Entity Cluster Descriptor Properties

I can't seem to find documentation on the read-only entity bean remote
          stub cluster deployment descriptor properties. I would imagine that
          they look similar to the stateless session bean properties but I can't
          find any documentation. I looked at the example cluster ejb and the
          deployment descriptor had a mix of stateful, stateless, and entity bean
          properties so it wasn't much help. Does anyone know where to look?

  • Descriptor properties not getting updated from the BPEL console.

    Hi,
    I am facing issues with updating the descriptor properties, like path for the rejectedMessageHandlers for file adapter, from the BPEL console. The issue is indeterministic in nature, meaning sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't, but majority of the times it does.
    I tried this putting the BPEL process in the turned off sate as well, but no good.
    The BPEL PM version is 10.1.2.0.2

  • How to specify descriptor properties in a projects xml file

    Hi,
    I am trying to read some properties for a descriptor using the method descriptor.getProperty(String).I need to be able to set the properties for the descriptor in the Projects XML file.How can I do that?
    I tried doing this the other way round.I used XMLProjectWriter to write out my Project to an xml file after I set the properties for the descriptor.The XMLProjectWriter does not seem to write out the properties.What do I do?

    If you need to modify only a select few descriptors you may want to consider the 'After Load' option in the Mapping Workbench.
    If you need to modify lots of descriptors you may want to consider SessionEventAdapter -> preLogin.

  • BPEL Sensor Deployment Descriptor Properties Question

    When a BPEL process is deployed to the container, several BAM properties are exposed at runtime via the BPEL deployment descriptor (BAM server connection properties). These can be modified via the BPEL Process Manager. The ideal being that when the BPEL process is deployed various places you can change the BAM sensor server properties without a re-compile.
    Unfortunately when I tried doing this, it seemed to try to work, but not successfully. When I changed the server settings it tried to access the new server, but with the old (or otherwise invalid) credentials -- even though I updated them. This locked the user account on the BAM server. I also noticed that once the BPEL process ran, the BAM server was continually bombarded with invalid requests (causing the account on the BAM server to lock as fast as it could be unlocked) until the BPEL engine was bounced.
    I'm not ruling out something weird in our environment, but has anyone else done this?
    Are the settings supposed to be in effect immediately after updating them or does it require a bounce of the BPEL container to properly re-initialize them?

    I think this was logged as a BPEL console bug. Updating BPEL descriptor for BAM server properties, (a) will not immediately take effect (b) updating BAMserver components have to be done 1 at a time (not 3 BAM params update) (c) BPEL server needs restart after each BAM server property change. Pl log a bug with BPEL server team with Oracle support. Validate the above with 1 property change per BPEL server restart.

  • "is not a known entity" error from EclipseLink

    Hi,
    I'm seeing a strange behavior in Weblogic (10.3.3) when using EclipseLink (2.0.2).
    Here is what I do. I use Maven to compile a project in which I use JPA (1.0.2). In this project, module *"A"* depends on module *"B"*. "B" contains a bunch of Entities ( javax.persistence.Entity_ ). But *"persistence.xml"* is in "A" in which all entities of "B" are registered. "B" is deployed as an Optional Package and "A" refers to it via its MANIFEST.
    Deployment is successful but when I run the application and try to persist an entity I get the above error in "A".
    One of the following actions will solve it:
    - Restart the weblogic server
    - Update module A's POM file and explicitly add a dependency to module B. Originally this dependency is not there because classes in module A accept "Object" and pass that through to EntityManager (not explicitly the entity class type). Adding this dependency doesn't change the JAR file's manifest in anyway. It only update the "maven" directory in JAR file's META-INF folder. I don't think weblogic even care about this folder.
    Why should this be the case?
    I downloaded EclipseLinks' source and debugged the application. It seems that the problem occurs because "*+descriptors+*" collection field in "*+org.eclipse.persistence.internal.sessions.AbstractSession+*" class doesn't have the entity's descriptor and thus it doesn't recognize it as an Entity. I reckon restarting the server updates that cache. But what about the second solution? Why is that working? Is "maven" directory in JAR file's META-INF directory known to weblogic?

  • WL Cluster with NES Proxy

    We are evaluating the Cluster features of WebLogic and got a eval
              license for the Cluster Support.
              I am running a default cluster (mycluster) using the default Multicast
              address (237.0.0.1) and am seeing
              some strange behaviour/errors.
              Would appreciate some asistance in this matter.
              Our Environment
              I created directory in a shared file system to host the cluster.
              (h:\kkanth\weblogic)
              Created the mycluster directory and other directories as recommended in
              the Administrator's guide.
              I have two WL Servers (asera190 and asera162) with permanent IP
              addresses of 10.1.1.61 and 10.1.1.70 respectively. They run NT 4.0.
              I'm using a NES proxy on asera190 with the plugin for WL specified in
              obj.conf alongwith the other parameters.
              I'm able to have both the servers join to cluster mycluster and the WL
              Admin Console does display a tree that depicts the cluster as well as
              servers in it (server61 and server70). The individual server directories
              are being created in h:\kkanth\weblogic\mycluster directory with the
              appropriate access.log and weblogic.log files.
              When a browser attempts to access a URL such as
              http://asera190/weblogic/snoop it does return the proper response, but
              all requests are processed by asera162 which is listed first in the
              obj.conf. Opening multiple sessions does not cause the requests to be
              sent to asera190 which is the second server in the cluster. When
              asera162 is shutdown and removed from the cluster, I hoped that
              subsequent requests would go to asera190. However , depending on the
              origin of the request, different errors were thrown. If I try to access
              http://asera190/weblogic/snoop from a browser on asera190, I get an
              error "Failure at line 351 of file proxy.cpp" ,while trying the same URL
              from asera162 cause "Failure at line 706 of file proxy.cpp".
              I'm attaching the weblogic.properties file kept in h:\kkanth\weblogic
              directory as well as the obj.conf file in the ....\config\ directory of
              asera190.
              We are running NES 3.5.1 and have setup proxy35.dll appropriately.

  • Not all of the host cluster nodes are marked as possible owners for the vms on this cluster

    I get this message in a cluster's properties after having replaced nodes' hardware (but keeping the same names). I noticed that some of the VMs in their settings have all the nodes but one checked as Possible Owners.
    What is a quick (PowerShell) way to find these VMs and check all the nodes as Possible Owners?  I see this page (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj628161.aspx) as how
    to do it in the GUI, but I want to do it with a script.  I haven't yet found a VMM cmdlet that sets the Possible Owners of a VM.

    Is there any special processing that occurs with a Startup class when it
              has been
              started via the cluster level properties file?
              We've got a class that loads the JNDI tree for various configuration for
              our application.
              It's written that so that it will rebind() entries in the tree, so two
              copies could work together
              in the cluster, but I'd like to prevent the double work. (One copy
              bind()s an element, then the other rebind()s the same value.
              Are Startups "cluster" aware, and is there any magic to simplify this
              for me (or do I do the
              work of creating a semaphore-like setup in my class to detect two copies
              running.)

    In the startup class on Environment object if you don't set
              replicatebindings to false, in a cluster all locally bound objects will be
              replicated. The default it true. So, jndi will try replicate every
              bind/rebind etc.
              Rebind will remove old copy and bind the new copy. But I have to understand
              more what you are trying to do, before I can be of any help.

  • How to build secondary keys dynamicaly in a generic entity definition class

    Hi developers,
    try to rebuild a generic entity definition class, where every instanced entity typ can has its own set of secondary fields. On the first moment it seems to be no problem, but now my problem is how to bind the annontation @Secondarykey... to the particular fields during construction of the entity shell be used?

    Hi Joachim,
    After understanding more about your application (off forum) I think I can answer your question more clearly. The general problem is: How can a dynamic, user defined schema be represented in Berkeley DB for multiple entity types, each with any number of properties, and arbitrary secondary keys for selected properties?
    There are many ways to do this and I'll describe one approach. I do not recommend using DPL for this case. In our documentation,

    we say: "Note that we recommend you use the DPL if all you want to do is make classes with a relatively static schema to be persistent." For a dynamic schema that is not represented using Java classes, the base API provides more flexibility.
    The common requirements for a dynamic schema are:
    1) Each entity has a type, which is roughly equivalent to a Java class. But unlike classes, types may be added dynamically. Queries are normally limited to entities of a particular type; this is not true for all applications, but I will make this assumption here.
    2) Each entity contains, at least logically, a Map of key-value properties. The property name is equivalent to a Java field name and the property value is equivalent to the field value. Properties may be added dynamically.
    3) Any number of properties for a given type may be defined as secondary keys. Secondary keys may be added dynamically.
    One approach for implementing this is as follows.
    A) A Database per entity type is created. This allows queries against a given type to be performed withing a single database. For simplicity the database name can be set to the name of entity type.
    The alternative is to have a single Database for all entity types. This works well for applications that want to query against properties that are common to all entity types. While such a schema is not common, it does occur; for example, an LDAP schema has this characteristic. If you do store all types in a single Database, and you want to query against a single entity type, you'll need to make the entity type a secondary key and perform a BDB "join" (see Database.join) that includes the type key.
    When queries are performed against a single type it is more efficient to have a Database per type. This avoids the extra secondary key for entity type, and the overhead of using it in each query.
    Another advantage to using a Database per type is that you can remove the entire Database in one step if the type is deleted. Calling Environment.removeDatabase is more efficient than removing the individual records.
    B) The properties for each entity can be stored as serialized key-value pairs. There are several ways to do this, but they are all roughly equivalent:
    B-1) If you use a SerialBinding, Java serialization does the work for you, but Java serialization produce larger data and is slower than using a TupleBinding.
    B-2) A TupleBinding can be implemented to write the key-value pairs. Each key is the string name. The value can also be a String, if all your data values are already Strings or if you convert values to/from Strings when they are used.
    B-3) If you have typed values (the type of each property is known) and you don't want to store values as Strings, you can write each value as a particular type in your TupleBinding. See TupleInput and TupleOutput for details.
    If your property values are not simple types (String, Integer, etc) then this approach is more complex. When using a TupleBinding, you will need custom marshaling code for each complex type. If this is too complex, then consider using a SerialBinding. Java serialization will handle arbitrary complex types, as long as each type is serializable.
    Another approach is to store each property in record of its own in a Properties database. This is a natural idea to consider, because this is what you might do with a relational database. But I do not recommend this approach because it will be inefficient to reconstruct the entire entity record from the individual property records. With BDB, we are not limited to the relational model so we can store the entire key-value map easily in a single record.
    However, this is one advantage to using a Properties database: If you commonly add or remove a single property, and entities normally have a large number of properties, and you do not commonly reconstruct the entire entity (all properties), then the Properties database approach may be more efficient. I do not think this is common, so I won't describe this approach in detail.
    C) To support any number of secondary keys, you will need to know which properties are secondary keys and you will need to implement the SecondaryKeyCreator or SecondaryMultiKeyCreator interface.
    C-1) Assuming that you have a Database per entity type, the simplest approach is to create a single SecondaryDatabase for each entity type that is associated with the primary Database for that type. The name of the SecondaryDatabase could be the name of the primary Database with a special suffix added.
    In this case, you should implement SecondaryMultiKeyCreator that returns all secondary key properties for a given entity. A two-part key should be returned for each property that is a secondary key -- {name, value} -- where name is property name and value is the value (either as a String or as a binary type using TupleInput/TupleOutput). When you perform queries for a given property, you will need to construct the {name, value} key to do the query.
    The SecondaryDatabase will need to permit duplicates (see SecondaryConfig.setSortedDuplicates) to allow any of the secondary keys to have the same value for more than one entity. If you have secondary keys that are defined to be unique (only one value per entity) then you will need to enforce that restriction yourself by performing a lookup.
    C-2) The alternative is to create a SecondaryDatabase for every property that is a secondary key. The database name could be the primary database name with a suffix identifying the secondary key.
    In this case you can implement either SecondaryKeyCreator or SecondaryMultiKeyCreator, depending on whether multiple values for each secondary key are permitted. And you can configure duplicates for the secondary database only if more than one entity may have the same secondary key value.
    Each secondary key consists only of its value, the name is not included because it is implied by the SecondaryDatabase in which it is stored. This approach is therefore more efficient than C-1 where we have a single SecondaryDatabase for all properties, because the secondary keys are smaller. However, there is the added work of maintaining the SecondaryDatabases each time the schema is changed: You must create and remove the secondary databases as the schema changes.
    For best performance, I recommend C-2.
    D) If you have a dynamic schema, you must store your metadata: the information that describes the names of each entity type, the properties allowed for that type (if restricted), and the list of which properties are secondary keys.
    I recommend storing metadata in a Database rather than in a file. This database could have a special name that cannot be used for any entity type. When metadata changes, you will be adding and removing databases. To ensure consistency, you should change the metadata and change the databases in a single transaction. This is possible only if you store the metadata in a Database.
    The Berkeley DB base API provides the flexibility to implement a dynamic schema in a very efficient manner. But be warned that implementing a data store with a dynamic schema is a complex task. As requirements grow over time, the metadata becomes more complex. You may even have to support evolution of metadata. If possible, try to keeps things as simple as possible.
    If you want complete flexibility in your schema and/or you want to store complex data types, you may want to consider storing XML. This is possible with Berkeley DB Java Edition since you can store arbitrary data in a Database, but you must implement secondary indexes for the XML data yourself -- this could be a very complex task. If you don't require pure Java, you should consider the Berkeley DB XML product. BDB XML supports many kinds of indexes as well as large documents, XPath, XQuery, and other features.

  • Query on Interface Descriptor

    I have a simple question about querying on Interfaces.
    I have an interface called Entity, and 2 implementing classes called Service and ServiceProvider (mapped to tables Services (pk serviceId) and ServiceProviders (pk serviceProviderId)). serviceId and serviceProviderId have independent sequences. In Workbench, both classes are specified as implementing the Entity interface. The Entity interface currently specifies an accessor method getEntityId(), and entityId is a common query key for both classes.
    I want to query against the Entity interface to obtain a single instance, by knowing the entityId and class name.
    How can I formulate a readObject query so that Toplink generates the appropriate SQL:
    select * from services where serviceId = ? or
    select * from serviceProviders where serviceProviderId = ?
    Sorry for the trivial nature of this question - I can't find any examples of querying against interface descriptors in a search of tutorials or the developers guide. The developers guide simply says "If there are multiple implementors of the interfaces, the query returns instances of all implementing classes." and this sounds like it would translate to a UNION ALL SQL query.
    I also have in a separate class a variable one to one mapping where I can specify a class indicator (entityTypeId values). Somehow I feel that I need something like this for the Entity interface descriptor.

    Frankly, this just isn't something that is done that often. In the past decade I can only think of a couple of customers who've asked me about this. I always feel a bit uncomfortable with how querying through interfaces really tends to break polymorphism -- it just doesn't seem very natural from an OO perspective. Now, if instead of an interface you had used a common superclass, that makes more sense. I guess the fact that interfaces don't have state makes this whole area a bit of an OOAD research topic. :)
    That being said, I don't expect TopLink would do an "or" query like you've shown, but would do a UNION.
    My recommendation is to experiement with the queries, perhaps take a look at query-keys (they may be of some help here), and contact support with any feature suggestions you have in this area.

  • SQL 2014 Failover Cluster

    Hi All,
    I am having permission issue while bringing sql cluster resource online.
    I had the cluster setup and working with ENT edition, inorder to change the SQL edition, I removed the node from the cluster, uninstalled all the binaries and create a new failover cluster using STD edition. Using the same network name/IP as before, however
    the setup started failing while trying to bring the clustered service online.
    Cluster network name resource 'SQL' failed to create its associated computer object in domain '' during: Resource online.
    The text for the associated error code is: Access is denied.
    Please work with your domain administrator to ensure that:
    - The cluster identity 'DBCLUS$' has Create Computer Objects permissions. By default all computer objects are created in the same container as the cluster identity 'DBCLUS$'.
    - The quota for computer objects has not been reached.
    - If there is an existing computer object, verify the Cluster Identity 'DBCLUS$' has 'Full Control' permission to that computer object using the Active Directory Users and Computers tool.
    There was no permission change in AD, and I verified all the proper permissions exits.
    In the properties tab, I see Kerberos status: Access is denied.
    Windows 2012 Cluster and Windows 2003 AD.
    I am stumped. Any help appreciated. Thank You.

  • How to set the isolation level on Entity EJBs

    I am using 10.1.3.3 of the OC4J app server.
    I am creating an application that uses EJB 2.1.
    I am trying to set the isolation levels on the EJBs to either serializable or repeatable read.
    When i deploy the EAR file from the OC4J admin console, i can set the isolation level property on the EJB's however when i inspect the orion-ejb-jar.xml file I do not see the isolation level being set. Furthermore, i tried to manually change the isolation setting by editing the orion-ejb-jar.xml and adding the isolation="serialiable" attribute on the entity bean descriptor. I then stopped and restarted the server. I noticed that my change was no longer in the file.
    Can someone please let me know how to solve this problem and set the isolation level on Entity EJBs . Thanks

  • Error initializing descriptor

    Any idea why this kind of error would occur? It happens only when I create a one-one mapping between Transcation and Attachment. If I remove the mapping it works fine.

    Below are the descriptors generated by Toplink for the Transaction and Attachment descriptors. At the bottom of the method for buildAttachmentDescriptor there is a One to One mapping. If I remove that mapping the descriptors initialize fine. I'm not sure how adding the mapping makes the sequence field read only.

    I'm guessing that by looking at the error message that the sequence number field is not writable. Also, ensure that the TRX_ATTACHMENT table is in the database.

    I have XI installed in HP-UX,
    the permission of the instance.properties file (/usr/sap/<SID>/<instance name>/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties) in my XI system (installed in HP-UX), changes automatically, and hence the server starts giving problem like, JCO error while message-mapping, etc,
    can u tell me how the permission changes on the fly,
    I mean to say, in proper condition we keep it as rw_rw_rw, but it changes to rw_ ___ ___,

    I just checked on two systems. It looks like the permissions should be:
    sidadm > ll j2ee/cluster/instance.properties
    -rw-r--r--   1 sidadm     sapsys        3669 Nov 25 12:41 j2ee/cluster/instance.properties
    Can you please check if <b>sidadm> umask</b> returns 022?
