Entity Beans deployed on JBOSS

We have a Web application in our project that includes 6 Entity Beans with CMP fields1.1
The application was developed in WSAD 5.1
The WSAD generates Access Beans for each Entity Bean as well as stubs in default package com.ibm.ejs.container and com.ibm.websphere.csi.
E.g. The Entity Bean Organization.java has Access Bean OrganizationAccessBean.java.
Similarly for other 5 Entity Beans there are Access Beans created in WSAD.
But now we are migrating the application to JBOSS 4.0.3SP1 server.
The EAR of the application exported from the WSAD contains all the deployed code (stubs) and Access Beans.
When this EAR was imported in Eclipse 3.2, it gave us error as it does not support the IBM specific files.
We have replaced the IBM specific .xmi files by JBOSS compatible files like ejb-jar.xml, jboss.xml.
Then a mapping file was created with the name jbosscmp-jdbc.xml which has all the mapping between the beans and the tables in the database.
Also this file contains the relationship between the beans.
After this we tried deploying the code on JBOSS but got some errors as mentioned below:
Error:
12:42:53,141 INFO [EARDeployer] Init J2EE application: file:/D:/jboss-4.0.3SP1/server/default/deploy/pmt.ear
12:42:53,797 WARN [verifier] EJB spec violation:
Bean : Organization
Method : public void ejbCreate(String, int, int) throws Create Exception, Remote Exception
Section: 9.2.3
Warning: The return type of an ejbCreate (...) method must be the entity bean's primary key type.
What we analyzed was that in ejb-jar.xml there were some entries.
Here in <ejb-class> the Bean class was given, but there was no information about the AccessBean class.
In WSAD the AcessBean classes were generated by the tool, but we actually did not know how to refer the AccessBean.
Can anyone help us in successfully deploying the application to JBOSS server or provide some pointers/ steps to proceed.
Also need help regarding generation of Access Beans, stubs (IBM specific files) in Eclipse 3.2
Thanks
Regards,
dcpmt

So if I understand correctly you wish to use IBM specific classes in support of entity beans running on JBoss?
That won't be necessary on JBoss because JBoss has its own means of supporting entity beans on its server.

    I changed schema locations of descriptor files as suggested at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e13706/overview.htm#i1074199 (see the third category for '*Enterprise Bean 2.1*' in the listing Table 1-1). Alternatively, you may see the schema locations for EJB2.0 directly at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e13719/dd_reference.htm#EJBPG481

    JRE version in JBoss is 1.6.0_16. JVM in web logic is pointing to jrockit_160_22_D1.1.1-3 which is come in the package. It doesn't seem to be related to JVM version mismatch.
    I think it is an issue with definitions in weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml file. How should be the definition of entity-descriptor appear for entity bean which has finder methods in ejb-jar.xml?
    Please see the snippets from corresponding descriptor files below.

  • Ejb 3.0 Entity Bean Deployment

    I am using Jboss4.0.4 Application Server and i have deployed the Entity bean.
    In this for every request with same primary key, it is getting the values from the data base every time. I am not able to figure out why it's behaving like this.. Is there is any thing through code we can instruct the container to do it.

  • Entity Beans Deployment problem

    When I try to deploy an ear which has a jar with entity beans, a jar with session beans and a WAR I get the following error:

    However the WAR is properly loaded and I can access the JSP pages. But the ejb modules are not loaded.
    The strange thing is that during deployment the Server signifies a successful deployment, Its only in the logs that you can see this exception.

  • JDBC issue when accessing an Entity Bean

    Hi,

    must be an Oracle/Jdbc problem.
    Here you can see that the bean has been deployed on a valid connection pool.

  • GetId () returns 0 for CMP Entity Bean

    Hi
    I'm currently using the HR OE schema that you can download from otn to do some test with EJBs. After creating an CMP Entity Bean, deploying it to the container that comes with JDeveloper9i and accesing it via the Sample Client I get 0 for the id column. All other columns works fine the only one showing a value of 0 is the id column.

    I have created a CMP bean and when I use the create method,it inserts 0 in the primary key filed.This only happens if I do not supply a value for that field in the method.So try to check the create method and make sure that the primary key argument is there.In other words,oracle container inserts 0 in the primary key filed if no argument is supplied.

  • Is it possible to migrate Entity beans ?

    Hi all,
              supposing I have an Entity Bean deployed to a cluster. In the event of failure of a managed server, the Entity Beans that are "pinned" to that server can be migrated to another instance of WLS ?
              What is the best practice in this situation ?
              I thought to catch the ConnectException and do a lookup again, but maybe there's a way to migrate the Beans just like I migrate a JMS server.....
              Thanks in advance
              Francesco

    Can you provide some more details on what you are trying to do? Typically you wouldn't pin entity beans. They'd be on each server and use optimistic concurrency (perhaps with caching) to control access between servers.

  • Entity beans succesfully deployed on jboss, some tables missing in db.

    Hi,
    I deployed an application xith 25 entity beans on jboss 3.0.4 only 23 tables get created in the database though. When I deployed i get the message it already exists and then when i use that bean i got a table does not exist exception obviously. Anybody have any idea what's causing this.

    Hi,
    Could you please show the stacktrace of the errors you have come across ?
    When you deploy the application for the first time the tables are created. From then on, you would see messages like, the table already exists.
    I am pretty sure there is something you are missing in the stack trace.

  • Help: Deploying CMP Entity Bean on Jboss (DB2)

    Hi, I have a problem which I have tried to solve for a couple of days now with now success.
    I have deployed an ordinary Entity CMP Bean which name is Customer.
    This bean has 2 fields, an id field and a customername field.
    I use DB2 where the table is named customer and the fields are named as the fields in the bean, id and customername.
    I have configured the db2-ds.xml file as follows, and put it in %jboss%\server\default\deploy:

    java:/DB2DS

    I have the ejb-jar.xml file automaticly generated for me in my developer tool (WSAD).

  • Deploying 2 entity beans in the same jar file using jboss

    i have beans namely savings entity bean, checkings entity beans and teller session beans, i'm trying to deploy it with in the same jar file. but im getting an error 'savings bean : bean expects one persistance-type'. i hope someone could help me about this. its urgent. thanks

    Although I am not super familiar with Jboss, my guess is that looks like the ejb xml sheet is not specifying the persistance type correctly for an entity bean. Take a look at your ejb xml sheet or post it if necessary.

  • Problems deploying entity beans with local interfaces on Jboss?

    I'm trying to deploy a simple entity bean using local interfaces on Jboss 3.2.1 and I obtain the following exception:

    Any idea?
    Thanks,

    I guess you are missing <cmp-version>2.x</cmp-version> for your first warning and <primkey-field>primary key field </primkey-field> for you second warning in your ejb-jar.xml

  • Deploying entity beans with Local interfaces on Jboss

    Hi, I'm trying to deploying a simple entity bean on Jboss. The EJB has been developed with Local Interfaces because then I want to access it with a session bean facade.
    I get the following error:
    <!-- ERROR BEGIN -->

    Section: 9.4.7.1
    Warning: The primkey-field element must name a public field in the bean implemen
    tation class.
    <!-- ERROR END -->
    I'm following what is wrote in the Professional EJB editeb by wrox?
    Is it possible to deploy an entity bean alone with Local interfaces? Is there something I'm missing? It's true that I defined the implementation class as abstract, but because there are abstract getter/setter methods.
    Thanks for any help,

    Is it possible to deploy an entity bean alone with
    Local interfaces? Is there something I'm missing? It'sYes it is (no, you are not "missing something" ;). In fact, this is recommended practice in most cases under CMP 2.0 - CMR having been a major impetus to the development of Local interfaces in the specification. ;)
    true that I defined the implementation class as
    abstract, but because there are abstract getter/setter
    methods.No problems. You are "right on track" for CMP 2.0. :)

              e.printStackTrace();
         static String user = null;

         static String url = "t3://localhost:7001";
         * Gets an initial context.
         * @return Context
         * @exception java.lang.Exception if there is
         * an error in getting a Context
         static public Context getInitialContext() throws Exception
              Properties p = new Properties();
              p.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
              p.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, url);

                        password = "";
         p.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, password);
    return new InitialContext(p);
    this works fine in weblogic..
    also check if ur classpath is ok..

  • Deployment descriptor error for an EJB 3.0 entity bean module

    Hi all,
    i'm facing an error deploying an EJB 3.0 entity bean module wrapped in an enterprise application on WebLogic 10.
    The application is composed as follows:
    WASEnterprise.ear
    |-META-INF
    |-application.xml
    |-WAS.jar
    |-META-INF
    |-persistence.xml
    In other words the application server is unable to load persistence.xml deployment descriptor and,during deployment, it throws an error message like this:
    <Error> <J2EE> <BEA-160197> <Unable to load descriptor C:\bea\user_projects\domains\base_domain\autodeploy\WASEnterprise\WAS/META-INF/persistence.xml of module WAS. The error is weblogic.descriptor.DescriptorException: Unmarshaller failed
    I suppose that the persistence.xml is correct since i can deploy the application on jboss without any problem.
