Error 404 running Servlet with Tomcat 4.1.18
Hi,
I made a small test servlet in a "hello world" style and I have problems to make it run under Tomcat 4.1.18 whereas it works perfectly on Tomcat 3.3 and Tomcat4.0.6...
Why do I get a 404 error with 4.1.18 whereas I can reach the servlet on other versions of Tomcat ??
Do you have an idea ?
Is there some new tricks in 4.1.18 ?
Thanks
Here is my web.xml, i put it in the directory of tomcat\webapps\myApp\WEB-INF :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO=8859-1"?>
<!DOCTYPE web-app
PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystem, Inc.//DTD Web Application2.3//EN"
"http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">
<web-app>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>myservlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>TestingServlet</servlet-class>
</servlet>
</web-app>
and still it doesn't work...

How to Run servlet in Tomcat 5.5.9
hi
How to run servlet in tomcat 5.5.9?how to set context path in server.xml of conf folder in tomcat since there is no context tag in server.xml.
JitenHi ! I have a similar problem, well, it's along the same line ...
I'm using NetBeans 4.1, and i've coded a servlet. Using NetBeans to launch my servlet (with the bundled Tomcat 5.5.7) works fine, however i need to deploy my application unto a Tomcat 5.5.9 server.
Thus, i copied the WAR file generated by NetBeans into the Tomcat 5.5.9 webapps directory, and Tomcat expands it.
Problem is when i run my JSP pages with the form tags, they do not work on the Tomcat 5.5.9 environment. Anyone knows why?
(These work on the NetBeans Tomcat bundle 5.5.7)
My form action :
<form name="index" method="get" action="PageServlet">
My web.xml :
<servlet>
<servlet-name>PageServlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>application.PageServlet</servlet-class>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>PageServlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/PageServlet</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
I'm really stumbed on why it doesn't work in Tomcat 5.5.9, any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance ^_^ -
Hi ,
How to run servlets in tomcat server. I created two files html and servlet file.
Html file
callservlet.html
<html>
<body>
<form method=post action="servletcalled.class">
<input type=submit value="submit">
</form>
<body>
</html>
servlet file
servletcalled.java contains
public void doPost(HttpServletRequest req,HttpServletResponse res ){
java.io.PrintWriter out = req.getWriter();
out.println("Hi, executed");
i put the callservlet.html in webapps/examples/ and servletcalled.class was in webapps/examples/Web-inf/classes/
After starting the tomcat and running the program html file is getting exceuted but when i click on the submit button this error is prompted
type Status report
message servletcalled.class
description The requested resource (servletcalled.class) is not available.
Thanks in advanceThanks,
I created a new directory in webapps
s "webapps/test".
Test directory contains

2. another directory Web-inf (i.e,
webapps/test/Web-inf)
Web-inf directory contains
1. web.xml file
2. another directory classes (i.e,

Hello All,
I am facing the following error while running a loadtest (when i choose the scenario to be executed for No of test iterations). But the same loadtest with the Run duration for X minutes is running fine without any issues.
Any suggestions on the issue i am facing
error is :

Thanks
SatishHi Kotapati,
>>Subject: VSTS loadtest error while running Loadtest with Runsettings as No of test iterations , ERROR is : could not read result repository: unknown transaction
id in results:
According to your description, you mean that when you run your load test using the Test Iterations way and then get the error message, am I right?
If yes, please you try to close the VS, and then open this VS again. Then clean your load test project/solution and then re-build it, run your load test again check this issue again.
In addition, I suggest you could try to create a new load test and then run it using Test Iterations way check if you get the issue for the specified load test or all load tests.
If possible, I suggest you could share me simple load test for us so that we will further help you.
You could upload your load test to OneDrive and then copy link here.

ORA-04062 error when running forms with different users
ORA-04062 error when running forms with different users
I have a form that has a block that should display some data from another users tables. (The other user's name is dynamic, it's selected from a list box)
I wrote a stored procedure to get the data from other user's tables.
When I compile the form and run it with the same user I compiled, it works without any error. But when I run the compiled form with another user I get the ORA-04062 (signature of procedure has been changed) error.
I tried setting REMOTE_DEPENDENCIES_MODE to SIGNATURE in init.ora but it didn't help.
My Forms version is 6i with Patch 15.
Database version is 9.
Here is my stored procedure:
TYPE Scenario_Tab IS TABLE OF NUMBER(34) INDEX BY BINARY INTEGER;
TYPE Open_Curs IS REF CURSOR;
PROCEDURE Get_Scenarios(User_Name IN VARCHAR2, Scen_Table OUT Scenario_Tab) IS
Curs Open_Curs;
i NUMBER;
BEGIN
OPEN Curs FOR
'SELECT Seq_No FROM '|| User_Name ||'.scenario';
i := 1;
LOOP
FETCH Curs INTO Scen_Table(i);
EXIT WHEN Curs%NOTFOUND;
i := i + 1;
END LOOP;
END Get_Senarios;
I would be happy to solve this problem. It's really important.
Maybe somebody can tell me another way to do what I want to do. (getting a list of values from another users tables)I think it should be a better solution to create a package,
and put your own TYPES and procedure into it.
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE PKG_XXX IS
TYPE TYP_TAB_CHAR IS TABLE OF .... ;
PROCEDURE P_XX ( Var1 IN VARCHAR2, var2 IN OUT TYP_TAB_CHAR );
END ;
Then in your Form :
Declare
var PKG_XXX.TYP_TAB_CHAR ;
Begin
PKG_XXX.P_XX( 'user_name', var ) ;
End ; -

How to run Servlet in Tomcat 5.5.7 Server. I mean where I should copy my *.class file.
Thanks in Advance.
bbye.In order to complile the servlet you need to tell java where to find the servlet libary (as stated above by setting the class path). or (much easier IMO)
copy the servlet-api.jar to
JavaInstallDirectory\jre\lib\ext -

Error 404 missing page with BO EDGE 3.1 SP3 - Tomcat via wdeploy
Hi,
We have a problem with the deployment of the webapps on Tomcat 5.5 (5.5.31) of our BO Edge 3.1 SP3 installation.
All seems to be working fine untill we try to open a WebI document or try to create a new document (any). Whenever we try to perform one of those actions we always receive an http error 404: Requested resource() is not available...
I already browsed through other threads and it says that some of the war files could be corrupted. So we undeployed and redeployed, but no progress towards the error...
Another solution is to see in the java/webapps in the installation directory and compare to the files deployed in the Tomcat directory but I detected no changes.
We have this issue on 2 of our web servers on which we deployed the war files: our internal webserver, and on our webserver in the DMZ.
The strange is that when I try to connect with yet another web server that isn't yet updated (from our current production environment) all features are working fine... However SAP/BusinessObjects states that you should always perform an update of your war files as well (I noticed some differences in size between the different version, so I guess that it is really needed to redeploy...)
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?
How can this be solved? We really want to go to the latest SP and deploy it in the DMZ zone.
Any advise is appreciated.
JornAntatack,
this the exact procedure we have followed. We did redeploy all war files because we updated to SP 3.
However:
now we get an error message when we try to open a WebI document
now we get an error message when we try to create a new document (Webi, Deski, ...)
when we test it from our webserver running the war files from XI 3.1 all works well.
We cannot find a difference in the war files on the Edge server and the ones deployed on the Webserver(s)
Can someone please help us out? -
How can I run a servlet with tomcat
I'm a new learner in servlet,I recently write a servlet program,when I compile it,the compiler throws the error
"package javax.servlet.http does not exist",I have put the servlet.jar(which exist in d:\tomcat\bin directory) file into the classpath directory;my servlet source files are in D:\tomcat\webapps\mywork\web-inf\classes\com\stardeveloper\servlets;
"com.stardeveloper.servlets" is the package for my servlet source files,so I have write the sentence "package com.stardeveloper.servlets;" in my servlet source file.
I don't know how to resolve this problem.can you give me a help?servlet.jar doesn't exist in the folder you mentioned, but rather, in C:\tomcat40\common\lib, so this should be included in your classpath, the other thing you should care about is how you compiled your servlets, so that the package statement match the hirarchy of the file.
