and Http can be used as they are not part of AE and rather IE itself. Anyways, can't help...............but could help me understand what are the technical reasons for these restrictions?
The blog is really a nice one and very helpful..............thanks! I used multi-mapping in exactly similar way as in the blog and used enhanced interface determination - but the target message being Idoc
Is BPM the only option for my scenario?

  • Intermittent JDBC error in Enhanced Receiver Determination

    hi,
you r trying to impliment Lookup for the file adapter which is not synch in nature and hance u r not getting the responce back.
please find the link which deals with how to impliment lookup for file adapter.

  • Interface Determination under Enhanced Receiver Determination Scenario

    Hi,
One of the very basic assumption for Enhanced Receiver Determination is that Receivers are found at run time, and one of the such requirement is that we don't know about Receiver  Business System at the time of configuration.
Now for such scenarios, how do we configure "Interface Determination". For Interface Determination one of the input filed is "Receiver Service/Party", in addition to "Sender Service/Party" plus "Sender Interface"
Since we don't know Receivers at config, what value(s) should come in "Receiver Service/Party" in Interface Determination at config time.
Thanking all of you in advance

    Hi Rajan,
You have to do the following things:-
First, maintain Database Table in SAP XI. Which contains several keys like Sender, Receiver system and then according to that key combination we perform a JCO call and fetch the values which gives us the correct receiver and interface.
Create a Data Type which will be having Two elements Service And Interface.
Now careate a message type and message interface for this data type. This will be for your receiver.
Then use source payload and perform a message mapping between Sender Payload & this Message Type.
Use UDF and make a JCO call and fetch table entries for service and interface.
Then in Directory perform extended determination and use this mapping into it. The result will be Service & Interface.
    Thanqs
