Erase imported pictures on iPad

I have spend hour in trying to erase pictures on my iPad, which now is full of photos.
Very annoying. And no success.
Searching on different support forums do not give any clue.
One common advice is to erase the photos on my computer, and then sync.
Apart from being a awkward procedure (why make it impossible to erase pictures on the iPad directly?), the photos are not synced, they are imported from the cameras card directly into the iPad. No computer involved.
Another advice is to reset the iPac completely. Not an alternative, if I can avoid it.
But maybe I cant't? Maybe that is Apples way of thinking different? Come on...
How complicated can it be? Do I really have to reset the device, thus erasing everything, just to get rid of the imported pictures?

  • How do I create sub folders for imported pictures in iPad albums?

    I have imported some photos to my iPad for a presentation. The pictures were in different folder under the main folder. After I import the main folder the sub folders are deleted and now all the picture are in one folder. How can I keep the original main folder with sub folders when importing pictures in iPad photo?

    Not within the Photos app, but there are other photo management apps in the App Store which allow you to create albums within albums e.g. Photo Manager Pro - that app lets you copy photos to/from the Photos app and copy photos via iTunes : Photo Manager Pro help pages.

  • I am trying to import pictures to IPAD 2 via Ipad Connector. Use to work now it does not. Any clues?

    I am trying to import pictures to IPAD 2 via Ipad2 Camera  Connector (Flash). Use to work now it does not. Any clues? I am a neophyte to Apple products...

    If you are using a flash card, as opposed to an SD card, then I assume that you are using a third-party card reader with the kit ? If so what error, if any, are you getting e.g. a 'requires too much power' error ?
    Also how are the photos getting onto the card ? If you are adding them yoursefly then you need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them

  • Attempted to import pictures and ipad is locked up. How do I undo?

    I attempted to import some photos from my camera to the ipad using camera adapter. One picture had the download circle for over an hour. So I attempted to leave picture site and have a blue screen with the same download circle still rolling.Help.

    I assume that you disconnected the camera and the CCK from the iPad so the standard fix is to reset the iPad if it is frozen and unresponsive. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • I'm facing a problem with my ipad3 importing picture from ipad to my windows PC,my pc says port problem..What should I do?

    my ipad is 3rd generation+cellular.    ios7.1.2   .storage capacity 13.2 GB
    the problem i'm facing is when i insert my ipad to my pc the autoplay option is not appearing as a result i'm not able to take pics from ipad to pc,,,,generally autoplay option appears & i used to take pics but now i cant..I went to device manager option & there i discover some random port problem.what should i do?

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • How to import picture to iPad from USB connection

    Hello there
    It is very hard for me to import a picture from SD card thought USB connection or upload a picture to  my web.
    What is going on iPad ?

    The iPad doesn't support input from SD cards except via the Camera Connector Kit. Is that what you're using?

  • I can not import pictures from iPad into Aperture

    I have an iPad 1, latest iOS. I shoot Nikon RAW files that I import unsingh the camera connector kit (CCK). I use Aperture, again latest version. All of that in OS X latest and greatest on an iMac (March 2009).
    I simply can not import pics from the iPad onto Aperture.
    AP3 does see the iPad when I go in import mode (CMD I) and does see all my pics (just came back from vacation with 3000+).
    Importing All starts the process, the import wheel spins, but the nothing happens . If I double click on the "Importing..." message to see the scheduled tasks, I do see that a number of importing tasks are scheduled.
    However, no progress is ever made.
    Any ideas?

    Are you connected to the wi-fi and/or 3G

  • Deleting imported pictures

    Deleting imported pictures from iPad?

    How did you import them? If you used iTunes via your comptuer, you'll have to use iTunes again to take them off.
    Basically when you used iTUnes you told the program 'i want all the photos in this folder on my iPad'. So you'll need to edit that folder, removing the photos you want gone, connect your device, open iTunes and then sync so iTunes can update the contents of the photos folder - taking off the ones you took out of the folder.
    If you saved the photos from e-mail or hte like, you should see the ability to 'select' photos from your album view. Select the ones you want gone and tap the trash can symbol. Or you can go through them one by one and delete them

  • After upgrading to Yosemite (I don't have iPhoto anymore, only PHOTOS) my pictures will not import from my iPad or iPhone 5s or any picture from web, it shows "Database Error: failured to persist version"

    After upgrading to Yosemite (I don't have iPhoto anymore, only PHOTOS) my pictures will not import from my iPad or iPhone 5s or any picture from web, it shows "Database Error: failured to persist version".  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Sorry,
    Yes, the error message is exactly like that  ("Database error: failured to persist version")
    No photos will import at all.  I use USB to import from iPhone 5s or iPad 2.
    About the difference?  iPhoto and Photos .  Are there two softwares?
    I also will like to merge and/or synchronize all my photos I had saved to iCloud backups, Macbook Pro,  iPhone 5s and iPad hard drives using iPhoto.  It's call iPhoto library.  At one point I turned off streaming.
    Thanks again Larry HN.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

    IT now Seems my pictures get a new name.

  • How can I get imported pictures from my ipad 3 to my laptop?

    Pretty much what the quetions states - "How can I get imported pictures from my ipad 3 to my laptop?"
    I've imported a load of pics from my Nikon D40 to my iPad 3 (ios 6.1) using the iPad camera connector.
    So far so good.
    However I cannot sync the pictures to my laptop (win 7).  I would like to be able to keep the albums I have created, and get them to the laptop too.
    If a restore was required I might lose thee pics.
    Any advice or apps recommended to help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve Potter

    To copy photos to your computer that were copied to it via the camera connection kit (or taken with it or saved from emails/websites) then see this page (as far as I know you can't copy their albums) - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard

  • Using a connector to import pictures from an SD card; my iPad appears frozen ?

    Trying to import pictures to my iPad for the first time & the connection is in; I receive the Import icon, but appears frozen ?

    Yes. You need the iPad Camera Connection kit. The photos have to be in a folder titled DCIM in the root directory of the card. The name has to be eight characters like a camera names photos.. The suffix should be .jpg but some other photo formats may work
    BTW, this is the Mac Mini desktop forum
