Enter sequential numbers in table, like in excel
Hello,
I would like to create a table in livecycle that would allow me to enter a series of accession numbers down a column, each containing a sequential number. I do this in excel and would like to know if this is possible in livecycle (to be used as a fillable pdf).
example:
animal # length weight
12-st-01
12-st-02
12-st-03
etc.
In excel I enter the first 2 numbers and drag and fill down for as many animals as I need. Can this be done?

Just want to post the answer that we found to this issue and close it, though more comments are always welcome!
We are going to move forward with buffering the Z object for the range as studies have shown and all other consulting input seems to be that buffering will solve this problem.

How to print Sequential Numbers like purchase order?
I ma new to mac and Numbers 09 and have a quick question. How do I print sequential numbers? I have my own MS Excel purchase order number with macro and I want to use Iwork Numbers to print the numbers. For example, Purchase Order: 70085-1 is in my form. When I ask to print 20 copies, it will print 70085-1, 70085-1, 70085-3, etc.

Maybe you would have to create the folder Pages and even the folder Applications by yourself.
go to the Scripts Menu, choose Pages, then choose openAndNameInvoiceWithAnumber
will create a new document from the defined user template
and name it with a new number.
It also insert the invoice number at the very beginning of the document.

It's currently set to show only rows of the table where the temperature is recorded as between 11 and 13 °C. I've clicked the + button to the right of that condition to add a second, but have not started to build that condition yet.

I went through the installation where the bar shows the percentages downloaded and installed. Once it shows 100% it asks me to click Finish. I do. Then I go to yahoo to check and it continues to show that the plugin is missing and that I need to download Adobe Flash which I thought that I just did. Am I missing something in terms of installing??

I still have this issue in Acrobat XI and MS Office Professional Plus 2010. I keep upgrading to no avail. This regression has resulted in a huge time drain for me. If you fixed it, please explain how I can get my hands on the resolution.
Previous versions of Excel and Adobe Acrobat enabled flexibility around the "Page #" of "Number of Pages" (Page &[Page] of &[Pages]) token, depending on context and usage. The "# of pages" token could represent EITHER the number of pages in the workbook OR the number of pages in the tab/sheet, depending on how you generated the PDF:
You could select "Selected Sheets" and then select all or some of the individual sheets in the workbook, and the PDF would honor the discrete numbering of each of the sheets, so the first page of each sheet was p1 and the "# of pages" was the number of pages in the sheet; not the number of pages in the workbook; or
You could select "Entire Workbook" and the PDF would honor continuous page numbers across all sheets, as a single document.
Now, it only honors the total number of pages in the workbook, regardless of the method you use to publish to PDF: saving as PDF, printing to PDF, using "createPDF" from Acrobat plugin to Excel's menu ribbon; selecting all sheets, some sheets, or Entire Workbook; automatic First page number or "1" under Page Setup > Page> First page number. (This last option, btw, does restart every sheet at p1, but it hardly makes sense if the total number of pages is still the total number in the workbook instead of the number in the sheet.)
I spent a lot of time trying each which way that the blog posts recommended and have tried this on multiple versions of Excel and Acrobat now.
NONE of these time-consuming experiments gave me what I wanted.They all insist that "Page #" of "Number of Pages" (Page &[Page] of &[Pages]) is the total number of pages in the workbook or the total number of pages in the selected sheets combined.
The numbering are correct in Excel Page Layout.
The same issue happens when using LibreOffice calc. (Although, I never tested with Libre Office before, so I don't know that it ever worked).
The workaround now is to create PDF for each spreadsheet one at a time, and then compile them using the Acrobat combine/binder feature. All alternatives are extremely time consuming and tedious. It used to be automatic. This is a major regression that has gone untreated for over a year now, maybe two years.
My task takes infinitely more time to complete than it did with previous versions of Acrobat. That means that days are added to my project, when the functionality used to enable a quick pdf generation that was ready for review, now I have to do this very manual time-consuming set of steps to generate a draft. As the project has grown and more tabs are added, my pdf-generation task takes that much longer. We require lots of drafts. It used to be easy and fast. Now it is hard and time-consuming.
In my opinion, the problem is not Excel; it is Acrobat because it was introduced with an upgrade in Acrobat, not an upgrade in Excel. The problem was introduced in Acrobat 9 or 10. Please provide a patch or add-on or something.If you are setting up the page numbers in Excel, the resulting PDF would display the the page numbers created in Excel. On Excel 2010 support page, (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/insert-and-remove-page-numbers-on-worksheets- HA010342619.aspx#BM2) is stated the following "tip" which indicates by default Excel 2010 starts numbering each tab with 1. Exel's workaround tip is below -
Set a different number for the starting page
Tip To number all of the worksheet pages in a workbook sequentially, first add page numbers to all worksheets in a workbook, and then use the following procedure to begin the page number for each worksheet with the appropriate number. For example, if your workbook contains two worksheets that with both be printed as two pages, you would use this procedure to begin the page numbering for the second worksheet with the number 3.
On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click the Dialog Box Launcher next to Page Setup.
On the Page tab, in the First page number box, type the number that you want to use for the first page.
Tip To use the default numbering system, type Auto in the First page number box.
Also helpful in the same section is the note on viewing page numbers. To see if the page numbering dilemma originates in Excel make sure you are using the Page Layout View see below:

If you want numbers shown on pages when you print a worksheet you can insert page numbers in the headers or footers of the worksheet pages. Page numbers that you insert are not displayed on the worksheet in Normal view — they are shown only in Page Layout view and on the printed pages.
Overall it may be easier not to create the page numbers in Excel but instead create then in Acrobat using the Headers and Footers option in Acrobat. I hope this helps - it sounds like a frustrating issue you are experiencing. -
Ipad Numbers apps unsuccessfully importing Microsoft Excel 2007 spreadsheet
Here are what I did. I first sent a Microsoft Excel 2007 spreadsheet (the format is xlsx) to my email. And then I opened it via Numbers in iPad Mini. The Numbers was importing the Microsoft Excel 2007 spreadsheet. It took about 2-3 minutes importing the file. The importing status bar was indicating the progress. When the importing status bar was about completed and then the Numbers apps closed itself. I first thought it completed importing the file. I opened the Numbers apps, there was nothing. I attempted opening it for several times but it ended up the same. That seemed the Numbers was having a problem importing Microsoft Excel 2007 spreadsheet. By the way, there are several tabs in the Microsoft Excel 2007 spreadsheet. Would that be a reason why Numbers couldn't import the file successfully? Or maybe Numbers only import Microsoft Excel 2007 spreadsheet with single tab in the file? Please help!

Its possible either of those could be a factor. I'm not sure if there is a top end limit on the number of tabs Numbers will handle (at least haven't run into to it yet). The formula syntax you have does not match what number presents, so that could be the issue, but I seem to recall it has not had an issue converting in the past. Could be wrth a look however. -
Problem with numeric columns when ADF table exported to Excel

We have a ADF table on a page which can be exported to excel spreadsheet using the <Af:ExportCollectionActionListener>. The adf table is within panel collection.
There are many numeric columns in this table and there is <af:convertnumber> used on these columns. No other properties are changed on the <af:convertnumber> tag, everything is default. And no formatting is applied on the view object attributes as well. When a user from US is exporting the table to excel everything works well no issues. But a Netherlands or French user exports the excel, the numeric values which have decimal point are shown as left aligned and the whole numbers in the same column are right aligned. As a result when the user is trying to sum the entire column only the right aligned numbers are getting added.
I am not sure what is the issue here ?
HAs someone seen this scenario before ?
Am I missing anything here - any property setting ?

Making sequentially numbered forms in InDesign
I am a prepress designer and I have a 2 part NCR form which needs to be sequentially numbered (1-xxxx) in the top right corner.
I used to send out any forms that needed numbering because I thought I could not do it in house until today. I was told by another store that I can look into Variable Data through InDesign and print out these NCR forms on my digital press with the numbering correct in the top corner. I know how to use other Adobe programs but not InDesign.

First set-up you numbers by using data fill in Excel, (single column for 1 number) export as text, for some reason Data Merge doesn't like my excel text files and requires me to open in text edit and save as text again.

Yes the files can be large, but you have just saved the process of sending your forms to a place to crash # them @ $25 min. run.
For short run consec #ing, this is great, but I've even done 8up 11x17 raffle tickets with 10,000 #'s (usually break the file in 2 or 3 units), when a fast turnaround on color laser was required. You need a fast processor to do something like this. -
Changing Profile option 'Sequential Numbering' at Site Level

I need some input regarding a change that I am planning to make to fix the following error in Order Import:
"Your profile option does not allow automatic numbering.
Please ask your system administrator to change the sequential numbering profile."
At our site, we are not using Automatic Numbering for any types of orders, RMAs etc. These numbers are provided by the legacy system, which populates the OE interface tables. Right now, the Profile Option "Sequential Numbering" is set as follows:
Site: Not Used
Application: Order Management - Partially Used
Responsibility: Order Management User/ Super User - Partially Used
I have found that if I change the Site profile to 'Partially Used', I don't get this error.
How will this change affect other applications like AR, AP, OKC, OTL etc? What do we have to be careful about? Do we need to test anything else? Any feedback will be appreciated.

How-ever Order import program was failing to create an order giving a error message like
‘Your profile option does not allow automatic numbering.

I tried running the Order import Program manually after inserting the very same data in to the interface Tables from PLSQL developer. And the order was getting created successfully.
To debug the issue further what I did was - Disabled the “Order Import” Concn program, placed the data file in the inbound folder and ran the EDI Order Inbound Program. The idea was to compare the entries in the interface tables between the one inserted by the EDI program and ourselves from PLSQL developer. The Data seemed to be the same. Then I enabled the “order Import” Conc Program and ran the same for the very same entry inserted by the EDI inbound program and the Order got created successfully….!
The responsibility was the culprit…!
EDI Inbound is run from ECE Super User and Manual Order Import from OM Super user…
Now order is getting created Successfully from e-Com Resp through EDI Inbound after setting that Profile Value to "Always Used". -
Performance problems due to sequential read on tables WBCROSSGT and CROSS

got the SAPNW2004s Sneak Preview ABAP installed. Performance is quite ok. But with certain dictionary operations like creating new attributes for a class I experience exceptional long runtimes and timeout dumps. In SM50 I see a sequential read on table WBCROSSGT. In OSS I can't find anything applicable yet for this release (SAP_BASIS 700, support level 5).
Any suggestions appreciated.

i had exactly the same problem after upgrading from MS SQL 2005 to MS SQl 2008 R2.
Our DEV system was almost completely exhausted and normal operation wasn't possible anymore.
SAP Note 1479008 solved the issue, even it is only "released" for MaxDB.

Is there a Plug-In that automates sequential numbering of an independent text element?
Is there a Plug-In that will enable automated sequential numbering of a particular item of text, independent of any of the other InDesign cues? Have some very large instructional book documents that have a main numeric element that is sequential and independent from page numbering or anything else that REALLY NEEDS to be automated. If nothing exists off the shelf how much would it cost for someone to created this software for me?

Hallo, I work on FC 6.0.2. My clips are 16:9 anamorphic. When I use 1:1.85 widescreen mask the result is definitely not aspect ratio 1:1.85. It looks like 1:2.35 or 1:2.55. Does anybody know what's wrong? Thank you. JB
